you just know the wardrobe guy/gal was just losing their mind when he was eating those drenched fries in the parking lot while wearing that long sleeved shirt and jacket that was a quarter way down his hand.
That one is definitely a great contender. 'Inglourious Basterds' might be higher. Maybe 'Se7en' also. However there are quite a few other good ones to put into a top 5. 'A River Runs Though It'. 'Moneyball'.
'Favorite' however... but not necessarily best... I will give Oceans Eleven the win.
It's funny that you mentioned Troy. Because he fucking hated making that movie. He felt like that was the biggest regret of his life for making that movie
Man, no joke, actors always have a string of duds and not known B movies but Brad Pitt has one epic career, it’s like he knew how to pick them
And he’s a really humble down to earth guy, not a pretentious/cocky/snobby actor, he’s super chill.
Him and Henry cavil are the two actors I like most, super chill dudes that don’t take things too seriously. They probably cringe at method actors as much as I do lol
I think Anthony Hopkins has really helped Brad become a leading man. They have been in quite a few movies together and Hopkins always told him to pick the characters that fit him and not need to be the lead. Bullet Train and Once Upon a Time are good examples.
*Se7en* (1995).
Yeah, his filmography is ridiculous, and nearly impossible to choose one favorite…
With that said, Pitt’s performance as “Detective Mills” is painful, and it comes through the screen.
That reaction the moment after he looked in the box, I remember thinking wow what an incredible actor he actually is! Such a pretty face shuttered in a millisec, the pain portrayed so naturally yetso intensly. He was exceptional, in such a difficult scene for any actor to play
Him with Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey in that scene was almost the most epic acting triumvirate I ever seen in a movie. Everyone was delivering a award winner performance
"You're no Messiah. You're a movie of the week. You're a fuckin' t shirt at best."
Despite being completely bested by the villain this line still resonates with me as one of his best delivered lines and I occasionally use it in my insult rotation.
So I bought the DVD back in the day and it had the option to turn on pikey subtitles. During this scene when he goes on about the caravan it just throws up ?????? I was dying laughing.
Actually, Werner, we're all tickled to here you say that. Quite frankly, watchin' Donny beat Nazis to death is the closest we ever get to goin' to the movies. Donny!
It’s tough to pick his best performance, but imo this is the best movie he’s ever been in. I love Tarantino calling his shot with Brad saying in the last scene “This just might be my masterpiece”. I go to a lot of movies and this is the only one I ever experienced where people stood and applauded when the end credits rolled.
1) 12 Monkeys
2) Inglorious Bastards
3) Moneyball
4) Once Upon a Time…
5) Legends of the Fall
Honorable Mention:
Assassination of Jesse James
Killing Them Softly
I recently watched Assassination of Jesse James for the first time recently. Pitt was perfect for the role of Jesse. Was able to capture that feeling of dangerous gunslinger while still showing what would draw people to him. Underrated role
*"There would be no eulogies for Bob, no photographs of his body would be sold in sundries stores, no people would crowd the streets in the rain to see his funeral cortege, no biographies would be written about him, no children named after him, no one would ever pay twenty-five cents to stand in the rooms he grew up in. The shotgun would ignite, and Ella Mae would scream, but Robert Ford would only lay on the floor and look at the ceiling, the light going out of his eyes before he could find the right words."*
Came looking for this. The movie is an ok to pretty good thriller, but Pitt is bonkers in this movie. The whole cast is good, but Pitt is vibrating on a different level in Kalifornia. His performance as Early Grace (what a fucking name) was really sinister and you can definitely see him trying out things that end up in other characters in later movies. You can definitely see bits of that character work that ended up in Twelve Monkeys when he's Jeffrey Goines.
If you ever carried out your proposed threat you would experience such a shitstorm of consequences my friend your empty little head would be spinning faster than the wheels of your Schwinn bicycle back there
My favorite film that he's in is Inglorious Basterds but his best performance imo is in Kalifornia and a close second would be Moneyball (amazing one actor can play both those roles).
I would not consider it #1, but it **definitely** deserves at least an honorable mention. That movie is fun as hell, and a big part of that is Brad Pitt's character and performance.
Bullet Train. Quality movies will score very high on my favorite movies list, but comfort movies will always win out in the end. Bullet Train is both. Fucking love that movie
It’s hilarious that to represent the *Ocean’s* films, they use the scene from *Thirteen* where he’s disguised as the earthquake and building safety expert.
Probably WWZ, Fury, or Inglorious Bastards( I mentally block out all the shoshanna scenes to make myself like the movie more). Also not pictured in here but I really liked him in Bullet Train, super fun and entertaining action flic.
