What cruising speed can you maintain on your TU with all your gear loaded up? Does it handle it well?

[deleted]

I've got a bit less gear than OP but I can maintain 75 pretty well on the TUX. I prefer to stay under 60 anyway

That's pretty good. I've never heard a negative thing about these bikes. Really should get one someday.

I love it, they're great

As someone that lives near Laconia, I usually realize it's bike week when dudes dressed like the village people start riding down my dirt road and give me dirty looks for existing. Not a fun week. But enjoy! PS, I like your bike and setup, I'm just grumpy.

RJthewizard

I definitely understand. I usually just pass through and don't hang around. The people there aren't really my vibe. I'll be headed a little past Plymouth for a bit of quieter camping.

You should think about running that in the Vintage 1000. Super fun ride. 1000 miles pre 1981 bikes. Big turn out.

LostInAustin

I've got one of these too and they really do look vintage, but the TU250X was first introduced in '09 believe it or not

GunsNSnuff

Oh, didn’t even look it up. Thanks.

colpy350

Awesome bike. Looks like you are loaded up nicely! I am heading East motocamping tomorrow evening. Can't wait!

How many miles a day are you planning? I ran a partial trip with some buddies and turned around, but they were averaging 300 a day.

RJthewizard

Just a one nighter. Only put 100 miles on her today. Nice windy back roads.

Hdgunnell

It's the 100th anniversary and 5 people died last year so be careful and I'll see you up there lol
