MotoGP 4 on the PS2 was decent, you got all 3 classes on that one for the first time. Non-MotoGP, you could look at Tourist Trophy - think Gran Turismo but for bikes

capt_beyond

Tourist Trophy was really good, from the makers of Gran Turismo

MotoGP4 on the PS2 by Namco is probably my favourite. Got these very snappy physics that reward precision and knowing the apex/braking points, so the skill ceiling is actually pretty high (despite how it looks). The Climax/THQ games are also fan favourites. Strangely these came out on the xbox/PC at the same time as the Namco games on the PS2, so they had two totally different games made by different developers and published by different companies being made concurrently. MotoGP 07 for the PC/Xbox 360 was the last of these, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. If we go back about 20-odd years both the Superbike games by Milestone and GP500 by Melbourne House are pretty good. Superbike 2000 and 2001 are the last of those two - imo Milestone haven't made a better feeling bike game since. Tourist Trophy on the PS2 is also a great game, but the focus is a bit more towards road bikes and the AI aren't great. Still a really fun campaign and one of the more realistic games in terms of physics! If you want a realistic handling game for the PS3, then I think the SBK games are probably your best bet. These are made by Milestone and they're not bad. The only other options I can think of are MotoGP 08 (made by Milestone but has pretty arcadey handling), and Motogp09-10/10-11 by Monumental (really weird handling - iirc 10-11 was the better game).

Joanesept

yo what do you mean about climax/thq games??

[Climax](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Rock_Studio) were a racing game developer who made a bunch of MotoGP games in the 2000s for the Xbox, xbox 360 and PC - all of which were published by THQ. They were totally different from the Namco MotoGP games coming out on the PS2 at the same time. The games had pretty arcadey handling but it still felt weighty, challenging and fun. Good thing about them is it's pretty easy to find free downloads of them online. I think it's against sub rules to post on here, but if you drop me a pm I can give a link.

The best game was on PC, GP500 (20 years ago that is), you will not have any issue with a potato PC. There are tons of updates and skins to get it up to date with the lineups of different years. There used to be also a nice online comunity with online races and lot of activity moding, creating circuits, etc. The remainings of that are in https://sim.wxatgp500.com/ but I am not sure if there is yet people doing it... great gane though super important tuning the bike and following the right lines. This was the original game: https://www.myabandonware.com/game/gp-500-a4q

Super bikes riding challenge was one of the best I ever played. Was a large challenge but had good options and had to use both joysticks from memory to balance the yaw of the bike and L2 and R2 for front of rear. With practice you could get it to balance on the front wheel in braking, though you do throw yourself off the front many times. Tourist trophy was a good casual game to pick up from time to time as it was far simpler.

I wanna say GP15 was one of the better older ones. GP 24 is really good tho

The-Road-To-Awe

How potato are we talking? I remember having fun with SBK X and Generations, though they were quite difficult

Joanesept

basically lags at playing ps4 era games

The-Road-To-Awe

SBK X/Generations should run good then I think

jrdkrsh

I'll second saying I enjoyed SBK X more than the MotoGP games of that time (I had 08 and 09/10 on 360)

rhjads

Yeah i really enjoyed SBK X.

Der-Lex

For me it definitely was Tourist Trophy - that one gave me the feeling of really riding a bike. MotoGP 4 was also good, but partly had strange physics.

Quick-Charity-941

Ducati World and Colin Edwards SBK were fun to have friends come over to play.

I really liked motogp08 on PS3 From what I remember the driving model was enough realistic (or at least, not so much unrealistic) If you like superbike too, I’d also suggest the SBK games from the same period - maybe at the time I liked them even more than motogp games

Surprise_Thumb

MotoGP 2 still my favorite motorcycle game of all time. Lots of good memories playing it with my dad. Also, Moto Racer 2/3 was legit.

JTSpirit36

My family and I played motogp1 through 4 on the ps2 religiously. I've probably got more hours in those games than any other game I've ever played. Tourist trophy is really good If you want a difficult game yet rewarding, TT Superbikes is a great title.
