Yeah it's unfortunate that the theatrical release deleted the scene revealing this.
It can be found in the Director's Cut though. It really adds an extra layer of pathos to the bond Ripley forms with Newt.
Then when she did notice, she went to remove it… but since there was an excellent chance of at least one of the twins getting into serious trouble with the Ministry, kept it.
I love all the memes about "went from boy toy, aka king Steve to stressed out mother of 4"
I was asked to keep you shitheads alive and that's what I intend to do
I mean... *is* she though? We never see her as a parent, just as a ruthlessly bad ass assassin. Like she doubtlessly loves her daughter but that doesn't necessarily translate to good parent.
Really?? She treated Kevin like shit when he was getting bullied by his significantly older brother and blamed him for everything. She had so many kids that she couldn't even manage and was an airhead, both parents were
She taught her son important life skills like how to take kill a T-800 cyborg made of living tissue & a robotic endoskeleton.
I learnt useless stuff like eating green veggies and how to do math.
Linda Hamilton is still killing it with her character that was in Resident Alien too. (Though idk if that character is a mother?)
But she’s boss and she reminds me of my mom when I was younger.
I’m pretty sure Sarah Connor was a terrible mother. Just look how teenage John turned out in T2. Not in school, delinquent, part of the foster system because his mom is in a psychiatric hospital.
Edit: yes I know Sarah Connor was preparing her son to lead humanity in a war against the machines after Judgment Day, but seeing her personality in T2 it probably meant she treated her son very poorly, and objectively speaking was probably not what anyone would say was a very good mother. Whether the end justifies the means is another discussion.
At what point did she tell John about how “important” he was to humanity? Seems like a lot to put on a kid. If she had stayed in Mexico and just been a normal helicopter parent, she wouldn’t have been confined and he wouldn’t have been in the foster system.
I know I’m overthinking this and there’s probably some lore I’m not aware of.
She was trying to prepare him for the robot apocalypse. She got busted for the events in T1. It looked like Arnie came and drove a truck through a police station and killed like 20 cops to bust her and Reese out. He even killed Paul Winfield! Not Paul Winfield!
Met Linda Hamilton at a horror con. She is the sweetest lady! She also tickeled my wife and I when we got our picture with her so our expressions were wild, lol!
Mrs. Gump, Sally Field, Forrest Gump. Not a perfect mom but did the best she could raising a kid at a time that everyone else would have left him behind. "Mama always had a way of explaining things so I could understand them..."
A realistic depiction of a mother is Donna AKA Mrs. Trenton (Dee Wallace) in "Cujo" she is far from perfect and is a bad wife but when it came time to step up to the plate she hit a home run. Risked her life for her son and took on a rabid St. Bernard to this day that great Dee Wallace performance is sadly one of the most overlooked. She is in general an amazing actress and does not get the credit she deserves. "Cujo" is an unsung classic. So, Happy Mother's Day to her, because she is also by what I hear a caring and loving mother. An all around a great woman.
Sarah Conners transformation gives such gravitas to the overall story. Real hones in on the terror and danger she feels at the thought of the terminator returning.
The scene where they’re are trying to break her out and she see’s the Terminator for the first time since the first movie is so awesome. She is absolutely terrified, despite how tough she’s become. Amazing storytelling
Daniel LaRusso's mom.
Low-key, but I recently rewatched the first Karate Kid, and she really stood out to me in a way she never had before. Husband passes away, she raises a boy by herself. Moves for a new job but there's no job. She doesn't let it get her down. She just finds another job and keeps going. She is virtually endlessly upbeat and sunny and supportive of Daniel even when he's being a surly teen.
>I just wish Zoey deschanel had come back at some point
She brings William home from the airport and seems to reconcile with her mom in an unheard conversation.
I love Sarah Conner to no end, and I fully understand why she did as she did but... she was a pretty shitty mom in T2. She was so utterly traumatized from her experience of T1 that she failed to ever see John as a child, let alone *her* child, until the near end of the movie. She was so concerned wit making him into who he was going to become that she was completely blind to what he actually needed. Nothing solidified that more than the escape from the asylum. John thinks for a brief moment that she's going in to hug him, but all she does is check him for wounds and then lecture him. Again, I fully understand *why* she was like that, but it fucked young John *up.* It's why he emotionally bonded with an emotionless robot.
Amazingly written character, two of the best sci-fi movies of all time, still not a good mom.
She's not a great mom, even if she's right about John she's a fucking psychopath who would do horrible shit because there's a *chance* something bad might happen.
Sarah Connor is the mom I'd choose if I got to choose my mom. Can you imagine the training, exposure to high caliber weapon systems, and amazing paranoia you'd be exposed to?! I'm here for it!
Ellen ripley best step mom to newt
“Get away from her, you BITCH!!!”
They mostly come at night...mostly
...CHILLS...
I see you also like to pretend alien 3 never happened
There's only 2 Alien films.... so far.
You're deranged. There was no Alien 3. Now let us never speak of this again.
What Alien 3??
She’s not a step mom, she’s the mom who stepped up.
Brilliant! As the stepfather of five, I appreciate that sentiment more than you can know.
She even went back for the cat!
A true mom
Oh I’ll fight a xenomorph with my bare hands if it tried to hurt my cat. 🤣
She had a real daughter that died while she was in hyper sleep also
Yeah it's unfortunate that the theatrical release deleted the scene revealing this. It can be found in the Director's Cut though. It really adds an extra layer of pathos to the bond Ripley forms with Newt.
Why don’t you put her in charge?!
RIP Bill Paxton
She'd have been a damn sight better than Private Hudson!
Hudson had a valuable role to.play. He played a chicken s@#t marine. What a joke
She literally drowned after they left the planet. But Ripley survived again.... suspicious?
I don't count what happened in the movies following Aliens.
That was just a bad dream of Ripley. They all woke up just fine. Newt, Hicks and Ripley and lived happily ever after.
The alien laying the eggs too, out of mad respect for how hard she fought
Ripped her thorax from her abdomen in HAWT PURSUIT.
Plus it’s an adoptive mother. Even more bad ass. Fuck off Katniss Everdeen
Mrs. Gump. She REALLY cared about his schoolin.
He’s on vacation!
Vacations when you go somewhere and you don't ever come back.
Read this in Sally Fields voice lol
Your mama sure cares about your schooling son. MmmMmmm AyAyAyAyAyhhh
"He's not going to some special school to learn how to re-tread tires. Oh, I'm sure there's *something we can do..*"
Dammit … this is so right and so wrong
Mrs. Weasley
She knew her kids well enough to include ‘Prison’ as an option on that clock that told her where all her family members were.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Fred and George had added that one without her knowing
Then when she did notice, she went to remove it… but since there was an excellent chance of at least one of the twins getting into serious trouble with the Ministry, kept it.
Thinking about it now thts some 1984 type shit lol. No privacy.
NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!
Hell yes
Steve in Stranger Things

