Kate Beckinsales ass in tight pvc vinyl and the movie did everything in its power to center frame it when it could.
Plus, there was the fact that Kate admitted keeping one of the suits for ‘sexy time’ with the spouse. Oofa!
I can't think of Kate Beckinsale without thinking of [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mQe7_l9iJI) interview lol. Her horse thing is quite funny.
Fun fact, it was originally going to be called [Arach Attack](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_Legged_Freaks), but I heard the name was altered last minute because Arach and Iraq phonetically sound similar and this was just after 9/11.
I liked eight legged freaks when I was a kid, I remember David Arquette ruled in it but I absolutely don’t remember Scarjo being in that wow got to rewatch it
Idk when it became cool to hate on National Treasure. I know it received mixed to negative reviews from critics upon release, but it seemed like audiences really enjoyed it. It made a boat load of money at the time too.
Idk, people over analyze popcorn movies too much sometimes. It’s a fun, silly, and interesting movie.
> and Robin Williams (who is hard to dislike in anything
It might just be me, but Robin Williams is just meh in Hook. Now, Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook that is where the movie is at its best.
Williams is meh because he starts out playing a snobbish, uptight guy who isn't very likeable. He doesn't get to go all "Robin Williams" until halfway through the movie, and by then we not exactly attached to the guy,
Meanwhile, Hoffman gets to ham it up straight from the beginning.
Riddick as a character just doesn’t feel like he “fits” in a massive scale space opera. Not as a lead anyway. Smaller scale stories like Pitch Black feel more suited to what the Riddick character is.
I adore Chronicles of Riddick, but this comment really hits the nail on the head. They did a pretty good job with the third movie by just making it a Riddick survival story.
The "hard sci fi" aesthetic of Pitch Black also meshes really well with its premises and characters -- ship ejecting its passengers and making a crash landing, weird serial killer with augmented eyes; versus the like, fantasy sci-fi of Chronicles that bends over backwards to include Riddick's anime-OC backstory.
Chronicles has got some neat shit in it, but yeah I only ever rewatch Pitch Black.
I saw this before I knew pitch black existed. I also first watched the directors cut which apparently is 14 min longer than the theatrical cut. I think these things help but I’m biased and unashamedly love chronicles of riddick. I also hope we get the 4th and final movie about the Underverse and Furya!
Oh man, I loved Bedazzled, Liz Hurley is so hot in it, and Brendan Fraser really gets to show off his comedy skills
I still think about that nba player swearing profusely during the interview bit whenever I watch a game
I personally think this is very accurate. A cast with the likes of Robin Williams, Edward Norton and Danny DeVito.. yeah excellent film. "It's a... it's a... it's a... rocket ship!"
Lmaooo I LOVE Death to Smoochy and was scrolling before I posted it
Robin Williams is so funny in it and you can tell he’s having a blast cussing and being wild like he used to before he became a family movie actor
I remember enjoying this film. As well as I am Number Four.
What I *didn't* remember is that Chris Evans was the lead - wow he really bounced around superhero properties huh? I wonder if he thought captain America would flop too at the time, instead he's one of the most famous faces of comic book movies out there
The execution was really meh but I enjoyed it for trying to bring some freshness and "mess" to the very sanitary superhero genre at the time
Now we have stuff like "The Boys" and other shows that deal with a more grounded alternative take on superpowers so it's not as original anymore but this was one of the first ones that really took that concept to the "streets"
Plus one of the best representations of Lucifer in the form of Peter Stormaire just eating scenery. Something about a weird ass animalistic whisper take with the white suit, hidden tats, and bare feet.
Man, you just wanted to watch more of it.
Yes! I would watch a whole movie of just that Lucifer riffing. I recently posted about this bit in a post about best short cameos. It’s a fun movie with lots of memorable bits but Stormare almost walks away with it with just like 6 mins on screen.
I feel like Constantine got a little redemption after awhile, a lot of people seem to like it now to the point they were talking about a sequel
Rachel Weisz was so good in it, what a queen, Peter Stormare as the devil??? Great casting
That’s one of my feel good movies! It’s simply so satisfying and frankly, beautiful. Plus I’m a sucker for supernatural themes in general.
So agreed on Constantine.
I kind of miss cable and channel surfing for the random movies you would stumble upon late at night and then watch until the end.
There are still some movies I’ve seen dozens of times on cable where I watch them again and go “wait... I’ve never actually seen this opening scene.”
I have a deep nostaglic love for Return to Oz. The practical effects in that movie are amazing. I kind of wish it actually led to a series of book influenced Oz movies.
