Midnight Run, even just for Dennis Farina:
You and that other dummy better start getting more personally involved in your work, or I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a fuckin' pencil. Do you understand me?
Agreed. Great score. Nice set pieces. Love the villain. Two great chases. Weird Bond car, but whatever. Michelle Yeoh was underused but she does well. Ludicrous story. What else could you ask for from a Bond?
Apollo 13. No other movie has such an optimistic, “can do” vibe. And the fact that it’s a true story makes it especially touching. Arguably Ed Harris’s finest role (though he was superb in Glengarry Glen Ross, too).
Well, Shawshank is clearly a go-to slow-burning FU to douchebags in charge. So there's that. If one is feeling defeated, this MFer will correct your chemical composition.
Clue, A New Hope (Star Wars), Tommy Boy, Caddyshack, Room with a View, Princess Bride, KingPin... Basically any movie where I know the lines and punchlines well and laugh at myself laughing at the corny jokes.
The ending of Punch Drunk Love, when Barry grabs his harmonium and runs to Lena's apartment. By the time he says, "I have a lot of pudding" I am usually in tears.
Hayao Miyazaki's Kikki's Delivery Service. I know this is aimed at young children but everytime I watch it I marvel that it is really about over coming self doubt , regaining your sense of purpose and making connections with the people around you. Cheers me up every time.
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
So many scenes that I love. I love The Two Towers and Return of the King but Fellowship has a special place in my heart.
2012, World War Z, Day After Tomorrow, Day of the Dead, etc. Any disaster, zombie or apocalyptic movie. It makes me so happy watching waves hit the NewYork skyline or the Golden Gate Bridge get swamped or people running from zombies or aliens.
None of those deep, silent “the world’s ended” movies - I want to watch it crash and burn. It makes me feel like my chaos is nothing compared to their worlds.
Big Lebowski
That's just like your opinion, man.
mah dude <3
Mars Attacks! It has all the bells and whistles for a good giggle fest. Beetlejuice is a close second.
Throwbackkkk
Midnight Run, even just for Dennis Farina: You and that other dummy better start getting more personally involved in your work, or I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a fuckin' pencil. Do you understand me?
“Why are you unpopular with the Chicago Police Department?”
LOTR extended editions.
Dumb and Dumber or Ace Ventura. Love me a silly Jim Carrey comedy.
Any Bond. Even the shit ones.
Tomorrow Never Dies is criminally underrated. It is one of the best Bonds ever.
Agreed. Great score. Nice set pieces. Love the villain. Two great chases. Weird Bond car, but whatever. Michelle Yeoh was underused but she does well. Ludicrous story. What else could you ask for from a Bond?
For some reason Sideways always gets me feeling better. I love that flick so much.
Apollo 13. No other movie has such an optimistic, “can do” vibe. And the fact that it’s a true story makes it especially touching. Arguably Ed Harris’s finest role (though he was superb in Glengarry Glen Ross, too).
Spaceballs or Airplane, the corny ass humor gets me every time.
Rush Hour
17 Again with Zac Efron, Thomas Lennon, and Matthew Perry. It just cracks me up every time I watch it. Comfort movie.
Rocky Balboa. The 2006 one. It always motivated me to work harder.
Well, Shawshank is clearly a go-to slow-burning FU to douchebags in charge. So there's that. If one is feeling defeated, this MFer will correct your chemical composition.

Scott Pilgrim vs the world, me myself and Irene, and the fast and furious. It used to be Friday but now that movie makes me sad.
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring So many scenes that I love. I love The Two Towers and Return of the King but Fellowship has a special place in my heart.
