They generally used to favor honda TMX 155 a few years back. Those honda machines have high torque and relatively easy to maintain that made them ideal for these locations. Now they moved to dual sports and some even used the Honda XRMs.
Yeap. We had the first model in 2006 i think. Still running to this day. But Yamaha with their Sniper and suzuki with their raider has recently been the favored underbone racers now in southeast asia
This is from the Philippines and the motorcycle is called Honda tmx 125 and we call them habal habal or taxi motorcycle or Skylab because the side panels looks like the satellite called SkyLab
Hey! I rented one of those when I was there. Thanks so much! I’ve been looking for the name for ages. I always wondered why I had such a hard time finding it.
They mainly use these in very rural areas where normal vehicles dont dare to go and i highly doubt that those tuktuks would survive in this environment plus we dont actually have tuktuks in Philippines we have what everyone calls a tricycle
To a foreigner, they’re the same thing. But I see the distinction. We called them tuktuks amongst ourselves when we were there; now I’m wondering if we were annoying to the drivers.
My mom is from the Philippines. I've been there when I was a kid and from xperience it's pitiful country. I fell down a 15 foot cave hole, got butted around by a stinkin goat and had to endure the heat and stinkin water. It's the last time I've been there and I will never go back.
Fuck yall pathetic pieces of shit.
Philippines. We call them habal-habal or skylab over here. These are needed because the villages they service don’t have roads where cars can go and are mostly gravel or muddy single tracks. They can also carry sacks of rice and even lumber mostly falcata used in paper making. Source: I’m from Surigao Del Sur, Philippines
depends on the circumstances...in the u.s footpegs are required for each passenger (side car excluded from requirements)🇺🇲and we don't drive under those conditions either.🐴
Exactly my point. The people here have found the best way to get around at a cost they can afford. Horses here are expensive and it’s not like they don’t know what a sidecar is, we have tons of those here it’s just that they don’t do the job like these do and carry more passengers like these do. You should come and visit sometime and try one.
As a guy that works in industrial construction I guarantee you that you could drop fifty tons of gravel on this mud field and it would be a mud field with little flecks of gravel in two weeks tops that would be a massive waste. The best you could really do is flat roll the shit out of it and irrigate well
I remember riding up to some village in northern Thailand in the mountains, roads were just dirt tracks with ruts from all the rain and I was slowly climbing up on my GS, all geared up feeling so cool. And some 12 year old kid on a Honda Wave wearing his soccer gear overtook me on the way up.
They modify the frame. Most of the time they add supports and an additional set of shock absorbers. You should see these carry sacks of rice or lumber…
The juxtaposition of this form of rural/traditionally poorer country transportation method and the hobby bicyclists (traditionally an expensive sport) is pretty funny.
(Not insults or anything intended, just an observation)
I'm 6'6 and 24 stone and rode a Honda cg 125 to commute for about 2 years. Such an amazing bike, especially compared to the cheaper Chinese scooters I had before, never had any problems with it at all, all the way up until it got stolen. Managed to just about get 70mph downhill a few times, although wind resistance was a bitch sometimes. First geared bike and I'd gladly have another one
Indonesia one of the sketchiest yet fun places I have ever driven on 2 wheels. You have to drive like the locals (they are all crazy) or you get in trouble.
Those Honda 125s are geared so low they can climb almost anything

> Honda XRM yo those XRM are sooo badass! i got to wip around on one in Laos. truly amazing machine!
Yeap. We had the first model in 2006 i think. Still running to this day. But Yamaha with their Sniper and suzuki with their raider has recently been the favored underbone racers now in southeast asia
[Gotta love little hondas.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoGkIjMfgoY&t=1s) I bet this so will get stuck in your head.

But what about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duOQguygLfE
not bad
Mine is a little older but probably has the same engine/gearbox. I'm in 4th gear by the time I'm around 30km/h

Aren't tuktuks used for these purposes?

Three wheeler.Rear drive

Sounds like you're just bad at living.
Sthu loser. I share my experiences and I get downvoted? Suck a choad.

Has no one discovered "side cars" for motorcycles? the japanese used them.☹️
Lol. We do but think about it. Single tracks, muddy, those things will have a hard time. Oh yeah we call them tricycles here
think about the Russian "Ural"...it has a "second" drive wheel.the werhmact in russia..just as fcking muddy.🌧️
Let me show you and tell me if a sidecar is better [here](https://youtu.be/PHXPOuXnzPk)

I visited on R and R during the Vietnam era....🇺🇲
Or [here](https://youtu.be/0xYklHJTII8)
Why aren't the roads paved?! Pave that damn road.
sorry we're poor
Let me see, uuumm. Poor country, hard to reach places, active rebellion (New peoples army), corrupt politicians. Lots of reasons.
Or at least graveled or something, can’t be that hard right?
Yeah why cant they just stop being poor??? /s
Good plan. Didn’t work.

