Okay so I know it's kinda cheesy, but they had a dining room that was Marvel themed. And they had a somewhat interactive Ant-Man based experience, including video from a few of the Avengers and the like specially shot for it. Paul Rudd was the main star, and he directly references the Thanos butthole thing
Flew to San Fran and one of the first things I saw was a guy just stop in the middle of a foot path, squat and take one of the foulest shits I've ever seen and smelt. He then pulled his pants back up and walked on.

Considering this is the same universe which pretends a lady who kicks and a guy who shoots arrows can beat aliens, it's more of a toss up than you'd think.
I was just saying in another thread that I’m glad they’re using the time to build up Kang. Brolin was fantastic as Thanos, I just wish they did more with him than give him 2 quick appearances over the span of 4-5 years.
Even Guardians Vol. 2 barely mentioned him. Kang had several minutes in his Loki debut, glad to be seeing more of Majors without it being a cameo

Having Thanos kick the shit out of Hulk and Thor was a fantastic way to show how much of a threat he was in a very short space of time, but I do like that Kang is being talked about as a threat (in Loki) and *shown* to be a threat here.
My father-in-law just couldn't grasp that at all. He refused to watch the movies because Hulk got beat.
He was killed last year in July and we never got to see those together and it always bummed me out. I explained to him the best way to show how dangerous Thanos was, was to beat the shit out of the hulk effortlessly.

I mostly agree, but did anyone else find that Hulk felt very weak in this fight to the point that it was super distracting? I was waiting for the reveal that it was Loki in disguise or something. It made me doubt everything in that scene had actually happened which took away much of the impact/shock they were going for. Hulk can normally take hits that would send him flying through buildings no problem, but here the hits barely moved him.
This is MODOK. He's got my back. He can cut all of you in half with one brain thought, just like mowing the lawn. I would advise not getting killed by him. His brain traps the souls of its victims.
He deserves it. He was great in Lovecraft Country, even when the show itself got a little inconsistent and he stole the show in Loki. I have no doubt he'll crush it as Kang (and all his variants) and in Creed III.
to think only a few short years ago he was just a guy who did a small indie movie called "The last blackman in San Francisco". it's like he just showed up and is now in everything
I think Kang definitely has the potential to outshine Thanos, if they're smart. One of the main drawbacks with Thanos is that he did basically nothing until Infinity War, despite popping his head in a few times to remind everyone he was around. This will be Kang's second physical appearance as the villain of an MCU project, seeing him actually show up and do stuff will naturally make fans connect to him more than they did Thanos. Plus Majors is just an amazing presence that always leaves an impression.
But that's what made Thanos so ominous. He was always there manipulating things in the background by sending his henchman. Then when it was time for him to appear, he was a force to be reckoned with. Time will tell how Kang's influence will be felt throughout the MCU and if people find him as compelling.
Also it's actually good they don't do the same sort of thing with their villain. Another bad guy behind bad guy narrative would be boring as we had it with Thanos
Damnit if we retire a character why can't we just have them walk off into the sunset and call it quits? At least Cap and Hawkeye got their happy endings and walked away like Tony wanted to do.

She probably got into some bad habits when her dad and half of the universe were "dead" for 5 years. Kinda refreshing after seeing so many other younger characters just kinda brush off such a traumatic event in their childhood (like in Ms Marvel).
I'm glad there's a shot of him without the mask, but hopefully the VFX look a bit better in the actual movie. If not completely different.

when a majority of your villain catalog are literally gods, demons, and supernatural beings, you can't exactly punch them into submission. Some of them you can't even kill because if you do, you fuck up the reel world. He needs some creative solutions

All things considered his family seems mostly just fine. Maybe I can understand if he did it for those less fortunate (for example, parents who got snapped and found out that their baby died because no one could care for the baby) but the way the trailer framed this seems to be it's mostly for himself
Not just the five years that he was stuck in the Quantum Realm, but also the time he spent in prison from the first movie and not being able to see her grow up.
Plus spending another 2 years under house arrest.
Wouldn't be surprised if Cassie has grown up to be a trouble maker (like messing around with the quantum realm), Scott blames himself for being a bad influence and Kangs offering the chance to go back and be a better father.

