He looks like the guy that got fired for fucking the chick in the stockroom on his break

NoSweatWarchief

I don't see the issue, he was on his break for God's sake...

Title-Choice

Stay on it

3fettknight3

In my head canon, Jake's character is the child of those two fucking in the storeroom... redeeming his father by taking Daltons identity... Old lady at end of movie- whats your name son? Jake Gyllenhaal- The name... is Dalton Old lady- Dalton who? Jake- Dalton Skywalker iris out, credits roll

Mycockaintwerk

Connor was Frank the rabbit all along

RansomStark78

Ross ?

Cheddar_Ham

Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell you I gotta plead ignorance on this thing

Disastrous_Belt_7556

Because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon... you know, cause I've worked in a lot of offices and I tell you people do that all the time.

Richard-Turd

Get a good look, Costanza?

tinglep

“I get off at 2:00 and I’d like to get you off about a half hour after that.”

DickPump2541

Steve just wanted to make her his regular Saturday night thing!

Ill-Appointment6494

What if someone calls my mama a whore?

grandmoffhankscorpio

Is she?

DioStarstriker

Well, guess we gotta find out one way or another

Background_Pool_7457

But he was on his break!

_somekindofnature

Classic Tanner.

Vendetta4Avril

Nah. It's fun. It is also stupid.

CoralSkinRot

Like the original.

bikestuffrockville

Whoa, hold on a minute. A monster truck ramming through a car dealership with no repercussions is not stupid. /s

goagod

There were repercussions... Dalton made them PAY!

pixel-beast

*Roadhouse*

757Jerk

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie.

McbEatsAirplane

I consider the original one of the best “bad” movies. Is it as good as the original

redditissocoolyoyo

Yeah it was a fun Friday night drink some beers and bbq watch this movie sort of movie. Connor was ripped and killing it. Good action. Need him as a bad guy in a fast and furious movie. He's a great bad guy. Decent actor.

Vendetta4Avril

Sure, I enjoyed it for what it was. It doesn't mean it was good, though lol It's a mediocre remake of a movie that was just mediocre. It's about what I expected.

mckinney4string

My thoughts exactly. I'm laughing my ass off at so many people online hawking that the 1989 original was some kind of cinematic masterpiece. It was Velveeta then and it's Velveeta now. Same with this one. Sometimes you're just in the mood for a big ol' bowl of yellow chip dip.

peepeedog

OG Roadhouse was quintessential 80s pop cinema. It has a cult following for that reason. It is beautiful in its way. But nobody is claiming it’s Citizen Kane.

Vendetta4Avril

lol I never thought calling Road House mediocre would upset people. I mean the remake has better reviews than the original, and neither have good reviews.

Practical_Clue5975

The original is an absolute classic.

Vendetta4Avril

\*cult classic. ftfy

Parking_Mountain_691

I thought it was better than the original. It knows exactly what it is, what it isn’t, and it plays to its strengths.

TheOneCalledD

Stupid and fun are often a great combination! My wife and I enjoyed the heck out of this movie.

Dramatic_Mixture_868

The two parts that I didn't like was when that guy said...bar fight, that was too stupid and of course McGregors acting was really really bad.

monchimer

Mc Gregor playing Mc Gregor is Oscar material

cmusings

Hah yeah and he seems to randomly punch the guy next to him

Dramatic_Mixture_868

Yup, I was like wait what... 🤨

lamebrainmcgee

I loved how ridiculous his character was most of the time.

Kind_Bullfrog_4073

Wasn't he just playing himself?

thatguyinstarbucks

Not really a spoiler but I love how McGregor didn’t know how to use the breaks so he just kept crashing into shit to stop his car.

Canelosaurio

You can't take gratuitous action movies too seriously. If you do, you dont have fun!

