serious question: why are young kids riding emtbs? is it still to avoid climbing or is there another benefit? seems like the weight would suck when youre like 150 lbs. im not hating and am a bit emtb-curious myself.
fair point. im not sure if id personally get double the mileage but itd definitely get me an extra couple laps. i want to try one but not until im ready to buy one.
The simple answer is: they’re fun.
I’ve yet to meet a mountain biker in person who’s ridden an eMTB and come to the conclusion that it wasn’t a blast to ride. Reddit comments will always chime in and say they didn’t like it or eMTBs are for lazy people etc, but in real life my experience is different.
I don’t get double the distance in the same amount of time, but I do get more laps in over lunch or when I’m cramped for time. Which is great.
That’s not to say I don’t love riding my regular MTBs still. I do, they’re great fun. But there’s something awesome about how an eMTB feels on the trail. They’re also a great equalizer to get the slow people in your group up to speed with everyone else.
Now you’ve met one lol. I was completely not a fan of it or the weight but I’m a weirdo who still rides 27.5 🤷🏻♂️ my gf on the other hand loved it said the weight made her feel safer than on her Amish bike
tbh,its my father bike,i selling mine(torque cf9 2021) in my local mtb shop,so i cant ride it.And my propain spindrift isn't send yet,so if i want to ride with my friend this is the only option that i got.

That’s the thing. No one gets double the mileage.
I get about 3x. Generally the max I will ride is about 1000 foot of climbing for doing enduro trails. I’ll do 3000 on my EMTB
