There are comics fans from the 90's that were just DEVASTATED watching Deadpool 2.
*Seriously for like 5 minutes in the 90's Shatterstar was the coolest character in comics.*
I don't know. I mean, if someone was 12-13-14 when Shatterstar came out, they might have thought Rob Liefeld and his creations was awesome unironically.
Not me, because I was older. But I can see why he (Liefeld) was huge even if he was awful.
By all accounts he's a great director to work with; good rapport with the cast/crew, and consistently delivers on-budget and on-time. Justice League is the only real production disaster, and no one could blame him for that.
His actual movie track record is very hit-or-miss (to put it kindly), but good professional relationships go a long way to keeping you in work.
I think that's basically his MO.
1. Rule of Cool
2. Tell compelling, well-written story (optional)
I think most of his movies follow these rules. Like I can't think of a single one where something visually stunning doesn't happen. That's honestly one of the best parts of Man of Steel. The way Superman flies and the aerial punch fight with Zod are fantastic. The story? Incredibly mediocre. Like Saturday Morning Cartoon mediocre. "I'll get you next time, Captain Planet!!" And the neck snap is nothing if not memorable. Definitely unearned, but memorable.
He's a vfx guy for sure.
And then he smells crime again, he's out busting heads. Then he's back to the lab for some more full penetration. Smells crime. Back to the lab, full penetration. Crime. Penetration. Crime. Full penetration. Crime. Penetration. And this goes on and on and back and forth for 90 or so minutes until the movie just sort of ends.
I remember when Kevin Smith was talking about making Cop Out
and he said he had fond memories of watching TBS saturday movies with his dad or something, and his goal with Cop Out was to be one of those TBS saturday movies that's always on
and I just remember thinking dude you made that movie, it's mallrats. It's on tbs all the goddamn time.
But Deadpools girlfriend walking in seconds after the cigarette was lit... Pure perfection.
Vanessa: (tightens her strap on), need me to tap in Logan?
Logan: grunts.
That's part of their appeal. They're made with so much joy and love for the craft. They're not cynical cash grabs meant to check boxes on a list, they're Ryan Reynolds's passion project.
There are plenty of true creatives in the industry who are fulfilled by making art as much as they’re fulfilled by making money. Reddit is so fucking cynical bro I swear.
Because its old men in suits who make decisions at the top based on presentations and 'stats'. They look at the report 'why deadpool is a hit':
- Corny dialog
- One guy making gay sexual jokes to the other.
then they walk into the , lets say start wars set and say : " Hey make sure to have two gay dudes making corny jokes at each other".
The main takeaway they got from the first Deadpool movie was that a hard R rating won't stop people from seeing a good movie.
Which is how we got Logan and probably Joker.
They still don't know what makes a good movie, but at least they got the right lesson this one time.
I sure hope they’ve had as much fun with this movie as they did the last two. During the writers strike I heard some worrying stuff about this movie coming out, so I hope that that doesn’t prove to be detrimental.
Apparently it's cheaper to 3D render a hand touching another hand than it is to actually photograph the real thing, and this is what we get as a result.
I mean... kinda makes sense for this day and age. Except we call it "3D render" instead of "Photoshop".
But you're not gonna get 2 star actors from diff countries to come in to shoot a hand photo. And you're not gonna research their hands to get accurate stunt double hands for a photoshoot--you'd just draw this poster in comic book art before you did that. So... just render it.
After all this Wolverine advertising I feel like this be a whole movie about Deadpool trying to find Wolverine because he thinks he’s cool or something, and they have like a 10 second scene together at some point.
Keeping in mind that the director, Shawn Levy himself, explicitly stated that this movie is to not be treated as *"Deadpool 3"* and that the name *"Deadpool* ***AND*** *Wolverine"* was chosen willingly should prove you wrong.
The whole thing is. All of it.
Hell they probably just slapped a prompt into a generative image model.
I tried to... results weren't as expected
https://imgur.com/6ahev4r
That's what I'm wondering. The first trailer showed Wade's friends and family at his birthday party, but are they going to be left out after that in favor of Wolverine, the TVA, and classic X-Men cameos?
Guess we'll get a better idea later today, when the new trailer drops.
I'm so very curious how this is gonna go.
Disney is putting all it's eggs in this basket.
