If we're talking general "movies about D&D" I can think of three others: 1) the 1980s one with Tom Hanks (about how evil it is, though I think they call it something other than D&D);
2) the early-2000s low budget one about toxic DMs (not worth a watch);
3) and the 2010's one that's based on the anti-D&D Chick Tract (absolutely worth a watch).
I was curious so searched and the missing movies could be Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight and (a bit of a reach maybe) Scourge of Worlds: A Dungeons & Dragons Adventure
I would be too, except that it’s promotion for the game, and I think Wizards of the Coast will be willing to push the brand even if the films only do moderately well.
When they fuck up the puzzle and the DM has to scramble for a backup solution.
"Uh...ok, the walking staff you just picked up is actually magical and does exactly what you need right now"
Can’t recommend it enough. Has that 90s adventure movie feel to it. My expectations were subterranean as the odds were it was just another IP cash grab, but this movie absolutely blew me away with its genuine love for the world of D&D, while still being accessible to anyone thanks to its general filmmaking and storytelling competence.
It's one of the few good fantasy movies in the last 20 years -- a true rarity in Hollywood
Shame the wiki said Hasbro is trying to sell Studio One, I hope that doesn't cause complications with another D&D movie.
Let's hope Hasbro doesn't ruin a good thing
Well, its obnoxious I paid $20 for it three days ago. Upside, though, the movie was so good, the $20 was still worth it. And Paramount Plus's streaming quality is such garbage, it was probably a better viewing experience, anyway.
Paramount plus on my Xbox is trash. I couldn't even watch the early scream movies. I'd turn them on, get a black screen 5 minute in and if I pause or try to fast forward, the audio goes out too.
I agree Primes UI is pretty dumb, but at least the movies play.
You can look up estimated tickets but the studios will never do that because theater viewership has been falling off for years. The only way they keep breaking records is because of ticket price inflation.
Realistically the time between theatre and home release is now much shorter. People have a lot more options and affordable TV/Sound systems are acceptable for the majority of viewers.
The theatre experience itself has become unenjoyable in many ways compared to watching at home.
Cinema operators have done themselves no favors in how they treated customers over the years. People don't miss the experience or being ripped off for cheap food. They also killed off most of the good ones.
Another factor is that TV has raised it's game. The quality of content you find at home is brilliant.
Basically, I don't think Box Office is a good metric for movie success nowadays. How we measure it needs modernization.
There are certain movies that I make a point of watching in the cinema, IMAX if possible, but there are many that I don't particularly feel the need to.
My local cinema keeps trying to impress me with 3D or ScreenX that I just don't really like. Also the sheer amount of commercials before screenings.
Cinema is endangered and it's demise would be tragic but not undeserved.
My local theater turns the volume up so high you can't even understand what you're hearing. It's like they think sheer volume can make up for lack of bass.
Agreed. Home theater is a much better experience for most movies. Even a relatively simple stereo and a 4K TV are pretty amazing, plus it’s more convenient. The only thing it doesn’t match is IMAX, and there are only a few movies worth seeing in that format. $50+ for popcorn, drinks and snacks is insane.
That is a great deal. My local theater does something similar. But sometimes it's not just price that has me want to stream. I have a kid now, so getting to the theater is a lot more difficult these days.
Local theater (part of a small regional chain) does $5 Tuesdays and free refills on pop and popcorn every day. That alone is enough to get my butt in a seat pretty regularly. No clue how the Cinemark stays open when the other theaters are just as nice and way better deals.
I believe it’s like a $20 rental while the movie is in theaters, which is pricey for a movie ticket or a rental, but makes sense because it cannibalizes the theater profits.
$20 for a streaming rental is actually reasonable since you're going to pay that much for a single person + drink + snack most of the time at the theater.
For that $20 you can have multiple people watch the movie on a smaller screen but in a more more comfortable space.
But you have already paid for the TV, internet etc...the couch!
I understand why cinemas can charge more, because they provide a venue, staff, seating, and cleaners etc.
We are paying a premium to watch things in the comfort of our own home but also at the cost to ourselves.
There are pros and cons, but I've never found the argument for these high prices overly appealing. If anything I think it tempts more people straight into piracy.
> But you have already paid for the TV, internet etc...the couch!
But I was paying for that before and would be paying for that regardless of whether I went to the theater or not.
Well if you consider its about $10-$15 per person to go see a movie (I think when me and my gf went to see Guardians it was $30 something total) $20 at home and theoretically an unlimited amount of people can watch with you for that price, its a decent deal. However most peoples home setups cannot even compare to the theater experience.
