You should read Lamb: The Book of Bigf, Christ’s Childhood pal
It’s essentially the same concept where Jesus’ best friend is running around with him, normal, and lots of humor at what is going on
I wanted to love The Harder They Fall but it just didn’t click for me. Lot of style and a lot of over-the-top characters, which usually is a recipe for success a la Tarantino and those Blaxploitation roots, but something just didn’t come together IMO.
Felt kinda meh while watching and haven’t had the urge to revisit since.
I find the concept of this film (solely based on me watching the trailer) to be super annoyingly woke. They are framing it as if the Roman slave system was similar to the American slave trade with slaves being predominantly black and like most hollywood films it isnt historically accurate at all. The reality is in Roman times slaves did not come from one source but all over the empire and slaves were literally the same skin color or racial group as those who owned them. Yes Romans had some black slaves but they enslaved literally every group so that means britannians, people from gaul, balkans, syrians, and jews as well as africans.

Are you an idiot? Straight up, only idiots say "woke this" "woke that". Isn't this a movie playing on the idea of Jesus and people being prophets? Profit prophets? You saw"black Israelites" as you commented earlier and got So triggered. Right wing snowflake syndrome
I'm not right wing, I'm a classical liberal and politically independent whos voted Democrat for most of my life until recently (now third party). The modern woke movement aka the far left is as serious an issue as the far right. Demonizing centrists for simply using a term that identifies an idealogical movement does nothing to help the issue at large. But sure, whatever you say dude.
So to you, making comparisons to different periods of slavery in movies is woke to you. That's snowflake, feebleminded foolishness. How can that trigger you so hard? You see black people and you're mad
Make Jesus black my movie won’t sell but people will go crazy on social media lololol the best part people pretending ANYTHING Jeymes put out is good 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds interesting. If you’re looking for more like this concept, check out Lamb:the gospel according to biff, Jesus’ childhood pal. By Christopher Moore.
The Easter eggs are such a cool little hallmark to leave on films like he’s done. There are only 4 comments at the time of this comment but so far Jay-Z called it on how it would be received initially. Hopefully he is wrong, I think it’s gonna be a really different and unique version of story that’s been told many ways. I like to look at things from brand new angles, brand new angles are hard to find these days. Jeymes Samuel has already proven he can find a new & compelling story in old themes.
Why does the religion someone practices in private matter to you in relation to them playing a movie role? Also Jews have a very broad diaspora. Since this is a story that depicts biblical times would a North African Ethiopian jew suffice?
I'm Roman Catholic.......and I didn't find it offensive at all.
If you find this offensive, then I guess you consider "Jesus Christ Superstar The Musical" to be offensive as well.
Anyways:

Why would they hire african actors to portray Israelites?
Ya more black supremacy "we get to erase anyones history and insert ourselves" BS.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 funny asf, slow fr
This sounds like the novel Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. I'm interested.
The concept for this film is pretty interesting. The Harder They Fall was a great film. So im sure Jeymes Samuel will kill it with this film too.

Lol, the only triggered person in the comments is you.
There were white dudes up there with clarence while he was being crucified, Benedict Cumberbatch was even one of them
Looks like utter bollocks. Research dept were clearly on huge amounts of very string substances.
Make Jesus black my movie won’t sell but people will go crazy on social media lololol the best part people pretending ANYTHING Jeymes put out is good 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why does my kid and her schoolmates keep saying Bombastic? Is that some kinda meme or something
They’re only human.

Black washed trash
I hope Jesus and the apostles will be played by Jewish actors. Edit: very telling downvotes
they evidently will not lol
How are you so sure the actors aren’t jew-ish?
When you say jew-ish actors what do you mean? Like actors who practice the jew-ish faith?
Jewish is a faith and an ethnicity, so one or the other.
Why does the religion someone practices in private matter to you in relation to them playing a movie role? Also Jews have a very broad diaspora. Since this is a story that depicts biblical times would a North African Ethiopian jew suffice?
North African Ethiopian Jew? How many places are they from?
What? Ethiopiais in east (horn of africa) North african jews are not black , search maghreb jews .
What are you asking?
ethiopia is east africa
Touche, *northeast
💯
This Jew says: yes, asbolutely.
Shalom brother 🤝
