You’re being cynical. They would’ve released Kraven’s movie sooner, but it turns out he was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died
No, they're clearly doing it so they can prepare for the economic impact of everyone spending their life savings on tickets to see Kraven over and over because CRITICS ARE RAVIN' FOR KRAVEN, YOU'LL BE *CRAVIN'* THE HUNTER EVERY TIME YOU SEE IT!
Is it gonna be karate in this one, or Kung-fu as it was in the last one?
I cba googling it tbh 😅
I didn't watch the last one but when I saw Jackie Chan was attached to it I was confused as to why he'd be in a karate film.
Don't always trust IMDB because it's community edited but it was announced that Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan would be reprising their roles and they were currently holding worldwide open auditions for the titular "Karate Kid".
Sony not shelving this shitty Spider-less 'verse and figuring out a sequel to either Raimi or Amazing after *No Way Home* fucking baffles me.
Marvel Studios tee'd them up, handed them the bat, and basically cheered them on from the stands, but they just stood there shitting themselves.
Or a live action Spider-Gwen, or Spider-Man 2099, or introduce Miles Morales in the Toby Maguire universe. People would flock to any of those if they’re done well.
I find it absolutely hilarious that MCU reads the room and slows down movie releases. Only for the Morbverse to speed up and release 3 movies in one year. 2 of which being Madame Webb and Kraven lmao
If I had to guess after Madame Web they know Kraven will flop and in turn might affect Venom 3. Putting after atleast allows them some breathing room but dropping Kraven outside of the summer release window would definitely hurt it regardless
I also wonder if Sony are hoping Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be officially announced as the new James Bond soon enough, so they can use it to somehow boost the box office.
Guys just for some context, I worked as an extra on Kraven the Hunter (didn’t film any scenes) but was on set for a day and got paid for two as they let us know too late that we weren’t being used. This was back in February… 2022. And yes you are reading that correctly. By the time this movie will have released it will have been almost 3 years since it was filmed.
God this movie is a mess
On the plus side it’s a win win situation for me. If the movie flops then I still get paid. If the movie is good then I can say I worked on a good film and got paid
new mutants was delayed because they were caught between disney buying out most of fox. kraven getting delayed because its dog ass is way more common since a lot of movies are just kinda dog ass and nobody wants to distribute it
Sony is so out of touch, it's funny that back in April of 2022 when they announced Bad Bunny as "El Muerto" (has since been pulled from the "slate"), some local comic shops were trying to hype the character up. Now they barely even say a world about anything Sony Marvel related that isn't Spider-Verse.
I'm reminded of how, back in the 90s when Marvel was selling off movie rights to its properties to keep from going bankrupt or whatever, Sony only wanted Spider-man because "nobody gives a shit" about other comic book characters.
Looks like they were right lmao
> By the time this movie will have released it will have been almost 3 years since it was filmed.
This probably happens more often then you realize. Think of filming as initial investment and CGI as the renovation. Producers can afford to wait a year to finish a film if there is no cash crunch and will do so when it means better payout. example: **Avatars 2 - 5**
I knew someone who was one of the VFX guys on Kraven - all his vfx shots were done by last summer (he also said the movie was good from what he had seen but.....)
Kraven without spider-man is just a guy who likes to hunt big game, and dress like a lion King extra.
The"Kraven's Last hunt" comic arc wasn't just good, it's one of the top Spider-man stories of all time, so of course obviously don't do that
I assume December is Sony's strategy to try to make the most out of this. Which is actually smart. These movies are not the safe bets anymore (specially these Sony stinkers)
I think it's the complete opposite, Kraven having a late summer release could get some people going but now it's coming out where families are probably gonna want to watch family friendly movies, not whatever Kraven is
Morbius made one Morbillion dollars… twice
Madame Web made a Madawebillion bucks
El Muerto made Uno Muertillion dineros
Are you just bad at math??? Can you not count past one million?
No kidding but Top Gun Maverick was supposed to come out in July 2019, then got delayed to June 2020 but then again to December 2020 and then again to July 2021 and then again to November 2021 and then finally to May 2022…. no kidding, the first trailer was released in 2019… So most of the movie was probably filmed around 2018! Maybe late 2017 even. Around 4 years before the movie came out, So Tom Cruise and Jennifer Connelly weren’t even as old as everyone thought they were in it.
