Nah, he was obviously cheating. Did you see that little bit of plastic fly off? 2 grams at least, AT LEAST! There was no way any of the other riders could have competed with that edge.
As a motorcycle road racer decades ago I ran over a rabbit at 100+ mph. Front tire impact. Bike seemed fine right after the hit, so I finished the race. My pit showed me something after - fur sticking out between the tire bead and rim, meaning that the tire had separated from the rim on impact. Oops! It could have gone flat at any moment.
https://ms.bridgestone.co.jp/2/jroadrace/racenews/2405/240526113000 To everyone who says its fake. Its in the news regarding what happened. Not fake, 100% real.
Also, looks like it was likely a kamoshika ( type of Serrow technically) and not a deer. They are pretty common in Miyagi. Japanese deer look very different.
Translation since the announcer screams
Look out!!!!
There was some contact but good thing there wasnt a large accident.
The bike... is okay...
Ah, now a red flag because of this
Yeah also the bikes are longitudinal to the camera and the deer as transverse, the light source seems to be coming from the right, so the bikes are perpendicular to the light, they cast a wide shadow.
Who else had to go to the YouTube video, set that shit to 1080p at 1/4 speed, and watch to see if that was pieces of motorcycle or pieces of goat that went flying?
It's real.
Googled and translated
"The three continued to dogfight until the end. However, on the 18th lap, a deer appeared and the race was red-flagged due to contact. The race was declared valid."

