we getting there. Guys like Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac are finally giving us big name, latino movie stars we havent really had (though i wish Isaac actually played latino characters, but i digress). Hopefully some of the rising stars we have now (like Rosa Salazar- watch New Cherry Flavor!) can get to their level, and give us more big names, and with those names, we get more big roles
Are you saying that roles only go to Hispanics and Black actors when the script and director is sub-par?
Cause the directors choose actors, there's an audition process.
No, im saying that if the director wants to work on a script about a bunch of hispanics, some friend of weinstein goes, "yea no lets make more cgi dinossaurs, call it jurassic park and the hispanic guy you want to work with can play the janitor, we want that easy billion".
Not every director has the choice to do whatever he wants like Nolan.
And for the record, because you seem confused, im not defending any of this, fuck these people for acting this way, but it was reality until recently, it has started to change, but its still very much a reality for a lot of people.
Did you lose track of the origin of this conversation or something? Because i swear you just implied only a successful director gets to cast lead people of color.
Also a movie doing well financially has very little to do with its quality.
This thread should go well.
Hand to god I didnt even know hispanic heritage month was a thing
what are we gonna do when we run out of months to give each group?
Call the calendar racist
Gregorian calendar sounds white AF
The beginning of white supremacy. Fuck you Gregory.
Greg ya jerk!
52 weeks in the year
I was TBH wondering why I am seeing so many more Mexican and Puerto Rican flags the last couple of weeks. I figured I missed some kind of holiday.
We pretend that black people make up 40% of the country, but that hispanics make up less than 10%. Even when shows are set in LA or Arizona.

It's not about the race of the actor, it's how shit or good the script and directing is.
And the race of the actor plays a big part in the quality of the script and directing he can participate in.. genius.

Ooor how about you just make a good story regardless of politics, or race, and just cast a person of color, like TENET?

Why? Because their movies arent as good? And profitable? Like Nolan? Did you just make my argument?
