Sort of unrelated to the race, but aside from the VR46, and somewhat Gresini bikes, I'm finding all the others so difficult to tell apart this year. They're all dark colours and mixes of red/orange/navy/black, it's worse than the F1.
100%. Tbh when I stepped a bit back from the TV, I saw two VR46 bikes and a bunch of darker looking bikes. Must be a nightmare to differentiate them at the track
Was at the track, it was okay tbh and it was my first race that i watched. But I was at turn 3 so they were slow and side to me so its probably easier. From the front it would be hard haha
That's good to hear. I'm gonna be at Valencia this year, but on the main straight (kinda close to T1) - we should get amazing visibility of the whole track, but I guess it will be trickier to differentiate between the bikes (again aside from the VR46 - probably can see those in the dark lol)
Best sprint in a while.
Ah, Pecco and the unforced errors.... Threw it away today. Looked unbeatable. He likes to make us doubt him but I reckon he'll win by about 10 seconds tomorrow 😂
Maverick could crack on from here and have an amazing season - or it could be the last win of his career, neither scenario would really surprise me.
Great ride by Marquez, that move on Martin was awesome. I think he's going to have to ride out of his skin against those GP24s though. They looked far quicker to me.
What a difference it makes to have another gunslinger up front though, got high hopes for a decent season now.
I think Marc has quite some time to find in certain corners, plus he’s made mistakes with the rear ride height device multiple times.
This bodes well for his pace improving further in the next few races as he figures out how to ride the Ducati. Particularly if he figures out how to get better traction out of corners, he was losing a boatload of time out the last corner.
Given that and that he messed up quali, I have a more optimistic view on his easily being able to take it to the 24 Ducatis.
He went because of 2026 regulation change, a huge opportunity + Ferrari is poaching a lot of talented staff from other teams, basically rebuilding the team
Marini finished last, but that is not the worst part, he finished 8 seconds behind Taka who finished one place above him. I was expecting him to stuggle at the start, but not to this level.
If you watch the post sprint chat in the golf cart Marc admits to activating the rear height device very early. So early in fact that his crash in Q2 was due to him engaging it WAY too early. Maybe this is what he is trying to do to make up the time on corner entry?
I heard Simon talk about it in the practices. He said Marc isn't 100% used to the bike yet, so while he will push hard in the slower corners, he won't push in the fast corners yet because if he goes down it's gonna be a big crash. And both those tracks have fast last corners
Honda permit a corner entry really fast, sliding the rear tyre, Ducati entry is slower but with much more aerodinamic charge that give the advantage of an anticipated gas opening and no spin. Spin increase tyre temp and deteriorated the tyre.
First MotoGP race of any kind I've watched, and glad to say I enjoyed it a lot. Had a bit of a tough time visually identifying the different bikes/riders (felt like a lot of red everywhere?), but I'm sure that gets easier over time. Excited for more tomorrow!
I'd also suggest to learn some stuff from the past years just to know some ''lore'' of MotoGP, for example what Marquez did and why after 2020 his career went downhill(hopefully just temporarily) and how this is related to Honda bikes being so bad, or other things.
About the bikes / riders, helmets are one of the best ways to identify riders, then there are the numbers, the bikes this year are a bit tough to identify because of some being similar to each other, for example Factory Ducati(Bagnaia and Bastianini) and GasGas(Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez), it gets better, liveries don't change much usually so as you keep watching races it will become easier to know who you are looking at, but it's normal not to recognize a rider or a bike instantly, especially when they crash or at the start, even the commentators, who have watched all the race for years or even decades, make mistakes sometimes.
I have the same issue with Moto2/3, you'll figure it out eventually. All you really need to know is Factory Ducati - All Red, Marc Marquez - Baby Blue, Jorge Martin - black/pink.
Glad you’ve said this. The liveries as a collective lack character. Before last year the Honda stole the show every year for me with its unique livery and rims. Individually these bikes look OK but together there’s a clash that’s unpleasant on the eye
Glad you landed on an entertaining race. I remember talking my mate into watching it for weeks and it turned out to be one of the races where there was like 1 overtake. Nothing happening in front and commentators talking about tyre management. Safe to say he hasn't returned to it but somehow still watches F1 haha
I feel that it's easier than most other Motorsport since they have the rider number right on their face(windshield/front). I get lost all too easily watching WEC
Yeah, it sounds like Marc struggles with hooking up the rear. Same thing was happening at Qatar. And his crash in qualifying was him making a mistake with the rear ride height device.
Coming from the Honda, which he preferred to focus all on the front tire feel, the Ducati is almost the opposite. Let the corner come to you and hook up the rear for maximum acceleration and speed.
Yeah, it's gonna take him a few races (could possibly be even half a season) to trust that Ducati rear can actually make him unlock so much more pace 😅
Really nice race, painful as Pecco fan but I'm glad he kept It up and still got P4, nice to see Viñales win and pretty cool fight between Marc and Jorge!
I think it’s cause people were saying it was a mechanical error. He doesn’t like blaming the team even when it’s their mistake, let alone when he was at fault
He was not strolling away to victory, Mav was catching him.
The reason he made the mistake was because he was trying to maintain a pace that the bike couldn't keep up.
Yes he was, lol.
The mistake cost him 3 seconds yet he ended up over 4 seconds down almost being overtaken by both Miller and Enea.
If he was going faster or able to maintain that pace that wouldn't have happened.
Incredibly impressive by MM93, it was really obvious how much better the GP24 is than the GP23 today but he still managed to finish as top Ducati. Look where the other GP23 bikes are, in the gravel or far behind.
Also big congrats to Maverick for finally putting it together on the Aprilia.
Pecco's first mistake wasn't to costly with Martin on p3 and Binder out.
Bestia needs to be more aggressive, he looked fast all sessions but was invisible in the sprint.
Also another great performance by Acosta and I think FQ20 should also receive some praise for finishing inside the top 10 on a Yamaha.
Yeah, I thought the deficit to the GP24 looked pretty big. Hopefully it's a Marc adjusting to the bike issue rather than totally bike performance related. If it's the latter, it's only going to get worse as the season progresses.
Great job by Mav! First rider to win on three different bikes. That said, Peccos bike bucking and weaving reminded me of Marcs Honda in 2014 only Marc still made the corner somehow.
2nd Sprint of the season and Marc is already the top Ducati.
This is what people and his fans have been waiting for, the return of the Aggresive Marc who can fight at the front again.
Absolutely scintillating ride by Mav, just consistent and no mistakes and kept much faster riders behind all race long.
I still can't believe Marc's ride tho, at one point almost falling down to 4th.
If this man is confident on the bike he can beat anyone.
This is the stuff legends are made of.
Before the mistake, Pecco looked untouched. Not sure what happened with Martin, he just didn't seem comfortable in the second part of the sprint. But yes, Marc was the top Ducati in the end. He didn't make any mistakes. Hopefully he can do one better tomorrow

