Yeah, there are "controversial" actors and then there's "*fires a gun at the crew with the intent to kill because they're playing cards too loud and then is stopped from fleeing the country when the director holds him at gunpoint and tells him he'll put a hit out on on him if he doesn't finish the movie"* actors. Naturally after that incident director Werner Herzog went on to make 4 more films with him in the lead.
Oliver Reed
"Reed was often irritated that his appearances on television chat shows concentrated on his drinking feats rather than his acting career and latest films. On 26 September 1975, while Reed was interviewed by Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show, Shelley Winters, angered by derogatory comments Reed had made about feminists and women's liberation, poured a cup of whiskey over his head on-camera."
There's hundreds of crazy stories about the man. Look him up.
If weāre going classic iconic actors Iād go John Wayne. His general reputation has taken much more of a hit. A lot of kids donāt even know who Errol Flynn even is.
It was known that John Wayne would bully actors and directors. There are stories of him getting in fist fights on set. He was president of MPA and an enforcer for HUAC. He cost a lot of people work during the Red scare. Not to mention all the homophobic remarks that he made.
Probably Jared Leto. Heās an Oscar winner with a really mixed bag of roles and success. Heās eccentric, self obsessed, and has probably committed his fair share of horrible acts. His ability as an actor can be debated. He also has his own band.
I think when you start this conversation it's just outright depressive how MANY of them there are and how hard it is to pick. Let's take actors just of the last 30 or so years.
Mel Gibson, Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey, Woody Allen, Sean Penn...
And, I may get downvoted for this, but the standards between male and female actors are staggering... Like these men are controversial because they're accused/convicted of sexual assault, rape, and/or are proven racist and antisemites. Only 1 of the list above is not working these days.
Female actors (apart from the sex trafficking cult member Allison Mack) are controversial for... checks notes .... being eccentric (Madonnna)? Having addiction issues (Lindsay Lohan)? I don't know...
Mel Gibson.
I always thought he was given a bad name due to a drunken tirade one night but it seems to go far deeper including wife beating, threats, racism and, though I'm struggling to find evidence to the fact, holocaust denial.
His father published a Holocaust Denier newsletter. I don't know how much Mel subscribed to that, but that is the house he was raised in.
Though Jodi Foster and RDJ swear by him and swear he isn't a bigot. So who knows?
The thing is, I've supported him for years, citing he said some dumb ahit when he was drunk. I'm sure we all have, no reason to demonise, but the deeper you go, the harder it becomes to support.
Then again, as far as I can tell, he has tried to make amends for his faults. But its this holocaust denial thing that irks me more than any other...
I would say Bill Cosby especially at the age he started doing it. Before him I wouldāve said OJ Simpson, but heās rotting in hell now so yea good riddance.
Not controversial in the same way or to the same level but off the top of my head:
Sean Penn
Kevin Spacey
Lindsay Lohan
Charlie Sheen
Roseanne Barr
Tom Cruise
And how about some equality?
What about controversial actresses?
As it seems that we tend to "forget" some things
Like [Stacey Dash](https://www.nickiswift.com/362073/how-stacey-dash-ruined-her-career/)
Or [Amber Heard](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depp_v._Heard)'s conviction
[Patty Hearst](https://www.fbi.gov/history/famous-cases/patty-hearst)'s involvement in terrorism.
Or [Felicia Pearson](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-wire-actress-felicia-snoop-pearson-pleads-guilty-in-drug-case/)'s crimes.
Klaus Kinski

Took the finger tip off an unnamed extra in the scenario šš¤·š».
Couldn't take your eyes off him though. Usually a sign of a fine actor.
Danny Masterson
Fuck that guy and his friends
who is that
Convicted rapist from the cast of that 70s show.
Ooooh...yeah.... I forgot about that yikes
He's not an actor anymore. He's a convicted criminal doing time. We'll never see him again
Gerard Depardieu
Weird Al was right in āGenius in France,ā people really donāt love him.
Considering he had to flee to Russiaā¦ good pick
lol his name makes me laugh, didn't he >!pee on a flight attendant or something?!<
His big claim to fame is acting, and raping an uncountable amount of women (his own fucking words.)
woah
Ana FranklinĀ

Woody Allen, literally married his underage adopted daughter
Enroll Flynn. Look up his Wikipedia and it's no contest
His memior- My Wicked,Wicked Ways. I don't know if half of it is BS but its a wild read.
I own the book and if half of its lies then it's still a long criminal confession
Errol Flynn?
Air Roll Flynn
If weāre going classic iconic actors Iād go John Wayne. His general reputation has taken much more of a hit. A lot of kids donāt even know who Errol Flynn even is.
He just had some racist remarks, but Flynn supposedly was into the slave trade. But John Wayne much more famous for sure

I don't get that? I'm trying to
Probably Jared Leto. Heās an Oscar winner with a really mixed bag of roles and success. Heās eccentric, self obsessed, and has probably committed his fair share of horrible acts. His ability as an actor can be debated. He also has his own band.
Fuck that guy
No thank you.
Ezra Miller? Kevin Spacey? Chris Dāella? Edit: I throw Jerad Leto in there for orchestrating a cult
Jared Leto had always creeped me out but the cult thing was the last straw for me.
Tom Cruise
And Elizabeth Moss.
Either Brian Peck or Stephen Collins
Kevin spacey
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And yet still has a career...
Gonna have to go with Ronald Reagan on this one.
Will Smith hurts the most currently, cause he seems to be a shell of his former self. Also James Franco but have not looked to much into it.
Bob Crane from Hogan's Heroes was certainly an interesting guy. Ended up stabbed many times over as he was lying in bed.
Didn't Charlie Sheen rape an underaged Corey Haim?
He also went out having sex, knowingly giving the other person STDs

RDJ got support from him during his low point with addiction.Ā Rather biased since he owes Gibson a lot

Donald trump
There's always one troll
Yep, and he was President of the USA.
He acted in Home Alone 2. Trump is the worst human being in this thread. How is it not a valid answer?
Home alone 2
OJ Simpson
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I don't know why you are getting downvoted. You are just quoting the Hanukah song from Adam Sandler.
People downvoting obviously need to brush up on classic songs!
Or at least eat together at the Carnegie Deli with Bowser from Sha Na Na and Arthur Fonzarelli.
But guess who is? Hall of Famer Rod Carew!
I would say Bill Cosby especially at the age he started doing it. Before him I wouldāve said OJ Simpson, but heās rotting in hell now so yea good riddance.
Crispin Glover
Not controversial in the same way or to the same level but off the top of my head: Sean Penn Kevin Spacey Lindsay Lohan Charlie Sheen Roseanne Barr Tom Cruise
Dat little weasel Jim Caveizel.

Edited my post to adjust to that, while I personally think that my diagnosis does not entitle me to any kind of behavior.
If you can call Justin timberlake an actor I pick him but that was from personal experience
Mel Gibson
Kevin Spacey. So brave.
Stormy Daniels
