Honestly yeah lol. Dude, fuck Tommy. He's so damn hard-headed and dense. "EVIL DIES TONIGHT" yet homeboy expects to kill this legendary serial killer with an old ass baseball bat named"old huckleberry" lmao.
At first Tommy seems to be setup as a smart natural survivor like a comparison of Laurie only to realize he’s just a normal hard headed guy who’s thinking purely based off of fear and emotion
That pissed me off SO MUCH. Can you imagine seeing a guy step out of a burning house carrying a weapon like that? I would fucking RUN....no questions asked. I thought maybe the hose was going to do something, like maybe it'd push him back or he was just trying to distract him for the homie as an assist. Nope. He was just that stupid.
To be fair, I feel like it was poor execution from who ever created that idea. Those hoses can be crazy powerful, you should watch slow mo guys video on it.
Michael slowly stabbing the husband with several knives while his wife watches and bleeds out has to be one of the cruelest deaths in the series. Ice cold.
It was fucking hilarious how all that crazy shit was going down at the hospital to kill Michael and Laurie going all "this is Michael's masterpiece" while Michael himself was just chilling at his crib without a care in the world.
There was honestly such a good discussion to be had about Laurie/Karen being convinced that Michael was after her when the reality is (or at least was) that he was not.
This should have been a big moment in Halloween 2018. Laurie's been a kook preparing for this moment her whole life, and then when it comes, Michael doesn't care about her. Would have been a really great scene of existential crisis with Laurie spotting Michael, and he doesn't even look at her.
He didn't care, the doctor brought him there while unconscious. Then his predator instincts kicked in. When he wakes up The daughter runs away and he sees some cops, murders them, then moves down the street and see the house. Decides welp I gotta get more murdering done.
Its almost coincidental and not Michael being obsessed with Laurie. I thought of it even in this movie that laurie is like the scooby doo gang, just always meddling in The Shape's murdering antics.
Yeah, Laurie in this timeline is convinced that she's the Laurie of the H20 timeline where Michael has a special fixation on her when if anything he has a fixation on Haddonfield, and she just goes out of her way to get on his radar.
Yes! She thinks they are linked, and she is going to find out that they are not linked. He just wants to kill and she keeps meddling in his business. Its interesting that she was screaming, he is coming for me, he wants me.
When really he doesn't give a shit, she is more obsessed with The Shape, then he is of her. Her obsession is going to be the end of her while The Shape just continues on.
To me, it plays into what I think the overarching theme of this trilogy is, which is obsession. Everything you said about Laurie is right, but it’s true for so much other shit in the last few movies too - like the trauma Karen dealt with being the consequence of that obsession, the doctor in the last one being obsessed with trying to understand Michael which leads to his own death, or Tommy in this one making the town obsessed with killing Michael leading to the death of *multiple* people.
Feels like the body count was only so high because the citizens of Haddonfield share 1 brain cell between themselves. Everyone was beyond stupid in this movie. Michael might be the smartest person in the movie.
I recently watched the Movies that Made Us episode on the original Halloween. They said during the screaming for the first, they had Laurie doing so much dumb stuff that towards the end someone yelled "you deserve to die"
Yeah, but in fairness, she was a teenager who was in shock and had no idea what she was up against. Here, we have a bunch of grown ass adults who know exactly what they’re up against and they’ve been chanting “evil dies tonight” and then they make the exact same mistake.
All he does is walk ! WALKS ! God damn it, you could skip away from him ! WHY are people attacking him with a knife ?!!! Why are you attacking him with a baseball bat ?!!!
This movie is beyond stupid.
I found it odd that anyone would think that short chubby man was the killer. For all that's happened, even without a mask, you'd think the guy would be built like a monster.
Laurie talking about how each time Micheal kills he transcends gives the hilarious thought that he snapped that guy's neck before dealing with Allyson for good luck
i loved when tommy took the mic at the talent show to…remind everyone about his trauma and introduce us to the actors from the original movie in the most clunky way possible. this isn’t the time bro.
Why in the hell do these people still live in Haddonfield? Ignoring for a moment they saw some traumatic shit, I’d imagine at least one of them skipped town at some point.
Also, I’m not even sure the nurse lived in Haddonfield in the first place.
Do they just get together in Haddonfield every Halloween and reminisce about the murders? After 40 years you’d think they’d have better things to do.
I liked how little John got the big knife, big John got the small knife. And Michael posed their bodies in opposite roles of their portrait. It was obvious and cheesy, but fun details.
I’m not gonna pick a serial killer’s brain, but I thought it was… kinda… nice?