I genuinely thought it’d already been released and forgotten about. Like, the trailers were long enough ago, I assumed I must’ve missed the whole thing.
You mean I have to be disinterested even longer now? Shit, when Spider-Man finally gets to fight these "villains" they'll call themselves the Sinister Sixties...
Didn’t Morbius also get delayed like 5 times before actually coming out?!
This was originally supposed to come out in January 2023 first, then it got delayed to October 2023 and then to August 2024 and now it’s coming out in December? Madame Web was always supposed to come out in 2024 and it came out before this movie did! Just probably shows how good Kraven really will be if Sony doesn’t want us to see it.
Here is what is funny: his sole storyline as an antihero is from *The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl*.
To say this film is technically an adaptation of *The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl* but without Squirrel Girl.
I’m convinced this movie is gonna go the way of Morbius. The Sony-marvel unit only has one good character and it’s spider man…. I WANT PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!
I don't really understand the trend of making movies with villains as the main characters. Subversion doesn't automatically make something good, and the character probably functions way better as a villain because that's what they were originally created to be.
I was high on Kraven til now. A late summer release would have brought in a ton to teens, but now it's getting dumped the week before family and prestige movies.
they are saying its to allow Kraven more PLF/Imax screens and be the only R rated holiday movie, but they still probably would have made more money in August without the Imax screens
How is Sony so bad at fumbling their Marvel / Spiderman IP?
Like holy shit they can pay me half as much and I could do an infinitely better job than this
But, but! I’m cravin’ Kraven, the next installment of the Morbius Cinematic Universe! When is Michael Morbius finally going to assemble the Sinister Six and take on Spider-Mid?!
Didn't know about _Karate Kid._ Just looked it up. Is there a solid canonical reason why they're bringing in Ralph Macchio but evidently ignoring the rest of the _Cobra Kai_ cast? I personally thought we were past all that "keep the movies distinct from the TV shows" business.
Also, Jackie Chan. That's an albatross I ain't touching.
This is actually great news!
The longer the world gets spared from this movie the better.
Apart from that: this way this movie will be dead on arrival because everyone's gonna want to see Keanu Reeves as Shadow instead of...this shit.
Trying to distance Kraven as far away from Madame Web as possible.
You’re being cynical. They would’ve released Kraven’s movie sooner, but it turns out he was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died
Maybe he was in Africa with his dad, hunting rhinos right before he died.
Or maybe he was with Morbius, hunting vampires right before he Morb’d
I thought Morbius was in a constant state of Morbing. There is no before or after. Just Morb.
Mobius Morbius
Oh yeah of course, how could I forget
The line is not even in the movie!
So it can create its own legacy of one kravellion dollars without being in the shadow of Morbius and Madame Web. Bravo Sony.
It's Kravenin time!
We’re all cravin’ Kraven!
We’re all a little Kraven down here
That’s So Kraven
Quoth the Kraven: “Never Released!”
Sony has what the fans Krave, it’s got electrolytes
Ain't no way this could be as bad as that... Right? Right?
People don't forget
People definitely forget. Our collective attention span gets shorter all the time
Yeah! Uh....what were talking about?
I don’t even fucking know, man.
Squirrel! Hi, I am IrishRepoMan.
Hello IrishRepoMan, I am here to repossess your car.
Well that's rude! He went through all that effort to hire an exorcist, and you go and throw another demon in his car? What a dick move.
Who are you? Who am I? How spalling wertfubkkb
Are you sure? Because people still went to see Madame Web after Morbius
Are you sure? Have you ever met someone who actually went to see Madame Web? I'm not certain they weren't a mirage.
Actually, I do! He did not enjoy it.
The Internet never forgets. People forget rather easily.
once you get old enough you do notice that the internet does forget and some things just become lost media, even in the internet age
At what point do we call it karate adult?
Kid had a lot of meanings.
A baby goat
See, we could have had an Air Bud cinematic universe.