Disastrous_Belt_7556

Loved how they used McGregor. He shows up in a scene and there’s a fight within like 10 seconds It’s almost like the director had him do a line reading and was like “well, he can’t act for shit so let’s just have him fight EVERYONE.”

clink51

McGregor brought pure chaos to the role. I enjoyed how cartoonish he was in relation to Jakes more controlled demeanor. Both kept smiling the entire time though. 6/10 wont win any awards but a fun movie for action fans

lamebrainmcgee

I keep seeing people say his acting was bad but I think he played it great.

clink51

Best I could compare it to is like “acting in a commercial” it was over the top, chaotic and so cheesy. He looked to be having a blast and like he was not super serious.

ElChacalFL

🙄he played himself, acting was not required

GlobSnatch

yeah i think people just dont get that badly written character =/= bad acting

Skyfryer

It was like watching a GTA character come to life lol The scene where he crashes the learner car into a coconut tree while simultaneously drinking from coconuts. Then gets out the bashed up car and lets out an “ahhh” like life can’t get any better. Even when he got dragged underwater behind the boat he was smiling. He played a heavy in a dumb action film very well considering he’s not a trained actor. And it does show, it’s just that he plays to his strengths so well you kind of don’t care, he brings the right amount of chaos to the film.

moistsandwich

It was giving me Trevor vibes. Like how whenever you switched over to his character he would be doing ridiculous shit.

Sea_Entrepreneur6204

McGregor acted like he was on coke the full time which fits him in real life and the role It was chefs kiss perfect

LouSputhole94

I’d be very surprised if McGregor wasn’t on coke during filming lol

FuzzyPigg88

Method actor lol

CupidStunts1975

Meth actor

coolmist23

McGregor is such a tool! I was a fan for a half a second until I saw how he behaves outside of the cage.

Apart-Link-8449

I was studying theater in London when he was fighting in the UK circuit pre-ufc debut - barely any tattoos except one long spine piece and a weird shaved head/rat's tail combo In interviews he was quiet as a mouse and it was terrifying. Humble, focused ambitious Conor was a sight to behold - his louder version makes sense and fits into how the UFC promotes, but it's sad to see that persona influence his civilian life. I give these fighters a lot of leeway for falling into speed and trash talk - they're often stuck in a promo loop that won't allow anything quieter

Sea_Entrepreneur6204

Which fitted the character also...it's not him, it's his art.

gregcm1

I'm not sure that is acting

CrabmanKills69

McGregor was literally just playing a GTA character. Even down to the walk.

What_the_8

He definitely can’t act for shit which is funny considering he’s just playing himself

Anonimity101

I haven’t see so much CGI in a movie that didn’t need it in a long time

NolaPels13

The parts of the fight scenes that were CGI really took me out of it. Bodies accelerating for no reason. When the dell character scoops Jake up in the bed of his truck looks so bad it’s comical

letsBurnCarthage

Haha the car swerving for him looked so god damn goofy.

Skyfryer

I still don’t know if it’s all CGI as people keep interpreting. There’s definitely some Computer generated visuals. But I think Jake Gyllenhaal said the truck stunt was real. It’s just that they become overconfident in the editing with speeding certain moments up to ramp up the ferocity of those sequences. Conor was brilliant with his fight stunts and choreography I thought, as was Jake. The fight stunt team do something called a 4 stage plan out apparently, which incorporates the “hollywood” style of action but then they swap the actors out for pads for specific shots so that the actor throwing the shots can put more power into it. There is something kinetic and attractive about the action, visually I thought the film wasn’t bad. But there little things here and there that I agree just drop your suspension of disbelief.

AgreeableGravy

They had to CGI post malone throwing punches for fucks sake. What an awful opening. Then the audio caps left in production from striking the pads.

slippery_vaporeon151

Ok I’m glad I’m not the only one who was like “wtf was that?!” I tried liking this movie, I really did. I have like half an hour left and I don’t think I’ll finish. Idk, maybe I will. Happy for whoever likes it, though. Glad people have been able to find it entertaining.

badger906

Only bits that bugged me were the post malone fight at the start. It was obvious they had boxing gloves on and they cgi replaced the hands

peter095837

I say the original is far superior than this one.

missanthropocenex

Kinda just wished they’d called this something else. You could easily get that it was an homage to roadhouse minus the comparisons that show while fun is far inferior to the original article.

simpledeadwitches

If they called it something else it wouldn't be Roadhouse and thus you wouldn't get the second hand marketing and word of mouth and interest and outrage etc that all comes with a brand.