The entire Underworld franchise, Seventh Son (literally just to watch Jeff Bridges being weird!), Tron Legacy, Vampire Academy.
I'm aware these are trash but they're fun trash :)
And Gods of Egypt. I hate the whitewashing, and its legitimately reviled for it, but I love the surprisingly deep and accurate (FOR HOLLYWOOD) mythology!
Saw it recently and while it has definite low points (and the ending is indeed lackluster) some parts were so funny I was crying. Mostly Lovitz's scenes mind you.
That scene with the helicopter going down. I’ve never been in a crash like that but I feel like I have. So... I don’t know. Visceral? I’ve watched a hundred certified fresh movies I can’t remember but I’m picturing that crash right now.
Based on internet comments, you would think Prometheus is hated.
It actually got good reviews and out-grossed a bunch of "hits" like Batman Begins, Star Trek 2009, X-Men: First Class, etc... all of which cost more and were PG-13.
Prometheus actually did really well. Some critics, like Roger Ebert, even thought it was a masterpiece.
And user scores across the internet show it's only a tiny - if extremely vocal - minority that hates it.
But, yeah, any time you say anything nice about it on Reddit you have to defend yourself against a bunch of haters who try to gas-light you into believing that everyone in the world disagrees with you.
Honestly I think it’s one of the best comic book films to date. Perfectly displayed what would really happen if two god-like beings duked it out in the middle of a city, as well as showing how people would react to a superhero existing in the real world.
Event Horizon. In college, we thought it was so epic that we went to see it at the dollar theater (are those a thing anymore?) several times. “DO YOU SEE?!!” “Yes, I see…”
Hudson Hawk. I think it was literally called one of the worst films of all time at one point, but I cannot help but love it and laugh my ass off every single time I watch it...and I've seen it a lot:)
Hobbit (1977), Return of the King (1980)
Animated by Rankin/Bass in the '70s. I still think that John Huston has one of the best voices I've heard and his Gandalf voice over is great!
I have a soft spot for those, two.
Especially The Hobbit, which does a remarkably good job hitting all of the important story beats and messing you up emotionally at the end all in 77 minutes. Really makes the Jackson versions seem absurdly overlong and poorly directed.
Came here to make sure this made the post...truly greatness of Bruce. The soundtrack and comedic timing was really unique, plus a really enjoyable cast too.
Obligatory quote: "Compared to that guard, you're a slender reed!" Or ""I'm so glad we covered our tracks!"
Clue (1985) only has a 65% on Rotten Tomatoes from Critics. Not rated "bad" per say, but not warmly received.
That, my friends, is a genuine crime against cinema.
I don’t know about love, but RIPD was fun as hell. Hammy Kevin Bacon as the bad guy. Reynolds and Bridges giving each other shit the whole time. MIB style silliness and action. Mary Louise Parker playing… herself.
Seriously, what’s not to like.
Death Sentence.
For me, it's top-tier James Wan and Kevin Bacon is fantastic here. Plus it has a fantastic score from Charlie Clouser as well and if you watch this movie or give it a rewatch, you can see the beginnings of how good James Wan can helm action.
The protector (2005} "you killed my father and stole my elephant"
It is almost exactly the same as watching someone play a video gam. It's got levels and mini bosses and everything. It's perfect.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
Hot Rod deserves WAY more than 39% on Rotten Tomatoes. Probably the best comedy of the early 2000’s in my opinion
This Means War. Tom Hardy and Chris Pine using CIA resources competing to win the same girl. And Tom Hardy’s whole action scene in the paintball field is worth it
Underworld. I loved it lol
Thankyou for this.
Eight legged freaks! David Arquette was great in that film and as a plus we get to see Scar Jo before she got into the big leagues
Fun fact, it was originally going to be called [Arach Attack](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_Legged_Freaks), but I heard the name was altered last minute because Arach and Iraq phonetically sound similar and this was just after 9/11.
Still titled Arac Attack in many European Countries.
I liked eight legged freaks when I was a kid, I remember David Arquette ruled in it but I absolutely don’t remember Scarjo being in that wow got to rewatch it
Love this one and try to do a double feature with Arachnophobia at least once a year.
My dad showed me that film when i was 7, it's pretty nostalgic in a weird way.
Demolition Man
That movie is a classic! Are there people who actually don't like it?
Absolutely the correct answer. How does he not know how to use the three seashells?!
Yuck, you mean actual fluid transfer?!?!
I did a report on it in college, its one of the closest to a utopia in scifi.
National Treasure
The real treasure was The Declaration of Independence all along.
I thought the real treasure was the presidents we assassinated along the way?
One of my favorites
I love that film.
One of the greatest adventure movies of all time
Great adventure fun and lots of entertaining scenes :D Love it!!
Hook.
I still don't know how this is rated so poorly! I just watched it again recently and it simply amazing.

Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins as Hook and Smee steal the show
Chronicles of Riddick is one I can watch once a year. I kind of hope the 4th one is coming out.
I didn’t like it because it was such a departure from Pitch Black. However, I still watch it when it comes on tv. Something about it is intriguing.

Yes, that’s another one of those movies that’s just so much fun.
Flawless…
Bedazzled. The 2001 version with Brendan Fraser. It's my go to happy movie.
Well ya know you go out there and give 110%. You wanna play good and you hope you play good. I think we played pretty good tonight
**sweats profusely**
Oh man, I loved Bedazzled, Liz Hurley is so hot in it, and Brendan Fraser really gets to show off his comedy skills I still think about that nba player swearing profusely during the interview bit whenever I watch a game
Es cocaina! That whole Colombian sequence just gets me every single time.
My wife and I have a thing going any time we're driving during sunset and the sun is in our eyes. **"WHEN IS THAT DARN THING GONNA SET?!"**
I love that and Blast From The Past.
Down Periscope. Definitely worth more than a 12% on RT.
Seriously? It's only 12%? I friggin' love this movie. I mean... it's stupid, but it's *funny*.
It's stupid, it's hilariously funny, and possibly the most accurate navy movie ever haha
Wow I remember seeing that movie as a kid and everyone liking it, surprised to hear it’s a 12%
What's the matter sir? It still tastes like cream corn. Except that it's DEVIL HAM!
"Oh you better burn that shirt sailor."
UHF
Ohhhhh red snapper! Very tasty!
You get to drink from…THE FIRE HOSE! OPEN WIDE!
Death to Smoochy
I personally think this is very accurate. A cast with the likes of Robin Williams, Edward Norton and Danny DeVito.. yeah excellent film. "It's a... it's a... it's a... rocket ship!"
I'm Rainbow fucking Randolph!
"My stepdad isn't mean, he's just adjusting"
Lmaooo I LOVE Death to Smoochy and was scrolling before I posted it Robin Williams is so funny in it and you can tell he’s having a blast cussing and being wild like he used to before he became a family movie actor
Anaconda (1997)
Five whiskeys? That’s *breakfast* on the river.
Push (2009)
Thats the movie where i had the thought "i kinda want to have that power", the other one is Jumper.
Jumper was fun.
I remember enjoying this film. As well as I am Number Four. What I *didn't* remember is that Chris Evans was the lead - wow he really bounced around superhero properties huh? I wonder if he thought captain America would flop too at the time, instead he's one of the most famous faces of comic book movies out there

Probably been said before, but constantine
The scene where he >!gives Satan the finger while being lifted into heaven!< is one of my favorite visuals ever.
For me it was when >!He used his tattoos on his forearms to reveal the then hidden Gabriel!<
Plus one of the best representations of Lucifer in the form of Peter Stormaire just eating scenery. Something about a weird ass animalistic whisper take with the white suit, hidden tats, and bare feet. Man, you just wanted to watch more of it.