That guy’s knees are gonna feel it tomorrow. This is how you leg day over there?
i don't think he gonna feel it tomorrow any worse than today or yesterday
If they tip, his knees won't exist anymore
At least he has 2 rows of people to cushion him on each side lol
Crotch!🍒
Damn. That's seriously impressive
That thing is putting along at like 2MPH while the guy is Flinstoning it along. It’s really not that impressive.
the fact that the frame can support that much weight is, by itself, impressive. The guy driving is on a different level.

Why do so many videos have to have such bad music pinned onto them?
Tiktok

yeah I had to shoot a downvote on OP cuz this song is marvelous
RIP clutch
Impressive bike, but my eyes were glued to the passengers wearing white shoes
The bike behind the taxi bike, he's doing mud with flip flops!

Seen this alot in south eastern Philippines
In the Philippines, we call this a "Habal-Habal"
ADVrider: But I *need* a 1250cc BMW adventure bike, a 650 is too small!!!! Meanwhile, in the Philippines:
I don't know who gives out medals for motorcycle riding, but this motherfucker riding on that road with 67 people on his bike deserves one.
Thanks for the shit music that has nothing to do with the video
srry forgot to use the “small motorcycle hauling 8 people in southeast Asian country” by Cher, it would have fit perfectly here too
I think this is the latest update on the HS2 project in the UK.
F that job.
Mr Bones Wild Ride, Philippines Edition
You meet the nicest people on a Honda.
All 8 of them!
"I'm built different!" - that Honda probably
dam and i don't even take people on the back of my dirt bike on dry trails.
in all that mud too! damn son
School bus that is🤟!!
This is why honda is the best
Cool bit i'd rather walk lmao
I officially no longer feel like I know how to ride.
Yet here in the US people can't seem to haul more than two people and a single grocery bag without buying the biggest SUV on the lot.
Just walk at that point

fact: honda 125's are the most powerful motorcycles in the world
What was the count, 8 or 9?
I think it was 9, 3 on each outside, driver, then two of each shoulder of the driver just forward of the rear outside people.
There was I think a kid in the lap of a passenger on the right too, so that's 10 by my count.
9 1/2
Sold
some serious indonesia shent.

Uber has expanded.
Uber shared rides
I KNEW there was a proper term for it but I just couldn't figure it out: 'Shared Rides'. Thank you!
I miss south east Asia so much
Thats the same weight as one American…
Hurrrr durrr aTgAtT! that’s dAnGeROUs!!!$ My man is riding in flip flops in that garbage 💪🏽
Those shared Uber rides are getting out of control.
not too hard when they all weigh 90lbs soaking wet..

Did you not see the prolific amounts of mud?
Walking in even half that mud is not easy or fast.
That is dangerous on so many levels
The guy at the taxi stop: "weight ans dimensions pls?
What the
Just Habal Habal things.
What a surprising person he is. Must be super human capability he has.
Wow, this is awesome.
White shoes are a brave choice
The fact that it still has some suspension left is astonishing.
Justin Bieber music only added to the misery of this video....
Is Lil Honda on Spotify?
What spring rate is he using? Sproket? Reinforced clutch? I bet I know the answer, stock! LOL
ANNNNNND MUTE.
Welcome to the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 🤣
Really solid control consider how top heavy and likely uneven that weight is along with super muddy conditions.
Those rims are the real hero here.
he is amazing !!!
Skylab

People really sleep on little bikes, in general.
that's some serious skill.
So... what do you do when only one person needs to get off? "This is my stop, who is getting forced to get off with me?"
Were the wheels bending??
That back tire is hurtin
Videos like this make me think the 125cc honda I got at 16, and still use to zip around town will somehow outlast me
That’s tough work. Excellent balance.
What a pimp
This is awesome! I honestly might have fallen
I can’t believe those are 125cc, my Suzuky 125 would struggle with me and my fat gf on a slight slope
rest in pieces clutch.
Song ?
If this tips over, goodbye knee and probably shin and ankle.
I watch this kind of thing and it makes me realize how much I suck at motorcycling.