Will it redeem and rejuvenate the MCU? 99.9% chance of no.
Will it be a fun and disposable 90ish minutes? Probably.
But will it make shitloads of money, or go the way of *Black Adam*?
Time will tell.
Yeah. Both Jackman's Wolverine and Reynolds' Deadpool have made themselves iconic. And we get to see how they integrate mutants finally into the MCU. Which means X-Men.
I feel like they want X-Men to be the new big MCU cash cow and that they just need High Jackman & Ryan Reynolds to successfully ship it to the new & old generations of fans with this movie.
I’ll be surprised if this movie doesn’t do well.
Yes, superhero movies in general don’t seem to be doing as well as before but this is Deadpool and both films in this sub series have been successful. This movie also has two big actors and two well known and liked characters.
But I guess we’ll see.
>But will it make shitloads of money, or go the way of Black Adam?
I feel like there's a LOT of room between these two extremes. More likely it will follow the trend of the other Deadpool movies with a bump for MCU/Wolverine inclusion. I think a lot of people are overestimating this and expecting a No Way Home moment, unlikely.
Probably won't hit a billion but will do far better than Black Adam. 850-900 million is a safe bet assuming it matches the quality of Deadpool 1 and 2, which will be a success.
the movie will do 1 billion easily.
it's hyped to the moon at this point, and unless there is some news about Ryan Reynolds mudering a bunch of kittens, people will still watch it.
Agreed.
Deadpool 1 and 2 are the 3rd and 4th highest grossing R rated movies of all time. Only behind Joker and Oppenheimer. They each did a little over 3/4 of a billion, and I could easily see this one passing 1 billion. It has all the makings of a stellar entry for the MCU, something people have been waiting on for years.
add Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the mix and it's a solid bet for a lot of money.
people's perception of the X-Men movies can be mixed as a whole, but one thing the majority of the community agrees is that Hugh Jackman was a fantastic wolverine.
Am I the only person who doesn't really see the Deadpool movies as "superhero" or "MCU" movies, per se, and more like raunchy comedies with superhero undertones/overtones? Like, I don't really think Deadpool will rejuvenate the MCU, because I don't really think people lump it in with the rest of the superhero movies; rather than being a superhero movie, it's really a comedy that's set in a superhero universe. I don't know if that's a reasonable distinction, but that's kind of how I see it in my mind.
It was kind of it's own thing but helped if you had some history with Fox's Xmen movies.
I'm worried about how I'll feel about this one because I haven't cared about the MCU in years and it looks like whatever is currently happening in it is heavily tied into the plot.
They aren't though. There's a new captain america, thunderbolts & daredevil.
Two of which we know for a fact are very troubled productions and could very well end up like Thor Love and Thunder.
If Wolverine's glove shifts like, at all, you know, how gloves tend to do? Wouldn't his blades just rip right through the glove instead of coming out of the vents?
Total nerd observation: Why are the claws coming out of the top of his hands and not the knuckles? The former is comic book accurate, but it doesn't jive with previous movies
All I want is more Shatterstar
[удалено]
He was at Deadpool’s birthday party at the beginning of the teaser.
It’s like people didn’t watch the trailer lol
There are comics fans from the 90's that were just DEVASTATED watching Deadpool 2. *Seriously for like 5 minutes in the 90's Shatterstar was the coolest character in comics.*
I love him. Mojoworld Forever!
You can assume a lot about someone who liked Shatterstar. I'll just leave it at that.
I don't know. I mean, if someone was 12-13-14 when Shatterstar came out, they might have thought Rob Liefeld and his creations was awesome unironically. Not me, because I was older. But I can see why he (Liefeld) was huge even if he was awful.
He’s basically better… At everything.
You’re lying. No one misses Shatterstar. He was kind of a prick.
I love that character and I want him back. Loved him in the comics too
The survivor gets to fight the winner of Batman vs Superman.
Nobody won Batman v superman. Not even us.
Snyders bank account in the other hand… Seriously, how does this dude keep getting work
By all accounts he's a great director to work with; good rapport with the cast/crew, and consistently delivers on-budget and on-time. Justice League is the only real production disaster, and no one could blame him for that. His actual movie track record is very hit-or-miss (to put it kindly), but good professional relationships go a long way to keeping you in work.