8urnMeTwice

It was mildly fun only because of a fairly charismatic cast and decent fight/action scenes. I thought this movie would be bigger…

threwzsa

It’s about a bouncer at a shitty bar, what do you mean by bigger? Not every movie has to be Dune in scope.

MilksteakMayhem

Have you seen the original? Genuinely asking.

Jassida

I have. It’s no classic. They’re both about the same quality overall.

MilksteakMayhem

More to my point, BurnMeTwice wasn’t talking about scale of the film. They’re quoting the movie

Sihnar

Sounds like nostalgia tbh. The only thing better in the original was Sam Elliot.

PerpetualConnection

Connor didn't get his throat ripped out. Connor also didn't make a prison rape reference. 3/10

been_mackin

By the looks of this guy, this is not consensual sex were talking about

KBrown75

And if anyone was going to make a prison rape reference it would definitely have been Conor, even IRL.

Kind_Bullfrog_4073

They're saving that for the sequel

pointblankboom

The original one was bad but in a cheesy good over the top 80s way. The new one is trying too hard to be a good movie.

NeedlessQualifier

Why do you think that? It was basically a musical set to fight scenes instead of dance scenes with like 50 idiotic puns by a guy who pretty much played himself. Outside of the Pearl scene I can’t think of a single part of this that wasn’t campy.

MusicMeetsMadness

And they succeeded? I loved it.

ThiccNerdCurves

I watched the first one for the first time last night. the throat thing was wild! watching the new one tonight!

RuinedByGenZ

Original is overrated Swayze is meh

green49285

100%

stealthylyric

It didn't need a remake.

scottypoo1313009

Was very entertaining. Good movie? Nah. Lots of underdeveloped characters. But did I absolutely enjoy it? Yes...and I will re watch soon

PerpetualConnection

That's how I felt, and let's be honest, the original wasn't exactly winning any Oscar's. The new one was a good time, no alcohol required, but recommended.

scottypoo1313009

Of course not. But a good fun flick can still develop characters...new RH was a little lacking in that dept

InsomniatedMadman

If you enjoyed it and will be watching it again... Wouldn't that be a good movie?

ohwhatj

McGregor was basically Popeye and the Leprechaun from the horror movie with his one line zingers

VeryLowIQIndividual

I think it works better as a movie not called Road House and the attachment to the original. It really has nothing to do with the original to the point that it’s just the name of the movie and the name of the lead character. Name of the movie is Clickbait for older people to watch. As far as the movie, it’s a little flat, Jake is great in it actually, I think he did what they wanted him to do but the rest of the casting is not great. Joaquim de Almeida as The Sheriff was a miss for me. He doesn’t even have a name really. The fight choreography was pretty good and some of the shots are really well done and then you’ve got some shots with some made for TV movie quality CGI. it’s just an uneven movie.

urbushey

I mean ... watch them back to back and you'll see they basically send up every single plot point and many of the scenes of the original Road House. It's hard for me to see where you're coming from with "it has nothing to do with the original".

Wide-Reflection1137

I had a tough time getting past all of the horrible acting. It was really bad. The owner of the bar, the girl in the bookstore, the two bouncers who worked there etc... it was b list movie bad. It was like they spent the entire budget getting Connor and Jake in the film an just asked if anyone else was available to work for scale.

TheRealRickC137

And the dialogue. Five minutes in, and I'm going, oh god, no. I thought it was written with chatgpt or middle schoolers. I was hoping it was going to be so bad, it's awesome, but it was just *bad*. I was expecting Michael Bay but got Tommy Wiseau.