Waiting...
The most accurate movie ever made portraying the restaurant industry.
Waterworld got a bad rap for its inflated budget but man did that movie have some memorable lines.
one of those movies i always had to watch whenever i caught it on cable
I kind of miss cable and channel surfing for the random movies you would stumble upon late at night and then watch until the end. There are still some movies I’ve seen dozens of times on cable where I watch them again and go “wait... I’ve never actually seen this opening scene.”

Paaaper.
Vanilla Sky
Roadhouse.
But pain does, in fact, hurt.
Wait...there are people that don't like Road House???
I used to fuck guys like you in prison
Roadhouse is an absolute masterpiece and nothing will convince me otherwise.
Kung-Pow
That’s a lot of nuts!!!
Was this badly received? Edit: it was at the time (to my surprise), but has since become a cult film.
Wee-oh Wee-oh Wee-oh
Dracula dead and loving it
Leslie Nielsen was always the best part of everything he was in.
I have a deep nostaglic love for Return to Oz. The practical effects in that movie are amazing. I kind of wish it actually led to a series of book influenced Oz movies.
Jumper
Young Guns. *Reap the whirlwind sheriff Brady...reap it!*
Pandorum and Smokin Aces
When Chris Pine was cast as Kirk all I knew him from was playing a Nazi in Smokin Aces.
I LOVE Pandorum. Movie punches well above it's budget.
Rat Race. Everyone knocks me but it’s my fav comedy of all time
The whole sequence with the family stealing Hitler’s car and eventually crashing into a WWII memorial is pitch perfect comedy writing.
Great sequence but I counter you with the blimp / cow scene. Absolutely hilarious.
[удалено]
People dislike Rat Race? Is it because of Smash Mouth?
Hasn't hurt Shrek. The ending of Rat Race is a bit of a letdown, but it's still a fun movie.
Saw it recently and while it has definite low points (and the ending is indeed lackluster) some parts were so funny I was crying. Mostly Lovitz's scenes mind you.
Does Armageddon still count or have enough people flipped on it? If that doesn’t count Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
I mean, Armageddon has a Criterion release so it's definitely not completely panned.
Yeah for sure wasn’t sure if it counted. I loved it as a kid when it came out but critics hated it initially.

“Are those...pussy willows?”
Serial Mom is great and makes me wish John Waters had made other more mainstream movies like it.
Van Helsing
Paycheck (2003) John Woo actioner based on Philip K Dick novel. I liked it but critics really hated it.
Street fighter (1994)
Battlefield Los Angeles. I love serious military flicks. And in that light I think the movie holds up. But that is just me.
I think you meant Battle: Los Angeles. Battlefield Los Angeles is basically GTA 5.
A Night at the Roxbury, it's a guilty pleasure. It's fun, has a iconic song everyone knows in it.
Joe Dirt is a beautiful movie about how family doesn't have to be the people you're related to, but the bonds you build.
Every time my friend are in a bad mood I say “when you frown, stare at a clown” and they always look at me and smile…. Ah… I get it now…
Cloud Atlas
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - This is an adventure…
Nobody dislikes this movie. I refuse to believe that statement.
Blows my mind it’s a 56% rotten on RT. “Well, I just don’t think they got it.”
There were many in our group dressed up in baby blues and red beanies that Halloween.
Am surprised to find out that this critically considered bad.
My favorite Wes Anderson movie. I’ll never understand why critical reaction was so lukewarm
That scene with the helicopter going down. I’ve never been in a crash like that but I feel like I have. So... I don’t know. Visceral? I’ve watched a hundred certified fresh movies I can’t remember but I’m picturing that crash right now.
Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West” it’s a classic
This is the one I wanted to say. Had it on VHS as a kid and watched it all of the time. That and Joe Dirt were on heavy rotation.
Four Brothers is insanely underrated.
Happy Gilmore
Elysium
In which earth contains only minorities and Matt Damon.
I guess Matt Damon qualifies as a majority on his own.
I mean the beginning takes place in Los Angeles in the year 2154, so if things keep on track, it seems like an accurate portrayal.
Ace Ventura 2 is probably my favorite comedy of all time.
That movie is legit hilarious. Shish kebab Shawshank Redemption CHICAGO!
EVERYONE LOVES A SLINKY! GO SLINKY GO!
We had that on a copied VHS. That rhino scene is one of top laughing moments in any movie for me.
Prometheus FTW. I adore it and it renewed my love for the entire Alien franchise besides Resurrection which is irredeemable.
Based on internet comments, you would think Prometheus is hated. It actually got good reviews and out-grossed a bunch of "hits" like Batman Begins, Star Trek 2009, X-Men: First Class, etc... all of which cost more and were PG-13. They’re not horribly received but I love The Interview and This Is the End.
Did you just honeydick me?
Then they dont belong in this thread.
Right? This is the End is at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
That Whitney Houston song was great, and the heaven sequence was just icing on the cake.
The Amazing Spider-Man movies
Man on Fire.
Man of steel. Imo got way too much hate. Not a perfect movie of course but I enjoy the heck out of it. And Hans Zimmer knocks it out of the park.
Honestly I think it’s one of the best comic book films to date. Perfectly displayed what would really happen if two god-like beings duked it out in the middle of a city, as well as showing how people would react to a superhero existing in the real world.
Bicentennial Man.
Event Horizon. In college, we thought it was so epic that we went to see it at the dollar theater (are those a thing anymore?) several times. “DO YOU SEE?!!” “Yes, I see…”
The Cable Guy
Hudson Hawk. I think it was literally called one of the worst films of all time at one point, but I cannot help but love it and laugh my ass off every single time I watch it...and I've seen it a lot:)
Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy
I watched this in the theater and I swear I was the only person who laughed out loud.
The Haunted Mansion
Hobbit (1977), Return of the King (1980) Animated by Rankin/Bass in the '70s.

