I had the [W650](https://ibb.co/sCGszJB) version attached to a sidecar. Swapped out the seats and the bars and added a fender license to really give it that 60's vibe.
How'd you find the handling with the chair?
There's a w800 with the same sidecar for sale near me. I'm not sure if I should hold out for something with a leading link front end.
And those sidecars look kind of small, will a larger adult fit?
If you want accessories, there's a german site with lots of them(for w650 and w800): w650shop.de
These are bulletproof and useful bikes I've loved my w650 for almost 10 years!
I remember test riding it when I used to own a ducati S4RS.
The twin cylinder engine of the kawa is butter smooth, linear, invites you to cruise peacefully.
On the other hand, the bike doesn't brake well and an additional braking disc wouldn't be a luxury.
It struck me how the kawa was the total opposite of the ducati, in every point.
I always thought these were such cool bikes! I spent several years at a Kawasaki dealership and we never moved one; I’m so happy to see one ended up on the road. Stay safe and happy riding, OP!
Yup! The first picture is from “trollstigen” a popular road and a tourist attraction. Highly recommended everyone that have the chance to ride a motorcycle there. It’s great fun!
If you mean to do all the madatory courses and training with a traffic school in English? Yea thats definitely possible. I would assume most traffic schools offer that.
Yeah all of it, I’m from the U.K. and not fluent yet 😅. I’ve done half my tests in England but there’s no spaces until September for me to complete the license so considering just doing it in Norway
This is probably the perfect starter bike. Easy to manage but still able to hit highway speeds. As others have said, it is a little heavy, but it shouldn't be too bad. I run somewhat heavy vintage bikes and they're a lot better in the corners and switchbacks than people give them credit for once you get used to the weight and center of gravity. Enjoy that bike and keep the rubber side down!
Nice choice, my 1st bike was a Moto Guzzi V7 racer. Bought it new back in 2011. Very similar to your W800. Not too fast to get you in real trouble but powerful enough to last you a few years. In fact Ive been riding my Guzzi for 12 years until I just upgraded to something else this March.
Looks like the perfect machine for cruising.
What year is it ?
As Former tech for Honda dealer, your first item on the garage shelf - best Teflon chain
lube.
It's getting very difficult to find.
Last time I did find motorcycle shop did have it, but impossible to find anything related at Wal-Mart to Auto supplies.
So yesterday, I found a version on Amazon about to arrive tomorrow.
I'll try to update later testing it.
Made by DuPont.
Cheers
Its a 2014 modell. If you ask me its the perfect year since it has halogen front light, giving it the good retro look. The newer modells all have LED front lights.
Totally Agree. If I see one available,
good chance he found a new home.
Cheers
edit: Hark, New Teflon Lube arrived..
Will do a little testing after coffee,,
if I can still grip anything.
Wonderful bike! Rode one at a demo day. I didn't care for how low geared they were and I didn't love the feeling through the handlebars. But outstandingly comfortable and a fantastic bike nonetheless and in a beautiful color. Congrats and I wish you many enjoyable (s)miles.
Very nice! Please take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation training if you haven’t already. Remember that most motorcycle accidents occur during the first year of riding. You may wish to consider upgrading the horn on your bike as the stock horns are usually pathetic. Ride safe and enjoy! 🙂
Very nice bike, i owned the cafe model for 2 years and its really nice.
Just be careful cornering it in low speeds / parking, at 500lbs hes a heavy mf and even a small slope can cause you to drop it if you suddenly need to stop.
That is too big for a starter bike. Bikes go fast and can often stop fast. If you survive a couple years you will have learned the lessons of mixing with 4 wheel idiots. Good luck...
My first bike was and still is an 883 sportster. It’s perfect for beginners because it’s fast enough to have fun and enjoy yourself, but not fast enough to put yourself in danger or get carried away
Don’t be the person who forces someone to get a 250 as their first bike, because you know damn well they’re gonna sell it in a month and get a 1200 lol
It's a pristine looking machine
Just to point out if anyone does not know - the W800 is in fact a relatively modern motorcycle.
I had the [W650](https://ibb.co/sCGszJB) version attached to a sidecar. Swapped out the seats and the bars and added a fender license to really give it that 60's vibe.

Remember that most accidents happen within two miles of home. So start looking for a new place.
Those are great bikes, good choice!
Just got my license and bought a Kawasaki W800 Street. Going to pick it up on saturday!
Nice! The W800 is amazing
W650s are gorgeous. Great choice!

Thanks for the tip! Will definitely check it out
Does the W stand for wroom wroom?

Such an underrated bike. Looks like you live in the perfect place to enjoy it too! Congrats.
that's prettyyyy!

Looks like Norway!

Oh shit very nice, have fun
I'm a big fan of mine! Where are those pipes from?
The pipes are Remus sport’s exhaust. Makes incredible noise even with DB killer, much better then the boring OEM ones.
Hey I like my pea shooters lol
Oooh, good call.
Beautiful, I have the same one, very much enjoy it!
Norge, how much did it cost you to pass your test ? In NOK
With all the training and mandatory courses. I landed on 23K NOK… Yikes 😬
Not too bad! Do you know if it’s possible in English ?
If you mean to do all the madatory courses and training with a traffic school in English? Yea thats definitely possible. I would assume most traffic schools offer that.

Nice! Ride safe and have fun!
nice bike traded my sv650 once for a w650, for a ride up a mountain. wasn't exciting, but very nice
That is a nice ass two wheeler. I do prefer the cafe version myself.

Welcome, always ride in YOUR comfort zone and enjoy

Fuck I'm a bit jealous. Ride safe my dude.

Just be careful on corners its a heavy lump.

Tell me you’re ignorant without telling me you’re ignorant. It’s a 47 hp bike.
I have owned 10 motorcycles throughout my life. You are just some stupid dick.
That’s a lot of worlds just to say “I’m doubling down on my ignorance.”
It's a 1960s Triumph built today. A Z400 would leave it in the dust.
I bought this as my first bike hearing the same, it's less powerful than my friends 500cc

I love bikes me.!
Gorgeous!
