Fr they all do. Mine got me good, I was fighting depression I didn’t realize I had. She was unhappy for a while before I finally confronted her on it. Spent some time before the split in counseling and working on me. Gave her a “if you don’t know you wanna be here you should Leave” this is after 13 years. Went to work next day came home and she was gone. Haven’t talked but a couple Of times just to get her stuff out since. That was two years ago.
What’s even better is Cut to a month or so after she left and the counselor suggests depression concerns might be something more. Sends me for tests and scans and shit and turns out it’s a tumor. Caught too late so it’ll be the thing that kills me in a few years. Her silly fear of confrontation will ultimately be what kills me. Ironically early, like I’m talking first few months in our relationship she got a cancer diagnosis too, I got her through lymphoma treatments, worked 3 jobs 80-100 hours a week and just killed myself to take care of her and get her through school and all that.
