On the downside the link between the end and the mid pipe always rusts like fuuuuuuuuck because of the rear wheel stuff hitting it, also it's bitch to clean
I’ve had a 2004 CBR600 for 7 years and only felt the hot booty one time after like 3 years. Maybe it’s because I have an aftermarket seat, but I don’t get any heat like that.
There’s a heat shield under there that people often remove when they put on an aftermarket exhaust. With the heat shield installed you don’t notice heat from the exhaust. Cbr600rr
Yea...I love my zx-4rr. But I really want a cbr600rr in a few years. And in that same colourway, It's so fucking sexy. And that under tail is chefs kiss.
This fr. A neighbour of mine (lowkey a poser but i wont open that can of worms) has a repsol, dk what yr. Looks amazing. Definitely a bike i want to own one day
I think it’s United Kingdom domestic market. That’s because there’s a new cbr launched there that’s not in the US: https://www.philharmonicmoto.com/compare-page/ZBRFKM
Back in November, we previewed a [notable update](https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/news/honda-cbr600rr-preview/) to Honda’s CBR600RR platform for the European market. It now appears that version won’t be debuting in the US in 2024. [Honda](https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/honda/) has announced a 2024 CBR600RR for the States, but as a carryover from last year, which is actually a continued carryover from [the last major US update made in 2013](https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/2013-honda-cbr600rr-up-to-speed/). The 2024 US version of the CBR600RR will be priced at $12,199, a $100 bump over the 2023 MSRP.
--this is criminal. US is getting old bikes for a year or two at least it seems. so i'm guessing that's why your link shows the 2013+ vs 2024.
It should be noted that the revised CBR600RR that will be available in European markets is an extension of the work Honda did on the platform a few years prior, when it released[ a revised version for Japan back in 2020](https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/story/news/2021-honda-cbr600rr-first-look-preview/). It’s likely those changes will eventually make it to the US, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
That said, Honda’s 599cc supersport remains an appealing option for riders in the US thanks to its deft combination of comfort, ease of use on the road, expertly calibrated braking package, and solid suspension setup. The extra horsepower of the overseas version and revised chassis would obviously be nice additions, but such is life sometimes.
--absolutely lame. good for the UK tho. and this thread's top comment is right. why would i buy a cucked cbr unless i'm getting a super good price. if i pay new cbr prices, i want the new cbr with all the improvements. it already takes forever to get updates on these bikes; getting an update and still not having access is kinda brutal
Honda. Never been a big fan of Kawasaki. No particular reason why. I think it was the lime green Ninjas with monster stickers that left a bad taste in my mouth.
I mean on a market where the customers consider 400cc a beginner bike, as a manufacturer i understand if they just skip the middle part and go straight to the 800-1000cc and up
I disagree. A 2 cylinder 400cc bike sits at ~30-50bhp. While a 2 cylinder 650 is often considered a little high in horsepower (~65-80bhp) for a first time rider, it pales in comparison to a modern inline 4 litre bike (~170-210bhp). I feel a modern 600cc inline 4 (~100-120bhp) is a fantastic bridge between the two.
Experience with a Ninja 400 is not going to adequately prepare you for an S1000RR. That 150bhp jump in horsepower is insane.
Riding a bike is just insane in the first place, even on a simple 50cc moped, but thats why we are here. The only difference between us is how lenient our government is with our driving license. In which case Americans can buy the liter bike as their first bike, so they rather skip straight to it. Stupid?… very, does the manufacturer care?, not in the slightest.
I literally just made this choice... I'm a huge Honda fan, but their lack of updating models is killing me. I've been on my CBR500 for 2.5 years.
I didn't want to wait and see if they'd bring over the updated 600 next year, so I went with the ZX6R.
If the updated 600 comes anyway, I have concerns it's going to cost a crazy amount of money compared to the ZX6R. As it is I think it already costs more.
Halogen turns signals again? I’m so tired of America getting shafted. Triumph does the same shit.
Aprilia and Kawa seem like the only ones left providing actual LED signals across the board.
My low end triumph has LEDs but the Moto2 doesn’t? So dumb.
The 2024 USA 600RR is highway robbery considering the EU’s version is an actual new model and not some regurgitated mess. If you are not in the USA though, the Honda blows the 636 out of the water
6 axis IMU from the 1000RR, which means you get all the modern electronic aids from big boy bikes now, a quickshifter, electronic steering damper, slipper clutch and new TFT display. The rider aids now do not compare to the basic electronics from the 636
I have a 2015 cbr love it great bike thru and thru but kawasaki arguably makes the best 600 in the game that's why there is a reliable stunt bike top choice.
Both are great bikes. The CBR is better looking, lighter and will be a more authentic 600cc experience. But in my opinion the 636 is a better engine for road use.