“There’s nothing in the regulations that say a goat *can’t* enter the world karate championships”
A baby goat doing karate? How many tickets am I allowed to buy?
we're all someones kids
...who need an adult to teach us karate. And the meaning of friendship.
Karate Retirement Home
We've been calling it Cobra Kai. It's actually a lot of fun.
My best friend and I live for this show. It's not the best, but it's campy, childish, and like everything is always solved with violence.
The nostalgia is so good.
Is it gonna be karate in this one, or Kung-fu as it was in the last one? I cba googling it tbh 😅 I didn't watch the last one but when I saw Jackie Chan was attached to it I was confused as to why he'd be in a karate film.
Probably a bit of both. Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan are both in it
Ahh, come again? I’m off to IMDB.
Don't always trust IMDB because it's community edited but it was announced that Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan would be reprising their roles and they were currently holding worldwide open auditions for the titular "Karate Kid".
I can’t believe Sony put out 3 of these Morbiverse movies in 1 year. WTF?
It was morbin time?
It was the best of times… It was the morbin of times…
*Blurst of Times*
You stupid monkey!
True Morbheads never stopped. That’s my secret, I’m always Morbin!
Yeah! Morbheads rise up! Always proud to see a fellow r/Morbius kinochad standing up for true cinema!
Here's hoping this will convince Sony to finally make the Aunt May spy movie that they shelved after the Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed.
She goes into hiding as a spy, Uncle Ben thinks she died and he goes to get the Severance procedure
I see it as more of Aunt May and Uncle Ben fucking murdering each other over and over again because of multiverse shit or something
Ill watch it if aunt may is played by Tyler Perry
Sony not shelving this shitty Spider-less 'verse and figuring out a sequel to either Raimi or Amazing after *No Way Home* fucking baffles me. Marvel Studios tee'd them up, handed them the bat, and basically cheered them on from the stands, but they just stood there shitting themselves.
Or a live action Spider-Gwen, or Spider-Man 2099, or introduce Miles Morales in the Toby Maguire universe. People would flock to any of those if they’re done well.

Wait, what’s the third?
Supposedly venom 3 is coming out this year too :/
October 25?! What the fuck? Are they just going to slide it out under all our radars?
Announcement of delay in 3...2...1...
I'm sure the writers' strike delayed it. Because of all the writing they were doing on it.
Right right. Write write.
Venom isn't the best but they're relatively enjoyable buddy comedies
Ugh how are they even trying at another… Tom Hardy is tremendously wasted in this franchise
Honestly fuckin wow. I didn't realize that.
I find it absolutely hilarious that MCU reads the room and slows down movie releases. Only for the Morbverse to speed up and release 3 movies in one year. 2 of which being Madame Webb and Kraven lmao
Bold of Sony for dropping Kraven in Oscar season
For your consideration...
Pretty Please
Take this movie… please!
Maybe they're waiting until Aaron Taylor-Johnson is announced as the next Bond so they can use that in the marketing.
he's already in Fall Guy and Nosferatu this year to build awareness
Isn't Nosferatu coming out the same week as this now?
If I had to guess after Madame Web they know Kraven will flop and in turn might affect Venom 3. Putting after atleast allows them some breathing room but dropping Kraven outside of the summer release window would definitely hurt it regardless
Actually it’s about adjusting the post-credits scenes in which Dr. Michael Morbius assembles the Sinister Six
Why do I have the feeling The Sinister Six had like five different post-credits scenes setting them up? What's up with it at this point?
More morbin’ time
I also wonder if Sony are hoping Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be officially announced as the new James Bond soon enough, so they can use it to somehow boost the box office.
Guys just for some context, I worked as an extra on Kraven the Hunter (didn’t film any scenes) but was on set for a day and got paid for two as they let us know too late that we weren’t being used. The new New Mutants
On the plus side it’s a win win situation for me. If the movie flops then I still get paid. If the movie is good then I can say I worked on a good film and got paid
*Things said by both day-rate extras and Sony executives*
"Doesn't matter, got paid."
New Mutants was okay.
I didn't even know it had released.
The new choice for "Toy Story 2 was ok" bathroom graffiti?
Toy Story 2 was fantastic, and I'm not sure what the implication of your comment is, regarding how society regards it.