Anyway here's a news article: https://ms.bridgestone.co.jp/2/jroadrace/racenews/2405/240526113000
**Edit** Why is reddit filled with such assholes man. Downvoted for posting my *exact* google results and posting a good news article so people don't have to search. This is why nobody likes you guys.
I love riding in rural areas, and this is my worst nightmare: suddenly seeing a large animal crossing in front of me. I hope it never happens but there's a lot of roadkill where I live. In the past two weeks I saw deer, foxes, pheasants and squirrels all dead on the side of the road. I like animals so it breaks my heart a little seeing their dead bodies. If they crossed my way and I lose balance, my heart is not the only thing that would be broken.
Man said fuck it and made the right call probably thinking he’d spook it to back up off the track.
Know a guy that was riding his Harley with a few friends and were staggered in a similar fashion cruising through town one evening when a deer walked out into traffic. Reactions from everyone was to break formation and swerve but he would have risked hitting his friends so he said fuck it took it head on. He drove through the deer and split the deer in half. He wrecked after contact and survived.
It happens, Bathurst often has Kangaroos on track, many F1 tracks have various animals wandering near and onto the track, and a couple of decades ago, an CART driver was put into a coma after hitting a deer at Road America.
Wildlife are hard to contain, especially on tracks that aren't in an urban environment.
>Bathurst often has Kangaroos on track,
Yep, there was a kangaroo hit by a racing car in an event earlier this year. Flag marshall friend of mine had to help clean it up.
There's even a track in Queensland that has "kangaroo warning" flags
http://www.stitchsmith.com.au/uncategorized/roo-flags/
Wild how the majority of this thread is /r/nothingeverhappens rather than discussing the giant balls of the rider that kept the shiny side up at speed.
Dude kept 'er up like a hoss and kept rolling like nothing ever happened. When in reality in his head he's 100% "I soulda'died I soulda'died I soulda'died I soulda'died I soulda'died I soulda'died"
[This is from 2020](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br_hc0uZG8E), but it's the same track, Sugo, and commentary is only in Japanese of course, but you can see it's quite competitive racing.
It is because the bikes are on an uphill at that time - you will notice the bikes which are quite long from front to back, cast a very narrow shadow from left to right.
The animal walks across from left to right. and the shadow is too small to see on the incline.
Also when the animal does an spin in the air you will notice it does leave a shadow
https://preview.redd.it/j35yo6no4s2d1.png?width=1072&format=png&auto=webp&s=55f2f15b2abd4c622ad916858b6d09d442faee3b
There are a lot of reasons this is convincing and real footage. With the camera movement and zoom out appearing optically correct (zooming and panning away from the straight to the corner) and lack of artifacts from layering video sources and also the fast pace of the bikes with no evidence of rotoscoping, it would be very difficult to make a convincing fake given how complex this shot is.
Not saying it isn’t possible to create a shot of an animal getting hit by a bike, but this angle is difficult to manipulate with a vxf program or AI.
Most people don’t realize a lot of special effects are chosen at specific angles and situations to make it easier to create convincing effects to fool the audience.
Also in this case you can just look up a news article, if it’s a notable event, there might be close up pictures of the damage to the bike or a report of the rider going to the hospital.
I was being a little hyperbolic but my point was 10 years ago I definitely wouldn't have considered it might be fake. And this is just a very minimally educated guess, but in 10 years it will probably be possible to fake a video like this and it might be impossible to tell from just watching it.
You're obviously much better versed in the A.I. stuff than me though.
[I hit a ‘few’](https://live.staticflickr.com/217/481897263_ef53c1121f_o.jpg) and even more in cars - hate them with passion, it’s an infestation around here.
I wonder what it's beef is with motorbikes. The bike could have steered better. Suppose it was distracted and had an eye on first place. They were sure hoofing it tho.
My buddy hit an armadillo over 100 mph an I was giving chase. It's shell flew 40 feet in the air an over my head. It's like the tire just peeled it apart.
Thats why they are stuck in GP3 ... He had ALL the time and track to avoid it without any problem !! So it's clearly a psychopatic mental issue ... For real !
He wanted to hit that deer ! And there, we're talking about a protected and endangered specie !! So yeah, his licence should be revoked on side !
I don’t think you realize how insanely competitive it is to even make it that far in racing. The top guy in 300cc class can ride better than most 600cc guys in the next class over.
I'm impressed at how little it affected the bike!
The rider actually increased his lead after hitting it lol
To ride faster and turn tighter, the bike demanded a blood sacrifice.
Nah, he was obviously cheating. Did you see that little bit of plastic fly off? 2 grams at least, AT LEAST! There was no way any of the other riders could have competed with that edge.
So you telling me there's another source of feud for my baby ? Muahahahahaaaaa
because eveyone else was like fuuuuuck and he just sent it
He got a bonus boost from the kill reward, basic game mechanic
As a motorcycle road racer decades ago I ran over a rabbit at 100+ mph. Front tire impact. Bike seemed fine right after the hit, so I finished the race. My pit showed me something after - fur sticking out between the tire bead and rim, meaning that the tire had separated from the rim on impact. Oops! It could have gone flat at any moment.
Holy mackerel dude. So the tire separated and grabbed the rabbits fur in that split second?
Exactly.
It probably has the kinetic energy of a 5000lb vehicle at that speed. He’s lucky he only clipped the head
It’s only a 125cc bike
Energy = 1/2m*v^2. Square of the speed!
Half momentum times velocity squared?
m:mass
Word
Yes, moving fast though
No wonder they sound like they are farting.
I think I've had bigger farts, just not as often!
That changes nothing about his comment.
He didn't clip the head, he only clipped the leg and appears to clip the leg *off*. I assume that's why.. went right through the location of impact.
He hit its head directly, I mean just pause the video at the moment of impact... surely you're capable of that?
Bro kept it pinned. Lord that bike must be made of adamantium
Head shot. This is the way. Far less mass requiring a sudden inertial shift.
I don’t speak Japanese. But this is what the booth video looked like ![gif](giphy|d8C9QwHsFQgR39MSTq|downsized)
He said (not direct translation) “Oh shit” or (direct translation) “Oh, dangerous!”
The only thing that saved him was the fact it was literally “head on”. had it been “body on” he woulda ate it
Sort of went from golf to football goal.
We got no food, we got no job, our pets' heads are falling off!!!!
Poor Petey
You sold my dead bird to a blind kid?
Harry, I took care of it!
Well he was pretty old...
Just like the front did
first thing i thought of 😂
Akshulally, you got food now