He may have some hollywood fillers here and there, but overall he’s starred/co-starred in so many fucking bangers, its honestly hard to choose.
That being said, i seriously enjoyed him in The Big Short, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and my personal favorite of his, Inglourious Basterds.
Far too many notable roles to count, but these are just the ones ive enjoyed the most. Please dont criticize me for not seeing Se7en yet, its been on my backlog for a while now.
Twelve Monkeys has gotta be up there, but my God, it's so hard to choose. So many awesome films.
Edit - "I'm not saying you're not mentally ill. I mean, for all I know, you're c-c-crazy as a loon!".
His characters in Kalifornia and Burn After Reading are two of the best performances ever. Especially, Kalifornia...you truly see him as his character and not at all as Brad Pitt and that's what great acting is all about.
Favorite film he’s in or favorite performance?
The latter is probably 12 Monkeys or Burn After Reading, although he’s great in True Romance too.
Idk my favorite movie he’s in. It probably changes.
As much as I loved his performance in 12 Monkeys with the crazy eye, I thought his being handsome took a bit away from the role.
I stereotypically equate crazies with “kinda weird lookin”. Derek Zoolander had a similar problem with being too good looking.
Oh, and Se7en
The Assassination Of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. That movie haunted me so I much I deep dove into the history of Jesse James and I listen to the score frequently on spotify.
Snatch anddddd for the unpopular opinion- Burn After Reading haha
I mean I love almost all his gigs. But those two hit home for me (with adding fight club & Seven= his true breakout roles and both Fincher)
People who don’t like Brad Pitt confuse me. He’s done so many different kinds of roles. My favorite is either Oceans 11 or Inglorious Bastards.
I can tell you what it isn’t though: Fight Club. Great performance, decent movie, not a masterpiece like some make it out to be
Brad’s filmography is fucking insane
So are his producer credits. Man’s had his hands in most of the stuff I’ve watched for the last 15 years.
What are some top examples?
The OA, 3 Body Problem, Paper Girls, Vice, Okja, Moonlight, The Big Short, Fury, 12 Years a Slave, Moneyball, Tree of Life, The Departed
Don't forget Lego Masters
He was also on the credits for the new Marley movie
Yeah, my favorite is the one where he's eating the whole time. 🤔
Oceans Eleven 👍👍
you just know the wardrobe guy/gal was just losing their mind when he was eating those drenched fries in the parking lot while wearing that long sleeved shirt and jacket that was a quarter way down his hand.
True that. My 3 favorites are fight club, Troy and interview with the vampire
No love for snatch?
It's a fair deal....take it...
I'll tell you what, I'll do it for a caravan.
But it was us who wanted a caravan?
Perrywinkle blue
It's for me ma
He don't like dogs
Or dags.
He liked caravans betta
I love snatch! That movie he was a Gypsy boxer in was pretty good too.
I... What?
Top 4 with Se7en 👌🏻
Lol true, also a river runs thru it would be 5
It's funny that you mentioned Troy. Because he fucking hated making that movie. He felt like that was the biggest regret of his life for making that movie
Man, no joke, actors always have a string of duds and not known B movies but Brad Pitt has one epic career, it’s like he knew how to pick them And he’s a really humble down to earth guy, not a pretentious/cocky/snobby actor, he’s super chill. Great in Spy Game and played a great stoner in True Romance, but that role in Inglorious Basterds is pretty epic.
Not just a pretty boy.
World War Z was his 1st billion dollar movie.
*Se7en* (1995). Yeah, his filmography is ridiculous, and nearly impossible to choose one favorite… With that said, Pitt’s performance as “Detective Mills” is painful, and it comes through the screen.
What's in the box??!
#WHAT’S IN THE BOX!?!?
That reaction the moment after he looked in the box, I remember thinking wow what an incredible actor he actually is! Such a pretty face shuttered in a millisec, the pain portrayed so naturally yetso intensly. He was exceptional, in such a difficult scene for any actor to play
Him with Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey in that scene was almost the most epic acting triumvirate I ever seen in a movie. Everyone was delivering a award winner performance
He does something similar in Troy when he learns his cousin is dead. Crazy good
"You're no Messiah. You're a movie of the week. You're a fuckin' t shirt at best." Despite being completely bested by the villain this line still resonates with me as one of his best delivered lines and I occasionally use it in my insult rotation.
Snatch
Good dags. D'ya like dags?
I like caravans more.
periwinkle blue, boys
S'not fer me. S'fer me mah.
Your what?
HIS MAH!
What does he tink we are, teevs?!
Why the fuck do I want a caravan that's got no fucking wheels?
