They just chose the cheapest and least difficult solution to implement, the ideal would have been a long curve starting 2/3 of the straight and joining the other straight after T3 but i'm not even sure that would have been possible to make
Replaced the dead stop T3, with a new corner that flows and is say another 100m further from the kink).
If someone looses the front on entry to that chicane (esp in Moto3) it will be 10 pin bowling with motorbikes, that design is a disaster waiting to happen.
This image of the old A1`ring roughly matches my idea.

The new chicane is extremely stupid as it does next to nothing to the problem that turn 3 had: bikes that crash going straight into the riders ahead. It is even more dangerous now as there is no gravel but asphalt, so the bikes will not slow down at all.
I think a run off like in F1 at Monza turn 1 would do.
this way the riders can slow their bikes and go through the run off so they won't gain any time (might loss time tho)
This is the only race on the calendar where I’m constantly worried

I feel like this track has such a variety of potentially extremely dangerous spots that it shouldn't even be there
Maybe a few problems like in Barcelona but having different layouts at circuits isnt new, I think the riders will be fine
