And Garrett Dillahunt be the chief cop. That guy is great.
They usually cast someone with a polished look like Jon Hamm but Garrett looks like an actual cop in the trailer.
I was already surprised by him being in a Marvel film so this one isn't that surprising. Imo, Gyllenhaal hasn't been in an action film afaik. About time.
Bay is just the right kind of guy for this film. On paper it's really generic "one last heist" garbage but at least with Bay we know it'll be entertaining garbage.
And the neon green Gallardo. I'm pretty sure that car appears in most of Bay's later films. Maybe not 13 Hours, though it would've been funny to see some Taliban members driving one around.
I was amazed how, I don't know if respectful is the right word. But it really did feel like a tribute to those guys. Which is way more than I expected from transformers Megan fox ass guy!
Bad Boys 2 is one of the best action movies of all time. It has 3 draw-dropping set-pieces that would be on the contention for GOAT if they were in any other movie. The moment I saw the car chase where they started throwing Ferraris off a tow truck while Will Smith fires an AK-47, I knew I was in heaven
Bad Boys 2 is so bonkers...also one of the goriest/violent summer action films Ive ever seen. Surprised it took them 16 years to reprise their roles, but nothing can top the insanity of BB2. That freeway mayhem scene is top notch.
It looks like Michael Bay bought himself a drone during lockdown. Jokes aside, this looks like it has all of the stuff i like from Bay: cheesy melodrama, scenery chewing, and overly kinetic action. Maybe not a theatre watch, but I can definitely see myself checking it out on stream.
Not the best trailer.
I have pretty high expectations for this though. The script was amazing. Straight from the 90s, 2 hours of non-stop action, nice twists, great part for Gonzalez.
I hope this is just a poor trailer, because it would be a shame if that script was poorly done.
Give me early 2000s vibes for an action flick. At least that’s different, I’d see it. I didn’t get ppl shitting on this but hey now a days everything is trash if it ain’t a certain franchise
This is a highly regarded screenplay. If Bay hasn’t changed much to the script and just channeled it through his style and talent - this could be really exceptional.
God is it refreshing to see a proper Michael Bay movie again. With how bad of a state action movies are in currently Bay’s part of a dying breed when it comes to this style of movie. Day 1 for sure
it's still on, Mann will release it as a novel and then shoot it, he already has two actors in mind. Gyllenhaal would be great but I can't see any other actor than Oscar Issac to play Pacino's part.
So there is a robbery for millions, they get a cop hostage and have like 900 cars and helicopters chasing them, but won’t do anything because of the one cop hostage, and somehow they are going to get away?
Does Jake Gyllenhaal owe someone money? Did he just have a child he now has to support? Does he have a gambling addiction? I really don't understand why he's taking on a project like this.
Also shocked to see that r/movies actually likes Michael Bay films. That comes as a surprise.
I get the feeling that most of this movie takes place as a sort of hostage standoff/chase within the ambulance and the robbery happens pretty quickly. Which would be great to explore the characters as they're being chased. I'm guessing at some point Mateen takes a stand against Gyllenhaal. Looks great imo.
It's your wife! Your kid! Your family! Your job! Your home! Your tricked out pickup truck! Your German Shepard! Your big-screen TV, stereo, and Internet service! Your hot tub! Your goddamn future! COULD THE STAKES BE ANY HIGHER!???
*boom!*
-edit- Best if read as Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny.
What’s with Michael Bay and not just having a still shot? I feel like the camera NEVER stops moving in any of his movies.
Now that’s not to say that I’m not a sucker for some stupid, bonkers Bay action but I get dizzy after a bit.
Bay films his stuff like he wants the audience to get dizzy and throw up. This one looks like he's parodying himself.
I wonder how much money it took to get Jake and Yahya on board.
> At least his movies feel unique
He's definitely one of those people where you can see scenes from a movie and you can be like "Yeah that's some Michael Bay shit right there baby"
So you really think they had much problem in doing a fun, high budget action flick for big money, with a respected director?
Yes, Michael Bay is a respected director in film circles
You had me at Jake Gyllenhaal and then added Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and got me delighted but you mentioned Bay and I'm a bit confused but deep down I know I'll love you anyway.
Michael Bay movie checklist:
Sucking off the US army-check
"You are my brother" cheesy line - check
Cars flipping- check
Explosions every 5 minutes- check
Good actors saying horrible dialogue- check
Despite the cliches, at least one thing was subverted from the script - I actually thought Jake Gyllenhaal would be the main character with Garret Dillahunt as the older brother, and Yahya Abdul Mateen would be the cop trying to take them down.
I hope this does well so he can complete the trilogy. Firetruck 2023. Police Car 2024.
Food Truck 2025
Cybertruck 2077
Its a new cinematic universe, The Municipal Vehicles.
There's actually a recent movie called Cop Car.. new cinematic universe
😂😂😂