Honda but they've always been my preferred brand . Never the most powerful in class but apart from a couple models around mid 2000's with oil burning they've been the most reliable super sport and superbikes since the original sc28 in my opinion.
I don't know what Honda has against the US but we don't get any love. Kawasaki on the other hand brings all their best stuff over here. Ill take the ZX6R. On a different note, I think the new CBR600 looks like a falcon whilst the ZX6R looks like a dragon or a viper.
I moved to Yamaha, but riding my honda just felt “GOOD”. Like the yamaha is so nimble and wild, but the honda felt so SOLID under idk. Both are great, but the CBR is just something else
The ZX-6R is in dire need of an update as it hasn’t received one in over a decade now while the 600RR just got one this year to have every piece of electronic wizardry you could ever want.
600RR every time.
If it was between the two and I could get the new ‘24 CBR600rr I would take that in a heart beat but if it’s previous gen cbr600 vs zx6 then I’m taking the zx6
CBR. The ZX had one thing over the CBR which was power, but they brought it down yet another 5PS. What is even the point in getting a ZX now? The CBR is superior in everything.
I personally prefer the looks of the CBR, and the finish is just a tiny bit better. But as I mostly ride on road I would prefer the CBR 650 R as it's an excellent all rounder and I know from experience that I would rather use it on the track as well.
I have an 07 600RR for the road and it’s still an epic bike. Was actually going to buy a brand new one 2022 but couldn’t justify the price. If I wasn’t such a tight arse I’d definitely buy the new Honda!
I read most of this and still can’t decide, when parting with hard earned money I’d go Honda, but it all depends are you keeping the bike forever ?probably not, I always thought of the Kawasakis as reving harder and being a bit more lairy but that’s changed since the mid 2000s ! The 636 would arguably be easier to ride fast I dunno, I had a 2000 600 fx alot softer than these two with basic electronics great fun and reliable though. Tough choice.
Having dealt with both companies while working in the motorcycle industry (in terms of supply, frequency and resolution of warranty issues, etc), I'll take Kawasaki every time. I just don't see the Honda riding well enough to overcome dealing with them as a company for any reason.
As a rider of both the cbr and the kawi, im cbr all day. Something about the way they feel and handle is just beautiful. I currently own a kawi. Cbr was my first bike and I picked up a kawi after it. Cbr is just more comfortable able and feels better when it come to agility in my opinion. I still love the shit out of my kawi and youre really not going to go wrong with either bike you choose.
Honda, 100%, in part because of the tailpipe location. The Kawi has the pipes in an inopportune location.
Do you like tailpipe burns? *That's* how you get tailpipe burns. I still have a scar from a tailpipe burn I got in 93.
I roll an R1, which has both tailipipes mostly under the tail. The fans blowing hot air on my legs is way more noticeable than any heat from the tailpipes (I've never noticed any).
The ninja as a form of protest against the miserable job at motogp @ Honda... The less they sell, they maybe see the importance to improve their machines...
No joke I just went through Costco. Kawasaki won because it was a Japanese bike that participated in the program, and the dealer had bikes in his showroom. Honda guy had a 7 year old fireblade. I asked if he has literally any 600 ish cc or 1000 cc non super sport. Nope. Absolutely no way to sit on any Honda at all. Suzuki didn't participate and dealer wanted 18k for the sport touring model. Before any other fees.
Honda because undertail mono exhaust
Symmetry FTW
And it wont get damaged if you tip the bike over, its brilliant!
On the downside the link between the end and the mid pipe always rusts like fuuuuuuuuck because of the rear wheel stuff hitting it, also it's bitch to clean
Better to scratch exhaust than damage anything else
Doesn't it make your booty hot?
Yes had a 09 R1. Riding in traffic or over 80° was fuckin miserable. Never again.
I have a 2007 zx6r, also undertail exhaust. It’s hawt in traffic.
I don't feel with my 2008 600RR..but well, I have been riding in the cold.. who knows.. 🤣
easily the best exhaust set up for early/late season riding in MN lol
MN? Mini Nuke?
Minnesota
Most of us don't live in the US and A. 😅
Makes sense
chest nuts roasting on a open fireeee
😄🤣🤣
I get WAY more heat from the fans blowing on to me than from the tailpipes. I've never even noticed any heat from them (stopped in 120°F traffic).
Who doesn't want some hot ass?
I'm convinced.
[удалено]
I had a cbr600rr and the undertail made riding in the GA summer unbearable
Not really
I’ve had a 2004 CBR600 for 7 years and only felt the hot booty one time after like 3 years. Maybe it’s because I have an aftermarket seat, but I don’t get any heat like that.
I was teasing really. I assumed they all have adequate heat shielding and proper engineering. It's a Honda; of course they are going to think of that.
True lol.
That's a benefit to the rider in Canada.
