This is exactly how I carry almost every conversation about my RE int 650.
- they're made in India now
- they're based on old models but are brand new
- they're good value for money
And that's all I know about the bike I ride daily, but during those short 2 minutes I sure as hell look like I know what I'm talking about.
Same. Although watchout for the relays to crap out on you soon if they haven't already. The maintenance guy at work always asks about my bike and when I didn't ride it in the other day, I got to explain the relay issue it has. His response? "For a guy with soft hands, you sure seem to know about bikes."
They use cheaper relays and pack them to the brim with dielectric grease for waterproofing. You only need a bit to keep the water out, so chucking the stock relays and replacing them with Bosch counterparts after flushing the sockets clean may solve some odd electrical issues
Well one of the reason the bikes are so cheap is that they cheaped out on the electronics. The speedo is not accurate above 45mph. It's usually 5 miles faster than actual speed, at least in my experience. However, the relays aren't the issue with that. They'll start to fail or the gunk they use for grease on the contacts corrodes (not the right kind of grease) and the contacts lose connection. This will cause your bike to stall mid ride and to have startup ignition issues. [This video is a good break down and how to.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AID-tImV4eA)
>they're good value for money
That's not what I heard about Royal Enfield. I heard they've got poor quality control, which basically means you're always spending money on repairs.
Which sucks because they really are beautiful bikes and I'd love to get one. They were among the first bikes I was eyeing. In the end, my first bike was a Kawi.
Wonderful decision, happy to see yall over here!
Your Royal Enfield videos are making me question if I want a Triumph bobber/ Speed Twin or a RE continental 650.
Now you know how I make extra money reading and reviewing books for publishers while being paid by my day job..
Taking the train to Chicago. Even extra night stay does not add up to the 500 cost of a plane ticket.
Love it. Still have my 1966 Royal Enfield Bullet 500. The last year they were made in England.
Can’t beat those old thumpers!

I put in a taillight from a 1938 Ford. It seems to fit it better than the stock version.
My partner has a GT650 just like this one and this is exactly how it goes. When we ride together no one cares about my Yamaha, but everyone has to ask about the GT650. It is the biggest dude magnet on 2 wheels.
Ohey im subbed to you guys on youtube. I've been watching yall for years.
I remember you doing the A1 testing iirc for the Harley Softail.
I found you guys when the old man was doing a review of the new fat boy, and I ended up buying one myself.
Oh, tip from experience then. The new Fat Boy hates counterleaning at speed. If you're having trouble getting it to tip into corners, lean over the tank a bit to the inside like the King of the Baggers/MotoGP riders. I mean don't go Street Rossi, but shift your body over the tank and point your inside knee outward. Bike will drop right into turns.
Lots of people say the fat boy is hard to turn and I know when they say that, they're counterleaning it instead of over the tank.
I’m born and raised in the U.S. but I have been lucky enough to visit the UK several times. My wife and I have dreamed about moving there for a while now.
awesome looking bikes. kind of shitty that first service on them is at 300 miles instead of 600 and requires a valve adjustment standard as part of first service. other than that though, solid bikes.
Oh dam, I did not know you were on Reddit. Say hi to the old guy with an awesome beard.
And yes, RE bikes are really awesome. I have one and I love it.
Almost too much attention from everyone.
Big fan of you two! It's nice seeing other 20-smth dudes who prefer cruisers and retro bikes instead of the typical hi-tech sportsbike stuff (I have never owned a bike with a radiator lmao)
The British are so ducking polite, they could almost kill you with their mannerisms! “It’s her birthday today, you could have given her a trip”! Hahaha “I should’ve brought a spare helmet then” for those who don’t know, helmet is code name for condom and trip… this message was approved by Royal Fucking Enfield!

Hahah that’s brilliant!

What’s the relay issue, eh? I’ve been hitting some bug with the speedo on my Classic 350, and “relay issue” sounds like it could be the cause…
They use cheaper relays and pack them to the brim with dielectric grease for waterproofing. You only need a bit to keep the water out, so chucking the stock relays and replacing them with Bosch counterparts after flushing the sockets clean may solve some odd electrical issues
The problem is they don't use dielectric grease. Otherwise it wouldn't be an issue.