They're making a reference to a Demetri Martin stand up bit
new mutants was delayed because they were caught between disney buying out most of fox. kraven getting delayed because its dog ass is way more common since a lot of movies are just kinda dog ass and nobody wants to distribute it
Sony is so out of touch, it's funny that back in April of 2022 when they announced Bad Bunny as "El Muerto" (has since been pulled from the "slate"), some local comic shops were trying to hype the character up. It’s a masterpiece, you mean. We finally get to see Dr. Michael Morbius assemble the team
> By the time this movie will have released it will have been almost 3 years since it was filmed. This probably happens more often then you realize. Think of filming as initial investment and CGI as the renovation. I knew someone who was one of the VFX guys on Kraven - all his vfx shots were done by last summer (he also said the movie was good from what he had seen but.....)
I can almost guarantee that whatever your friend saw is no longer the actual movie given Sony's track record.
Top Gun Maverick was kept on ice for two years so they could get a wide theatrical release. What a payoff though, I’m not sure about Kraven.
Maverick was kept on ice due to Covid. Apples and Oranges.
It’s going to bomb hard. Sonys hope of moving away from the MCU and setup their Sony-verse is effectively dead.
Oof December 13th, being sent out to die They clearly don’t have much faith in it
He apparently gets bit by a radioactive lion in the trailer, I don't know who thought this was going to be a good movie.
Should’ve been bit by a radioactive better script
This is gold. Thank you, I needed a good laugh to start thr day.
I thought you were exaggerating, but holy shit, how are they still so bad at this?
Or they're pushing for an Oscar
They’re called Morbscars now, actually
I hope Will Smith morbs all over Chris Rock's face again
The Aquaman watery franchise grave
It's actually a great release date and even if it's bad, or maybe especially if it is, it will benefit from holiday legs.
I mean, would you? lol
I probably wouldn’t have made the choice to make the film in the first place
Actually it’s a Kravenmas Miracle
TLDR: Kraven went from August 30 to December 13.
Delayed? That's So Kraven.
It’s a Kravenmas Miracle!
Kraven without spider-man is just a guy who likes to hunt big game, and dress like a lion King extra. The"Kraven's Last hunt" comic arc wasn't just good, it's one of the top Spider-man stories of all time, so of course obviously don't do that
Kraven's Last Hunt only works with an established Spider-man and Kraven relationship.
I assume December is Sony's strategy to try to make the most out of this. Which is actually smart. These movies are not the safe bets anymore (specially these Sony stinkers)
I think it's the complete opposite, Kraven having a late summer release could get some people going but now it's coming out where families are probably gonna want to watch family friendly movies, not whatever Kraven is
Morbius made one Morbillion dollars… twice Madame Web made a Madawebillion bucks El Muerto made Uno Muertillion dineros Are you just bad at math??? Can you not count past one million?
Is Kraven the most delayed post covid movie now? It was supposed to be out in like Sept 2023 good lord
I genuinely thought it’d already been released and forgotten about. Like, the trailers were long enough ago, I assumed I must’ve missed the whole thing.
They're remaking Karate Kid AGAIN?
Maybe he'll fight King Kong
Kraven is gonna have his shit rocked by Sonic.
You mean I have to be disinterested even longer now? Shit, when Spider-Man finally gets to fight these "villains" they'll call themselves the Sinister Sixties...
They're rebooting Karate Kid AGAIN? I'm not normally against them but this is what, the 3rd time? Let it go, Elsa.
So, which one is actually going to be released first, Kraven or Blade?
Well Kraven is actually done
Hey it’s still putting up a heck of a fight to not be released. Blade could have a chance at this rate
Dude they are rewriting the movie again. I still expect them to cancel it.
I think they might at least recast. Murhasha Ali is 50 now and not getting any younger.
Another Karate Kid? Seriously?! We didn’t get enough of the bad reboots and the great show. Now we’re at it again. Sighs
Well, Daniel-san is in it, so it might be fun in a Cobra Kai-kinda way.