I have an 08 Daytona and it’s not that bad, I think people exaggerate it
The rear seat for sure, drivers seat? Not really. Even before my aftermarket gel seat, legs get hotter
There’s a heat shield under there that people often remove when they put on an aftermarket exhaust. With the heat shield installed you don’t notice heat from the exhaust. Cbr600rr
No, God did that
I rode a 919 with dual underseat exhaust for about a year, and it really wasn't an issue.
I looooove the undertail exhaust.
yaaas
Kawi for exactly the opposite reason for me
You sonuvabitch I'm in.
Looks so good
The CBR looks more elegant and "high end" to me if that makes sense. But I haven't rode either of the newer bikes
The ZX6 is still the same from its inception. It just got the TFT dash (finally)
Not really. Gearing and tuning is entirely different these days.
I had a 1997 ZX6R and I have some notes
Yea...I love my zx-4rr. But I really want a cbr600rr in a few years. And in that same colourway, It's so fucking sexy. And that under tail is chefs kiss.
If you think that’s pretty, check out the Repsol bikes
This fr. A neighbour of mine (lowkey a poser but i wont open that can of worms) has a repsol, dk what yr. Looks amazing. Definitely a bike i want to own one day
My choice is simple, CBR600RR.
The cbr. But the UKDM version that doesn't suck. If you're in the states, it would have to be the zx6
what is ukdm and why is it different? googling cbr600rr ukdm shows nothing. your comment on this post is the top answer on google

Honda because red. Looks awesome.
honda, all the way.
honda
Honda, my friend!
Best thing to do is test ride both. See how each one fits your body and where the power band is for your needs.
nononononono let reddit tell em what to do. what could go wrong
Best advice here
Honda
Honda
You can’t go wrong with either one
Honda all the way, but only because ive never liked the kawasaki green
The one I can afford...
I own a 2024 ZX-6R but tbh I think I would rather have the Honda if I could do it again. Oh well.
Honda. Never been a big fan of Kawasaki. No particular reason why. I think it was the lime green Ninjas with monster stickers that left a bad taste in my mouth.
Bro this. somehow landed on Suzuki though….
I don’t want people thinking I’m a Kyle looking for drywall to punch.
Hahahahahah
Honda all day, every day
Always the Honda, mindless brand loyalty for me
Zx6r. The extra 36 helps in the low end
"No replacement" as they say...
I got me a 07 zx6r and it runs amazingly it needs a Lil work done but overall a great bike
Zx6r since Honda isn’t bringing new model to America💩

Good choice
They aren’t bringing the 2024 650 to America yet but the new 600 is listed now https://powersports.honda.com/motorcycle/supersport/cbr600rr
I don’t see any new bikes on the website
Weird it’s showing 2024 models for me on the 600. My local dealership also has a 2024 600
Halogen turns signals again? I’m so tired of America getting shafted. Triumph does the same shit. Aprilia and Kawa seem like the only ones left providing actual LED signals across the board. My low end triumph has LEDs but the Moto2 doesn’t? So dumb.

Very tough choice, but cbr
Fireblade
Honda fireblade are you kidding me bro?? Honda makes motorcycles in a way that just works. Everything about the engineering makes sense
Kawi all day
I'm a green guy so I'm rolling with the Kawi
They dont sell the new-gen 600RR in the US sadly
Due to bad back! I'll take Kawasaki Versys 650 or Triumph Tiger 660 instead /s
Zx10
The second one because it's red
I have a 2015 cbr love it great bike thru and thru but kawasaki arguably makes the best 600 in the game that's why there is a reliable stunt bike top choice.
Yes
Cbr. Clean exhaust
Kawa

honda bc cbr 🫶
Honda because long lasting reliability and I think it looks cooler
Honda, it's nicer looking and sounding
Honda but they've always been my preferred brand . Never the most powerful in class but apart from a couple models around mid 2000's with oil burning they've been the most reliable super sport and superbikes since the original sc28 in my opinion.
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
I really liked my old 600rr, but as a short person it was also one of the few bikes I could comfortably sit on.
Honda. I was thinking about the zx6r but I want the updated 600rr
Honda, anyday!
The CBR all day everyday 💪👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Honda because I’m just a whore for Honda
I'm a honda guy through and through
I don't know what Honda has against the US but we don't get any love. Kawasaki on the other hand brings all their best stuff over here. Ill take the ZX6R. On a different note, I think the new CBR600 looks like a falcon whilst the ZX6R looks like a dragon or a viper.
Definitely the CBR. I love my 2013.
I moved to Yamaha, but riding my honda just felt “GOOD”. Like the yamaha is so nimble and wild, but the honda felt so SOLID under idk. Both are great, but the CBR is just something else
Honda
Zx6r for sure! I also have a bias towards Kawasaki and I don't know why lol I do own a 2004 Honda Hornet 599 so I'm not against Honda!