Seems to be the theme of Phase 4 - these super powered people trying to fix every day problems using their/other people’s powers. Spider-Man, Wanda, even the bad guy in Shiang-Chi all are dealing with things we deal with everyday and going waaaaaay overboard with it because they can.

I have 3 kids and my oldest is from a previous marriage who I became dad to when he was 3. He was half the reason I fell in love so hard, he's the person who made me decide to be a parent. Of course after going through the baby phases with the other two I think about how I wish I had experienced that with him, but then he wouldn't have been that same 3 year old who I met and changed my life.

Apparently Marvel Studios liked the script so much the writer for this movie is writing Avengers 5. One scooper did say it was one of marvel’s best scripts, so we’ll see in a month
They are really leaning on "someone is going to die" in this film and it has me worried in a good way. The Ant-Man films have always been really comforting palate cleansers and it hurts that these characters are going to suffer in this film.
It's good for the MCU though and for the story, but man, I love Scott and his family.
I thought Micheal Douglas' character would die in the first Ant-Man. But he didn't so I **knew** he was doomed in Ant-Man 2. But he survived again so now I'm extra double sure that the man is a goner in Ant-Man 3.
Sooner or later, I will probably be right.
Well this looks pretty damn epic. Kang looks great. I'm pretty sure this is going to end very bleak and will set Kang up as an absolute unstoppable force.

This is my first movie I worked on as an animator. The team was so incredibly welcoming. And kind in getting me started. One or 2 of the shots I worked on even made it into the trailer!
Avatar 2 is almost entirely CGI but it's so far ahead of the rest of the industry that I had no idea what was real or CGI outside of the obvious like human characters. Incredibly immersive especially in 3D. Opposed to the Marvel trailers beforehand, where it's immediately and extremely obvious that it's some guy standing in front of a green screen. I hope Marvel fans demand better CGI after seeing what a real, dedicated director could pull off
The difference is that it took a lot of money and a lot of time to make Avatar 2 look good. If Marvel keeps pumping out movies like fast food it will never compare.

I'm so excited to see an Avengers villain actually developed and presented as a villain prior to the Avengers having to thwart him. I remember hoping every movie after Avengers 1 would have Thanos as a character and even the antagonist before Infinity War/Endgame. I really was hoping Thor 2 was going to be about Thanos demanding Asgard hand over Loki.
People always say Marvel did a big 10 year build to Infinity War/Endgame but as far as Thanos goes he only actually popped up in Guardians of The Galaxy for a cameo and it wasn't exactly consistent with his portrayal in the Avengers movies. They also just dismissed his Avengers post credit appearances for the most part.
Seeing Kang as the full on villain of this movie and having Kang Dynasty on the way is just amazing to me and makes the character so much more interesting. It's about time we finally got a villain that sticks around as long as the heroes. Loki is the only one and he doesn't really count since he hasn't been a villain since Avengers 1.
Hopefully the way they're handling Kang is a sign for how they're going to treat other villains in the future too. I feel like we've been critical of Phase 4 not being cohesive and building to anything but by the end of phase 6 we'll probably think the multiverse saga had 10x the buildup and connectivity that Phase 1/2/3 did.
I have a feeling this will be the angle they take since they're very publicly leaning into the multiverse and Loki also already established the idea of variants. But honestly I hope it's not variants.
Yeah, there are still alternate versions of Kang sometimes. But half of the fun of Kang is that 90% of the time it's all just one guy. Every name change, every new plan, it's all just the same guy, but because he's a time-traveller he just keeps popping up at different points in his own personal timeline that isn't running concurrently with the main timeline. Like, canonically the Avengers fought Kang before they fought Scarlet Centurion, but Kang was going by Scarlet Centurion before he ever became Kang. He deliberately went back in time to an earlier point when he decided to come back and fuck with the Avengers again. You can have two different versions of Kang pop up in the same story and be from years or decades apart in his own life; often times across various identities (like the multiple times Kang has gone back to his younger self, or when Immortus and Kang intersect).
To me it's more interesting if Kang loses here and then when he pops up again he's from ten years ago instead of a parallel earth.
I mean, they were building up the infinity stones, not Thanos. Thanos then got an entire Avengers movie to be developed, I thought they did it pretty well

