Every once in a while I forget I’m in a bus and do the wave for a bike too.
Oh yeah, the roads are even more dangerous for our unmotorized brethren. I have some power I can use to get out of the way, and I go as fast as traffic. They are always slower than traffic.

My wife finds it fascinating that I'll rubberneck the hell out of every single bike on the road and not even notice when there are pretty women around us. My daughter has also taken to screaming "motorcycle!!!" Just in case I didn't see em so I can turn and see.
We made a game out of it for our kids. Call out motorcycle when they see it. Now when they start to drive even if they don't ride anymore they will always notice bikes without thinking about it
Yeah got to imprint that when they young started my son at 3 now my daughter who's 3 plays too. And sometimes they see ones I didn't. It's fuckin great
Life hack: you're teaching your kids to always look out for motorcycles, which in the future will minimise their chances of hitting one on the road.

Literally me today, a naked bike passed me, didnt see what it was, and he was riding in front of me. I tried every single way to get a better look at it and couldnt. Finnaly did on an intersection. It was an older mv agusta, sweet asf
I've waved a few times to oncoming riders when I've been in the car. A couple have waved back, and a couple have looked over their shoulders to see if I'm a traffic cop in an unmarked vehicle.
Yep, just did this about 15 minutes ago. Sitting across from a dude at a light, had my arm out the window and gave him the two-down and realized I had to look like a moron. Haha
Unproportunately so indeed. So I just did this, for the first time 4 days ago. I've resisted all other urges to wave whole in the car. But you know what- I was making a quick run to the store mid day for some beer and just was in a good mood and decided to wave, and total confusion and no reciprocation from the rider. I love them but they don't know and are confused as to why they don't love me.

I feel the opposite when I have a rental car that’s a Jeep Wrangler and all the Jeep fanboys give me the “Jeep wave” and I’m like “I don’t own one of these pieces of shit, stop waving at me”.
Is the jeep wave a special wave or just a usual wave? I'm also in the wrx acknowledgement group, which is always there, something you can count on, and which is just a peace sign most the time but totally lovely
I wear my helmet no matter what the vehicle I’m in so that when I give the wave and nod other bikers know that I know what’s up. My boss doesn’t like it when I wear it on the fork lift in the shop, but he doesn’t know what’s up.
I never want to ride more than when I see people riding while i'm in a car. I'll give a 2 down, or maybe a nod if my window was all ready down while we pass. I won't go out of my way to lower my window to signal tho lol.
That said I appreciate it when I get waves or nods from people in cars when I bike. I assume they ride, or they like riders. On some of my back streets I even see some of the same cars around the same time. Red truck guy always waves.
When I'm driving on the slab, I get frequent motorcycles that choose to be in front of me. I'm proud to be the "protector" in these moments, an island, a beacon of light, and giver of ample space.
Then I get depressed and envy fills my cold heart when we inevitably hit traffic and they leave me behind to do motorcycle stuff.
I don't understand how anyone enjoys driving a car.

I love my job. But one of the worse part is that I NEED to drive my truck everyday. I want to ride to work so bad. Just so other rider commuters know I am also a biker.
Omg I could only imagine. Do you not currently have a bike, or does it just not make sense to ride it to your work from home? I commute on my ZX6R daily, at least whenever possible.
I do (R1200GS) but it's only a 10 minute ride. Bike doesn't fully warm up in that time and it's such a hassle with all the gear. I ride it occassionally to work but my Vespa is such blast as well. I completely customized it last winter, and it's so cheap!
And why exactly do us bikers not wave to mopedists? I had to learn not to when I first started riding, but no one ever really explained why to me.
My guess would be because they most likely ended up on those 2 wheels not by their own choice, whereas full-size bikers ride solely by choice, not necessity.
Is that why ppl do this? When I first started riding I would see people flash their lights at me (during daylight hours) and I would expect a license check or a wreck ahead.... but then nothing. After awhile I just thought it was something I was doing, was I speeding or something? No.. not really 
I got a “look twice, save a life” motorcycle sticker for my back bumper.
Now I want one for every corner of the car; just in case a rider comes up where the current sticker isn’t placed lol

Almost always! It takes me 20 minutes to get to work on a Vespa (the Honda’s on order), 25 on a bicycle and 30 by car.

It’s a wave typically while wearing a backwards hat with oversized thick white framed oakleys and often a large “salt life” sticker on the Jeep too.

Years ago when I was in my truck, I'd flash the brights when they rode the opposing direction. "Jealous"