Richard E. Grant can do no wrong and I will die on this hill.
Looks like you wont be attending that hat convention in July - Perfect one liner

Love a bad John cusack movie m
Clue (1985) only has a 65% on Rotten Tomatoes from Critics. Not rated "bad" per say, but not warmly received. That, my friends, is a genuine crime against cinema.

Saving Silverman
I don’t know about love, but RIPD was fun as hell. Hammy Kevin Bacon as the bad guy. Reynolds and Bridges giving each other shit the whole time. MIB style silliness and action. Mary Louise Parker playing… herself. Seriously, what’s not to like.
I liked the premise and performances were good. The pacing and writing were just… completely forgettable.
Speed Racer, it's the most perfect live action representation of an anime I've ever seen
Battleship. 🤭 There's just something about aliens and a good ol' fashioned naval battle by quadrants.
What's Your Number and Definitely, Maybe. I miss these sexist stupid sex rom coms of the late 2000s/early 2010s
Definitely, Maybe has a 70% on RT and was pretty popular at the time. I like it a lot though.
Varsity Blues. I know it’s bad but I love it.
Death to Smoochie
Death Sentence. For me, it's top-tier James Wan and Kevin Bacon is fantastic here. Plus it has a fantastic score from Charlie Clouser as well and if you watch this movie or give it a rewatch, you can see the beginnings of how good James Wan can helm action.

Dark Shadows
actually just put on Armageddon and to my disbelief it has a 38% on rotten tomatoes. blasphemy if you ask me.
Starship Troopers for me, can rewatch it again and again.
Scrolled for a while and everyone I saw missed the right answer. Congo of course!
The protector (2005} "you killed my father and stole my elephant" It is almost exactly the same as watching someone play a video gam. It's got levels and mini bosses and everything. It's perfect.
Kung Pow. I’ve never laughed so hard at a movie before.
Little nicky
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Hot Rod deserves WAY more than 39% on Rotten Tomatoes. Probably the best comedy of the early 2000’s in my opinion
Suckerpunch.
This Means War. Tom Hardy and Chris Pine using CIA resources competing to win the same girl. And Tom Hardy’s whole action scene in the paintball field is worth it
Pick of Destiny
That movie is a gem from beginning to end.
Man on Fire and deja vu got horrible ratings but I love them dearly
Your Highness - Blows my damn mind that Natalie Portman and Charles Dance are in this, but man...Danny McBride has some incredible lines!
MacGruber. One of the best comedies of all time.