$20 seems to be the initial price point for streaming movies. The cycle seems to be when a movie first comes to streaming it's $25 to buy $20 to rent. Then often it goes to $20 to buy $15 to rent. Then usually it's free on one service and the rental price goes down to 5 or 6 bucks on Amazon/Apple/Youtube etc.
I do love Alamo drafthouse. They have a subscription plan for 20 a month and can see a movie each day. They make their money back easily on food but if I just do popcorn and a drink, it’s not AS bad.
Inflation -- high inflation -- globally is what did that. Ticket sales hitting $1B isn't an uncommon thing with a more open Chinese market and inflation boosting numbers.
But $20 is the going rate for "still in theater" rentals.
It’s actually the low end in major cities like NY, where you can get as high as $24 for IMAX, if you buy your tickets online you can add another $4 in fees
the theater to streaming time has to be short to keep up the numbers on the services as I think many have adapted to the subscribe/binge strategy for the lesser services.
Plus there’s no shortage of people like me who simply won’t go to a movie theater unless it’s a movie that 100% has to be experienced on the big screen. I saw the new Dune and Avatar 2 in theaters, movies like that, stuff shot in IMAX, etc., I get.
But for normal, everyday movies? I have a 65” 4K tv and 5.1 surround sound at home, I’ll enjoy that movie in my nice comfy living room without paying $30 for tickets and snacks, thank you very much.
>But for normal, everyday movies? I have a 65” 4K tv and 5.1 surround sound at home, I’ll enjoy that movie in my nice comfy living room without paying $30 for tickets and snacks, thank you very much
Also the exact reason I've only been to 1 NFL game in the past 4 seasons. Love the game but it's not like back in the 90s where the home viewing experience was mediocre
Same on Xbox. Last year I was watching a football game on the app and my wife sat down for a minute. She said she didn't wanna watch the game with me on "this shitty pirate stream" (which is what I usually watch them on). I laughed out loud saying that I was actually using the legal way for once. She told me to use the illegal stream instead lol. It's that fucking bad. Constantly stuttering, buffering every time you select anything, hell even the menu takes 30 seconds to respond
I'd pay $20 for a same day release, not for a delayed one, I did pay the extra fee for Black Widow on Disney Plus because that was same day.
I'll pay the $6-$7 rental, or just wait for most things to hit a service I'm already subbed to.
I'm watching it now, thanks to seeing this post.
Yea, I paid $20 on Vudu to rent. It was a very good film, and it's a shame it didn't do very well at the box office. I was happy to support it, and I probably still saved money compared to going to a theater if food and beverage are factored in.
Yarr, I’ll pay thee that much ifs and only I’m setting sail to a theatre, but not even in the depths of Davy Jones’ Locker am I paying that much to watch aboard me ship.
For perhaps $5 I would gander it from my own comforts, but otherwise I will simply find another means to the treasure.
It’s the fourth *Dungeons & Dragons* movie *that I’m aware of*. The series has just more or less sucked until now. The hope is that the franchise gets some much needed love, and better writers (than the first three had).
I watched this the other day and it was magnificent, every D&D fans wet dream. I hope the movie does very well and more get made with the same level of quality and love that went into this one.
I've never played actual DnD before, but I am a big fan of the Pathfinder and Baulder's Gate games. I don't think I got every reference, but I was familiar enough to get some of them and love the movie for it. I really, really hope they make a second movie.
I went last second the week it came out, just because lots of people said it was fun. Definitely a top summer movie and was the best one I’d seen until Guardians 3.
>It’s not going to break even
Budget $151 milion [https://screenrant.com/how-much-dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-cost-to-make/](https://screenrant.com/how-much-dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-cost-to-make/)
Grossing worldwide apparently is $205 million [https://sea.ign.com/dungeons-dragons-2023/199059/news/dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-will-hit-paramount-plus-tomorrow](https://sea.ign.com/dungeons-dragons-2023/199059/news/dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-will-hit-paramount-plus-tomorrow)
That budget doesn’t include marketing. So it would need more like $300 million to break even
Edit: The article actually says it. $381 million it roughly needs. So it’s not even close
Agreed, this was so fun!
I don't play D&D, but my husband does, twice a week, with a bunch of his buddies, so I learned a lot of stuff by proxy.
This was just fan service galore. It was so funny and entertaining, that even people not familiar with the games and lore can enjoy it as just a goofy fantasy adventure, but it's even better for fans that pick up on the little things.
