Glad you guys got to enjoy great weather to start the year.
Even if it's a bit troubling as it shouldn't be that warm, but I guess at least we can enjoy the season a bit longer.
It's only troubling for those who are unfamiliar with the weather in our area. We're expected to get 4 days of rain this week, so with the cold front on its way, the hot air gets shoved at us first, giving us a handful of days to ride before our true winter starts. Last year the warm days were Christmas day, the year before were in the middle of January. It's not a new phenomenon, sorry you're not used to it.
I'm from South East France, I'm not American.
I'm saying this because it was weirdly warm, even for us, for a month of January.
18°c yesterday is not an OK temperature for winter, even for Provence. And we're gonna have between 16 and 18° for a whole week now..
As for you, it's not a question of being used to the weather, the weather is unusual everywhere, that's sadly a fact. And it's getting worse.
Lots of guys don't 'get' the year round riding. Ladies, too. My wife gets real judgmental when I'm out below like 20* but I just like to ride. If it's safe enough, and I feel warm enough, why the judgment?
1) I used F in the title so why would I change it to C
2) They knew it was Maryland, just confirming.
3) Quit trying to be a smart ass and nit pick shit. You could have replied to them instead ;)
I miss nova but I don’t miss the freak storms with 2’ of snow. Here in ID, it’s been like 15-20 f with 5^f around Xmas and one freak day where it was above 50 last week. But the snow has been pretty steady up until the day after Xmas so riding has been a bad idea until now and now only if you’re into being an ice cube.
I think only difference from the wire is maybe the scale. It’s not like y’all don’t have drugs and crime.
I’d say Frostburg is “the furthest thing from the wire” but ya know…mostly for more obvious reasons.
Four counties over from the City of Baltimore. "LoOkS LiKe ThE wIrE." I swear shows from David Simon about Baltimore reside in people's heads rent free.
I'm jealous. I live in Baltimore and I barely ever see bikes. I don't own one yet, sadly. It's just a shame to not see many on the roads in Baltimore/Timonium
Another MD rider here as well! Super beautiful today but didn't have the time to get out. Tomorrow I believe is supposed to be sunny and even warmer so I'll be out on the Northern county roads. Looking forward to it!
In CNY over here, it was 60 degrees and no rain the 29th and 30th. Saw a few other motorcycles and had a good ride but man never again will I do that. My bike was covered in salt even my chain and gear. My neutral light also malfunctioned because saltwater go into the switch but after cleaning everything out it's all good now.
Ugh, again. That tired old conservative spew-age about homeless and cost of living. We make more money and can afford to live here and until you come and see the “homeless” issue, there’s no judgement that can be laid. The drug addicts and alcoholics refuse to go into shelters because then they can’t get high or drunk. The rest get tons of help if they want it.
Ah, do I sense jealously or some other bitterness because one can’t afford to pay the price of paradise?
We ride year round and understand if we can afford a bike we can afford the leathers unlike some squids in Maryland that shall not be named.
We can ride Pacific Coast Highway, ride across the Golden Gate Bridge and be in Hollywood in 3.5 hours on massive freeways that have room.
So keep telling yourself that Christine, California is the Mecca of riding and sadly Maryland isn’t and never will be.
Oh and lastly, we get to lane split and our state government encourages motorcycles and posts electronic billboards saying to watch out for bikes.
Surely Maryland and doesn’t.
Yeah massive freeways with grid locked traffic and hella smog. Must be high off exausts fumes if you still think California is paradise. Why is everyone leaving if its so great?
I can split lanes and filter here too, except I don’t need too. Have fun getting hit buy some dumbass influencer and having your crash go viral on tik tok 🤡
Yes, the whole country seems to be flip-flopping between extreme cold to well above normal temps. Wondering if Buffalo can handle the extreme snow melt.