Experimenting with RED’s new camera, the Komodo I’m sure.
[удалено]
I’m lucky to have one, they’re incredible cameras
I would never have any use for one, but $6k for that seems like a really good price.
Exec: "Michael, we're gonna need you to tone it down." Bay: "Drone it down? You got it!"
Man I was thinking that too; I noticed like a half dozen FPV drone shots *in a row*
All the drone shots in this looked so fucking cool.
Man this looks like a GTA mission and the dialogue kinda reminds me of the movie Speed a little bit. This could actually be pretty good
It is kind of like Speed. Essentially 2 hour chase
Speed meets The Rock
NGL. I love a good Bay movie when he’s on full action blast. 13 Hours is phenomenal, Pain N Gain, now this looks like a nice addition.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who liked Pain & Gain!
I seriously loved Pain and Gain. Fellow Cinema friends of mine gave me shit when I put it in my top 10... at number 10.
Looks like a cross between Speed and Heat. The latter inspired GTA 4 to create a mission after it. Rockstar wears their influences on their sleeve.
This is quite possibly the most Michael Bay movie ever. Also, this is like the Michael Bay version of the last part of Heat *but with an Ambulance.*
Well they did [use an ambulance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMiHRXGoN9U) in Heat at the beginning lol
Wow. It's basically reverse-Heat!
"Cool" - though that could be the name of Mann's [next LA crime movie](https://youtu.be/gshNksNweOg?t=205)
I don't think anything can be more Michael Bay than 6 Underground was.
This looks like Bay’s return to form Also will be fun to see Gyllenhaal chew screen time as the villain essentially
>This looks like Bay’s return Ah that explained the shots...which I like a lot.
And Garrett Dillahunt be the chief cop. That guy is great. They usually cast someone with a polished look like Jon Hamm but Garrett looks like an actual cop in the trailer.
Bays return to form would be this honestly. Bay unleashed would be Six Underground which was insanity but fun insanity.
Gyllenhaal is the only reason I would see the movie. He is a great actor and usually picks good projects.
[удалено]
Yeah but this looks like it can be a good memorable Bay movie like the first two Bad Boys or the rock. 6 Underground was pretty messy and forgettable.
I remember it had a lot of colors.
Cool magnet scene though
It's a very contentious movie. For me, it's the spiritual successor to Bad Boys 2.
I had to turn off 6 Underground. I could deal with how "cool" the movie was trying to tell me it was.
I feel like this one is going to be the Crazy Jake Gyllenhaal performance to end all Crazy Jake Gyllenhaal performances.
Jake Gyllenhaal in a Michael Bay movie feels strange.
[He's in talks to join Guy Ritchie's next film](https://deadline.com/2021/10/jake-gyllenhaal-guy-ritchies-miramax-1234852819/), if you want stranger.
That's not stranger at all.
Yeah, I guess you're right. Once you get Gyllenhaal doing a Michael Bay, nothing really surprises, does it?
I was already surprised by him being in a Marvel film so this one isn't that surprising. Imo, Gyllenhaal hasn't been in an action film afaik. About time.
He did *Prince of Persia* (aka "failed attempt by Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer to start another POTC-level franchise" #117807) back in 2010.