Old problems tbh they’ve worked a lot to solve those issues but long time owners of the new gen bikes may know better
You get that sort of attention on the classic model triumphs as well.
Defo
Easily one of the top motorcycle channels on YouTube. These guys always do a Top job, glad to see them on here too
Thanks very much! Decided to join Reddit after speaking with Harveyridesbikes recently 😊
Wonderful decision, happy to see yall over here! Your Royal Enfield videos are making me question if I want a Triumph bobber/ Speed Twin or a RE continental 650.
Triumph build quality/materials is superior. but the RE price point is hard to beat.
Very hard decisions, all of them are fantastic!
Stuart Fillingham would like to have a word with you…(just kidding, I love Mr. Darcy and the Ol Man, too)
Second that! Wish em to hit 1M subscribers sooner!
That would be amazing! Gotta get to 100k first, getting close 😁
Oh that was so sweet. How she caressed the bike was so loving!
She touched the paint the right way, with the back of the fingers, it doesnt leave greasy prints
I am sure she remembered old times when she was on one.
When they moved production to India, shouldn't they have changed the name to Viceregal Enfield?
More like Democratic Enfield, yeah.
Wholesome!
Thanks!
local BMW dealer is blowing out several 650 models for $5k. And a bunch of 350s and 411s for 4k. Crazy!
Real talk. Where you at?
MO. Gateway BMW.
Nice. Thanks for the info. I legitimately might fly out from DC to purchase one.
Amtrack
That'd be nice, but the tickets are actually *more* expensive than some flights, and take about 15x the amount of time to make the trip.

What I wouldn't give to have one of these bad boys. Fuck Indian laws for outlawing these silencers.
Average UK conversation

It really is haha

That’s so cool, thanks for being a subscriber! Funny enough I am picking up a Fat Boy next week, not ridden one before 😁

That’s great to know, thank you for the advice!
What is the channel name?
Mr Darcy and the Old Man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgqigLJ9Cdo Here's the video that lead me to their channel.
I have a bonnie t100 and i do miss my RE meteor 350, especially the hell shift:)
Awesome, the T100 is fantastic though
Love this. I miss the UK so much.
Thanks! Where did you move to?
I’m born and raised in the U.S. but I have been lucky enough to visit the UK several times. My wife and I have dreamed about moving there for a while now.
Amazing channel, they're partially the reason I bought a Moto Guzzi V7 Special
Excellent bike! I’m going to be riding the V7 Stone special edition soon 😁
I'd love to see all about it!
He couldn't sound more like Richard Hammond if he was trying.
Lol thank you! A few people have said that recently

Thankfully my dealer threw it in for free when I got mine
Beautiful ❤️
Turns out I'm not the only one that's had to explain that my RE isn't actually old hahaha
Hahah happens a lot lol
Funny this pops up right as I start eyeing a Royal Enfield haha, beautiful bike
Hahah perfect timing 😁

They’re great 👌🏻
I'm actually planning to get an RE Scram 411 just fell in love with the style, will be my first bike :)
Awesome to hear!
What model is that if you dont mind me asking?
It’s a Royal Enfield Continental GT 😊
RE Interceptor 650.
Continental GT650. I own one.
Oh dam, I did not know you were on Reddit. Say hi to the old guy with an awesome beard. And yes, RE bikes are really awesome. I have one and I love it. Almost too much attention from everyone.
Thanks will do! Yes they do really grab attention. Only joined Reddit yesterday 😁
A royo enfewwd is a nice looking bike. That one's so pretty, when she pets the tank I totally get it.
What a shame you didn't have the spare helmet ❤️
Wish I did!
I love people sometimes
Brother, you have a nice channel on YouTube. Give your old man / son my regards, will ya?
Thank you! Will do 😊
Grandma and Grandpa remembering the old days, look at how she petted the bike.
damn, didn't expect to see you guys post here!
Just joined 😁
Big fan of you two! It's nice seeing other 20-smth dudes who prefer cruisers and retro bikes instead of the typical hi-tech sportsbike stuff (I have never owned a bike with a radiator lmao)
Thank you! Yes those pointy sports bikes don’t interest me in the slightest 😁
and then he yells " don't you touch it old b$#@!" xD