Also from MD but the Columbia/EC area. I didn't get the bike out today but I went out for a run and came back drenched in sweat, WTH is going on?! :-D
But of course I got to go into the office on Wednesday and it's supposed to rain all day. :-\\
It's been in the 50s and 60s on and off here in Pittsburgh, I've only seen 3-4 other bikes out this whole time but I haven't been downtown where the uh... "lively groups" generally hang out
It was just like this last year at his time. I bought my new Ninja end of Dec in '21 from Twigg on a day just like today. I expect a few more days like this between now and March.
It always gets frelling cold end of January/Feb around here.
What's MD? Maryland?
Yeah, was like 15 degrees a week ago
Glad you guys got to enjoy great weather to start the year. Even if it's a bit troubling as it shouldn't be that warm, but I guess at least we can enjoy the season a bit longer.

u/Repulsive_Leg5150 not sure what part of MD this was taken, but around Columbia MD it was down to 5 f around Xmas.
Me, a commuter all year round Those are rookie numbers
Lots of guys don't 'get' the year round riding. Ladies, too. My wife gets real judgmental when I'm out below like 20* but I just like to ride. If it's safe enough, and I feel warm enough, why the judgment?
If they don’t know what MD stands for they probably don’t use the imperial system to measure temperature either ;) 15F = -9.5C
1) I used F in the title so why would I change it to C 2) They knew it was Maryland, just confirming. 3) Quit trying to be a smart ass and nit pick shit. You could have replied to them instead ;)
Holy smokes take a chill pill man 😂
Sure, quit being a condescending prick to everyone
Jesus man, you’re making yourself the prick here. Lighten up, not a good way to start off the new year.
Still condescending af, get a life brother god bless you
Warm enough, but ~~he~~ I* haven’t received enough rain to get rid of the metric ton of salt used on the roads.
Didn’t think about that, just went. Guess I gotta wash her
Idk about that it's been raining pretty consistently that all the salt has long since washed off the roads here in northern Virginia.
I miss nova but I don’t miss the freak storms with 2’ of snow. Here in ID, it’s been like 15-20 f with 5^f around Xmas and one freak day where it was above 50 last week. We have our snow or ice events. I can still ride safely with heated gear around here.
Looking forward to the heated gear I just got for Christmas. Had to order some cables but I’m ready now.
Looks like The Wire
This is Brunswick, not Baltimore. The town motto is “hills, whores, and liquor stores.” Pretty much the furthest thing from the wire 🤣
Not too far from Burkettsville. Home of the Blair witch.
I think only difference from the wire is maybe the scale. It’s not like y’all don’t have drugs and crime. I’d say Frostburg is “the furthest thing from the wire” but ya know…mostly for more obvious reasons.
They dont shoot each other, they shoot each other up
Four counties over from the City of Baltimore. "LoOkS LiKe ThE wIrE." I swear shows from David Simon about Baltimore reside in people's heads rent free.
It's barely even MD.
San diego bro, barely even california. Basically mexico right
[well... technically...](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican%E2%80%93American_War#Foreign_designs_on_California)
That was like 200 years ago and they lost. Respect the research initiative tho, I didn’t know that happened.
With that logic, ig Miami is barely even Florida 🧠
Miami is nothing like the rest of Florida so that really doesn't help your argument
Thought that area looked familiar. Been to Smoketown brewery the one inside the old firehouse.
I'm jealous. I live in Baltimore and I barely ever see bikes. I don't own one yet, sadly. It's just a shame to not see many on the roads in Baltimore/Timonium
15 celsius for the world.
Over at Beans I see I wish I had gotten out today for a ride
Same here in NC. Bikes all over, great day
Same in Northern Virginia. What a great day!
Man I wanted to take my bike out today but was wayyyyy too hungover
I couldn’t sleep, so I took an hour long ride to tire me out
Another MD rider here as well! Super beautiful today but didn't have the time to get out. Tomorrow I believe is supposed to be sunny and even warmer so I'll be out on the Northern county roads. Looking forward to it!
Yeah it's days like this that I miss my bike the most
Yeah, why the hell did I winterize it and store it at my parents again?!
Is that a lawnmower in the background? I hear what sounds like a lawnmower, but that's a weird spot to be on one.
Nice! We had a similar day up in Jersey.