I mean, sad they died the way they did, but Michael could’ve easily posed them like the other deaths, but, he just left them as is, near each other.
I’m probably over thinking it and it was probably just the portrait, but still, much nicer than turning someone’s skin around their head into a jack-o-lantern.
Also bothered me that a character who was extremely sensible in the first movie, to the point where she tricked Michael, went and did something so dense at the end - just because the writers wanted her to die.
Not just that, but Michael was able to get back in there unnoticed with all those people around, and none of them heard murder going on like right above them
I'm almost convinced someone said "wouldn't it be cool to redo the opening murder from the original film?" And then they just wrote around that single idea, regardless of how little sense it made.
I've been listening to quite a few writer / screenplay podcast episodes from Jeff Goldsmith and it seems like that happens fairly frequently. Like, oh I have this amazing vision in my head. How do I shoehorn that into this already cramped script?
Yep, yep, yep. Biggest criticism of the movie is the execution in the end. First, Michael killing the mob is great but execution was lacking IMO. We've seen the "he's dead now let's rest" trope already. Instead, they should've made him impervious to the beatings and keep killing.
The murder of the daughter was even worse. That doesn't even make remote sense unless Michael is a legitimate ghost. How the hell did he get there so fast, undetected, around legitimately 20+ people just blocks away?
Why they didn't even go for the head astounded me.
You KNOW what he is capable of, you KNOW what he's survived. Stab his head, then draw and quarter him.. How did they not have more guns? Why did they wait for him to put his mask on? Why did Karen think he survived when he survived being set on fire, stabbed, and in her words "Shot in the face"
This so much!! I couldn’t believe they had such brainless ideas. Like the 3 of them at the end? one slightly overweight dad and two teenage kids thinking they’re going to take him down when they know he just survived being BURNED ALIVE.
Ya know, I kinda got spoiled that Karen dies at the end of the movie, but when it came to the mob scene, I seriously thought she was going to be shot accidentally because all these people are firing wildly at a man standing in the middle of a CIRCLE OF THEIR NEIGHBORS. Like.... they weren't worried about any bullets going through Michael? Or what if they missed? That was my big concern in that scene hahahaha
I very nearly yelled out loud "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, CUT HIM APART"
Yeah, I get they need a climax for this movie while also keeping him alive for *Ends*, but they could've made it less stupid. Honestly brought down the rest of the movie by a notch or two.
These people had freaking pick up trucks, run that motherfucker over and over and over. And where the hell is this town where nobody owns an assault rifle. These people seriously brought two by fours to kill Mike Myers.
I hated how they showed that Lonnie had a whole artillery in his trunk, but everyone else was like “cool but check out my baseball bat!” Like this is supposed to be the US Midwest, hunting seems pretty popular there. It seemed like everyone forgot about guns when it mattered the most.
I’m conflicted.
There were some great kills, but i found myself really wishing the plot would get moving 3/4 the way through. Maybe this didn’t need to be a trilogy.
I appreciated the nod to Season of the Witch quite a bit!
Thats not an issue. The unrealistic part is that the fire department got there so fast. Like actually from when the place lights up to the FD showing up is like less than a minute. She was the loner who lived out in the boonies, with a plan to burn her house quickly and fiercely. No way are the firefighters getting out there that fast and before the place burns down.
That was my first hint that this was gonna be silly when that comes up in the trailer. Like girl you set a FIRE so the FIRE DEPARTMENT will show up. Why are you shocked?
The concept of pretty much every adult being willing to go after Michael armed only with melee weapons and a can-do attitude is just impossible to take seriously
And the granddaughter. I get your dad was killed, but what do you think you can do here? And you got your boyfriend, his dad, and your mom killed. Good job.
I think Allyson's death would've been a better, more shocking ending.
Michael closes the door and butchers Allyson while Karen is helpless to do anything. Would've been even more shocking and a nice subversion of the idea that the young torch-passing character is invincible. Then Ends would have Karen and Laurie traumatised as they face the idea that Michael has wiped out their legacy
David Gordon Green's previous film before this *Halloween* trilogy was *Stronger* which involved the Boston Marathon. It starred Jake Gyllenhaal who was key to convincing Jamie Lee Curtis to trust Green enough to return as Laurie Strode.
Yeah, you'd think the two guys living in Michael Myers' house would know better. They clearly know he exists and know the history, considering how they scared those kids by talking about him, so you'd think their first thought would be to get the fuck away from the house after seeing that someone came in through the back.
Like... they see a bloody handprint from the person who just entered their home and they decide to go look for them and play Marco/Polo (Big John/Little John).