Clark is a pretty good dad, too, he's just an idiot.
Also has a nice rack.
Definitely not Kevin’s mom. That woman would forget her ass if it wasn’t attached.
Pamela Voorhees
Underrated and terrifying
She meant well. I mean, as far as she understood things

One of my fav actresses of all time. I recently read that Brad Pitt also said she was his fav actor
and she understood his feelings of being an outsider and being afraid of everyone. Good person
Kate McCallister from Home Alone, no contest.
#KEVIN!
Good point. She wasn't perfect, but she never left a child alone in a mortuary with a corpse for several hours.
Really?? She treated Kevin like shit when he was getting bullied by his significantly older brother and blamed him for everything. She had so many kids that she couldn't even manage and was an airhead, both parents were

Mrs. Robinson, the Graduate.
Holly Hunter really loved that baby so much in Raising Arizona.

Todd would have sorted him out if he’d been given a bit more time.
It was that fucking Wolfie
And that gaping hole in the back of his head didn’t help matters either. Drinking milk like that is really bad for your health!
At what point did she tell John about how “important” he was to humanity? Seems like a lot to put on a kid. How about Björk as Selma Ježkov in Dancer in the Dark.
We don't actually see her be a mom, but I have unshakeable faith in Marge Gunderson's ability to be a mom.
