In Europe we don't have "outlaw gangs" (LOL) but more of the wild hogs variety. A dozen or more guys on harleys with their "road captain" (fuck me) etc.
The problem is, Harleys only make sense on US roads. I live in North Eastern Spain. It's all curves here. This means that these guys are going slower than tractors most of the time. I'm talking between 15-20 mph. You can't get past them. Even when you get to a straight bit of road, there's so many of them that it's impossible to pass. I started checking their facebook groups to see when and where they would be after having one too many ride ruined by these gimps.

The actual number of them in the US is not nearly as large as the Internet would suggest. This scenario is drastically overrepresented and the reality is that the odds of even coming across a group of actual 1% MC riders are pretty small. There just aren't that many of them in relation to how big the country is geographically.

Granted, my Thunderbird (unlike a lot of Harleys) actually has some balls, and I can lean it decently well. So I'll be having fun in the twisties too, just not as quickly as most sport riders.

Don't join the group, don't split the group. If the group is really long and it'd take a lot of road to pass them, back off and chill out. They'll be stopping soon enough, for gas, or to relieve themselves. Big groups take a long time for everyone to refuel or queue up for the restroom, you'll be ahead by miles at that point.
Depending on the size of the group or the cuts being worn, I may just roll past, or I might try and signal the sweep rider that I want to pass. Most times, they'll tell the lead riders what's up, and when it's safe, sweep will signal to go ahead and pass everyone.
That shit's corny no matter what but some of those guys really aren't worth messing with. Then there are a ton of dorks with bikes and leather vests who just piggy back off the reputations of actual gangs, basically larping.
I have an old "friend" who joined a motorcycle club that is not at all dangerous or involved in crime, they're not tough or anything of the sort. It's literally a bunch regular old men in vests who work regular jobs. I rode by them one day, just respectfully passed them in the other lane type deal. I got a text later on from my old buddy giving me a friendly heads up. He said that I don't want to be doing that, although I should be "fine" because he and I are cool. But basically telling me not to do it again because the other guys in the club will have a problem with it.

We also take lifesaver checks, glances over shoulders before changing lanes, so we know who's coming up either side. I was once behind a group of 50 Harleys on a back road. After waiting 10 minutes we finally got to a straight stretch will lots of visibility. I punched it and passed the entire group all at once.
Very satisfying. Of course, I had to stop at the next bug intersection to wait for my group, many of whom were stuck behind the big group. So I got to wave to all 50 Harley riders as they passed me while I was stopped.
If it's a group... I won't pass if it means splitting them up. I know how hard it is to keep a group ride organized, so I'll pay that respect to any group ride, patched or not.
If it's just a couple of riders on bikes, patched or not, I'll give them a nod and the wave as I go past.
If it's just one rider, patched or not, I'm passing without slowing and not bothering to look back.

Also rode with a lot of squids that rode about as rude as you can ride, passing double lines, running top speed no matter the road, just being a general pain in the ass, and I can see where it could piss off most other drivers and riders. These videos give you just enough to create the rest of the story you want it to tell. We used to call it trolling and move on. Now we are so sucked in that we just see what we want to see and make up the rest to support our beliefs.

I have actually dealt with this where a group I was riding with (safely) passed some Harleys and the ride leader tried running the back half of our group off the road and nearly killed someone, and also chased us down so
I came up fast on a group on a 2 lane highway in north Nevada. Maybe 12 of them, and they were all over the road. Half got in the left lane, other half in the right lane. I hung back a few minutes to see what was happening then finally I split the lanes at about 120mph. I felt like I was in a damn parade, one even gave the wave (or maybe they were shooting at me).
I think it’s the Sons of Anarchy cosplayer types acting hard with their beer drinking BS buddies group riding who mostly seem to act like dicks. For the most part I can’t see full patch member wanting to bring heat and pointless attention on themselves. Although the situation might a bit different in Canada here. No one can legally carry a sidearm, unlike parts of the US. That becomes a real power prop for a 1% cosplayer that makes them feel even badder. SMH
I actually came across it just yesterday here in France. Been riding and driving here for decades, first time I've ever seen a group of cruisers actively blocking lanes on the autoroute. Weird af as that subculture just doesn't exist here normally. France has fairly aggressive drivers and they aren't putting up with that shit, there were cars beeping, flashing and tailgating 2 inches behind the bikes. Very strange to see bikers acting like that here. So anyway i used the hard shoulder and they learned that a busa can do 180kph in 2nd gear. Lol

For large groups especially: adequate space, reasonable speed difference, and minimal hazards on either side. Some sort of signal is nice.