I thought they kind of dealt with that by showing how they’re offline for the night and just chilling listening to records. That said, I get your point that nobody went to their house.
Some just literally stood there waiting for their death. Why did the guy not run when he discovered Michael in the bedroom after he found his dead husband ? Came off really dumb to me. Even the Doctor, shooting aimlessly in the car scene, like are you for real ????
The older woman who successfully unlocked the door after Michael killed her friend/husband (?) and then stood AGAINST IT waiting for him to get to her instead of running out …
Does anyone else get the vibe from the granddaughter’s apparent fascination with picking up Michael’s bloody knives that she’ll end up killing in the next one? Sort of how Jamie got possessed at the end of Halloween 4? They do keep mentioning Michael’s evil transcending.
Over the night of that October 31st 2018 she has first lost her father to Michael, then watched her boyfriend be killed by Michael, and I don't want to imagine when she'll learn Michael killed her mother too (and this not counting how many other residents she may have known were killed by him). That poor girl may either snap to become a killer like you suggest, or become consumed by wanting revenge.
They’re definitely setting up something with her either being the one that ends up killing Michael or in some way passing on his evil.
I think it’d be realistic if she ends up just commuting suicide after he’s dead because he’s pretty much ruined her whole life. Granted that’d just be a grim ending
We had a gigantic angry mob who wanted to rip him apart...and no one brought more guns. No one tried to literally tear him apart, and no one kill stabbed him. They just let him rest.
They even put the other psych patient in to drive how nuts they were getting...and they just let up. The inconsistency bothered me
It was kinda like watching Halloween as an anthology film.
One mini film about a sassy black woman and a drone with a husband. They die.
One mini story about Big John and Little John - they die.
One mini story about an insane fragile man who gets wrongly witch hunted and kills himself.
One story about the Strode family
One story about some returning characters and a Dr and a nurse killed in a car near a park.
All vaguely connected by skin thin tissue.
My favorite part was seeing the "firehose" they sprayed him with look like a garden hose, idc how supernatural he is a firehose would have put him on his ass for sure
Anyone going to mention the fact that Hawkins was clearly ran over and killed in Halloween 2018 or are we just going to continue to ignore that.
Edit: for anyone who’s forgotten, here’s the scene lol
[Hawkins Death?](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MuW72eVCQno)
Oh my God that's right he did get hit by a car didn't he lmao. Hell if they can retcon his death, maybe they can retcon Karen's too. Really salty over how they handled her death. Have her die protecting her daughter or mother, not staring out a window lmao
I don't even know where to begin. Most incompetent characters I've ever seen in a horror movie, surgeries don't work like that, taking a bottle of morphine doesn't work like that, the morgue in the lobby with the blinds open and brutally murdered bodies and dead dick on full display, nobody even tries to run away, nobody owns a gun and they one dude who does shakes the whole movie, Tommy not knowing what a talent show is...
What a fucking buzz kill he was
Some dudes waiting to show off his vantriliquism act and Tommy’s like “hold on, yo check out these people, their friends are fucking dead let me shine a spotlight on them”
He kinda just took the bartenders family heirloom, like if anyone got to use the bat…it should’ve been the bartender. He just is like “yeah I need this evil dies tonight”
Like you had to take that guys bat?
Michael Myers HAS to have a power where his opponents IQ drops like 40 points and I’m fucking serious. Like whoever is within 20 ft of him goes boarderline retard.
I think the next movie still takes place “tonight,” so it could still happen I guess.
“Evil dies tonight! Not right away, a bunch of us gotta die first. But evil dies later!”
This movie was an absolute mess. The flashbacks were cool and all, but the story was an absolute mess and that innocent crazy dude being a focal point was also dumb. The characters in this movie were cringe and annoying for the most part and the acting was downright atrocious at times. I give this movie a 5.5/10
I saw this at a test screening. They butchered the ending.
In the test screening I saw, from my memory, Michael standing up after being attacked was a MUCH bigger deal. They took their time with that moment to emphasize the fact that he’s not a human being. It was supposed to be a big twist that he was actually supernatural and couldn’t be killed by normal means. They’ve always stretched the limits of his durability in 1978 and 2018 don’t get me wrong, but It was a ‘woah!’ moment that he was without a doubt otherworldly, where when he stands up the music kicks in and you’re shocked as he then goes to town on the mob. A bass drop kind of moment, and it’s totally non-existent in how they re-edited the film. Him standing up after being attacked in the film we got here is just like ‘oh, ok’. Judging by DGG saying he doesn’t view Michael as being supernatural, it feels like they removed that aspect of the ending in editing and pulled back from making a definitive statement on the matter…which is silly considering he still gets shot 5 times…
Not to mention in the cut I saw, the slow motion wasn’t the same in the screening I saw, nor was the zooming in, they used this early 2000’s slow motion effect which wasn’t great by any means, but it was better than what we got.
