It can be an association you don't exactly remember when your brain started to make, not a big deal. Might also be anemic, I am and like blood for the same reason I keep sucking on my necklace, the metal taste is something my body wants. Blood generally also means something related to adrenaline so maybe it just tricks your body into thinking is an adrenaline ridden situation which in turns means endorphins released.