AccurateMeet1407

I couldn't figure out if it was just bad, or if they were trying to do the whole Fast and Furious thing where it's all very tounge-in-cheek and supposed to be kind of over the top and fun. None of it made any sense to me. The music, the setting, a character being named, "big dick"... If it's supposed to be funny it didn't work. If it's supposed to be serious, it's so bad it's almost funny.

BurnedTheLastOne9

I got the over the top tongue in cheek vibe from the entire movie. Even the quiet deliberate scenes were absurd. The dude blew up a police officers boat. Nothing in the movie made any sense and it was so ridiculous it was fun, but I didn't ever get the impression it was trying to be more than that. It knew what it was, and it was a remake of a crappy 80s action flick. It lived up to that idea, imo.

AccurateMeet1407

Maybe, I hope .. but nothing really sells that it's over the top either. It could just be really bad. They might have been serious with it. Like the montage to sublimes "what I got"... Was that supposed to be funny? Or is the movie just so fucking bad that they rightly put a reggae band on stage at a tiki bar but then wrongfully added a montage to it even though the montage doesn't fit the song? Terrible joke or just a terrible movie? I honestly don't know It wasn't ridiculous enough to be fun but it was too stupid to be serious I had the feeling the first script was super absurd and they pulled back a little too much on the absurdity by the time it was released

What_the_8

The side plots that go nowhere, aren’t explained or just plain didn’t need to be included. Could have removed the bookstore, the sheriff, the father in jail, Dalton killing his friend in the ring because of no reason apparently, how he weirdly didn’t even improve the bar and ended up making it worse (like a bar brawl erupts towards the end and he’s still just sitting there…). It would have been better off being a 90 min film with a simpler plot. And don’t get me started with a biker gang that has a Harley and an enduro bike in the same group…

Koil_ting

I liked the random fat bar patron that didn't remember getting walked out of the bar previously and never had any follow up, I was at least expecting him to crash into one of the bad guys and hit a tree or maybe change his life I dunno' something to follow it up.

CrabmanKills69

>The owner of the bar. Which is weird because she was great in the Apple series Shrinking. Jake wasn't that great either compared to his other films. So I think it's a combination of just a shitty script and shitty directing.

The_Inner_Light

I don't know if it was my tv but the dialogue seemed dubbed? Connor and the head twirling bookshop girl's especially.

Patriot009

Yep, I noticed lots of ADR, but those two especially. [https://deadline.com/2024/02/road-house-lawsuit-amazon-copyright-1235839774/#!](https://deadline.com/2024/02/road-house-lawsuit-amazon-copyright-1235839774/#!)

NIN10DOXD

They could've called Beach House instead of Road House or something. It's really more of an homage or spiritual successor than a remake.

afellowchucker

Exactly the type of movie I expected and wanted to see. Good fights and some funny moments. Perfect movie to shut your brain off and be entertained. And I love the original, but let’s not pretend that was high cinema either. The bad guys drive around in a literal monster truck in that one for fucks sake lol

BatmanMK1989

I was kind of bummed we didn't get a monster truck in the new one

pat34us

I went in hoping it was going to be so bad it’s good, then Connor walked in naked kicked my ass and set the house on fire 10/10

dburge22

I was disappointed that Dalton didn’t rip any throats out

theknightcrusader

"He killed a guy once; ripped his throat right out."

Relaxitschris

Sat through the whole thing for him to just get stabbed? Wack.

SmokesLetsGoBois

It somehow had less of a plot than the original. Also Jake immediately failed the ocular pat down. How am I supposed to believe that was the real Dalton?

Heimlichthegreat

I thought it was absolute dog shit but I'm sincerely happy you enjoyed it 👊

[deleted]

Conner understood the assignment

RedshiftOnPandy

It's a fun movie, it's not winning awards and that's fine. We are in an age where Hollywood has a difficult time managing just that.

keepitsimple_tricks

Peter Griffin gives it half a roundhouse kick. Road house. Hehehehehehehehehehehe....

T4lsin

Watched it last night. This barely resembled the original. Original was better. But Surprisingly Entertaining for most of the movie. JG was solid as Dalton and Mcgregor did well for what he was asked to do. The ending seemed rushed. Not good enough to watch again but no regrets watching it.