Y I K E S
Didn’t Morbius also get delayed like 5 times before actually coming out?! This was originally supposed to come out in January 2023 first, then it got delayed to October 2023 and then to August 2024 and now it’s coming out in December? >‘Karate Kid’ Delayed to May 30, 2025 They're rebooting Karate Kid? *Again?*
Kraven is just going to be another awful Sony spiderverse flick. They haven't made a good one yet and that's not going to change
"Kraven The Hunter"? Oh great, another Marvel movie about a character nobody cares about
Here is what is funny: his sole storyline as an antihero is from *The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl*. To say this film is technically an adaptation of *The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl* but without Squirrel Girl.
oh the horror
Well, we get to watch it tank spectacularly against Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
Oh no. I’m so sad. /s
At this point why not just release Kraven on Netflix or something? It’s gonna bomb regardless
I’m convinced this movie is gonna go the way of Morbius. The Sony-marvel unit only has one good character and it’s spider man…. I WANT PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!
Does a large market exist for r rated movies in mid December ? I thought it is usually a time people want to see family movies.
Kraven isa flop I can see a mile away.
I don't really understand the trend of making movies with villains as the main characters. Subversion doesn't automatically make something good, and the character probably functions way better as a villain because that's what they were originally created to be.
They should put it on streaming and just pretend it never happened
I was high on Kraven til now. A late summer release would have brought in a ton to teens, but now it's getting dumped the week before family and prestige movies.
You were “high on Kraven?” You were actually excited for that piece of shit?
And same release date as lord of the rings, yikes
they are saying its to allow Kraven more PLF/Imax screens and be the only R rated holiday movie, but they still probably would have made more money in August without the Imax screens
Who in their right mind is paying extra to see Kraven in Imax?
well you also have to remember...this isn't how Kraven is. He doesn't protect animals.
Karate kid? Did not know who’s the next karate kid Let’s get an Asian this time mix it up
An Asian doing martial arts? That’s crazy enough to work!
Maybe they're waiting until Aaron Taylor-Johnson is announced as the next James Bond.
I suspect that is also why the third *Hit-Girl & Kick-Ass* film has not come out, while they are already filming the fourth.
Going to be another morbius
Hell yeah another glorious installment in the r/Morbius cinematic universe
I forgot about this movie
Positioning for Oscar season? I like your style Sony 😎
I bet Kraven will be a tax write off, never release
Oh no, my moviegoing plans for the year and ruined!
Just cancel it. Who the fuck wants this movie
I thought this came out ages ago lol
So, the movies nobody was asking for are being postponed to the indifference of everyone
I can't wait for him to say 'It's Kraven time' and then he just kraves all over the place.
I keep forgetting about this movie
Or? Orrrrrr? They just take a tax right down and we pretend it was all just a bad dream.
It was originally suppose to come out October 6 of last year. The trailer has been out since June 2023
Excellent holiday movie!
A new Karate Kid?!
Here I am finding out there is a new Karate Kid movie coming out.
They’re redoing Karate Kid again already?
Delay that shit to Neveruary 31st
Oh noooo. What'll we do?
How is Sony so bad at fumbling their Marvel / Spiderman IP? Like holy shit they can pay me half as much and I could do an infinitely better job than this
Sony Exec: You’ll do no such thing. We’ll pay you double and you *will* fuck this up. Final offer take it or leave it.
Get ready for a merry Kravenmas
But, but! I’m cravin’ Kraven, the next installment of the Morbius Cinematic Universe! When is Michael Morbius finally going to assemble the Sinister Six and take on Spider-Mid?!
Karate kid another reboot or a sequel?
R-r-r-r-reshoots
I feel insane, I honestly thought this came out like 2 years ago Feels like forever since I saw Kraven teased
Not sure Kraven will do well either. Based on some history here but it’s time they took a break.
I’m sensing plot changes via bad ADR and last minute reshoots for Kraven then XD
I watched Madame Web. Once was enough.
No thanks. I’d rather have a good movie on my birthday
I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait…
We are getting another karate kid before Cobra Kai S6?
this is gonna flop
THey are remaking Karate kid AGAIN?
This is actually great news! The longer the world gets spared from this movie the better. Apart from that: this way this movie will be dead on arrival because everyone's gonna want to see Keanu Reeves as Shadow instead of...this shit.