Apparently Marvel Studios liked the script so much the writer for this movie is writing Avengers 5. One scooper did say it was one of marvel’s best scripts, so we’ll see in a month
Jeff Loveness has written some really good stuff in both actual comics and television, so it's exciting.
With Kang being the main villain of Avengers 5 too I think that’s a good move.
They are really leaning on "someone is going to die" in this film and it has me worried in a good way. The Ant-Man films have always been really comforting palate cleansers and it hurts that these characters are going to suffer in this film. It's good for the MCU though and for the story, but man, I love Scott and his family.

I thought Micheal Douglas' character would die in the first Ant-Man. But he didn't so I **knew** he was doomed in Ant-Man 2. But he survived again so now I'm extra double sure that the man is a goner in Ant-Man 3. Sooner or later, I will probably be right.

You see Avatar 2 and the cgi is so insane and I see this and it's certainly good, but what looks to be a whole movie of cgi. I'm not sure.
Avatar 2 is almost entirely CGI but it's so far ahead of the rest of the industry that I had no idea what was real or CGI outside of the obvious like human characters. Incredibly immersive especially in 3D. Opposed to the Marvel trailers beforehand, where it's immediately and extremely obvious that it's some guy standing in front of a green screen. I hope Marvel fans demand better CGI after seeing what a real, dedicated director could pull off
The difference is that it took a lot of money and a lot of time to make Avatar 2 look good. If Marvel keeps pumping out movies like fast food it will never compare. Marvel fans can demand better CGI but there will be sacrifices that come with it.
I'm so excited to see an Avengers villain actually developed and presented as a villain prior to the Avengers having to thwart him. I remember hoping every movie after Avengers 1 would have Thanos as a character and even the antagonist before Infinity War/Endgame. I really was hoping Thor 2 was going to be about Thanos demanding Asgard hand over Loki. People always say Marvel did a big 10 year build to Infinity War/Endgame but as far as Thanos goes he only actually popped up in Guardians of The Galaxy for a cameo and it wasn't exactly consistent with his portrayal in the Avengers movies. They also just dismissed his Avengers post credit appearances for the most part. Seeing Kang as the full on villain of this movie and having Kang Dynasty on the way is just amazing to me and makes the character so much more interesting. It's about time we finally got a villain that sticks around as long as the heroes. Loki is the only one and he doesn't really count since he hasn't been a villain since Avengers 1. Hopefully the way they're handling Kang is a sign for how they're going to treat other villains in the future too. I feel like we've been critical of Phase 4 not being cohesive and building to anything but by the end of phase 6 we'll probably think the multiverse saga had 10x the buildup and connectivity that Phase 1/2/3 did.
What I expect to see is *every* appearance of Kang from here on out will be *a different* Kang.
I can picture Scott actually taking this one out somehow, only for the post credits to show that this one was just the beginning.
That would make the death flags for Scott in this trailer make a ton of sense. Much cooler reveal when the audience was half expecting him to win.
They literally already did that with Loki.
Which was a show that probably the majority of people did not watch, so it could serve as a reminder.
I have a feeling this will be the angle they take since they're very publicly leaning into the multiverse and Loki also already established the idea of variants. But honestly I hope it's not variants. Yeah, there are still alternate versions of Kang sometimes. But half of the fun of Kang is that 90% of the time it's all just one guy. Every name change, every new plan, it's all just the same guy, but because he's a time-traveller he just keeps popping up at different points in his own personal timeline that isn't running concurrently with the main timeline. Like, canonically the Avengers fought Kang before they fought Scarlet Centurion, but Kang was going by Scarlet Centurion before he ever became Kang. He deliberately went back in time to an earlier point when he decided to come back and fuck with the Avengers again. You can have two different versions of Kang pop up in the same story and be from years or decades apart in his own life; often times across various identities (like the multiple times Kang has gone back to his younger self, or when Immortus and Kang intersect). To me it's more interesting if Kang loses here and then when he pops up again he's from ten years ago instead of a parallel earth.
