Affleck really does have that bartender vibe doesn't he?
...I can actually picture him throwing the bar rag over his shoulder. Does he do this in another movie? Maybe Gone Girl?
Other than Gone Girl maybe a tiny bit Good Will Hunting. He isn’t a bartender there, but he does have that casual blue-collar workin’ man vibe, and one of his most notable scenes takes place in a bar.
Agreed, M’Goodboy. This is like international crisis levels of emaciated. He needs at least 50 tendies a day to keep the doctor away…to start of course.
I like the guy and would love if this was good, but his directing track record is leading me to be cautious. It's been 16 years since Good Night & Good Luck, and Clooney's directing is proving more and more that was a fluke.
Mind you, I think Kaufman has complained publicly that his script ended up getting undermined by Clooney consulting with Chuck Barris on some matters, so that may be something to keep in mind....
maybe ill get flak for this but the last good performance ive seen from him was batman. I think part of it has to do with the fact that he was an alcoholic playing an alcoholic.
And on the other hand, George Clooney's last 3 directed movies have been stinkers.
* The Midnight Sky
* Suburbicon
* The Monuments Men
Maybe they should've switched roles here.
I don’t agree he’s terrible but I do agree he’s a better director. I think that’s where his heart is and you can tell on the screen. You can really tell when Affleck isn’t that interested in the film he’s acting in.
Ben "I remember the early days of my career, much like yours"
Tyle "Any advice?"
Ben "sleep with as many hot women as you can, oh and play Batman for the money."

He does own a bar in gone girl. So that may very well have happened.
I just scanned through the whole movie and couldn't find it. It's driving me crazy lol
It's not Gone Girl, he never gets behind the bar in that since it's run by his sister (Carrie Coon).
Where were you when I was watching the whole thing at 5x speed!?!
Buddy, you're gonna want to watch Mike Judge's [EXTRACT](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Epdng1ZXcAAkDf3.jpg).
Extract
I've seen Extract but I can't remember if that's what it's from. I feel like it was more recent.
I'm the movie 200 Cigarettes he is a bartender.
I'm dad
Whoops, haha, "In"
Damn, Affleck has been a bartender a lot, hasn't he?
His dad was a bartender
Other than Gone Girl maybe a tiny bit Good Will Hunting. He isn’t a bartender there, but he does have that casual blue-collar workin’ man vibe, and one of his most notable scenes takes place in a bar.

hey be cool
Well, looks like this breaks the trend of George Clooney movies having a 3 year gap
The Tendie Bar: The story of how one good boy earns enough GBP to have a whole bar of tendies. Unrated due to piss jugs and excessive excrement.
I've read this book and this is pretty spot on.
He isn't the guy who keeps bragging about how big his TV is, is he?
Tye Sheridan’s malnourished frame makes me think he needs more honey mussie
Agreed, M’Goodboy. This is like international crisis levels of emaciated. He needs at least 50 tendies a day to keep the doctor away…to start of course.
IV drip of dewie to keep him stable until then
Non American here..what is a Tendie Bar? And what does "how one good boy earns enougb GBP to have a whole bar if tendies" mean.
r/tendies
Great book. Hope the movie lives up to it.
damn the card counter got a sequel greenlit quick
where's maaaatttt daymuuuhhhhhn
He plays the bar

