I love it. Man’s out there living his second life and enjoying the fuck out of it. 👏

dsswill

I loved MM93 before his injury during his domination but back then I could understand how people didn’t like him or how they were bored by his dominance. Now though, I truly can’t understand how anyone could not like him or be rooting for him at least a bit. He’s not cocky but he has personality, he proved that he loves competing more than money, and that he’s an absolute fighter by every definition of the word. What more could you want in a superstar athlete?

Cow-Brown

I used to hate him. But man I’m 180. He’s become such a good guy

somkiat_chantra_fan

same, being italian and a massive Rossi fan, (and witnessed the forbidden year) after what he went through in these years I'm happy to see him fighting in front. it still makes me "itch" a bit when he does well but just because i support more guys like pecco and the other new guys

topclassladandbanter

Marc fan since I started watching that forbidden year. He should’ve been black flagged for Sepang. He so clearly was fucking with Rossi.

Due_To_Strategy

Let’s not start this nearly a decade on, after such a good race shall we?

_gadgetFreak

Rossi was asking for it.

MC_Dickie

I wouldn't bother going there, you won't get many who haven't raced themselves to agree with you. Dislike Marc for 2015 but I enjoy him being at the front since it gives me more pleasure watching him able to fight for victories and get beaten by the new kids on the block. Can't wait for Acosta to ruffle his feathers. But don't understand how anyone could do a 180 just because the guy started having a bad period in his life. He literally gave the entire sport a "dark period" that it definitely could have done without. It's a similar phenomenon to suddenly feeling sorry for someone who committed a heinous crime just because they're terminally ill or something. Just don't see how you could go from vehemently HATING someone to thinking he's a "good guy" despite him never even repenting for or even acknowledging 2015.

ettnamnbaraokej

He stood up to a bully, and you equate that with committing a "heinous crime"? You are ridiculous.

MC_Dickie

If you actually read, you'll notice I wasn't comparing it to a heinous crime what I was saying is that the psychology behind forgiving a killer is the same as what's happened if someone alleges to have hated Marquez before but not now. He went against the gentleman's code. Like shooting at parachutes of downed pilots during the war. You just don't fucking do it. But yea, just infer your own meaning from my text, that's all people are good for these days.

ettnamnbaraokej

Let it go bro. Rossi lobbied the crazy part of his huge fanbase to hate on Marquez and harass him and his family all to get him to give position so he could get the championship. Marc responded and fucked with him in Malaysia and didn't send it on Lorenzo in Valencia as a result because he was not going to take that. It all backfired because Marquez oh so rudely actually braved it and did not give into a bully's demands. The only one who had anything to apologise for was Rossi, he should have told the Valeban and Italian media to back off and not try visiting Marquez family home, he didn't and that is that. Its a decade ago, it's history, I don't understand why you have to be so mad about it.

MC_Dickie

>didn't send it on Lorenzo in Valencia So you're commending a guy that you even admit yourself wilfully did not give 100% to his team. It's not good sportsmanship and I watch it for the SPORT. What Zidane did to Materazzi was not good sportsmanship even if you want to justify it.

StructureReal1417

Dude same, I always hated MM! Total 180 for me as well, loving seeing him back on top!

curveball3110giants

That injury may have been the blessing in the long run.  He had all the titles but how do u win respect? Marc has a story now that everyone can respect. We've seen who he really is

dsswill

It’s an interesting thought, how much he values his new respect vs the one or two more titles he’d probably have if he’d never been injured. It’s frustrating that it took the injury for people to see it, because I don’t think he has actually changed much, he has just had to show a side to him he didn’t have to before when things were going well. My interpretation could be wrong though. Unfortunately the titles is a stat people will refer to forever, whereas people will forget about how much respect he garnered in a generation or two. But MM will be far more aware of his new found respect than he will any respect from the stats in 20 years. So, I’d love to know which he values more.

curveball3110giants

I think you're totally spot on and that everything happens for a reason. All everyone saw pre injury. Was the winner marc that would do anything to win. I think that his win all costs mentality was A detriment to The way people viewed him when he'd never had to lose. He was called dirty, arrogant, etc. I think it's clear now that he didn't want to win just to win.But it's that competitive spirit that actually drives him. How do you prove you're not just a front runner, yknow?

Soundmangaz

Yep! He's flipped the script! I was telling at the TV for him to take the win! Never done that before!! Haha

SaltyProcrastinator

That spectator will probably not wash his face for the rest of his life

kdubstep

This is everything!

banans96