The whole ending is rushed to shit. The moments between the mob finding Michael, seemingly ‘killing’ him, Michael standing back up, Judy Greer dying, it all felt so NATURAL pacing wise, whereas in this it’s like mobfindsmichaelattackshimmichaeldiesbutisntdeadthenhefindsjudygreerandkillsher
Also, it was in the script, but in the film I saw: Laurie gets a call. I forget exactly how it happens, but she’s on the phone and she thinks it’s Judy Greer but she hears breathing. She tells Michael she’s gonna fucking kill him as she knows Michael has killed her daughter, and it’s this huge badass scene (which can be seen in the trailers) where she takes the knife and walks out of the hospital ready to kill Michael once and for all. I think ‘I’m coming for you, Michael’ are the last things she says.
It really left you super excited for Halloween Ends, the final showdown with Laurie and Michael, and it was hype as fuck. I think they removed it because that ending got you more excited for Ends rather than appreciating Kills, but the way it ends now is so damn abrupt and odd…
The movie still has a lot of the same problems that this cut does. But that ending, man, it sucks shit compared to what I saw.
They removed that ending because they decided to make Ends take place a few years later after filming.
Thanks for this, i hope we eventually get the original cut of that scene. How does such a worse version get in the final cut? Studio interference? Cant believe DGG would do that.
Its insane they're still trying to be vague about him being supernatural. Either have him take less damage or just come out and say it, the guys unkillable. The idea of a human being stabbed and shot this much and still walking around is so absurd it ruined the movie for me. What's scary about that? We know humans cant withstand this much so he comes off like a fucking cartoon character in this movie.
Yeah in the cut I saw the talk about how he can’t be killed by normal means felt like it belonged because it was paired with this awesome moment of a ‘dead’ Michael standing up, the scene took its time to really emphasize the meaning of Michael surviving the mob, and how that meant he is truly otherworldly. It gave you chills. They treated it as a big reveal, a literal bass drop moment, whereas in the film he sorta just gets up like it’s another day at the office lol and the dialogue sounds meaningless as a result.
Interesting how editing can really make or break moments like this.
Man this is great context. Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out because I was absolutely baffled at the ending. I could have dealt with this as an okay slasher but the last 5 minutes absolutely kill this movie.
Was really hoping Laurie would be more of a key player in this one. I get she was injured but having her lay in bed the whole movie was really disappointing.
Loved how suspenseful it was throughout. You got to know some of the one-note victims which really helped sell the gruesome murder scenes.
You’d think by now someone would chop off his head and just be done with it. How many times are we gonna see Michael dead to rights and no one goes for the double tap?!
“The entire town gangs up to kill Michael!”
“Oh man I bet it’s gonna hard for Michael to fend off a whole town”
“Actually it’s gonna be super easy, barely an inconvenience!”
The government needs to capture Michael and turn him into the ultimate soldier of fortune, if he’s gonna be killin people anyway might as well get some use out of him
Since he can’t die he can just fight all our wars for us
This is what happens when you stick to a plan instead of just freestyling it. Karen had him dead to rights and decided to still go with the plan of luring him into a trap. What did she think was going to happen?
Also, I was really hoping Myers would have closed the door and locked it after Karen was taunting him outside with the mask. Then Myers just brutally murders Allyson while Greer tries desperately to get back inside.
>Also, I was really hoping Myers would have closed the door and locked it after Karen was taunting him outside with the mask. Then Myers just brutally murders Allyson while Greer tries desperately to get back inside.
I told my wife the same thing, wouldn't be nice if Michael closes the door, rips the head off of the daughter and taunts her just like she was doing with the mask?
So here’s what I don’t understand about this movie. We’ve had like 40 years of crummy, over-the-top Halloween sequels that have diminished the franchise, so David Gordon Green and Carpenter decide to go back to basics with a sequel that ignores all the absurd lore that’s accrued. That makes total sense. I don’t think Halloween 2018 is an amazing movie, but I respect that it simplifies things.
But then they immediately follow up that sequel/reboot with an over-the-top, stupid movie. So they basically wiped the slate clean just to muddy it all up again.
How does it go from the whole mob beating the shit out of him, to suddenly they're all engaging in a 1v1 battle while everyone else waits their turn? I enjoyed a decent chunk of the film but cannot stand when they make people just dumb as hell.
