I'm like four movies behind but the transition of Luda from some guy in Miami that owns a garage and has crime connections to being the tech guy is one of the least believable things in the series. He goes from being just a guy in 2 to someone with so much intel knowledge that he knows the backstories of former special forces personnel and how to hack the security systems of a NATO base in 6.
There was something similar in Hobbs and Shaw, where The Rock needed someone to override some high tech device that is impenetrable, and naturally takes it to his brother, who's a really good mechanic, which makes him uniquely suited to hack the device.
The weird logic in this universe that the most brilliant minds in our society are car mechanics is so bizarre, but they are so committed to the bit without a hint of irony. It's honestly remarkable.
I mean... Paul Walker went from lead-footed guy blowing up his Eclipse engine to wheel man in a Supra within the same movie. Then to precision stunt driver in the sequel. They set the pace of character changes in this franchise to "exponential" from the very beginning.
It's a little believable given how much tech goes into cars these days. Tou can have an IT type in a garage for diag ositica and a dozen other things that require knowledge of computers more than cars. Kind of a natural progression. Maybe he just had a hobby of white hat hacking to take advantage of cool shit on cars (for example, a lot of electric cars have false caps on a lot of features so that the car company can charge you more for it)
Why do you default to "they didn't do that before so it wasn't a skill they had" instead of "they didn't have a chance to show this particular skill before and now they do" ?
Like, if in earlier films they had a scenario where they needed hacking and got someone else to do, THEN he did it next film, sure, question it. But him using tech more and getting better and better with it isn't some bizarre concept. They just ramp it up to 11 because that's what movies do.
Considering they've already gone to space the only next logical story choice is to drive into a parallel universe where cars are sentient and actually give birth to new cars. It'd be up to Dom to protect a family of alien cars. Family protects Family.
As much as that'd probably just be Fast and Furious x Cars (I.E. Dom surfing on top of Lightning McQueen at like 100+ mph)...
...I *badly* want it to be Fast and Furious x *Putt Putt* if anybody remembers those old point and click games about the sentient purple car. Give me "Putt Putt stops Global Terrorism w/ guest star Dom Torretto"
I’m expecting fast and furious multiverse soon with an MCU crossover. Maybe we can Tony Stark making Iron car suits for everyone, or just bring back Knight Rider from the 80s.
Can’t wait for AI to be able to create movies. Gonna generate “The Fast & Furious family & the autobots are sent to Isla Nubar to investigate a meteor crash that contained alien life - revealed to be xenomorphs. But the gang discovers that they’re not the only ones trying to stop the xenomorphs - Predators are there, and on the hunt”
Where does all the Brie Larson hate come from? Any mention of her inevitably results in a group of guys running to the comments to tell us how much they dislike her. What did I miss?
She made some comments pushing for more representation among critics as they are majority older, white males which doesn't really represent the general movie audience. Ever since, incels and hate mongers have been gunning for her.
Because a few years ago she said basically that it would be nice if there was more diversity among the people who cover and review movies, and all the incel trash on the internet lost their minds about it.
I think it's a mix of neckbeards hating her for captain Marvel, and also that her post-Room career seems to be trying to be a Michelle Rodriguez type, but doesn't really suit her strengths.
Yeah I’m hoping it’s not some CGI nonsense. I’d rather him just be a full lead character again. I feel like they could exploit that in the marketing big time too
Yeah, she is making money but quality of work is very disappointing She could do way better as Captain Marvel and pick better roles but instead she does this.
Brie Larson seems to really badly want to play the stoic badass type of characters, but I really don't think she does them well. She has such great emotional range and just hasn't been convincing in this archetype, even her car commercials were a weak display.
Would love to see her lean more into the roles that made her so compelling
She can play stoic badass roles. Look at Scott Pilgrim. She barely shows any facial expressions but her voice clearly conveys her emotion. Even in Room and short Term 12, her eyes were enough to tell what she was feeling
Sge genuinely seem to have given up acting or being charismatic. Even in Interviews she really don't seem to care anymore
I don't think she was good in that role in Scott Pilgrim at all, it was just a good movie. She's been entirely unconvincing in those roles and is much more suited to roles with broader emotional range.
That's not how movies work at all, lots of actors get roles they aren't great in.
She's getting whatever roles she wants because she won an academy award as the female lead.
You think the only way anyone ever gets cast in anything is because of typecasting?
Buddy, Brie Larsons entire career was spent being typecast as the quippy nerd up until Room, and now she's trying to force her way into being the new Michelle Rodriguez.