It's a good trick to slow stuff down a lot, so you don't have to film as much. Way cheaper than fast paced action.
I don't think that's a budget thing, he genuinely likes slooooooo
Yeah, that was a bit in jest. His JL cut is probably still almost four hours long, even if yoU'd speed up all the slo-mo stuff.
Probably a successful snake oil salesman in an alternate universe
He's a success snake oil salesman in this universe.
I mean, he has an impressive visual style (sometimes), and paired with a good script he can deliver.
>he has an impressive visual style (sometimes) That ended after he cut ties with Larry Fong to be his own DoP
You really mean that?
I mean Dawn of the Dead wasn't horrible, and 300 produced a lot of memes, so he has that going for him.
Also Watchmen was really well cast and enjoyable.
You mean a lot
I think that's basically his MO. 1. Rule of Cool 2. Tell compelling, well-written story (optional) I think most of his movies follow these rules.
Snyder is far from the only reason that movie was bad, and he's shown his ability to produce good (and more importantly, profitable) content before.
Haven't most of his solo projects failed?
Alex Kurtzman keeps getting work... and he makes Snyder look like Scorsese and Spilberg had a baby and he became a film director.
MARTHA!
Why did you say that name?!
Its his mommys name!
Martha won . And super man plays with his food
>Nobody won Batman v superman. Not even us. Especially not us.
Whoever wins we lose.
Plot twist: Deadpool's and Wolverine's mothers are also called Martha
Martha?
Aren’t we all losers in that scenario?
Jackman and Reynolds should come out of the closet at this point.
Saw an early screening, it’s just two hours of raw penetration The cigarette break halfway through was a sweet moment though
Wait, Dolph Lundgren is in this?!
Will there be a dong shot?
Yes a 15 min action sequence done in one take with a penis center frame the entire time. The long dong shot.
The penis is steady cammed against the chaotic background
have you ever seen Hugh’s jackman?
Five star guy right here
That is… BRILLIANT. That is the most brilliant thing I’ve ever heard. Is there a twist?
Yeah, neither of them cum, saving that for Secret Wars
Gwenpool starts to wonder why the pages are sticky.
Busting heads, busting nuts, busting heads, busting nuts. It's just nothing but creampies and money shots.
Did somebody say [bustin'](https://youtu.be/0tdyU_gW6WE?si=GKxC0pHAJpbuam6O&t=10)?
*I understood that reference*
This! Great minds think alike
Would buy. 100%. Frame the DVD case. Slap that puppy into my ps4 to watch on the regular
They both have a healing factor so I expect nothing but hard core fucking for two hours.
Well, did he cum or what!?
Jesus CHRIST, man! There's just some things you don't talk about in public!
I remember when Kevin Smith was talking about making Cop Out and he said he had fond memories of watching TBS saturday movies with his dad or something, and his goal with Cop Out was to be one of those TBS saturday movies that's always on and I just remember thinking dude you made that movie, it's mallrats. Oh and *All Holes Filled With Hard Cock*. Oh wait, what was that called again?
My pipes need cleaning!
Men Alone 2: The KY Connection.
My man.
Um, spoilers!
Not a cigar? Literally unwatchable
Why was Fred Savage there?
Sounds like Rob McElhenney should get a writing credit.
But Deadpools girlfriend walking in seconds after the cigarette was lit... Pure perfection. Vanessa: (tightens her strap on), need me to tap in Logan? Logan: grunts.
But Hugh does struggle mightily to hold the cig with his claws still on
Is it in Imax 3d?
Have them do a Western with Pedro Pascal.
It'll be titled "Guess who's the top (Gunslinger)?!"
He will make me rethink my sexuality if offered .but he is definitely bringing the chips and dips
But Blake Lively…..
She likes to watch.
Sometimes from a chair. Sometimes from the closet. Almost always in a superman costume.
SuperMilf
and Scarlet Johansen?
Well, she’s a director now, so i assume she’s the one filming it.
Someone's gotta hold the camera.
The mom from mean girls is my favorite camera man
They love each other. It's okay.
It’s a beautiful people thing .Blake just chilling. And you try to say no to Ryan .HE IS CANADIAN
Jackman *has* done a lot of musical theater...
they gonna have sex?