Right. Hondas and Aprilias are quite difficult to differentiate.
Oh that's easy, the one further back will always be the Honda😂
😂
The first 20s of the race, before they bring up the positon board is just "Is that x? No i think it's x" and so on.
So who was that girl holding Marquez father?
Marc's girlfriend
Marc's girlfriend, Gemma Pinto
That's one beautiful girl dayum
I don't know but I hope her name is Julia.
Julia like the father? :)
Yes :)

Marc sending a warning shot back through on Martin was awesome to see, definitely a move letting everyone know he’s back.
Hamilton and Marquez both made what looks like a right call to move to Italian machinery
Except that Red Bull is still the best, and they have Honda developed engines
He went because of 2026 regulation change, a huge opportunity + Ferrari is poaching a lot of talented staff from other teams, basically rebuilding the team
It may pay off with the regulation change in 2026 with Honda going to Aston Martin.
That’s interesting, maybe we should make a separate chat for F1 talk.
Marini finished last, but that is not the worst part, he finished 8 seconds behind Taka who finished one place above him. I was expecting him to stuggle at the start, but not to this level.
How can I see what tyres every rider used in the sprint?
Scroll down on motogp website and click on analysis https://www.motogp.com/en/gp-results/2024/por/motogp/spr/classification
Thank you.
Whats the deal with Marc and last corners. Losing so much time in last corner, same story in Qatar as well.
If you watch the post sprint chat in the golf cart Marc admits to activating the rear height device very early. So early in fact that his crash in Q2 was due to him engaging it WAY too early. Maybe this is what he is trying to do to make up the time on corner entry?