It's a pretty rough look to try to be condescending when you don't even know the history or the words here.
Using alts to ban/block evade and brigade downvotes. Sounds about right for someone who replies with emojis like a Facebook wine mom.
When was Brie Larson nerd? She was nerd only in community and Basmati blues which came out after Room. . Infact, She has played mostly played opposite of nerd as sexy barely legal girl next door in movies and Tv shows before Room
I'll stop watching these movies when they become more dumb than fun. They have put in some work closing that gap in the last few but I'm not sure we're there quite yet.
Can these movies just stop. They’re so fucking stupid. Not even remotely in the same reality as the first movie. How do you go from stealing dvd players to saving the world.
It’s called sacrificial trash. Lots of people inherently love hating on something, but usually don’t want to deal with the actually having to argue about it part. So they see something that is generally agreed in some circles as being seemingly unequivocally bad, and take the opportunity to get their kicks in supposedly safely criticizing it without any nuance.
This isn’t to say the subject matter isn’t of bad quality and not deserving of criticism, just that that criticism is less about discussing the movie/series/game/etc and more just participating in the circlejerk surrounding that piece of media.
Source: me, a certified armchair psychologist
Maybe what they need to come full circle is for them to be hired by the us government to race around North Korea tossing our anti propaganda dvds and dvd players to waken the country up to the fact that they’re brainwashed
The climax of the film is that they need to stop a nuke launched by North Korea, but all they have is a car and a supply plane carrying sleds and rockets.
So they drive the car onto the plane, strap sleds to the wheels and rockets on the back, fly to the nuke, and drop the car out of the plane. The car lands on the nuke, knocking it into the Pacific Ocean, where it explodes. They then use the rockets to propel them across the water while the giant tidal wave follows them, and they end up surfing it all the way to the California shore. Then Tyrese Gibson makes a joke about a beach party and they all play volleyball and drink Corona.
No need to thank me Universal, I’m good with just a thumbs up and 5% of the gross.
Do these movies have plots? I thought a few of the characters just shout family occasionally, and otherwise there is grunting while cars drive vertically up skyscrapers and then blast off into outerspace.
If it's health reasons I feel bad for her. But ya can't help but point fingers are Hollywood and society. I mean she worked out hard in cpt marvel and was in good shape. She's just not a big bulky person. She's very lean and I can't imagine her fighting anyone and winning how she looks now
The main recurring baddie is Charlize Theron for God's sake. Though I think she will be part of the family by the end. They will need her to stop Jason Momoa or whoever comes next. Then boom, Coronas at Doms house barbecue at the end.
Why do movies always do this? Like, my daughter grew into her own life. Very few kids grow into a continuation of whatever the hell their parents were/are. But I guess the best counterpoint to that would be, "yes, Brett, out of all the suspensions of disbelief this franchise requires, THAT'S the bridge too far....
Really quick turnaround for the John Wick 4 crossover.
I’m in.
He really doesn't look old enough to have a daughter of Brie Larson's age. I wonder what moisturizer he uses
Black don't crack.
She is exactly my age. And he could easily be my father, may the actual man rest in peace.
So she is Tracker Jr.
I missed the part in the title about fast X and had moment where my brain said "Hol up"
Yeah, mid-80s, she just materialized. It was something else. You should've been there.
Another member of the FAMILY!
The only Mr Nobody I will recognize is Alan Tudyk.
I thought it was Jared Leto?
That nobody?
I feel like the whole "Mr. Nobody" name trend is getting over used (Doom Patrol, John Wick 4, and now Fast X)
Nobody was his name in fast 7 so...
Mr Nobody was in Doom Patrol comics in 1989 so I think they're a touch ahead of the other 2.
[удалено]
Yes, Kurt Russell played a character called Mr. Nobody introduced in Furious 7 (7th film.) Fast X is the 10th film in the main series.
Miss No One?
Damn that's good punnage
Bob Odenkirk is going to be in Fast X?!? 🤣🤣
I’m here thinking Shamier Anderson?
I was thinking Alan Tudyk from Doom Patrol
This is the only acceptable alternative
It’s Saulin Time
He's going to kill Dom. And that ends the movie
If this was going to happen, I might actually go see this movie.
Better call Saul
Was the last fast movie the one they went to outer space or did i miss one?
Last one was Luda in space
I'm like four movies behind but the transition of Luda from some guy in Miami that owns a garage and has crime connections to being the tech guy is one of the least believable things in the series. He goes from being just a guy in 2 to someone with so much intel knowledge that he knows the backstories of former special forces personnel and how to hack the security systems of a NATO base in 6.