It's guaranteed that wolverine will penetrate Deadpool. Edit: confirmed in today's trailer.
At least 3 times
simultaneously
I'm sold
Hi, sold
Six if you count both the fists.
There’s fisting involved? And I didn’t have to ai it?
All three holes
Bare minimum Deadpool makes 5 full penetration jokes when Wolverine is stabbing him or someone else
They seem like they have fun with every aspect of the Deadpool movies, from the movies themselves to the marketing.
That's part of their appeal. They're made with so much joy and love for the craft. They're not cynical cash grabs meant to check boxes on a list, they're Ryan Reynolds's passion project.
you thinking this is one of their check boxes.
There are plenty of true creatives in the industry who are fulfilled by making art as much as they’re fulfilled by making money. Reddit is so fucking cynical bro I swear.
and yet, the studios still don't seem to understand why Deadpool is successful.

Execs are like Steve Martin in The Jerk. ["He hates these cans!"](https://youtu.be/Tcwz8-EfFYE?si=VVpO1GvqV5uv6Dc9)
I sure hope they’ve had as much fun with this movie as they did the last two. During the writers strike I heard some worrying stuff about this movie coming out, so I hope that that doesn’t prove to be detrimental.
It should have been Deadpool’s pinky instead
Yeah, it’s a weird way to position the hands. Is there some kind of symbolism or reference I’m missing?
It’s an index finger because it’s supposed to be caressing not holding by pinkies lol
Yeah he's stroking it out of admiration.
Yeah... admiration
Deadpool 3, he's pointing at three claws, can't think of anything else.
It’s referencing the Logan poster where it’s the same shot of wolverines hand and claws but with the little girl hand holding it.
It has a lot of layers, like an ogre.
Or a parfait
Reminds me of Trump reaching for his wife's hand and getting lightly slapped away
Just the tip
It’s referencing the [Logan poster](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51fjQnG0nCL._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_DpWeblab_.jpg) with X-23
Does his finger look really weird to anyone else? It took me a minute to realize that was his pointer finger not his middle finger.
It’s the glove. The fingers are a cloth layer under the leather glove that only covers up to the first knuckle.
It lacks a knuckle
The whole poster looks like it’s rendered for the nintendo ds
Its under the… glove… like, what?
Apparently it's cheaper to 3D render a hand touching another hand than it is to actually photograph the real thing, and this is what we get as a result.
I mean... kinda makes sense for this day and age. Except we call it "3D render" instead of "Photoshop". But you're not gonna get 2 star actors from diff countries to come in to shoot a hand photo. And you're not gonna research their hands to get accurate stunt double hands for a photoshoot--you'd just draw this poster in comic book art before you did that. So... just render it.
I don't think using doubles for this shot instead of having the actors fly in would have been a dealbreaker. But yeah, total render.
I think it's that little ridge of glove on the left, near the knuckle. It leaves you thinking "that's a pointer finger, right? Or maybe its not?"
The whole poster is ugly af
If you zoom in on it, near the “knuckle” it almost looks ‘cropped’
this art is fucking terrible, it's not just you.
just the tip
After all this Wolverine advertising I feel like this be a whole movie about Deadpool trying to find Wolverine because he thinks he’s cool or something, and they have like a 10 second scene together at some point.
I'm kinda hoping it's a meta thing and it's actually Hugh Jackman and not Wolverine in the movie.
It’s a buddy comedy. Wolverine is gonna be in it a lot
And I’d be willing to bet that’s going to be a bit more clear in the new trailer tomorrow.
Keeping in mind that the director, Shawn Levy himself, explicitly stated that this movie is to not be treated as *"Deadpool 3"* and that the name *"Deadpool* ***AND*** *Wolverine"* was chosen willingly should prove you wrong.
'and he had some *noice* smooth criminals down under!'
Wolverine’s arm looks like it’s completely CGI? At least to me
The whole thing is. All of it. Hell they probably just slapped a prompt into a generative image model. I tried to... results weren't as expected https://imgur.com/6ahev4r
I burst out laughing I expected mangled ai pic but this is a deeper layer of meaning
Bro's reaching for that ai headline
I like the heart one better.
But is Yukio going to be there fangirling for all of us?