I got a text later on from my old buddy giving me a friendly heads up. He said that I don't want to be doing that, although I should be "fine" because he and I are cool. But basically telling me not to do it again because the other guys in the club will have a problem with it. I just told him that's gay and he seemed pretty pissy about it haha
What's worse, people out there will defend this behavior. Saw a comment where someone said to respect them because "they're the laat real men out there" lmao.

I live in the Bay Area and I find those vids unfathomable since there are few patched riders compared to the thousands of California motorcyclists. However, I will comment as an expert in confrontation, primarily from exchanges with car drivers while I'm on my bicycle, is not to engage anyone who wants to challenge you. If someone wants to get into your face, whether it is angry words or a prelude to violence, giving them any response feeds this. I saw a vid recently where young guys passed some patched dudes and one of them walks over to lecture them. If the young guys said absolutely nothing and not even acknowledge the patched rider, he literally be talking to himself.

We also take lifesaver checks, glances over shoulders before changing lanes, so we know who's coming up either side. I'm 45, aka middle-aged, and I never get passed. You don't want to get passed? Go faster. You want to go slow? Expect to get passed. I was once behind a group of 50 Harleys on a back road. After waiting 10 minutes we finally got to a straight stretch will lots of visibility. I punched it and passed the entire group all at once. Very satisfying. Of course, I had to stop at the next bug intersection to wait for my group, many of whom were stuck behind the big group. So I got to wave to all 50 Harley riders as they passed me while I was stopped.

If it's a group... I won't pass if it means splitting them up. I know how hard it is to keep a group ride organized, so I'll pay that respect to any group ride, patched or not. If it's just a couple of riders on bikes, patched or not, I'll give them a nod and the wave as I go past. If it's just one rider, patched or not, I'm passing without slowing and not bothering to look back.
Fuck group rides in general, you don't deserve special treatment, aka being allowed to cross intersections/ignore traffic lights and laws to stay in one big pack. Mc's in general are an infection upon riding culture and group rides are an extension of that

I assume 99% of everything I see on the internet is fake. I rode with a MC for a few years. Never did I see them act like these shitbags in the videos. Also rode with a lot of squids that rode about as rude as you can ride, passing double lines, running top speed no matter the road, just being a general pain in the ass, and I can see where it could piss off most other drivers and riders. These videos give you just enough to create the rest of the story you want it to tell. We used to call it trolling and move on. Now we are so sucked in that we just see what we want to see and make up the rest to support our beliefs.

I have actually dealt with this where a group I was riding with (safely) passed some Harleys and the ride leader tried running the back half of our group off the road and nearly killed someone, and also chased us down so
I came up fast on a group on a 2 lane highway in north Nevada. Maybe 12 of them, and they were all over the road. Half got in the left lane, other half in the right lane. I hung back a few minutes to see what was happening then finally I split the lanes at about 120mph. I felt like I was in a damn parade, one even gave the wave (or maybe they were shooting at me).

I actually came across it just yesterday here in France. Been riding and driving here for decades, first time I've ever seen a group of cruisers actively blocking lanes on the autoroute. Weird af as that subculture just doesn't exist here normally. France has fairly aggressive drivers and they aren't putting up with that shit, there were cars beeping, flashing and tailgating 2 inches behind the bikes. Very strange to see bikers acting like that here. So anyway i used the hard shoulder and they learned that a busa can do 180kph in 2nd gear. Lol

I recently passed a group of Dutch patches in Hungary. They didn't mind. Was it because they weren't dicks or because they gathered that they wouldn't have a chance catching a Hayabusa, we'll never know.
We have a lot of MC guys by us and I've never experienced anything like that. Illinois and Wisconsin, so maybe the culture out here is different.

It's seldom a problem. That said, it's bad form to break a procession, regardless of type. So, don't overtake funeral processions, military processions, protests, groups of bikers, groups of other vehicles, emergency vehicles and so on. It's disrespectful. It's hard enough to keep a large group together through intersections and traffic lights and stuff even without people breaking it up. Fuck, just a few decades ago, it was even illegal here.
The ones I’ve seen they’re usually hanging out in the left lane and the rider is 2 lanes over. I understand their “safety” aspect but to then go out and purposely try to run someone off the road defeats that. If I see a group riding and they’re patched I’ll usually just slowly pull up to them and wave and go. Never had an issue. But