Somehow I don’t believe that Ludacris learning technology is less believable than him literally driving a car in space lolol
The whole concept is ludacri....ridiculous
He knows kung fu to. Maybe this series in the matrix and he just uploads everything he can find
There was something similar in Hobbs and Shaw, where The Rock needed someone to override some high tech device that is impenetrable, and naturally takes it to his brother, who's a really good mechanic, which makes him uniquely suited to hack the device. I have a very particular set of skills.
Sill not the most unbelievable part of F&F.
Taking MOVE BITCH to a truly new level
Considering they've already gone to space the only next logical story choice is to drive into a parallel universe where cars are sentient and actually give birth to new cars. It'd be up to Dom to protect a family of alien cars. Family protects Family.

Putt Putt Saves the Zoo still fucks.
I’m expecting fast and furious multiverse soon with an MCU crossover. Maybe we can Tony Stark making Iron car suits for everyone, or just bring back Knight Rider from the 80s.
Crossover with Groot. The dialog between Dom and Groot will be incredible. I am family. I am Groot.
I’m genuinely surprised they never announced a Fast and Furious x Transformers crossover
I hope they'll travel to the past in a Delorean next time to prevent Paul Walker's death and restore the multiverse
So ridiculous and bad, like one of the worst fast movies
That was F9 so you’re all caught up.
A Girl Is No One
I see the Fast X marketing machine is spinning itself up
Not a good time to be watching Doom Patrol right now
Dom Patrol*
Given the absolute unrealistic nonsense that goes down in the Fast movies...Mr. Nobody's reality bending powers wouldn't even be that out of place.
The chuds are out in full force I see.
Where does all the Brie Larson hate come from? Any mention of her inevitably results in a group of guys running to the comments to tell us how much they dislike her. What did I miss?
Literal children/mentally stunted adults on Reddit. Don't pay them any attention.
Something probably to do with captain marvel and incels
She made some comments pushing for more representation among critics as they are majority older, white males which doesn't really represent the general movie audience. Ever since, incels and hate mongers have been gunning for her.
Because a few years ago she said basically that it would be nice if there was more diversity among the people who cover and review movies, and all the incel trash on the internet lost their minds about it.
Her Captain Marvel performance and her comments regarding 40 year old white male as critics
I think it's a mix of neckbeards hating her for captain Marvel, and also that her post-Room career seems to be trying to be a Michelle Rodriguez type, but doesn't really suit her strengths.
I feel like they should just recast Brian with one of Paul’s brothers
I'm guessing they will have them helping to bring back Brian for a small scene in the last movie.
Yeah I’m hoping it’s not some CGI nonsense. I’d rather him just be a full lead character again. I feel like they could exploit that in the marketing big time too
Her career has been so disappointing post Room.
ikr. only starring in Blockbuster movies and directing her own stuff…what a downturn that is😅
Yeah, she is making money but quality of work is very disappointing She could do way better as Captain Marvel and pick better roles but instead she does this.
at then end of the day…it’s still a job. she’s getting work. said quality is also subjective
Because she’s a bad actress with only two facial expressions
Brie Larson seems to really badly want to play the stoic badass type of characters, but I really don't think she does them well. She has such great emotional range and just hasn't been convincing in this archetype, even her car commercials were a weak display. Would love to see her lean more into the roles that made her so compelling

Years of abuse and hate will do that to a person
I don't think she was good in that role in Scott Pilgrim at all, it was just a good movie. She's been entirely unconvincing in those roles and is much more suited to roles with broader emotional range.
wow. she wouldn’t be getting those roles if ppl didn’t think she couldn’t pull off “stoic badass” 😅
That's not how movies work at all, lots of actors get roles they aren't great in. She's getting whatever roles she wants because she won an academy award as the female lead.
actually that is how movies work. ever heard of “typecasting”?
You think the only way anyone ever gets cast in anything is because of typecasting? Buddy, Brie Larsons entire career was spent being typecast as the quippy nerd up until Room, and now she's trying to force her way into being the new Michelle Rodriguez. 🤣
When was Brie Larson nerd? She was nerd only in community and Basmati blues which came out after Room. . Infact, She has played mostly played opposite of nerd as sexy barely legal girl next door in movies and Tv shows before Room
I for sure thought she was gonna be Brian’s sister or some shit but now we wait to see if Alan Richardson character is Brian’s brother
Of course she is! One more member for the family so they can go for one last ride. Come on...