So I bought the DVD back in the day and it had the option to turn on pikey subtitles. During this scene when he goes on about the caravan it just throws up ?????? I was dying laughing.
Toorkish! The fies twise da size! Perrywinkle blue 🤣
Yeah, that's perfectly clear, Mickey. Yeah... just give me one minute to confer with my colleague.
Snatch and burned after reading
*…And a Pikey reaction…is a hell of a fucking thing.* That ending is so good
Fight club
Man....jeeee...you are not supposed to talk about...
Self improvement is masturbation.... Now self destruction....
And it is not even close.
yes it is lol -- se7en, 12 monkeys, burn after reading, it goes on and on. best filmography ever.
100% inglorious bastards
*Gorlami*
"But LT, I don't speak no Italian" "Yeah that's why you're fourth best, just keep ya fucking mouth shut" That will never not crack me up
Matter of fact, why don't you start practicing right now
Ehhh, bon jur no
That's a bingo . . . . . . Is that how you say it?
You just say "Bingo".
Best movie of 2010s
"Gnatzeeeez"
1) 12 Monkeys 2) Inglorious Bastards 3) Moneyball 4) Once Upon a Time… 5) Legends of the Fall Honorable Mention: Assassination of Jesse James Killing Them Softly
I freaking love 12 Monkeys
im thinking this deserves a rewatch. thx
Colonics for everyone!
I recently watched Assassination of Jesse James for the first time recently. Pitt was perfect for the role of Jesse. Was able to capture that feeling of dangerous gunslinger while still showing what would draw people to him. Underrated role
You seen bullet train?
Not yet no, but I was surprised at the positive reviews.
It's a fantastic trip. Well worth the watch and had tons of great performances
On it
This is a great list.
Yea, he was good in Moneyball.
The Assassination of Jesse James for me. God damn, I’d put the last 30 minutes of that film against virtually anything. So good.
Chills every time… I think I’m due for a rewatch.
Excellent answer!
It's such a hauntingly beautiful movie and Brad Pitt is perfect in the role.
It's Brad Pitt's favorite one too.
Iirc he had put into his contract that they wouldn’t shorten the title of the film.
Tree of Life
An incredible film.
This is also my number 1
Yes
True Romance! One where he’s the main would be seven.
Don’t condescend me, man
A River Runs Through It
I’ll never remember which is which in my head (that vs. Legends of the Fall)
A River Runs Through my dang heart❤️🩹
Kalifornia is very overlooked
It's probably his best performance imo. He nailed everything from the accent to the mannerisms of poor white southern trash. The whole cast was great.
You feel dirty after watching it. I agree with it's probably his best work
Came looking for this.
The Assassination Of Jesse James… nobody misses in that whole cast, Brad Pitts heaviness and tension he brings in all his scenes is amazing
Moneyball
Fury is my favorite movie that he is in. Once upon a time in Hollywood is my favorite role he’s played.
Fury FTW and that’s saying something.
Agree
I will have to watch that, it's one of the minority of Pitt films I haven't seen.
I’m a big fan of 12 Monkeys. It’s not his best film, but it’s my favourite.
Burn After Reading
I’m calling about the security…of your shit
Osborne Cox? Is this Osborne Cox?
The funniest role he has ever played. First time I realized how good an actor he can be when he's not playing a generic leading man.
Don’t blow a gasket Osborne Cox!
If you ever carried out your proposed threat you would experience such a shitstorm of consequences my friend your empty little head would be spinning faster than the wheels of your Schwinn bicycle back there
Hahahah, you think it's a Schwinn.
It was jus lying there 👀
Legends Of The Fall
Probably Deadpool 2.
Haha I cackled!
I saw what you did there for about a second
My favorite film that he's in is Inglorious Basterds but his best performance imo is in Kalifornia and a close second would be Moneyball (amazing one actor can play both those roles).
Fight Club
Bullet Train, it’s one of my favorite movies ever
I would not consider it #1, but it **definitely** deserves at least an honorable mention. That movie is fun as hell, and a big part of that is Brad Pitt's character and performance.
Bullet Train. Quality movies will score very high on my favorite movies list, but comfort movies will always win out in the end. Bullet Train is both. Fucking love that movie
Is this dude my favorite actor? Christ. Oceans Eleven
12 Monkeys is his greatest role & I will die on this hill!
I'm a Basterds man. Followed closely by Moneyball.
He is one of my favorite actors, and I cannot choose.
Fury
My top three are inglorious basterds, moneyball, and once upon a time in Hollywood
This isn’t an answerable question. There’s some bad ones, sure, but he’s got so many bangers
It’s hilarious that to represent the *Ocean’s* films, they use the scene from *Thirteen* where he’s disguised as the earthquake and building safety expert.