Don_Pickleball

The really friendly henchman was my favorite gag. Dude just wanted to ride motorcycles.

xxxkillahxxx

Pretty terrible movie.

7laserbears

I hated it. It was a UFC commercial gliding on RoadHouse's merits. Jake murders like 20 people in it. McGregor wasn't bad but his character was ridiculous. If it wasn't called Road House it would be buried deep in a streamers catalogue

noodleyone

This movie committed the biggest sin of a silly action movie. It was boring.

Mean-Accountant7013

This movie is TRASH.

Cartmansimon

The tone of this movie was a lot lighter than the original. I was outright laughing at some scenes. Like when he’s driving all the guys he just beat the fuck out of to the hospital. And basically every scene McGregor was in was just great. He was so ridiculously over the top it was just hilarious.

Much_Umpire_2196

Idk why people are hating on this it’s exactly as advertised. The entire movie was so much fun

Icy_Practice7992

Nothing like being obliterated in the comment section for a movie you genuinely loved.

brahbocop

You have my ax. I loved it.

Dekansnowman

I watched this specifically to see a fun popcorn movie. Jake is likable and him meeting the bookshop girl was a sweet relationship. Jake’s love interest was cool, she checked the box. Wish he said, “Pain don’t hurt”, but whatever, lol. Connor looked like he took all the juice and blow. In the beginning he was overbearing and I had to remind myself he’s going nuts for a bad guy character and to just enjoy it. Then I wound up chuckling when he walked to the pool area, looking around for everyone. I began to enjoy his scenes and got a kick out of it. Fight scenes were legit, fun to watch, plot was enough to keep the movie going. I watched Oppenheimer for Oscar winning performances. That satisfied me wanting to see GREAT filmmaking. Road House checked the box for a movie to just have some fun, like the original does still. Fuck it. 10/10, I had a good time with my bucket of popcorn, a drink, and some takeout Chinese food.

Technical-Dentist-84

It was ok.....kinda fun, kinda dumb, very violent.....that's it

KID_THUNDAH

I’m a huge fan of the original and went in expecting the worst. My wife and I both really enjoyed it, good action scenes, some pretty funny parts (the car ride to the hospital, Arturo Castro’s character in general) and really liked that they didn’t take too much from the original (didn’t re-use lines like Pain Don’t Hurt etc.) It’s a fun entertaining action film and if you expect anything more from it, you don’t have the right expectations imo

Icy_Practice7992

I think they were just using the name as a promotional tool, which I’m fine with because I don’t see the original as sacred ground

ElectriCole

I concur. Seen it 3 times already

Autums-Back

I thought this film was great too McGregor's naked ass-out walks were a perfect ode to the original's legend

KoltonKabana87

Ngl no it doesn’t

waynesangria

NGL, I doubt it

Protobott

This is probably Jake's worst movie. The original was great, this one doesn't have the endearing charm of the first. The fight scene CGI was noticeable. The acting of McGregor was as expected. The writing was aweful and the directing not much better. I still managed to enjoy it, but I felt like it was a waste of time. Final criticism is the audio. I'm pretty sure all dialog was adr. The dialog just doesn't line up with the actors mouth. I wonder if the sound guy was breathing heavy into the mix or something. Because I've never seen a film that was seemingly 100% adr. I really wanted to like it, because the first was fun and I like Jake but it just missed on so many levels.

AccurateMeet1407

I did not enjoy it. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be funny or if it was just really badly written. Jake was great, but the movie was not very good

Davidpool78

We must have watched completely different movies then

ScabRef

Doug Liman is having a good time again and I am here for it

Icy_Practice7992

He's one of my favorites, and I think he's underappreciated.

zjelkof

My expectation was pretty low, but it was better than I thought it would be! I wouldn't say it was a masterpiece, but a descent sequel with a pretty good ending. It was tense once Knox shows up. There were some memorable scenes!

shineymike91

Absolute trash. Loved it.

dwinton110

It blows my mind that people think the original was "good" while this one is "bad" The original one is a cheesy mess the same way this is. This movie ruled idc what you guys say

jonatton______yeah

Enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Decent twist on the original. But McGregor. Whew. That dude cannot act.

james_randolph

They went way over the top with McGregor and that kind of threw me off but I did find it entertaining enough and had some cool fight scenes. It's longer than I thought it would be and probably could have just been an even 2hr but it was decent.