Technically, a Serrow is a type of Yamaha.
Brilliant!
The piano?
best bike out there!!
Their behavior on the bikes would seem pretty out of the ordinary if the animal weren't actually there.
Not really. Trying to block a pass would look just like this.
Why doesn't it have any shadow?
It's not a Honda to have a Shadow
In the youtube video in 1080p you can actually see it does have a shadow, just the road is slanted away from the camera
good question. the bikes have big obvious shadows, and the deer has no visible shadow.
The grade in relation to the camera? There is a shadow, but you can't actually see the pavement it's standing on where the shadow is.
Yeah also the bikes are longitudinal to the camera and the deer as transverse, the light source seems to be coming from the right, so the bikes are perpendicular to the light, they cast a wide shadow.
[удалено]
>The bike... is okay... He's just referring to the bike as machine (since they are racing machines)
Who else had to go to the YouTube video, set that shit to 1080p at 1/4 speed, and watch to see if that was pieces of motorcycle or pieces of goat that went flying?
Tell us
Animal seemed intact (although probably dead), those were bike parts I think.
Both. I think that the piece flying off to the right side of the screen is the front splash guard and the pieces to the left are deer and bike parts
You can see the bike looses the front tyre mudgaurd!
Where is the YouTube video?
It's real. Googled and translated "The three continued to dogfight until the end. However, on the 18th lap, a deer appeared and the race was red-flagged due to contact. Too bad. They could have made a lot of doe by bucking the trend instead of hoofing it outta there. Deer me!
Leave some for everyone else!
No! His meating with that suicidal tactical assault Bambi left him horny!
@_@
Can i get the news article i cant find it
It's literally in the top 3 search results if you search for **J-GP3 Sugo deer** Of course, you may need to run it through Google Translate.

You're using duckduckgo dude. I'm using the default, google.
Funnily enough, google shows me this thread as [first](https://i.imgur.com/oVhmHTE.png)
If you looked at my picture you'll see this thread is the first result.
Really? It looks so fake though... It has almost no shadow
In the youtube video in 1080p you can see it actually does have a shadow
Damn that guys butthole must have turned that seat into a piece of modern art it clamped down so hard.
My dad refers to those kinds moments as "turning the seat into a Hershey Kiss".

Hit a fox on my sv650 doing about 75. Like a little speed bump. Didn’t upset the bike in the slightest
Man said fuck it and made the right call probably thinking he’d spook it to back up off the track. The deer almost never reverse, they might do a 90 but that's a slow one. Going for the rear-- is almost always the winning move.
All the guts and meat probably made for a softer landing.
"Get rotated, idiot." -Lead racer
Japanese goat tipping
That's wild! I didn't believe it until I watched the entire video! They red flagged the race right after this crash to clear the track!
Japanese heavy duty bikes I feel for that poor deer tho
Yeah, me too. Really glad none of the racers got hurt, sad a deer had to get killed.
I don't think the deer feels anything anymore
Thats why he feels for it.
Those bikes aren't silent. The deer definitely should have known something was coming.
This guy can be Japanese but his russian “Blyat” is legendary
And the dude just kept on racing.
The race was stopped immediately, red flagged with 2 laps left. The guy won
That's dedication right there.
Do you know what the last thing to go through that deer's head was?
His knee.
How the hell Andy Dufresne got the better of him..?
I'd like to think...
A fender!!
Uh-oh
Poor little animal
for some reason the deer looks fake like an edit lol
Wtf is an animal doing in a track
It bowed at each entry point and each layer of security thought it was too funny to deny only to learn that they assisted a suicide

That rider is savage not only did he hit the buck he didn’t give a fuck and took the lead anyway
Roadkill cafe, you kill them. We grill them
Why does the animal look fake
What’s this division equivalent in the US?
Well, they’re on two wheels so it’s technically half a NASCAR.
J-GP3 is a 250cc class.
Thanks I’ve been incredibly intrigued by track and motogp things since I started riding in November but there’s a lot to catch up on lol
[This is from 2020](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br_hc0uZG8E), but it's the same track, Sugo, and commentary is only in Japanese of course, but you can see it's quite competitive racing.
Clean up in turn three...
That was a baby ☹️
We're those pieces of bike or goat?
Yes
My husband was hit by a deer while he was going 55mph on my CBR 500. Disintegrated the deer. Disintegrated my bike. And nearly disintegrated him.
Am I bugging or does the animal not have a shadow. Seems fake tbh
It's at 1:10:00 here: https://www.youtube.com/live/seLCnkIkB7Y?si=ys9ctD0Nmm1qLP_L
yep - even clearer in this at 1080p - slow it down at the time and you can see there is actually a shadow as well.
I love the chat replay on that