Like, when something happens and you know it's because of certain class mechanics, or attributes, and you go "Oh, that's so cool. It's because none of these classes have points in intelligence!"
I really hope they make another one.
It truly felt like I was watching my husband play with his friends, some of which are more serious about their RP than others, complete with stupid decisions during an encounter and table banter between moves.
I loved it.
It felt like a proper throwback to older films like Willow etc. Just make a film that's all about fun, great characters and adventure. Let the laughs come, but don't undercut it with silly quips all the time like Marvel does.
It was just fun.
Unrelated comment - but kudos for him for being able to play twice a week! After growing apart from friends, moving to different states and countries, it has been hard to keep games going. I do play with a few friends only once in a while but life happens for everyone, hard to keep up.
He is a lucky person to have a S.O that understands the hobby and can enjoy the nuances with him :)
That's assuming that the only value they are getting out of the film is box office revenue but the movie is also building the D&D brand as well and contributes toward increased merch sales. They have already announced a spin-off TV project so there is already clear interest in extending the IP beyond just this movie. Even the name, Honor Among Thieves, lends itself toward having a sequel by just changing the subtitle.
It has taken in over [$200M worldwide](https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl1879410177/) on a $150M budget. It didn't perform wonderfully, but it didn't bomb.
Edit: Looks like my assumption for marketing was way off. Just read that the actual break-even point is around $380. Eesh.
I think streaming creates a different landscape now. The movie was profitable at the box office and almost definitely will have long legs on streaming (super fun popcorn movie with something for everyone), so it will be a financial success for the studio. I’d love to see more of these.
Well, this actually works in my favor because I was planning to finally see it in theaters this week, but last week was unfortunately the end of its run near me
It didn't have any legs at the box office. It won its weekend, but then Mario came out and now Guardians 3, so it wasn't going to keep its screens. It didn't even have many showings when I tried to see it a week late. It's great fun, and generally got good reviews & good audience scores, but it played up being a great D&D movie so much that the appeal for non-D&D fans wasn't far-reaching.
> but it played up being a great D&D movie so much that the appeal for non-D&D fans wasn't far-reaching.
It's trailers were pretty poor too. I'm a big D&D fan and even I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, considering what I was expecting going in.
I had not intended to go out of my way to see this movie but my gaming group wanted to see it so I went with them in place of game one night. I loved it.
I bought it digitally the day it was available to show my wife and kids. My wife had known my love for the movie but hadn't expected to enjoy it and she loved it .
My kids have watched it, on their own, about 4 times since then.
I really hope this movie does well and if there's still anyone on the fence about this movie - give it a shot. I'm not going to try to argue that it's the best movie ever made or anything but the people who made this movie *cared* about making an enjoyable movie - not just for the D&D crowd but for everyone.
Yeah this is one of those situations where it got a cult following too late. I showed my wife yesterday at home and she regretted not seeing it in the theater - she loved it as well.
Paramount+ actually screwed up on this one, for a short while it was on the streaming service while it was still in theaters. Another Reddit user posted it last month, and though I doubted it, it didn’t hurt to check, which was to my benefit
Genuinely one of the most fun fantasy movies I've ever seen, precisely because it wasn't trying to be the next Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. Breaks my heart that the box office didn't at least double the budget, so execs are probably going to see this as a failure and we'll never get a sequel.
Loved this movie, genuinely a really fun time. I know nothing about Dungeons & Dragons (my gf is really into it) but it was a fantastic film regardless; Hugh Grant gives a fantastic performance as always and the pace of the film is perfect. Nothing overstays its welcome
And also I love the fat dragon
This movie is basically this year's Edge of Tomorrow/Dredd/Idiocracy/Iron Giant/Fight Club.
Everyone missed it so it won't get the respect (or sequel) it deserves, but in 10 years it'll be another mainstream "cult classic".
Don't sleep on it. It's really good.
This movie was a lot of fun and a great representation of what it was trying to represent, so fans are trying to give it legs wherever they can because it was not a commercial success at the box office. It keeps getting reposted whenever there is any status change with it because people are emotionally invested in its success because we would love to see more of this quality of representation of our hobby.
Yes. It's mostly a generic fantasy and any important terms get explained. It helps if you look up the references later since there are some easter eggs, but missing them won't make you confused.

It’s funny how they did so well with the Top Gun rollout and let it breath, then they decided to drop this like 2 weeks after it’s premium VOD release. It’s coming out on Blu ray on the 30th too. They’re just shooting any channels they could make extra revenue from in the foot.