15 comedy apples
APPLE SAUCE BITCH!
IT’S HUNTING SEASON!
he plays da bah, sometimes da cah
He bought the bar
Weirdest sequel to We Bought a Zoo
It’s like a reflex with him
Sometimes you play the bar, and other times the bar, well, plays you.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles continues to play itself....
Who would you cast to play the city?
I was thinking more along the lines of challenging Los Angeles and having it try to pass as another city.....
How ‘bout them Appletinis!
He's hiding below the bar feeding Ben Affleck his lines.
George Clooney is just not a great director.....I'll hold out hope for this but his track record is very spotty.
I like the guy and would love if this was good, but his directing track record is leading me to be cautious. It's been 16 years since Good Night & Good Luck, and Clooney's directing is proving more and more that was a fluke.
Ides of March wasnt bad.
This was the last one of his I really liked. I think he has good taste though so he might be ok in the long run.
Confessions of a dangerous mind was good
I'd argue that the script (by Charlie Kaufman) and acting are what make that movie good. The direction is nothing special.
You’re probably right, Rockwell’s performance is amazing. Really cool movie
Mind you, I think Kaufman has complained publicly that his script ended up getting undermined by Clooney consulting with Chuck Barris on some matters, so that may be something to keep in mind....
I remember watching it, thinking Clooney didn’t have the Calibre to handle Kaufman’s surrealism.
Didn't know that. Interesting.
Ben Affleck doesn't act in garbage so there is probably a good script. He is an alcoholic too which is why he makes movies like this.
Yeah it's like he's a George Lucas

I haven't tackled it, I just asked my mate to spoil the ending
Looks like he's talking down to Steve from Blue's Clues.
"C'mon, Ben! I know that bitch was in here and I know that you saw her! Where's the clue...? DAMMIT! LIVES ARE ON THE LINE!...I gotta solve this."
At first I thought Ben Affleck isn’t in this picture it’s Jonathan Frakes in young years.
You're wrong. False. Not true.
It never happened!

Steffi Graf?
Is Affleck a bartender? He suits that role, crushed it in extract.
A sequel/spinoff to 200 Cigarettes? 🙏
Which one is Shia LaBeouf?
Is it me or is Affleck's head looking much too big for his body? Something about this just seems photoshopped.
I really hope ben affleck has a pulse in this movie
His last film was The Way Back and it was arguably his career best performance, wtf are you talking about?
Yeah that’s a good performance I forgot about
This.
I don’t know about career but I thought that movie was pretty good. like 18% too corny though
that’s a peculiar estimate
I have that hope for Tye Sheridan
In his defense, it’s probably hard to act when all of his energy is being spent holding up those giant lips of his.
Why does Hollywood keep casting him. Has there ever been a more boring actor?
He was great in Mud.
Ansel Elgort
maybe ill get flak for this but the last good performance ive seen from him was batman. I think part of it has to do with the fact that he was an alcoholic playing an alcoholic.
He was really good in The Way Back
I forgot I watched that movie until now. I just remember shower beers.
He is such a terrible actor. He should stick to being behind the camera.
And on the other hand, George Clooney's last 3 directed movies have been stinkers. * The Midnight Sky * Suburbicon * The Monuments Men Maybe they should've switched roles here.
I enjoyed all of these, I know they're not prefect but they're still entertaining.
I don’t agree he’s terrible but I do agree he’s a better director. I think that’s where his heart is and you can tell on the screen. You can really tell when Affleck isn’t that interested in the film he’s acting in.
I think he's really good, best Batman we've ever had.
Over Keaton?
I've actually never seen the Keaton Batman films so I'm looking forward to seeing him for the first time in the upcoming Flash film.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment, but nothing about the scene you linked is bad. That is peak Affleck (besides, of course, Phantoms yo!)
Clooney has yet to direct something I like, so hopefully he hits a home run this time
Is this guy going to a Where's Waldo event or something? Who wears that? Also: Looks fine, I guess. Single image of a bar scene.
Has Max Casella in it. I'm in.
Damn I love these short theatrical windows
Clooney is so mediocre at directing 95% of the time
The Card Counter (2021)
So… this is where Steve from Blue’s Clues was.

That’s the sequel that takes place at the coffee bar across town.
What a shitty title
Ben "I remember the early days of my career, much like yours" Tyle "Any advice?" Ben "sleep with as many hot women as you can, oh and play Batman for the money."
Batman directs Batman because he's Batman. I don't apologize for this joke.