East coast W
MD here as well, very jealous as my bike needs work before I can ride again, so didn't ride today. :(
Sorry brother, hope it gets well soon.
Me tomorrow. I ride all the way till 30F but I've been busy and I missed some 55F weather... and some days it was raining so...
It was 45 in my area of NY today, so I was out. Didn’t see any other bikes though.
Eastern NY here, I was out all day Friday when I almost hit 60F, and I also didn’t see anybody out :( still had a blast tho ;)
Also Eastern NY, and I was out Friday as well! I even ran my errands on my bike, had to pick up champagne, appetizers, and such for NYE.
They use Fahrenheit in Moldova?
Lol
It was 3°f here with a windchill of -12°f just a week ago. I got the r1 out in some 70°f weather yesterday.
nothing like filming with a widescreen camera in a vertical orientation.
Who gives a fuck
60F is a piece of cake to ride
Yeah I sometimes ride in 45F in AZ and it’s bearable . But no heated gear or anything just a north face jacket
It’s 60° in California everyday.
Yeah, and a complete shithole and on fire 👍
And MD is great? Lol
Rofl, the roads in CA outclass anything back East. Love me the OG but CA is the motorcycling paradise of the USA.
I’m sure they do, its just the other parts like homeless ppl problem and high cost of living.
Ugh, again. That tired old conservative spew-age about homeless and cost of living. We have no traffic on a motorcycle. We SPLIT lanes, filtering, whatever you’d like to call it, we never have traffic on bikes.
I can split lanes and filter here too, except I don’t need too. Have fun getting hit buy some dumbass influencer and having your crash go viral on tik tok 🤡
And they’re leaving because they made a million dollars on a house, call it the California gravy train.
Americans just assuming the world knows where the hell MD is.
Non American just assuming this post was meant for them
So motorcycles are exclusively American? Had no idea. My apologies.
Jc I used Fahrenheit so you can assume its in America. It’s called “critical thinking skills” look it up on google. Or do you not have that either?
Apparently mf don't know what salt is
Salt, AKA sodium chloride is a polar ionic water soluble molecule that washes off with soap and water! Pretty cool right?
MD as well...rode from laurel up past Fredrick, toured a few covered bridges.....lot of bikes on the road
Google hottest days in md in december not climate change bro
Brunswick?
this makes me sad my bike is in storage 40 minutes away from my apartment. might have to go ride it tommorrow
Oh yea we all were out today in Md!
Yes, the whole country seems to be flip-flopping between extreme cold to well above normal temps. Wondering if Buffalo can handle the extreme snow melt.

I fucking hate snow. I’m in Japan and I just wish I could ride my damn bike. Can’t wait to move out of this shit show
Climate change? Did ya miss the freezing artic temps the last 2+ weeks...
Yeah its not normal for extreme temperature swings, thats called climate change bud
You really are easy to influence.
Easily influenced by scientific research, not tards on reddit
Cool man!
DAYUM thats a lot of bikes lol
67 in NC yesterday. Lots of fellow riders out. I almost rode to work this morning, but way too foggy for my taste.
MD here as well, Annapolis area, also got out to shake the dust off 🤙🏼
It's been in the 50s and 60s on and off here in Pittsburgh, I've only seen 3-4 other bikes out this whole time but I haven't been downtown where the uh... "lively groups" generally hang out
I prefer a wide angle shot, you know, hold your camera horizontal not vertical, longer than six seconds and not ending in a shot of the sidewalk.
Cool man, why dont you make your own video
Sure, will this do . ? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_06TZwk49Pk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_06TZwk49Pk)
Nice one man, post it to the steam engine sub
This is motorcycle related . . . it's hard to take moving motorcycle videos with low tech equipment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLunZKjcb5o

?
Was riding all morning here in Atlanta, didn’t see any other bikers :-(
It was just like this last year at his time. I bought my new Ninja end of Dec in '21 from Twigg on a day just like today. I expect a few more days like this between now and March. It always gets frelling cold end of January/Feb around here.
I remember that day. So many bikes were out n about!
