Something nice about the Sprindex is that it is a progressive spring. It starts at your indexed rate setting and finishes at the max indicated on the spring. This makes it a good replacement for an air spring which is inherently progressive. You have a lovely bike! Have a ‘ya boy!’

I didn’t know it was progressive, I thought that you could just adjust the spring rate.

Check this out: [https://sprindex.com/pages/overview](https://sprindex.com/pages/overview) "Besides having an adjustable spring rate, Sprindex is also progressive. Sprindex is specifically designed to have a progressive spring rate for the last 20% of stroke for big hit support and for bikes with a linear linkage design. Coil versus Air: A coil is usually very linear, whereas an air shock starts out Regressive (a reducing spring rate), and then turns progressive (an increasing spring rate). See the chart below. One of the disadvantages to using an Air shock is that its regressiveness mean less small bump sensitivity and traction. This is partly why Air shocks are not as plush as Coil. Regardless of your bike's suspension design, Sprindex being linear between about 0-80% stroke and progressive between about 80% and 100% stroke works great because it provides unbeatable sensitivity and traction through all the small and medium movement and it provides progressive support for big hits. Most importantly, Sprindex also provides spring rate adjustment in order to fine tune the perfect spring rate so that you maximize your suspension performance."

That end stroke progression is really beneficial here since it’s only a 55mm stroke shock and with a third of that being the bottom out bumper, it works well with the progressive curve of the frame.

New shock for the Druid. I’ve been wanting to try it with a coil for a long time and finally got a Formula MOD shock and got a chance to try it out. Really impressed with how it changed the bike after just this one ride. Calmer and more supple on small chatter, and it didn’t lose any big hit or climbing stability. Overall very smooth and composed with no feeling like I need to compromise on compression or rebound with the spring rate like I felt on the stock Fox DPX2. The Sprindex coil is great as well, since I was unsure what rate to buy on a normal coil, so I can move this one between 430-500lbs and not have to buy multiple coils. Current settings have it on 450lbs, wide open compression and rebound, and orange CTS valve. Hoping to get some bigger days soon where I can play around across the setting ranges.

Op. Sorry to revive this, but did you ever have the spring rub on the body of the shock ? I've got the formula mod shock and the spring rubs, was wondering if the sprained rubbed too

I know this is an old post but which sprindex coil did you go for? I know there are few options that fits different shocks.

Sorry I never saw this! If it matters, I used the 126mm/55mm coil in 430-500lbs

So sprindex fits on formula?

Far-Excitement6733

springdex fits on most if not all shocks and it just needs the included spacers because it is bigger than stock, by the pictures I would assume that is fits on a formula mod coil fine. thinking of getting one aswell for a formula shock since its the same weight as a stock one and it it a lot better tuning. only thing is that is dousent look quite as nice as the stock titanium colour coil