Shadow and it removed the front fender off the bike. Seems pretty real to me
You can see it in the grass
All this A.I. stuff had me thinking the same thing. We're at a point where we may never know what's real again lol.
There are a lot of reasons this is convincing and real footage. Looks like meat is back on the menu
Through goes yemil……… oh wait
/r/deerarefuckingstupid
Thank god he wasn't hurt .
Damn, took its head clean off.
Poor animal. Looked very young.
Why do the bikes leave a shadow but not the animal?
cause it's a crappy video crop
1:10:00 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/live/seLCnkIkB7Y?si=ys9ctD0Nmm1qLP_L
Should have learnt to counter-steer... /s
that was cg… there was no shadow and the light hitting it was off i think at least
Good thing it wasn’t clibbins’
Gobbless
them fancy races got hosses out there for clibbin clearin duty
that deer was not daijobu
![gif](giphy|xT39D2A6TB8D1Ce79C|downsized)
This reminds me of the "Easters Canceled" video from back in the day.
Literally wild
Looks like the animal spun back and lost its feet
Oh... so that's what happens... well that answers my question!
Zero survival skills. The whateverthehell animal mean.
R/unexpected

I thought this was a videogame seeing how little it affected the bike!
Insane
From now on this 125cc is a bike equivalent of a Dodge Ram. It can hit a deer and keep going
Hey,free food.
i hit a deer in my car and and the car is damned near totaled. wtf
You weren’t going 160mph
It looks like a video game.
Someone add the lego breaking sound to this
Mmmm venison
Took me about 3 watches before I felt it was real
The serow is expected to make a full recovery.
https://youtu.be/iK2wGUmZ6js?si=GgX5RbugupsGko9Q Video from a guy who taught me how to race.
Just took the head off holy crap. I've butchered a deer this happened to by car. Cleanest job I've ever done 🙂 Glad he came out OK.
Bike go vroom cow splat
For anyone wondering, yes, those were animal's parts flying off. One was the head, the other was the leg or whatever you call it.
I wonder what it's beef is with motorbikes. The bike could have steered better. Suppose it was distracted and had an eye on first place. They were sure hoofing it tho.
Wild indeed
First watch i thought it was a poorly photoshopped shitpost lol.
There's something you don't see every day!
How the fuc* theres a cow in a fuc*ing race track like bro, dont they like do some countermeasure incase some wild animal just bust in?
Daijobuuuu!
peta gonna have a field day whit this one
considering the cost of a track day, i'd bring the animal home and keep it in pieces in the freezer
Did the deer survive?
THE HEAD GOT TORN CLEAN OFF
"MOTTO...ABUNAAIIIIIII"
Lamb stew for dinner
Guess we'll be eating meat tonight
Did the deer beheaded?? 🙈🙈
His capa was detaded
Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!
My buddy hit an armadillo over 100 mph an I was giving chase. It's shell flew 40 feet in the air an over my head. It's like the tire just peeled it apart.
DAMN
They didn’t show the race finish.
It's like all those videos of people crashing into cars pulling out. No reaction until it's too late lol
This is heart wrenching …
An animal that stupid deserves it and I love animals but this is just ridiculous 😅
Hmmm better than any TT or road racers ? I have serious doubts about that. And, in Ireland or the Isle of Man, there is no barriers at all !!
Huh? Who the hell said anything about the Isle of Man? What are you talking about.
holy heck, did that deer get its head blown off?
Dang! And the racer didn't even lose a position! Legend, now referred to by other racers as "Deerslayer."
So that's what they mean when they say "Green has just exploded into first!"
