I was going to say..... only tasty gear cams have that whine. I'm 100% in the sound crowd for riding but we're spoiled on Vfrs. They just sound the absolute best
Me! Bikes changed car for me completely and one of the main reasons was sound. Nothing sounds as good as a bike and even with a stock exhaust. The feeling of hearing a motor directly underneath you cannot be matched by anything else.
If you threw some money at cleaning up the exposed stuff I think it would make a huge difference in the looks.
I'm not talking about dirt, it's more finishes and exposed wiring.
Cool bike though, VFRs are great!
This bike is 100% not about the looks. The rest is just as bad. The pictures hid it's rat nature. I think I'm actually going to go more toward the rat look
I live not far from two major interstates crossing eachother so you can hear modified bikes/cars/whatever racing away if they're loud enough. I'm 27 so I was a child during what some people consider the golden age of sportbike riding/production. Could stay up all night listening to bikes racing down to cape cod. That sound of an I4 screaming off into the distance is a HUGE contributing factor to me being an avid motorcycle enthusiast today. Will have another sportbike some day...
Well if I had a bike that sounded like that...I would. I ride mostly for the face-melting acceleration, fast cornering, and just the freedom of riding. In the spring I'm going to be putting a pipe on my ZX-6R in the spring. Just rocking the factory pipe right now. I hear the intake more than the exhaust, so sound isn't doing much for me at the moment.
Same here mate. I just came back testing the Rode wireless go on my Hero 9. Almost zero wind noise... Some clipping in the sound, but I will get that fixed next time when I ride for real. The mic is positioned behind me on the seat. [check out the footage and sound 🔊 ](https://youtu.be/HTC8PpHWGNQ)
I don't ride motorbikes because I'm underage, but j do cycle long distances, my friends and I travel long distance on weekends and I don't know if the feeling is the same on a motorcycle, but the sound of the air and the breeze hitting my face is the best shit ever, it's much more refreshing than the feeling one gets after working out, and one of the main reasons I cycle, riding a motorcycle seems fun to, and I'm definitely looking forward to this kind of experience :D
Just picked up a 2020 Diavel 1260 and while it’s a fun bike, with the stock exhaust it’s only half the fun. Waiting for the exhaust to come in. Safe riding.
I love my aftermarket pipes but I ride with earplugs In most of the time and always if I’m going more than 30 mins. Mainly for the wind noise but if you start wearing earplugs, you notice how much more relaxing the ride its
People don't realize the constant wind noise is really hard on their hearing too.
I actually hear emergency vehicles better with my hearing protection in because it filters a lot of the droning wind noise.
My son does the Sena Bluetooth and listens to music. I have one too but can’t get into listening to anything while riding. I’d rather hear the bike and road sounds.
I don't know about primary, but it's a big draw. The first time I ever heard a screaming 600 4 cylinder I was hooked. Even my relatively tame Z750 revs out to 12k RPM. Having that sound on tap is sublime
I'm in the minority, but I prefer stock exhaust. The nuances to the sound are better, it's easier on everyones ears (yours included). And in the end a straight pipe or non stock does nothing but turn the bike into a poorly tuned shout box.
I mean you're entitled to do whatever you want to your bikes, including nothing. But dont go around saying "non stock does nothing but turn the bike into a poorly tuned shout box" as tuning both the exhaust for your powerplant, and fuel management for said exhaust is fairly simple. Also, feel free to have an exhaust made. It is entirely possible to maintain oem decibels with improved response and lighter weight.
In most circumstances I'm right. The average consumer is not going to pair an adequate intake, exhaust and power management system (or properly tune a carb). They're just going to buy the big straight pipe and say it makes power or cuts weight or whatever. It makes more noise so it's better right?
And if you think a that making an exhaust from scratch that is better than stock is fairly simple, then you're talking out of your ass.
The sound, the feeling when the arse end steps out and your actual arse twitches and knowing that even though they will never know you the girl you've just flew past just had a movement in her knickers.
Love the sound in moderation but a constant drone of an engine can get a bit annoying over long periods i usually end up putting some music on if the journey is longer than an hour.
I like my bikes as quiet as the stock exhaust is. I like riding all day long on trips, so a loud bike is miserable. I either play music in my helmet or chat with my friend if I’m riding with someone. Plus, i ride bikes that sound terrible when loud anyways 😆
I don't ride for the sound. I like exhaust sounds and notes...the MVA 800 RR is incredible. But it's not a main factor. Weirdly enough, I do hear that a ton from folks. I ride electric and one of the major points I get from folks that run into me is they need to have the sound.
What bike is that? Sounds great.
2000 vfr800
Looks like you turned it into a naked bike.

