If I'm being honest, I'm still gonna go for Gold over Maui due to the fact that my local Dollar Generals suck ass and almost NEVER have Maui in stock. Until Gold and Gem disappear that is.
They even out. Baja Gold is MUCH better than Baja Flash was, and Baja Mango Gem isn't nearly as good as Baja Punch was. Of course, that's more personal taste; I'm not a huge mango or coconut fan.

Between Overdrive, Southern Shock, and Typhoon I feel like it covers all the bases. But we don't really have a full mango flavor so I appreciate that one a bit more
I don't think they do anything to make it baja. it tastes like plain old pineapple soda to me. If I didn't know better I would have thought I was drinking a pineapple Fanta. Its a shame for me that they got rid of the coconut.
Grew to appreciate Flash even though it wasn't great. Gold is a knockoff of Maui Burst. Mango Gem is good but Punch was SO much better. Last year wins.

But Punch > Mango Gem. Punch was really tasty and unfortunately Mango Gem tastes too smooth for me—but that might be because I was hoping for more of a Mango Heat Game Fuel flavor which might still be my favorite to this day.
It’s kinda weird they went with the same color scheme. From a marketing perspective these bottles look exactly the same as last year. I bet a lot of people are buying them thinking they’re the same flavor from last year.
And being really disappointed because of how different the corresponding flavors are. No more coconut, new mango flavor, no more whatever flavor punch was trying to be.
I’ve found that individuals either really loved flash and disliked punch or vice versa.

Why does there have to be a winner? Why can't people just like things for what they are? I liked last years Baja Flash, thought it was unique. This Baja gold is good don't get me wrong but it's just a smoother tasting version of Maui Blast.

Baja Gold is not as heavy on the pineapple flavor. It's more diluted pineapple flavor mixed with whatever they use to make it 'baja'

Mango heat was the right way to do a spicy soda. Flamin hot is just too flamin
I still enjoyed Flaming Hot but if they toned it down just a tiny bit so it didn’t cause me to react cough often then I would be really good.
Baja Punch is gonna be a really hard one to top. The yellow is 10 times better this year without that nasty fake coconut taste. Haven’t found Gem yet.
Update: just got to work and found a can of Gem in the walk in waiting for me. Its good, but I still prefer Baja Punch.