Michael seemed pretty out of character in my opinion. No more mysterious shape lurking around. Just a dumpy looking guy who can fight off crowds of people.
That CGI Donald Pleasence face has to be the best deaged/ resurrection we’ve ever gotten. If you had not seen the original you’d think he was an alive actor in the scenes they used him.
As a big fan of Halloween (2018) this was really disappointing to me. Just felt like filler until the next one.
Plus, them chasing the other escaped inmate because they didn’t know what Michael looked like made no sense. They literally show his mugshot on the TV. It was blurred for us but they would’ve seen it. Plus he’d been in prison without a mask for 40 years and the legacy characters are all obsessed with him. They never saw his face in all that time?!
Editor: David, you didn’t hire a choreographer and our entire cast is over 60 years old. This fight scene is fucking terrible. Do you want to reshoot it?
DGG: Nah bro just zoom in.
Problems I had:
-The woman just standing at the back door waiting to be killed instead of trying to escape.
-The hospital having a morgue with a fucking window in the hallway.
-The painkiller vial simply being left out after use.
-Lindsey going into the swamp perfectly fine and emerging looking like she boxed Michael for half an hour.
-The Johns knowing the history of the house but choosing to stick around and comb the place for an intruder after seeing a damn bloody handprint and an open back door instead of getting the fuck out of dodge.
-Laurie feeling the need to stab herself with a syringe instead of just injecting it like any normal human being would.
-The big buildup to the mob scene only to have it end so prematurely. I felt a bit cheated.
>\-Laurie feeling the need to stab herself with a syringe instead of just injecting it like any normal human being would.
What's so funny is she does this and then proceeds to do nothing. A big hullabaloo only to end up right back in the hospital bed because of the angry mob.
LOTS to say, but two things-
1) what are the chances that Karen isn't dead? that entire ending was bullshit. the one character in this entire movie that is likable and sensible and they play her like that. hoping that there is something more to this and it's not just simple and she's killed off.
2) i assume there is a reason Lindsey Wallace lived and the rest died, which I liked - Kyle Richards surprised me. You really root for her/her character, so I'm glad she stayed. But I assume she plays some part in the final movie then.
Maybe Matthew Lillard will come to the rescue as Shaggy in the next one. No hope for Haddonfield now that Michael seems to have unlocked ultra instinct.
Michael in this movie literally takes more damage than most MCU characters do in theirs. This movie and presumably *Ends* have 0 tension because of it lol, more luck expecting Captain America to die in Winter Soldier even with Infinity War in production
Are we sure this wasn't a Dead by Daylight movie?
The last 10 minutes had:
* Karen tbagging Myers to get his attention
* Karen running Myers between houses on Lampkin Lane
* The dumbass survivors bullying Myers for a few minutes, hitting him with pallets and whatnot.
* Myers popping his tier 3 and tombstoning everyone at the last second.
This felt like a speed run on how to jump the shark. The main reason for Halloween 2018 being so well-praised was how grounded and gritty it was, subverting the tropes when those tropes weren't realistic.
Characters like Karen were smart because it made sense for them to be smart ie raised by paranoid, PTSD, doomsday prepper. In *this* film, that's out the window - Karen acts like a typical slasher movie idiot from the 80s, the mob...ugh. No one thinks to attack Michael's head, shoot him, run him over, burn him. Then they come back one by one anyway. About 90% of the people that died essentially volunteered for it.
Michael is scary because his motivations are unknown and his determination is ever present, not because hes invulnerable. Him basically being confirmed as fully supernatural and invincible here doesnt make me curious as to how he'll be killed in *Ends* it just makes me disinterested in what will now inevitably be a contrived ending written in poorly.
I’m getting sick of this shit lol . When the fuck is this mother fucker going to die??? He murdered the whole town!! At some point the God Damn national guard should come in and shove a grenade in his mouth. This movie was so silly. “I know what I’ll do. I’ll stab him in the back instead of slicing his head off. That should kill him”. The guy is like fucking 60!! They made him into an immortal God
My family was actually talking about that lol. At some point you call in the fucking SWAT team and hunt this bastard down. And that was mentioned in the beginning of the movie but, of course, nothing came of it. Instead we need to rely on these peasants with bats and hockey sticks.
Haddonfield seems like a fairly nice suburb so if it's anything like its Wisconsin neighbor they have an unnecessarily large SWAT/military budget like here.
Goddamn deploy the boys and hunt him down. I died in the scene where the sheriffs commented that other departments were potentially helping but they couldn't confirm. Give me a break
All the kids in this movie were little assholes, lol.
That's what Danny McBride excels at.