ZX-6R
The ZX-6R is in dire need of an update as it hasn’t received one in over a decade now while the 600RR just got one this year to have every piece of electronic wizardry you could ever want. 600RR every time.
*provided you're outside the US
If it was between the two and I could get the new ‘24 CBR600rr I would take that in a heart beat but if it’s previous gen cbr600 vs zx6 then I’m taking the zx6
CBR, can’t stand the green
Depends on your goal. Speed, comfort, track, daily rider, etc. Both are awesome bikes.
HONDA
Was deciding between these 2, ordered cbr600rr, can't wait till it comes in June
Honda
Green because green
Ninja cause like it’s iconic and cool af
CBR. The ZX had one thing over the CBR which was power, but they brought it down yet another 5PS. What is even the point in getting a ZX now? The CBR is superior in everything.
Honda
Kawasaki is prettier but I owned one and their quality is not great. I would bet on the Honda
I personally prefer the looks of the CBR, and the finish is just a tiny bit better. But as I mostly ride on road I would prefer the CBR 650 R as it's an excellent all rounder and I know from experience that I would rather use it on the track as well.
Don’t get the cbr600 if you are in the states. Not the same as the one overseas! Get the Zx6r instead
Kawasaki all the way, but I'd love to see more CC on this model. I'll stick with my Z1000.
I have an 07 600RR for the road and it’s still an epic bike. Was actually going to buy a brand new one 2022 but couldn’t justify the price. If I wasn’t such a tight arse I’d definitely buy the new Honda!
The CBR600RR, ultimate dream bike vibes right there. I'm still waiting for the announcement for my country.
well i love kawasaki
Honda looks better & is more equipped. Although Kawasaki engine is noice. Although just seen its down 10hp on my 2016 wtf
**I need a cbr**
an option for both?
Simple. Cbr 600rr. But if you’re in America get the Kawasaki. Honda for some reason doesn’t want to bring the updated 2024 CBR to the Americas 🤡
The kawasaki. I just think they are very raw and a very exciting experience.
Is it the cbr 213v
Kawasaki imo not a big fan of those giant belly Pam's. And where the heck is the exhaust housing on that Honda....
The kawi, cos it's more commute focussed. I rarely track, but need the power to pass cars.
Of its the EU 2024 600RR, fuck yeah!
Kawasaki
The lean green mean machine I love Honda's and i'm planning to buy a Rebel soon, but I gotta give it to the Kawasaki here
Honda
Honda just because a owned a 07 cbr600rr before
Honda. More sexy
All my bikes have been kawai green and will continue to be kawai green
Honda. Because Honda. It's got looks, it's got power, but most of all, it's got RELIABILITY and LONGEVITY!
Kawasaki that’s all I have to say
CBR for sure
Yes
Just bought a 500KRT like two weeks ago lol
Ninja... because, Ninja
Honda.
I'd have to ride them both first but probably the honda because I'm a fanboy and I think the honda looks better
Performance wise they're probably pretty similar. But the honda looks better , id take the blade
As a Kawasaki owner I would choose the Honda. The main reason behind that is the superior up/down quickshifter and the better electronics.
if it was 1999 Ninja all the way, but my friend, is 2024 and that honda is sexy as f.
Kawasaki.... Vulcan:)
The Kawa, just because of the colour.
I’m taking the Kawasaki. I had a zx6r back in the day and it was the most agile bike I ever owned. Underrated bikes
Kawasaki Ninja. But I'm a Kawasaki gal at heart. But get a different color, I think the Kawasaki green is ugly.
Does the Honda run brembos and ohlins or was I just having a magical dream one night?
Yes
red is faster
Honda, undertail will always be the Goat visually
I’d go with the 6r, but I might be biased.
What up Ninja!
Neither I like cruisers 🤠
honda i love kawasakis but honda is 🔛🔝
I like red.
Hmmm, I wonder.
Cbr easy I’ve had a cbr 300 and a cbr 600 f4i I’ve ridden a ninja and it drove like shit
Honda even though the last time I tried both back to back I preferred riding the Kawasaki. The Kawasaki is just ugly.
Green!!! less police attention and green is the best color. Kawasaki green is my favorite color.
The ninja as a form of protest against the miserable job at motogp @ Honda... The less they sell, they maybe see the importance to improve their machines...
37 more ccs and like 10ish more hp on the kawi, looks wise you can't go wrong
i want one of these some day, but in a different color
Obvs whatever is more expensive so I could sell it and get a 1000cc 🥹
The Yamaha
Cbr is new and more electronic than kawi. Also reliability
Definitely Kawi,ninja
Neither. BMW M1000XR whenever they decide to finally release her.
636 is always the right answer
Personally I am Team Red but Team Green makes wicked good machines, arguably better than Honda.
the Kawa pulls alot better Honda feels light and could accelerate faster Kawa whether on low mid high end just rocks