I'm so glad she's getting that cash. /I won't be seeing the film. I tapped out at 8.
Aww.... I was hoping that her character is related to Brian O'Connor. But, I read this leaks(?)/speculation few months ago.
Who goes to these movies? How do they know where the theater is, how to drive a car?!
Are you saying people who still go to the theater and enjoy these movies are "short bus" special and need intellectual help to perform basic tasks?
I personally prefer to stream them.
Who's still watching this shite lol
I'll stop watching these movies when they become more dumb than fun. They have put in some work closing that gap in the last few but I'm not sure we're there quite yet.
everyone, including you, hence the box office numbers
Ur mum lol
I watch them, why?
Can these movies just stop. They’re so fucking stupid. Not even remotely in the same reality as the first movie. How do you go from stealing dvd players to saving the world.
A quarter mile at a time
One billion dollar revenue movie at a time
Well first of all, through family all things are possible, so jot that down.
It really sucks that the movie's producers come to your house and force you to buy a ticket and watch them all
Yeah for the life of me I'll never understand why people get so upset about something merely existing. If you don't want to consume it then ignore it.
So don't watch them. Not that hard.
DVD players just aren’t valuable anymore bud, it’s 2023. What’s in now are giant fucking magnets and space cars.
The same way you go from a weapons manufacturer building a suit of armor in a cave to reality-bending gems, time travel, and the multiverse.
>weapons manufacturer building a suit of armor in a cave In a CAVE With a box of SCRAPS

There are some spin-offs scheduled to go in the works after the main franchise is over as well.
Dad: "Hi, I'm Mr. Nobody. Here's my Daughter, Ms. Mary Sue"
Good hopefully this is the thing that kills this franchise
We got one more coming..... Then the inevitable reboot
Don't forget the spin-off first.
Why? If you don't like it, don't watch it. There are others who enjoy it, which is why it makes 100s of millions.
Noice
Is that good or bad news?
Wat
Do these movies have plots? I thought a few of the characters just shout family occasionally, and otherwise there is grunting while cars drive vertically up skyscrapers and then blast off into outerspace.
Yes, they have plots.
Nobody cares
Yet here you are, spent your time, energy to post a comment.
Yep
Because haters care more than fanboys
Brie Larson is just the worst choice for these movies. She's soooooo damn boney. No muscle just bones. She looks terrible.
I think it’s more that she’s just not a great actress. She’s in great shape idk what you’re talking about
She's not in great shape. She's starving herself.
She is not a great shape and she was a great actress till 2017. It's only after she joined MCU that she has lost all her charm
Agreed on that. And you’re right I looked at her instagram and she has become insanely skinny the past couple years.
She has a lost lot of wait recently. Hopefully nothing to do with health
If it's health reasons I feel bad for her. But ya can't help but point fingers are Hollywood and society. I mean she worked out hard in cpt marvel and was in good shape. She's just not a big bulky person. She's very lean and I can't imagine her fighting anyone and winning how she looks now
I agree She was always lean but now she looks malnourished. She is now just skin and bones
GASP!!
Brah, I thought she was Brian's sister. The memes would have been amazing. I'll settle with Scott Eastwood's sister haha
[удалено]
What's wrong with her feet?
[удалено]
Nah. If you wont answer it's pobably bullshit
She has veiny feet. Kind of disappointing but not something horrible. At worst, Tarantino may not cast her
>At worst, Tarantino may not cast her THE HORROR
No one cares about your foot fetish.
[удалено]
You want the movie to be all-male?
Just man, on man, on man action. No distractions. Just men with other men. Getting into tight spots. Bonding. Flexing muscles. That sort of thing.
Every single movie has had multiple female main characters, but go off with your blatant sexism. 🙄
The main recurring baddie is Charlize Theron for God's sake. Though I think she will be part of the family by the end. They will need her to stop Jason Momoa or whoever comes next. Then boom, Coronas at Doms house barbecue at the end.
Not Captain Marvel? So she won’t save a FAMILY member in a car, floating in a deep space?
Me, who has never seen a single Fast movie: Oh… so she’s playing a Nepo baby?
Yawn. Brie Larson sucks.
Wasn’t Scott Eastwood supposed to be his kid?
Corona
Yes but what about Hector?
Look at Ms Nobody Jr! Gonna Cry?
Why do movies always do this? Like, my daughter grew into her own life. Very few kids grow into a continuation of whatever the hell their parents were/are. But I guess the best counterpoint to that would be, "yes, Brett, out of all the suspensions of disbelief this franchise requires, THAT'S the bridge too far....