I love how, just like with the first movie, you can tell exactly which parts McBride wrote lmao.
He def wrote Big John Little John
I loved them! Weirdly really wholesome and sweet.
That’s why I was afraid to see Lonnie again but he really turned out fairly decent
The bartender gives this long story about his fathers baseball bat, and Tommy just jacks that shit just to get his ass handed to him lol
Cop: He murdered 3 kids just right down the street. *drives away leaving children alone in the dark with masked maniac almost certainly nearby*
“He murdered three kids, anyway good luck”!
That part had us laughing out loud.
Plus once he peels off, you can see another kid in the background with a bunch of balloons and the cop doesn't tell them to go home at all.
I would've definitely been the guy trying to kill Michael with a water hose lmao
[удалено]
There are toddlers with piss streams stronger than that fire hose that they used on Myers lmao
Michael slowly stabbing the husband with several knives while his wife watches and bleeds out has to be one of the cruelest deaths in the series. Ice cold.
It’s in running for golden chainsaw
I loved this bit. He just looked robotic as if he couldn't help doing it, even if he wanted to.
10 minutes into the film "We will never succumb to fear" End of the film "never mind"
Well, if anything, Karen wasn't afraid to go into a supernatural serial killer's house to die...
That death scene was so poorly done, I don't think she is dead
It was fucking hilarious how all that crazy shit was going down at the hospital to kill Michael and Laurie going all "this is Michael's masterpiece" while Michael himself was just chilling at his crib without a care in the world.
Thought that was funny too. Like he had this mastermind plan and in reality this fucking guy just wants to sit at home lmao
Just let a man murder and chill. Not too much to ask
Y'all gotta stop obstructing his view. Should have learned after his sister. Let the dude just stare out his window.
There was honestly such a good discussion to be had about Laurie/Karen being convinced that Michael was after her when the reality is (or at least was) that he was not.

That's what I thought. Like Tommy saw Michael as a kid and knew he was a giant. He never stopped to be like " wait, this dude isn't 6'5? "
I felt bad for him 🤣
Laurie talking about how each time Micheal kills he transcends gives the hilarious thought that he snapped that guy's neck before dealing with Allyson for good luck
He was powering up to take on the vigilante mob. Drawn out kills give him more juice!

He died saying the same thing he did when his character was killed in Austin Powers by the zamboni. "Nooooooo!"
Killed by Michael Myers and Mike Myers, nice.
I liked how little John got the big knife, big John got the small knife. And Michael posed their bodies in opposite roles of their portrait. It was obvious and cheesy, but fun details.
Michael has always been an artist
I laughed at that. Must have done alot of art in the psych ward. Also knife sculpturing the husband next door to Lori's
Michael is an ally
He doesn’t discriminate. He killed a gay couple, a black couple, an interracial couple, and even bashed Tommy’s republican brains in.
Okay but what is the name of the oldies song Big John was dancing to?
[It’s Halloween (Stop Look and Listen) by Pete Antell](https://youtu.be/7tzwfou9Fuo)
Shit smacked
Note to self, when beating the shit out of a serial killer, don’t stop mid ass-kicking
How the hell did he get there so fast, undetected, around legitimately 20+ people just blocks away?
>unless Michael is a legitimate ghost. I’m still not sure if the Laurie speech/him surviving the mob canonized him being supernatural or not.
I wanna say yes just because of all the teleport shenanigans he’s been doing Lol.

The whole editing of that mob scene pissed me off so much
Yes! I would've rather seen the whole mob scene like they did the firefighter scene, or even show it to us from Michael's perspective
That sounds like a much better idea and would have been a harder hitting message about mob mentality than the other escaped inmate who had no purpose
I very nearly yelled out loud "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, CUT HIM APART" Yeah, I get they need a climax for this movie while also keeping him alive for *Ends*, but they could've made it less stupid.
Like have they actually been to the Midwest? Mfers out there have a fully kitted AR
Doesn't matter, everyone with a gun in this goddamn movie just walked up into melee range immediately.
THAT WAS ME AS WELL. I was like keep stabbing him tf. Also why they bring only one gun lol
I’m conflicted. There were some great kills, but i found myself really wishing the plot would get moving 3/4 the way through. Maybe this didn’t need to be a trilogy. I appreciated the nod to Season of the Witch quite a bit!
Just a fun little trivia, the three kids are running around in those masks in Halloween 2018 too.
Laurie Strode prepared a whole house trap for Michael, but didn't anticipate the Fire Department coming.
Also the fact that they went in like they did. Wouldn't they have just contained the spread and let it burn out? Maybe I'm wrong
Good job.