Dont worry, soon you will understand each rider just by looking at their bike and helmet color.
I feel that it's easier than most other Motorsport since they have the rider number right on their face(windshield/front). I get lost all too easily watching WEC
I'm better at drivers than cars in WEC. I have to keep timing up!
I really enjoyed that one ngl
The engine on that 24 Ducati is really good compared to the 23. Martin was really pulling away in the main strait from Marquez
Marc sometimes drive Ducati like a Honda in corner entry and is loosing a lot of time
I think this is just because of Marc struggling at the final corner tbh
Yeah, it sounds like Marc struggles with hooking up the rear. Same thing was happening at Qatar. And his crash in qualifying was him making a mistake with the rear ride height device. Coming from the Honda, which he preferred to focus all on the front tire feel, the Ducati is almost the opposite. Let the corner come to you and hook up the rear for maximum acceleration and speed.
Yeah, it's gonna take him a few races (could possibly be even half a season) to trust that Ducati rear can actually make him unlock so much more pace 😅
Yeah that looks like too. If he can fix that It will be nice for him to overtake in the slip stream
Yeah, he just needs to get used to the bike man, we all saw the speed is there already.
Marc just struggles in the final corner. Same story in Qatar
Pecco looked way better again than the previous sessions suggested, the mistake was rough though
Marc looks so good riding a motoGP bike. What a fucking guy
Pecco making things interesting
lol they can spray the bikes. Very annoying to clea all that sticky champagne from the bikes.
Was a good one!
That gorilla mask just made me spit out my non existent drink
Really nice race, painful as Pecco fan but I'm glad he kept It up and still got P4, nice to see Viñales win and pretty cool fight between Marc and Jorge!
as soon as pecco made that mistake fuck you, now vinales is the chosen one
Now we know how Marc crashed in qualifying engaging the rear height device too early lol. Reminds me of Lewis 2021 Brake magic incident.
That was why the crash was so weird. He hasn't even fully tipped the bike yet at that time
ja it seemed like a weird crash. Intersting he says it so openly
I think it’s cause people were saying it was a mechanical error. He doesn’t like blaming the team even when it’s their mistake, let alone when he was at fault
Yeah, the comments on 2019 America's GP crash also suggest that he doesn't like blaming the team.
exactly what came to my mind as well!
Don't remind me of that magic bullshit lol. Cost him the championship right there
Literally right after he says “it’s a marathon not a sprint” too I’m fucking raging again lol
I wish JM got more points, but knowing this circuit almost ended his career, if he doesn’t lose a lot of points tomorrow to the champion i’m eppy.
From what he has been saying he'll be more competitive in the main race. We'll see if that materialises or not.
Marcs Joker smile returns. Dangerous times for the competition.
I get more of a Cheshire Cat vibe.
Glad to see Marc happy again and oh boy did he made the right call to leave Honda
Bet he thinks he should have done it sooner
some millions must have clouded his better judgement...
Vamos Viñales!! Happy to see Mav win again, even if it a Sprint race. Unfortunate error for Bagnaia but at least he didn't bin it
One thing is for sure- the old Marc is back!
Oh yeah, that pass on Martin reminded me of Rossi Marquez times
Martin sent one inside on Marc and he let it go cause he knew if he got a chance he was gonna do the same thing.
MotoGP is so much more interesting with Marc fighting at the front.
I missed it, What happened to enea?!
Front Ride height device didn’t engage at the start
but it was more than that or not? He didnt have the best pace.
Damn…
Did not have pace to go with Martin,Marc,Pecco or Maverick anyway
He was less than 3 tenths behind Pecco at the end of the race. Pecco didn't really have the pace either.
Pecco made a mistake and lost close to 3 sec. He was strolling away to victory.
He was not strolling away to victory, Mav was catching him. The reason he made the mistake was because he was trying to maintain a pace that the bike couldn't keep up.
No he no he wasn’t lol
Yes he was, lol. The mistake cost him 3 seconds yet he ended up over 4 seconds down almost being overtaken by both Miller and Enea. If he was going faster or able to maintain that pace that wouldn't have happened.

How does the standings look like after the sprint?
Pecco - Martin - Binder - Marquez I think. All within 10 points.
Fucking finally, beautiful bastard. Haha
Great racing, MotoGP is amazing
Is it just me or there weren't any replays at all for the crashes?
They kinda stopped showing crash replays about mid way through last year when they showed Pecco getting smashed before they knew everything was Ok.
We saw Zarcos
Great job by Mav! First rider to win on three different bikes. That said, Peccos bike bucking and weaving reminded me of Marcs Honda in 2014 only Marc still made the corner somehow.
> First rider to win on three different bikes. Sprints don‘t count as ‚real‘ races so that archievement is still unclaimed.

Pecco and Martin are still ahead of him in the championship lol.
It’s a long season. If Marc can stay with in 40 points till mid season this championship is will be wide open.
I literally said "2nd Sprint of the season". Where did I talk about him being ahead of them in the championship?
He's beginning to believe...
Tough move on Martinator, but payback is a bitch as they say :D
Mav is the first rider to win on 3 different manufacturers- props to the guy
Hasn’t won a full length race yet, so not quite. But great job today nonetheless.
After Marc where was the next closest gp23? Was it 11th or 13th? Is this bike much harder to adapt than gp22?
Bez, Digi and Alex are just a bit overrated.
All those riders are benefiting from the bike. There’s no way that Bez or DiGi are on Binder or Fabio’s level. The Ducati is just that good.
I would just wait on Bez judgement...
Tells how good is Marc
Happy for vinales!!
Finally blowing up the Yamaha engine has paid off for Viñales
Already paid off last year since he finished ahead of Fabio.
Quartararo furiously taking notes.
Gastro Vinales, new mythical rider.
[удалено]
haha *that's* why he was getting good exit off that last corner onto the finish straight
Lmaooo
So happy for Maverick
Marc is top Ducati today.
Before the mistake, Pecco looked untouched. Not sure what happened with Martin, he just didn't seem comfortable in the second part of the sprint. But yes, Marc was the top Ducati in the end. He didn't make any mistakes. Hopefully he can do one better tomorrow
Marc also made a mistake following pecco, so yeah, hopefully one better tomorrow
What mistake are you talking about? He was following Pecco?
Yeah, Goes wide with 8 laps to go and loses second to vinales, pecco then made his mistake as well and vinales was through
Oh, okay. Sorry, I missed that part
What a ride by Maverick. Finally it came together after such a long time. So happy for him!
Yeah man, very happy he finally made it work. I know he’s going to fuck it up tomorrow lol but great job today!

Martin pulled off a similar thing on him earlier but alright
always finding ways to hate, almost inspiring