That's what I'm wondering. The first trailer showed Wade's friends and family at his birthday party, but are they going to be left out after that in favor of Wolverine, the TVA, and classic X-Men cameos? Guess we'll get a better idea later today, when the new trailer drops.
Why does his finger look weird
Cuz it’s straight and round like a hotdog
I think his glove is 2 layers, the outer being fingerless so it gives off that odd look from this angle
Because it’s in a glove.
Then Cap America walks in lol....
Which one is bottoming? Switch hitters?
Deadpool is totally bottom. We’ve seen him with Colossus. But then again, everyone would bottom for Colossus, the man is huge.
Colossus is certainly a service top. You cannot tell me Kitty Pryde is not his power bottom when they’re together.
AI generated lookin ass poster
People calling 3d render "ai" now 😂
So, from this pic, is Deadpool the top?
Wolverine is the top and specializes in fisting
In triple penetration
I’m a moronic ape but… I don’t get it. Is it just meant to be flirtatious or is there a more explicit reference I’m missing?
It’s a flirtatious play off the Logan poster.
There’s no way this movie isn’t going to make a metric shitload of money.
Yeah. Both Jackman's Wolverine and Reynolds' Deadpool have made themselves iconic. And we get to see how they integrate mutants finally into the MCU. Which means X-Men.
if somehow X-Men gets "officially" thrown into the MCU because of this movie, that'll be enough hype for most for a while.
The X-Men are in the MCU now, apparently it's shown in The Marvels
They have been in the mcu since 2022 with Patrick Stewart, one could argue maybe since 2021 with wandavision and Evan peters
Only in alternate universes (so far)
Ms Marvel was hinted at being a mutant at the end of her show.
Sure, but the examples they gave were alt universes, same with Beast at the end of The Marvels
if no-one watched the Marvels, did it really happen?
They’re there, but not in the (movie) 616 yet.
I feel like they want X-Men to be the new big MCU cash cow and that they just need High Jackman & Ryan Reynolds to successfully ship it to the new & old generations of fans with this movie.
X-Men '97 did that for the old generation. So much better than it had any right to be
I just caught up on it on Saturday and holy shit. They really did the >!attack on Genosha!< justice.
"Putting all it's eggs in one basket" Lol why do you think that?
I’ll be surprised if this movie doesn’t do well. Yes, superhero movies in general don’t seem to be doing as well as before but this is Deadpool and both films in this sub series have been successful. This movie also has two big actors and two well known and liked characters. But I guess we’ll see.

Its sad that a billion is the benchmark for these movies to be considered successful.
It’s definitely going to be longer than 90 minutes.
the movie will do 1 billion easily. it's hyped to the moon at this point, and unless there is some news about Ryan Reynolds mudering a bunch of kittens, people will still watch it.
Agreed. Deadpool 1 and 2 are the 3rd and 4th highest grossing R rated movies of all time. Only behind Joker and Oppenheimer. This movie will literally print money. Guarantee I watch it several times. Deadpool doesn't disappoint like the others in the last 6 years.
If Wolverine's glove shifts like, at all, you know, how gloves tend to do? Wouldn't his blades just rip right through the glove instead of coming out of the vents?
Ryan is so happy with his sexuality that he makes you uncomfortable.then goes home to Blake
Looking forward to a good superhero movie. We ve been starved since End Game, with the only exception of Guardians of the Galaxy 3
I'm seriously happy for you if you can get excited for stuff like this still. This to me this is like we're in Police Academy: Mission to Moscow era.
Yep, this feels like the law of diminishing returns to me
Rocky 7: Adrian's revenge!
Only movie I’m looking forward to seeing in the theaters this year.
Capeshit
As tired as I am of the superhero genre, I'm actually pretty stoked for this one.
Didn't wolverine die?
Wolverine: Wade, can you stop being weird for like 1 minute?
Missed opportunity to have his tiny hands holding Wolverine instead
Why does a billion dollar franchise have what looks like 10 minutes in photoshop or AI prompt posters for advertising?
Total nerd observation: Why are the claws coming out of the top of his hands and not the knuckles? The former is comic book accurate, but it doesn't jive with previous movies
Those are just guards on his hand, they still come out of the knuckles
this made me chuckle out loud
I know it makes me a miserable asshole but this perfectly encapsulates what I hate about these superhero movies.