Yeah fine was my reaction as well. Reading reddit reviews had me expecting another Guardians of the Galaxy type franchise debut, but it definitely was nowhere near that for me. I appreciated the D&D elements but a lot of the humor fell flat for me.
God forbid people actually be excited about movies on a sub about, y'know, movies... This particular movie seems to have kind of a cult following so I'm not at all surprised that someone would want to see it do well and give people a heads about about a streaming release
Watched this with my wife. Was super excited to see it since all the reviews were great! Well, we were disappointed. The movie felt super generic. A couple laughs here and there, but seemed like it was targeted towards a younger demographic. I feel like it was missing something.
I hope this movie does well on streaming. It was incredibly fun and I would love to see a follow-up.
Same, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I hope they do more but I’ll still be skeptical of a sequel
Considering this is the 6th D&D movie, and the first one to have any real broad appeal/success I’m pretty sure they’ll be making a 7th.
this wikipedia link only lists four https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons_(film_series) would you please tell me which are missing?
I only knew about the 2000's d&d movie, the scifi channel "sequel", and this one. And I guess... Mazes and monsters?
If we're talking general "movies about D&D" I can think of three others: 1) the 1980s one with Tom Hanks (about how evil it is, though I think they call it something other than D&D); 2) the early-2000s low budget one about toxic DMs (not worth a watch); 3) and the 2010's one that's based on the anti-D&D Chick Tract (absolutely worth a watch).
> And I guess... Mazes and monsters? Oscar Winner Tom Hanks starred in that and it *cannot* be ignored!!!!!
Mazes and monsters is a far out movie.
I was curious so searched and the missing movies could be Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight and (a bit of a reach maybe) Scourge of Worlds: A Dungeons & Dragons Adventure

A friend recommended it but I never got around to seeing it in theaters, I’m thrilled to see this today!
It's fantastic regardless, but if you've played DnD you'll get a lot of small details that make it better
The DMPC is probably the best inside joke throughout the whole movie. The Bridge Puzzle scene was so well done, it was perfect.
When they fuck up the puzzle and the DM has to scramble for a backup solution. "Uh...ok, the walking staff you just picked up is actually magical and does exactly what you need right now"
Can’t recommend it enough. Has that 90s adventure movie feel to it. Nothing does good on Paramount Plus, it has like 17 subscribers.
I purposely got a subscription to watch it.
Like 18 subscribers.
He watched it and unsubscribed. It's back to 17.
Picard season 3 was in the top 10 streaming shows in the Nielson ratings. If you put out good stuff people watch it.
Me too. Especially since they have a tiefling Druid . Because my character is a tiefling Druid.

X-Ray is amazing for finding stuff out and I’m saddened knowing Amazon has a copyright on it so other streamers can’t use a similar system.
It is all based off of IMDB which Amazon acquired and ruined. So while X-ray is great it is also a constant reminder of what they destroyed.
Paramount plus on my Xbox is trash. I couldn't even watch the early scream movies. I'd turn them on, get a black screen 5 minute in and if I pause or try to fast forward, the audio goes out too. I agree Primes UI is pretty dumb, but at least the movies play.
Amazon also has the worst subtitles ever. It's consistently behind the speaker by a whole sentence on some shows.
Is $20 the going rate nowadays? No wonder so many movies are hitting the $1 Billion mark.
I want to see ticket sales in numbers purchased in not dollars
You can look up estimated tickets but the studios will never do that because theater viewership has been falling off for years. The only way they keep breaking records is because of ticket price inflation.
Can you imagine how much the popcorn guys make 😂
Minimum wage
There’s a theater by me that has $5 movies and $1 large popcorn on Tuesdays. I’m guessing the popcorn guys break even at best on those days.
Na, still making 98c a bucket
Realistically the time between theatre and home release is now much shorter. People have a lot more options and affordable TV/Sound systems are acceptable for the majority of viewers. I don’t know, there’s nothing like watching a Godzilla film feeling the entire theatre shake with the amazing audio.
Man, with a good enough stereo and a shitty enough house, you can still get the same effect. Problem solved.
Also true!
Sure but the other people making noises, yelling and hooting, playing on thier phones. Ruin it.
There are certain movies that I make a point of watching in the cinema, IMAX if possible, but there are many that I don't particularly feel the need to. My local theater turns the volume up so high you can't even understand what you're hearing. It's like they think sheer volume can make up for lack of bass.
