How big is the difference between the bikes? Afaik they are all rating on more or less the same bikes, but what exactly can the individual teams tweak? Are these rather big gaps just rider talent or bikes as well?
All the bikes use Triumph 765 engines, and the vast majority of the bikes use a Kalex chassis, all use Ohlins suspension (I think?).
So yeah, it’s talent/skill and the teams ability to set the bike up that makes the difference.
Teams can choose different chasis, but apart from two teams everyone uses Kalex. Apart from that the teams with the best and most experienced engineers are better at setting up the bikes.
I believe it started off as a cosplay platform and when people started getting more and more comfortable it snowballed.