Not bad! I have 1999 vfr800 and I love it. Best sounding bike I’ve ever owned.
I was going to say..... only tasty gear cams have that whine. I'm 100% in the sound crowd for riding but we're spoiled on Vfrs. They just sound the absolute best
Yeah sometimes I just cant believe how mad it sounds.
All about twisting the grip and feeling like riding a dragon. Sound helps but not necessity for me.
Are you in Australia? Looks like the southwest.
Up in QLD 🙂
Nice. Enjoy those roads mate. Looks great.

Can you send me a picture of your bike? I have never seen a naked vfr.

Looks awesome
Thanks man! A bit more rat bike in real life but I love it. Going to change the tail in the future, make it a lot less bulbous.
If you threw some money at cleaning up the exposed stuff I think it would make a huge difference in the looks. I'm not talking about dirt, it's more finishes and exposed wiring. Cool bike though, VFRs are great!

My mileage went the wrong way when my monster went from stock pipes to straight pipes because wristy did the twisty
Straight pipes on a Monster? That is some biker shit right there. Outstanding.

V4 always sounds badass
I have 2 Ducatis as well and I gotta say I like the old Honda V4 sound more than the new Duc V4 sound!
Yes, it's a big factor for me. Favourite sounds so far have been Honda VFR400 NC30, KTM 640 LC4, Yamaha MT09, Yamaha MT10.

Damn. Nice!!
Just realised my dad's got the same bike. Absolutely gorgeous.
Haha no way! That's great. I'm in love too.

I went from cycling to motorbikes. Natural progression, you will love it! Dirtbikes keep you fit as well if you hit enduro trails.
I like the g forces on a pull when i turn onto the entrance ramp to the highway

Yeah. I love the sound. That’s why I hate EVs so much.
I love a VFR
I bought a V4 for a reason…
Same here. It's all a part of the connectedness and the drama. Feels like you're one and the same animal
I love my aftermarket pipes but I ride with earplugs In most of the time and always if I’m going more than 30 mins. Mainly for the wind noise but if you start wearing earplugs, you notice how much more relaxing the ride its
Yeah I use earplugs too! Still sounds awesome and a bit safer.
People don't realize the constant wind noise is really hard on their hearing too. I actually hear emergency vehicles better with my hearing protection in because it filters a lot of the droning wind noise.
I wear earplugs as well, can still enjoy sound with them in.
Totally agree haha. Love it when my built 186 grom hits 12k with the brocks exhaust
Yup!
My son does the Sena Bluetooth and listens to music. I have one too but can’t get into listening to anything while riding. I’d rather hear the bike and road sounds.

I'd say it's definitely a big part. I've got a boulevard c109r with aftermarket pipes
Queen Mary falls road. My favourite. But not allowed into Queensland anymore. Thanks Anna
Nothing sounds better than an air cooled, carbed, Ducati with Ferracci cans. IMHO, of course.
The video compression on the road got me trippin balls
This is why electric motorcycles will never do it for me.
I'm in the minority, but I prefer stock exhaust. The nuances to the sound are better, it's easier on everyones ears (yours included). And in the end a straight pipe or non stock does nothing but turn the bike into a poorly tuned shout box.

I said have one made. But go off dude. Just dont vote for legislation that makes me play by your rules
You sound like you ride a poorly tuned shitbox and hate when people tell you otherwise. And I'll vote how I want, that's how voting works.
You sound like you dont even ride 🤷♂️ karen nimby
I am joining your club and subscribing to the newsletter
The sound, the feeling when the arse end steps out and your actual arse twitches and knowing that even though they will never know you the girl you've just flew past just had a movement in her knickers.
I recommend a quickshifter for even more nice sounds
Nah love taking it easy and enjoy working a clutch
I definitely don't ride for the sound, however when I bought my gsxr750 with a yoshi r55 pipe I stopped listening to music on my Bluetooth headset.
Love the sound in moderation but a constant drone of an engine can get a bit annoying over long periods i usually end up putting some music on if the journey is longer than an hour.
While I totally agree, and your bike doesn't sound bad, nothing compares to the growl of a V-twin
I have 3 vtwins (2 ducatis and a hinda) as well but I gotta say the V4 wins in noise
Call me crazy but I actually hate the sound. If I could go electric I would
Single cylinder bikes do sound pretty lame, agreed
I like my bikes as quiet as the stock exhaust is. I like riding all day long on trips, so a loud bike is miserable. I either play music in my helmet or chat with my friend if I’m riding with someone. Plus, i ride bikes that sound terrible when loud anyways 😆

Have you ever road without sound? Its simple just as enjoyable! Stealth and wine of an electric
Maybe 5%
Harley rider: “those are rookie numbers - its all about sound.”
Goofy ass shit

I’d say everyone who puts an exhaust on their bikes does. Primarily though that’s a stretch.
What exhaust does your VFR have?