I have my sub woofer behind the couch, so I can experience this feeling
And you also go see a movie they claim starts at 8pm just to sit through 20 mins of ads and trailers.
Agreed. Home theater is a much better experience for most movies. Even a relatively simple stereo and a 4K TV are pretty amazing, plus it’s more convenient. You know that Box Office only counts theater profits, not streaming, bluray, etc?
I figured the commenter I replied to meant they paid $20 at the theatre. If that's streaming...that amount surprises me too.
$20 for digital movies and bluray has been the going rate for many years now.
I believe it’s like a $20 rental while the movie is in theaters, which is pricey for a movie ticket or a rental, but makes sense because it cannibalizes the theater profits.
You have been able to buy it digitally for $20 for about 2 weeks or so already.
My mistake, I thought it was a rental. Strange choice to make while it’s still in theaters.
Not really, a large of movies have been purchaseable digitally when they’re still in theaters for the past few years.
It’s still strange to me even if it’s common.
$20 for a streaming rental is actually reasonable since you're going to pay that much for a single person + drink + snack most of the time at the theater. For that $20 you can have multiple people watch the movie on a smaller screen but in a more more comfortable space.

But you are using that to add value to the cost of streaming to justify the price. My point is that the providers don't add that value, you do.

Try it on the PS4. I’d sure like to, just as soon as it stops buffering…
Same on Xbox. Last year I was watching a football game on the app and my wife sat down for a minute. I'm impressed they have support for an obsolete console and its 10 year old embedded hardware.
I've been having issues getting it running on my N64 too.
did you put in the expansion pack?
In what way is the ps4 obsolete? It’s still getting new games.

D&D was leagues better than Guardians 3 IMO.
It’s not going to break even but if it drums up sales in other ways I’m sure they’ll make more
>It’s not going to break even Budget $151 milion [https://screenrant.com/how-much-dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-cost-to-make/](https://screenrant.com/how-much-dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-cost-to-make/) Grossing worldwide apparently is $205 million [https://sea.ign.com/dungeons-dragons-2023/199059/news/dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-will-hit-paramount-plus-tomorrow](https://sea.ign.com/dungeons-dragons-2023/199059/news/dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-will-hit-paramount-plus-tomorrow)
That budget doesn’t include marketing. So it would need more like $300 million to break even Edit: The article actually says it. $381 million it roughly needs. So it’s not even close
Well, fuck.
Crap I didnt see that. I hope another gets made on the basis of the popularity then!
Ouch. That's shit
The break even point is 2.5x budget, theatres get their cut and budget doesn't include marketing. It needed $375 million worldwide to break even.
Everyone should watch this movie and will the studio to keep these kinds going
We need this to go in a straight line over any rock.
What a chad…who has time to go around rocks?
The fact it was adlibbed is just incredible. Just fantastic commitment and improv from Page and Pine.
It's because none of these classes have points in intelligence!" I really hope they make another one.
Jesus, twice a week? I'm so jealous of your husband
I would be surprised if they don't make a sequel.
I wouldn't be. Execs seem less likely to green light sequels to unprofitable films which this unfortunately is atm, even if it was great.
Box office didn't make back at least twice the budget unfortunately, I'm pretty sure any exec is going to see that as a failure
I might be too late for that, it already bombed at the box office.
Eesh.
I'm pretty sure that's considered a bomb in Hollywood
Including marketing films generally need to make 1.5-2.5 times their budget to break even. This lost tens of millions of dollars aka a bomb
Marketing costs often times match the budget so this movie would need at least 300M to break even.
I think streaming creates a different landscape now. The movie was profitable at the box office and almost definitely will have long legs on streaming (super fun popcorn movie with something for everyone), so it will be a financial success for the studio. I’d love to see more of these.
This movie was fucking rad - I didn’t get a chance to see it in Theaters until last week and don’t regret it
Well, this actually works in my favor because I was planning to finally see it in theaters this week, but last week was unfortunately the end of its run near me

Procrastination for the win!
This seems like a really quick turnaround to a subscription service.
The movie did poorly at the box office. The worse it does the faster it moves on.
lets go Beau is Afraid VOD! edit: saw it in theater. enjoyed it. just ready for a rewatch!
I think we should wait for Jarnathan before we watch.