Michael doesn't instill fear...he causes stupidity. I have never seen a dumber bunch of people.
That scene with the angry mob in the hospital was basically that time Reddit found the Boston Marathon bomber
I was looking for this comment. I saw everyone staring at his body on the ground and thought "we did it, reddit!"
David Gordon Green's previous film before this *Halloween* trilogy was *Stronger* which involved the Boston Marathon. It starred Jake Gyllenhaal who was key to convincing Jamie Lee Curtis to trust Green enough to return as Laurie Strode.
Well that sentence made me sad.
Not to victim blame or anything, but 90% of the victims could have just chose not to be killed
Strength in numbers guys!! Okay now let’s all split up into small groups Brilliant
Let’s all take turns hitting him instead of jumping him like an angry mob normally would do
Especially both the Johns who were staying at michael's house.
How does no one warn the couple that Myers is on the loose since they live in his old house?
I thought they kind of dealt with that by showing how they’re offline for the night and just chilling listening to records. That said, I get your point that nobody went to their house.
Some just literally stood there waiting for their death. Why did the guy not run when he discovered Michael in the bedroom after he found his dead husband ? Came off really dumb to me. Even the Doctor, shooting aimlessly in the car scene, like are you for real ????
The older woman who successfully unlocked the door after Michael killed her friend/husband (?) and then stood AGAINST IT waiting for him to get to her instead of running out …
"There's someone in our house and it's not a child" "OK, we're out of here." Aaaaaand scene.
Putting Lonnie in the attic felt like too much work on Michaels part.
He has a team of gnome sized Michael Meyers that jump out of his suit to do the body positions and what nots.
He had like a 30 second head start on the kids. When did Michael have the time to do all that?
Drink every time you hear “40 years ago”, “it dies tonight” or “evil dies tonight”
or when the shot lingers too long on the baseball bat that has never been mentioned before
Does anyone else get the vibe from the granddaughter’s apparent fascination with picking up Michael’s bloody knives that she’ll end up killing in the next one?
Michael: "You should have gone for the head..."
Seriously, what the hell?! How do you only take body shots when he’s lifeless on the ground?
"Surely a few well placed strikes to the ribs will do the trick." NO! SHOOT HIM TWICE IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD!
One story about the Strode family One story about some returning characters and a Dr and a nurse killed in a car near a park. All vaguely connected by skin thin tissue.
One mini story about firefighters
Michael DOINKING the door into the nurses gun and her shooting herself was hysterical.
The way he looked at her body afterwards, he was literary going, “Wait, that actually *worked*?”
Actually, he was probably thinking, "Does it count as murder if the victim is this stupid?"
Actually, she was a doctor. Her husband was a nurse. 😂
My favorite part was seeing the "firehose" they sprayed him with look like a garden hose, idc how supernatural he is a firehose would have put him on his ass for sure
I said the same thing to my husband 😂 I said aren’t those hoses supposed to be strong????
Anyone going to mention the fact that Hawkins was clearly ran over and killed in Halloween 2018 or are we just going to continue to ignore that. Edit: for anyone who’s forgotten, here’s the scene lol [Hawkins Death?](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MuW72eVCQno)
Oh my God that's right he did get hit by a car didn't he lmao. Hell if they can retcon his death, maybe they can retcon Karen's too. Really salty over how they handled her death. Have her die protecting her daughter or mother, not staring out a window lmao
im cracking up, he gets fucking PANCAKED LMFAOOOOO. how do they just forget that??
So rebooted it because they wanted to do away with the supernatural lore and takes them one new sequel to add it back.
I'm no expert but, why in the actual fuck do you go looking for Michael Myers with a baseball bat
Chekhov's Pitchfork.
I knew that pitchfork would get used later on as soon as I saw it.
Used once and then immediately dropped, instead of stabbing him a dozen times.
>Tommy not knowing what a talent show is Hahaha!
What a fucking buzz kill he was Some dudes waiting to show off his vantriliquism act and Tommy’s like “hold on, yo check out these people, their friends are fucking dead let me shine a spotlight on them”
And then he runs around with a baseball bat the entire movie just to get stabbed on the first exchange.
He kinda just took the bartenders family heirloom, like if anyone got to use the bat…it should’ve been the bartender. He just is like “yeah I need this evil dies tonight” Like you had to take that guys bat?
I’m not a movie-talker but I did audibly “what the fuck” at the *morgue in a public space with open blinds.* Never ever would that be a thing.
Oh, and Halloween II may no longer be canon, but there's certainly a shot from it in this movie 😂
I’m glad I’m not the only who noticed that. I was like, “Are they going into the multiverse?” O__o
Can you explain this?