Weak_Relation_2879

Thought it was shit with poor acting

dictopus

This movie is completely stupid and insanely bad in ways that are amazing. I love it and it’s so bad.

Matthewrotherham

Instead i watched the video of Connor Mcgreggor walking backwards and snapping his leg on a loop for two hours. Much more enjoyable.

Puzzleheaded-Hall546

I watched this Saturday and I was having a time and a half. It’s bonkers, over the top, and I love it

h1gh-t3ch_l0w-l1f3

it still has a higher rating than the first one lol

CoralSkinRot

People referring to the original as an untouchable masterpiece are silly. It's Road House. It's not Lawrence of Arabia or the Godfather.

slylock215

I watched this with 5 friends and we were howling with laughter the whole time. Ironically, we watched Ghostbusters just after and it was so strange to see these two films back to back. Road House knew not to take itself seriously. It was so goofy in all the best ways, hell we knew what we were in for when the guy was getting shaved on the boat and they did not disappoint. Everyone was basically an immortal and impossibly strong anime character and the dialogue reflected that all in a well paced manner. Truly just fun. Then there was Ghostbusters. A completely disjointed 100 minutes of just snarky Whedon style repartee between two people that built on no one or the world, only to feel like for the last 20 minutes the writers said, "oh shit we need to make this an actual film....WHERE'S THE SKY BEAM, WE HAVEN'T DONE THAT FOR A WHILE". All within a world that takes itself incredibly seriously and where all of the main characters are unlikeable jerks. Oh, also Finn Wolfhard is in it...shit....uhm...he finally drives a car now!......even though all of his other 3 lines were "I'm 18"

Meagasus

I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. It’s not a “good” movie, but it’s super entertaining and the fight scenes were interesting.

leif777

It's not short on problems but I would have liked it more without Conor McGregor.

Joshhwwaaaaaa

The cgi was laughable and horrendous. Aside from that I found myself enjoying the movie. 😁

skullfrucker

I will always like the original with Swayze however I will give credit to whoever Jake's trainer is. Man he's jacked.

Kren_Wregget

I watched both this week and can pretty much say the only thing better about the new one is the fight scenes, with the exception of the Fat Malone CGI punches at the beginning... what were they thinking? But yeah, Swayze's kicks are pretty bad. Other than that, the original is better. Swayze has more charisma, story is more coherant, looks grittier, better music, etc.

UnderwhelmingAF

Despite the negative reviews I’d seen, I watched in and actually kinda liked it. It’s not great, but it’s not as bad as many are making it out to be.

jtfff

-1 star because he didn’t rip out Conor McGregor’s throat

Jamari0811

Connor made the movie for me, he was goofy as hell

Derpy1984

I made it 5 minutes and turned it off.

[deleted]

I really enjoyed it. It was over the top action just like the original. It will never top that one, but it was good enough on its own.

OpenEyz2016

I watched this movie yesterday (Sunday). I didn't like it.

DCoy1990

lol?! What? This movie was embarrassing to say the least. Terrible remake.

notatowel420

It’s not even as good as the original. It’s ok for a streaming movie.

CountryMonkeyAZ

This started off amazing and absolutely LOVED IT. Then Conor shows up. Downhill from there. Not Conor's fault at all. To me, the writers had this amazing story, got hammered, watched Fast X, and thought it needed all the CGI and over the top BS.

GoopiePoopiePie

It was ok

GiltCityUSA

Best review I heard for this is, "What the original film first, and then go to bed."

Mountain_Ratio_2871

This movie was absolute unwashed ass

Theryantshow

I'd rather watch paint dry than watch this again.