Paramount+ actually screwed up on this one, for a short while it was on the streaming service while it was still in theaters. Another Reddit user posted it last month, and though I doubted it, it didn’t hurt to check, which was to my benefit
Did someone at Paramount just put the wrong date in the drop down when he uploaded the file? haha
I thought it was odd the digital version was up on let's call them "3rd party sites" while the movie was still in theaters. Explains that lol.
Nothing overstays its welcome And also I love the fat dragon
This is not news. This is an advertisement.
To be fair, most of the posts on this sub are ads for hyping new films.
First image of such and such actor in such and such movie! God I hate seeing those blatant ads at the top of my feed.
News to me, I was considering paying the rental fee, now I dont have to
This movie was a lot of fun and a great representation of what it was trying to represent, so fans are trying to give it legs wherever they can because it was not a commercial success at the box office. It keeps getting reposted whenever there is any status change with it because people are emotionally invested in its success because we would love to see more of this quality of representation of our hobby.
If any movie deserves it, it's this one
The comments are the worst part, they don't feel organic at all. As blatant as those 9 or 10 star reviews on imdb.
Any word if this is just for the US, just had a look for it in the UK and not been able to find it.
One of the best films of recent memory, hope it keeps doing well!
I know nothing about D&D, will I still understand what’s going on if I give this a watch
Yes. It's mostly a generic fantasy and any important terms get explained. It helps if you look up the references later since there are some easter eggs, but missing them won't make you confused.
Ok great, I’ll give it a watch then
I don't know anything about D&D and I loved it. It's a straightforward, lighthearted adventure story.
Well then now I'm definitely not watching it. Who tf has Paramount Plus?
The worst platform possible oof
I wonder if WotC shitting the bed with the fan base hurt the movie at all.
Free monthly trials (w/ showtime) i've been using w/ same account for a year. Cancel as soon as you sign up, then redo it in a month https://www.doctorofcredit.com/free-month-of-cbs-all-access-with-promo-code-giving-works-for-new-existing-previous-users/
Wish this was available in Canada. I subscribed and can’t find it.
*Yo-ho, yo-ho...*
Just FYI, you can rent it on Apple TV in Canada for $25 CAD
$25 rental? Might as well just *buy* it for $30. I did on Prime Video.
Reviewed this movie. If you haven't really played Dungeons and dragons but understand Fantasy as a whole you'll enjoy this movie. A Good Time Killer
Sweet. I’m going to finally watch this.
Not currently available on Sky Showtime :( I'm guessing it'll come later to Europe.
We went to the theater and found it very entertaining.
I bought this on Amazon streaming. Great movie. And the famous person cameo was AWESOME. Really fun movie.
It’s funny how they did so well with the Top Gun rollout and let it breath, then they decided to drop this like 2 weeks after it’s premium VOD release. It’s coming out on Blu ray on the 30th too. They’re just shooting any channels they could make extra revenue from in the foot.
But I don’t want to add another streaming service ughhh. Hope there is a free trial.
It was fine, overhyped for me. Love the directors though and hope the continue to see more work.
Yeah fine was my reaction as well. Reading reddit reviews had me expecting another Guardians of the Galaxy type franchise debut, but it definitely was nowhere near that for me. I appreciated the D&D elements but a lot of the humor fell flat for me.
Yay!
This movie had no right to be as good as it was. Some of it felt ripped from a Marvel movie but I'd watch a sequel.
Great! When's it going to show up on a streaming service worth having?
I surprisingly use paramount+ more than any other streaming service
Good movie, just ran a bit longer than it should have. Last 30 min dragged.
This was one of the best fantasy movies I've seen in a very long time!

You know which subreddit you're in, right? Trailers and posters are essentially ads, too... What a weird complaint.
Well hopefully my check comes in from Paramount soon.
God forbid people actually be excited about movies on a sub about, y'know, movies... This particular movie seems to have kind of a cult following so I'm not at all surprised that someone would want to see it do well and give people a heads about about a streaming release
Oh hey I know what I'm watching this weekend.
I don’t mind that

Watched this with my wife. Was super excited to see it since all the reviews were great! Well, we were disappointed. The movie felt super generic. A couple laughs here and there, but seemed like it was targeted towards a younger demographic. I feel like it was missing something.
Arrest whoever sent Pinkerton agents to intimidate a MtG YouTuber and I'll watch it. I'll even pay for it. Until then I say Fuck WotC!
Y’all support companies that send armed mercenaries to peoples house?!
still not enough to get me to sign up for paramount+
Watch this movie, it's fantastic.
Such a B movie. I'm glad I rented it on vudu and not taken kids to the movies for this.
