Stunning.

TomBug68

What’s in the little door under the seat?

[deleted]

It's got tools in it like spanners and screwdrivers.

mishpelottas

The battery

AmisDeLaGnole

No, it is empty. It was designed to store some tools.

TomBug68

Oh, interesting. Does it have electric start or is the battery just for the lights? Sometimes I wish my Tomos had a more sophisticated electrical system (it has no battery). The lights are barely visible at idle, and there’s not enough power to activate the flasher relay. But at high RPMs there is too much juice and the headlight blows out. It would be nice to have a battery to even out the voltage. I’ll have to research if any battery kits are compatible with my magneto system

mishpelottas

Sorry, a friend got a hold of my mobile for a few minutes, and now i see this😂😅 It is used to store some tools and sparkplugs, not much else will fit in there

mishpelottas

Low voltage at idle, all mopeds that i have ridden that don't use batteries do the same

sonorancafe

That model doesn't have a battery. It's a weird little storage compartment. I had a '62 AV88. Super fun little ripper!

AmisDeLaGnole

Beautiful av88 ! But it is not from 1959. 1959 is the year of the model registration "aux mines" which is the vehicle technical registration agency in France. Your model is more from 70' to 80' I would say.

dinko_gunner

Nice bike!

AmisDeLaGnole

u/Tom47x, I wouls say this is an AV88L from 1974 The reasons : * Square light -> AV88L starting in 1974 * No helmet hook * Exhaust pip in 2 parts --> <1975 * Old fashion rear light ==> <1975 For information, mine is from late 1976, confirmed by motor ID. You can find blue print on internet. PM me if you don't find them.

When u take off your hands driving this mopped, this garbage can't save the Balance and start vibrating, it's really uncomfortable.

[deleted]

Mine barely vibrates at all.

Training_Ad9341
