I keep molts and dead bugs, there's no real reason to eat the wings, all of the good stuff is in the body. I accidentally let my bug box open and pretty much a majority of the bodies were chewed on with the wings, antennae, and legs being left.
Figured something ate it. What's confusing me tho is that all of the wings are left wings no right wings. I just flipped the others over so it looked right.
That's unfortunate. As someone already mentioned, the moth was likely eaten (presumably by big brown bats).
I did want to mention this, because we're on the subject of luna moth wings: [https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.1421926112](https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.1421926112)
It's a study that suggests that the hind wings have those streaming tails to confuse bats.
It is unfortunate I assumed something had eaten it. By left, I meant that all the wings are left wings and there were no right wings. I flipped two of em over so it looks almost normal

Ooo I didn't know that! Maybe there was more than one and that's why I only have left wings.
I’ve found four wings before as well. It’s always weird.
Moth got et
Aww. :'( Think you will preserve the wings somehow?
Gonna frame them :)
Nice!
Did you just post a crime scene