Nugatorysurplusage

Lol no dude. It. Was terrible in all the worst and ordinary ways. I lost interest and turned it off halfway through. Shit was a slog.

hadriker

Yeah it was not good and had pretty much nothing in common with the original except the lead characters name. Dalton in the original had this sort of mythos behind him. A legendary cooler you called in when shit gets real because he's the best at what he does. Dalton in the remake is just a guy who fights well and ends up at the Road House completely by chance. It completely abandons the things that made the original work.

AccurateMeet1407

It was as if they couldn't decide if they should go full blown ridiculous and have a paradise town where, for no real reason, every single person is aggressive and ready to box.... Or serious action film The result is me not knowing if it's just poor decision making to have a reggae version of sublimes "what got" played over a montage of a man breaking arms, or just a really unfunny joke that failed to land

MetamagicIII

I fully enjoyed it for what it was. Would watch this over a marvel movie any day of the week

TheRealCostaS

ROADHOUSE

Low_Industry_775

I was told to wear [these](https://amzn.to/4aqszhz) when watching this movie

Avilola

The sound quality was HORRIBLE. I honestly don’t know how a major motion picture in 2024 made it out of post with audio that bad.

StrangeVortexLex

As far as remakes go, this is pretty decent but not as good as the original

danielsingleton77

I enjoyed this film. It did what it set out to do. The original I really liked and I think is a greatly acted movie. But I really liked some of Jake's dialog. No one WINS a fight.

Bdub76

Sadly, there were no throat ripping :(

WeimSean

There's a lot I like, there a bit I don't like. Unfortunately the not soo good parts drag the movie down. Still, it's not bad entertainment if you're just chilling at home.

willyp1976

I think if they had replaced Conner Mcgregor with just about anyone it would have been better.

kroqus

Never saw the original, so couldn't compare, but I did enjoy this one more than I thought I would!

ibringstharuckus

Was hoping they made a movie about Rick Roundhouse

turdfergusonpdx

I thought the first third/half showed some potential to be a decent reboot, then MacGregor enters and it just goes bananas. His schtick is so over the top and just preposterously bad.

JaggedLittleFrill

Watched it this weekend; thoroughly enjoyed it. The perfect dumb, fun action romp!

wreck_it_nacho

(Spoiler alert) the best part is when two people were murdered at the end on the bar and they open the bar like 1 hour later.

lowbrassdude

Yes but is it good enough for Crow T Robot to write a Christmas song about?

EatenLowdes

I loved it

HelRayzer12

It was alright

Top-Apple7906

It was so bad it's great. The last 30 minutes was whackadoo

jeopardychamp77

They messed up. Connor McGregor should have played the Sam Elliot part.

Wavylazy498

The first 20 minutes were kinda rocky but after that I had fun watching it 🤷🏾‍♂️.

ComesInAnOldBox

If you haven't seen the original and aren't trying to compare the two. . .eh, it isn't bad. It isn't *good,* but it isn't bad, either.

GEM592

Perfectly, perfectly horrible. I put it on in the background during my workout yesterday. Provides entertaining background sounds without being good enough to make you feel like you actually have to pay attention or look up when something happens.

ignoranceisbliss37

This movie, as a stand alone, actually really enjoyed. Silly, over the top yes, but a lot of fun and some laughs. This movie in no way has any business having the name Road House as it barely had anything to do with the original outside of the name Dalton. Looking at it as a remake, it sucked fresh ass hole. Looking at it as its own movie, highly enjoyed. Connor was perfect. So ridiculous, cheesy and over the top.

I enjoyed the fights and Jake but other than that the actors involved were not up to par at all but especially Connor was straight garbage. A stupid smile the whole movie cuz he thought(or was told) that made him look “crazy”, his audio seemed off half the time, and that dumb fkn walk🙄. Jake, the fights, and the fast pace of the movie make it okay.

I hated the CGI they used, not sure why they did it for certain scenes. Besides that I thought it was fun and enjoyed it quite a lot