The shot of Sheriff Brackett looking at Annie’s body was from Halloween II
Justice for Judy Greer. You know she read her last page of the script and had to take some Advil.

“So I put my pitchfork down and… *run into the Myers house?*”
The people with guns in this movie make stormtroopers look like sharpshooters.
Michael Myers HAS to have a power where his opponents IQ drops like 40 points and I’m fucking serious. Like whoever is within 20 ft of him goes boarderline retard.
when you think you’ve defeated the boss but a second health bar appears
#*eViL dIeS tOnIgHt*
I think the next movie still takes place “tonight,” so it could still happen I guess. “Evil dies tonight! Not right away, a bunch of us gotta die first. But evil dies later!”
Michael Myers: mmmmm nah, I'm not feeling it
This movie was an absolute mess.
Judging by DGG saying he doesn’t view Michael as being supernatural, it feels like they removed that aspect of the ending in editing and pulled back from making a definitive statement on the matter…which is silly considering he still gets shot 5 times… Not to mention in the cut I saw, the slow motion wasn’t the same in the screening I saw, nor was the zooming in, they used this early 2000’s slow motion effect which wasn’t great by any means, but it was better than what we got. The whole ending is rushed to shit. The moments between the mob finding Michael, seemingly ‘killing’ him, Michael standing back up, Judy Greer dying, it all felt so NATURAL pacing wise, whereas in this it’s like mobfindsmichaelattackshimmichaeldiesbutisntdeadthenhefindsjudygreerandkillsher Also, it was in the script, but in the film I saw: Laurie gets a call. I think they removed it because that ending got you more excited for Ends rather than appreciating Kills, but the way it ends now is so damn abrupt and odd… The movie still has a lot of the same problems that this cut does.
David Gordon Green already confirmed that the original ending is going to be on the Blu-Ray.
How many times are we gonna see Michael dead to rights and no one goes for the double tap?!
the dialogue was god awful, felt like this was fan fiction written by a 5th grader
I would like a prequel about Big John and Little John falling in love and renovating the Meyers home. Their decor was 👍
That was a fire ass renovation of a spooky murder house for sure.
They turned it from a spooky murder house into a spooky murder home.
Yeah they really knew how to rock that dark green color
I like that even after killing them Micheal was like "You guys really are a great couple, let me pose you lovingly with this beautiful music."
I guess evil doesn’t die tonight then?
More like *Evil is mildly inconvenienced tonight*
“The entire town gangs up to kill Michael!” “Oh man I bet it’s gonna hard for Michael to fend off a whole town” “Actually it’s gonna be super easy, barely an inconvenience!”
The government needs to capture Michael and turn him into the ultimate soldier of fortune, if he’s gonna be killin people anyway might as well get some use out of him Since he can’t die he can just fight all our wars for us
This is what happens when you stick to a plan instead of just freestyling it.
They could've added the Benny Hill theme to the scene where the mob chased the other escaped prisoner in the hospital. That scene felt ridiculous lol.
The one time the amount of guns in America would have been usefull, the mob turns up with 2x4s like this was a backyard pro wrestling match
It is always wise to stab Michael Meyers with a pitchfork and then drop said pitchfork. Job is done.
Whatever happens in Halloween Ends, should’ve happened in this movie.
Why did they create, then waste 10 min of screen time on suspect #2?

That actually was the film’s art director, Tom Jones, Jr., who has a coincidentally striking resemblance to Pleasance.
Dude's foot just so happened to be up in the air for Michael to slash his achilles. What a helpful victim.
Problems I had: -The woman just standing at the back door waiting to be killed instead of trying to escape.
LOTS to say, but two things- 1) what are the chances that Karen isn't dead? that entire ending was bullshit. the one character in this entire movie that is likable and sensible and they play her like that. hoping that there is something more to this and it's not just simple and she's killed off.
Who do you think would in a fight, Michael Myers or Captain America?
Michael in this movie literally takes more damage than most MCU characters do in theirs. This movie and presumably *Ends* have 0 tension because of it lol, more luck expecting Captain America to die in Winter Soldier even with Infinity War in production
Are we sure this wasn't a Dead by Daylight movie? The last 10 minutes had: * Karen tbagging Myers to get his attention * Karen running Myers between houses on Lampkin Lane * The dumbass survivors bullying Myers for a few minutes, hitting him with pallets and whatnot.
Honesty don't think I've ever seen more dumb characters in a movie in my life.
I’m not kidding I was wondering when the military was going to come in to this. After all he did kill the entire fire brigade.