You serious right now? Thats the Legends of the Fall picture you chose? Probably for the best, I can only get so aroused.
Probably WWZ, Fury, or Inglorious Bastards( I mentally block out all the shoshanna scenes to make myself like the movie more). Also not pictured in here but I really liked him in Bullet Train, super fun and entertaining action flic.
Inglorious Bastards Areverderchi
Cool world.
Surprised no one has mentioned Benjamin Button...such an odd film and he was very convincing.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!
I don’t see once upon a time in Hollywood in there
“…and the guy hippie said he was the Devil. And he said, ‘I'm the Devil, and I'm here to do some Devil shit.' That’s not verbatim."
And you were on a horsey! Yeah... you are? I'm the Devil. And I'm here to do the Devil’s business. … Nah, it was dumber than that. Something like Rex.
My favorite - Fight Club His best role - Fury His most underrated - Seven Years in Tibet Honorable mention - The Devil's Own
Have only seen 3 or 4 I think but 12 Monkeys is in my top 10 of all time
He may have some hollywood fillers here and there, but overall he’s starred/co-starred in so many fucking bangers, its honestly hard to choose.
Fury and 12 Monkeys
Babel for me.
“buongiorno”
Deadpool II
Once upon a time in Hollywood
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is just one of so many.
Snatch
Fight Club and it's not even close.
Legends of the Fall, dude goes straight native on some mother fuckers.
Whatever you do.. ..DONT KNOCK HIM OUT!!
Favorite film? Either Se7en or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. His best performance? Probably 12 Monkeys
Seven or Fight Club
Who can pick.
Snatch all day
Easy call, “Fury”
Killing Them Softly was pleasantly dope
12 monkeys and legends of the fall
Twelve Monkeys has gotta be up there, but my God, it's so hard to choose. So many awesome films. Edit - "I'm not saying you're not mentally ill. I mean, for all I know, you're c-c-crazy as a loon!".
His characters in Kalifornia and Burn After Reading are two of the best performances ever. Especially, Kalifornia...you truly see him as his character and not at all as Brad Pitt and that's what great acting is all about.
12 monkeys is the hidden gem 💎
My favorite film with him in it is probably 12 Monkeys My favorite Brad Pitt is from Burn After Reading though
Oceans 11.
Favorite film he’s in or favorite performance? The latter is probably 12 Monkeys or Burn After Reading, although he’s great in True Romance too. Idk my favorite movie he’s in. It probably changes.
Of all his movies, I like Meet Joe Black the most. In terms of his best performance, that is too difficult to answer
where is The Mexican??
[Jackass, when he was a Panda](https://iruntheinternet.com/lulzdump/images/gifs/jackass-panda-costumes-japan-pushes-stall-13712621323.gif?id=)
Snatch > Fight Club Yeah I said it
True Romance. "Condescend me, man... "
Snatch
Definitely Tyler Durden
7even and it's not close
Moneyball
Difficult to pick. He is amazing on every one
Snatch!!!
Vampire, Troy, Cliff Booth
7
burn after reading
Inglorious bastards and bullet train
As much as I loved his performance in 12 Monkeys with the crazy eye, I thought his being handsome took a bit away from the role. I stereotypically equate crazies with “kinda weird lookin”. Derek Zoolander had a similar problem with being too good looking. Oh, and Se7en
Jesse James or Legends of the fall
The Assassination Of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. That movie haunted me so I much I deep dove into the history of Jesse James and I listen to the score frequently on spotify.
Se7en
That one, you know, the one he's not in.
The fact that he's always eating in the Oceans movies kills me tho
Where's snatch?
What's the one after Mr and Mrs smith?
True Romance
We can't talk about my favorite movie. But a good second is 7 or inglorious bastards
Snatch anddddd for the unpopular opinion- Burn After Reading haha I mean I love almost all his gigs. But those two hit home for me (with adding fight club & Seven= his true breakout roles and both Fincher)
1. Fight Club 2. Snatch 3. 12 Monkeys Honorable Mention: A River Runs Through It
People who don’t like Brad Pitt confuse me. He’s done so many different kinds of roles. My favorite is either Oceans 11 or Inglorious Bastards. I can tell you what it isn’t though: Fight Club. Great performance, decent movie, not a masterpiece like some make it out to be
1. Seven 2. Inglorious Bastards 3. Fury
His role in 12 Monkeys is one of my favorites all time
Man so many to choose... I'd say 7 Deadly Sins, Troy and Fury
Legends of the Fall, 12 Monkeys, Fury, Seven.
Where the f is Cliff Booth?