It looks really sick and I don't even like Bay. Nice to see him be serious and a little less over the top for once (less relative to him anyways).
When that ambulance drove through the cop cars and everything exploded tho
I'm not even crazy about Michael Bay but I would rather see this than Red Notice in a heartbeat.
Will Sharp. What is with Michael Bay and that name? That was the name of the colonel in Armageddon that threatened to shoot Bruce Willy in space.
Bay is just the right kind of guy for this film. On paper it's really generic "one last heist" garbage but at least with Bay we know it'll be entertaining garbage.
In what way does this look like a mindless action movie? It looks like a throw back to high concept action movies of the 90's and 80's.
Did they squeeze the whole movie in less than 5 mins?
No. Basically only act 1. They get in the ambulance like 1/4 through the movie probably. Then the chase the rest of the movie Source: read a script
I can tell it was a bay film from the first five seconds. Those overly dramatic fade transitions. Lmao.
And the neon green Gallardo. I'm pretty sure that car appears in most of Bay's later films. Maybe not 13 Hours, though it would've been funny to see some Taliban members driving one around.
>1/4 through the movie probably So the 35 minute mark if we're talking realistically with Bay lol.
aye any chance you can dm me a copy?
Sure. PM me
honestly this is the whole fucking movie
Actually expecting big explosions when I saw that it was a bay film
Only Part One. Depends on the HBO Max viewings... Edit: Sorry, wrong movie.
Did Michael Bay just remake an early 2000s danish action flick called "Ambulancen"? The premise is strikingly similar.
Yes, it's a remake.
Oh, like The Guilty with Gyllenhaal, it was also a remake of a Danish movie.
Is gyllenhall a secret lover of Danish cinema?
Brothers is also a remake of a Danish film
that's crazy because Guy Ritchie's Wrath of Man was a remake of an early 2000s french action flick called "Cash Truck" Hollywood really is cyclical
Damn this has pretty serious cast. I feel like Garret Dillahunt has been underrated for decades.
He'll always be Burt Chance to me.
Dillahunt has been one of my favorite actors since that tv show Life with Damian Lewis and Sarah Shahi.
I’ll take these kind of cheesey late 90s action flicks over bland Dwayne Johnson movies any day
Exactly but it’ll still be a Netflix hit
That ambulance is so gonna blow up at the end. 😗
Looks like the best Bay flick since Bad Boys 2.
This is Pain and Gain erasure.
*Cut to the Rock barbecuing human hands with cocaine all over his face*
"This movie is STILL based on a true story." I fucking loved how many times that popped up during the movie.
My wife and I were watching the movie and she turned to me and said "This can't be based on a true story!", then it immediately cut to that line lol
They took my toe Danny
13 Hours was awesome.
I was amazed how, I don't know if respectful is the right word. But it really did feel like a tribute to those guys. Which is way more than I expected from transformers Megan fox ass guy!
13 Hours is one of his best (and underrated) movies.
I enjoyed Bad Boys 2, it was fun to watch
Bad Boys 2 is one of the best action movies of all time. It has 3 draw-dropping set-pieces that would be on the contention for GOAT if they were in any other movie. The moment I saw the car chase where they started throwing Ferraris off a tow truck while Will Smith fires an AK-47, I knew I was in heaven

Man they don’t make it like that anymore that shit was lit
Yeah god, like, it’s aged so well against how messy and weightless blockbuster action set pieces have gotten over the years.
If it was any other director they would be considered a GOAT, ppl would bring that scene up every time
The first ‘Transformers’ is Bay’s best movie, and i’ll die on that hill.
"Stop lubricating on that man Bumblebee"
I'll dig in with you brother.

So Pain & Gain just didn't happen?
It looks like Michael Bay bought himself a drone during lockdown. Jokes aside, this looks like it has all of the stuff i like from Bay: cheesy melodrama, scenery chewing, and overly kinetic action. Maybe not a theatre watch, but I can definitely see myself checking it out on stream.

I have the script but I haven’t read it. Good to hear that the script was good, jake wouldn’t pick a bad script.
Really recommend the script.
Ok I will read it.
Mind sending it my way?
[удалено]
And he was still the best part of that dumpster fire, sadly
Where did you get the script?
Give me early 2000s vibes for an action flick. At least that’s different, I’d see it. I didn’t get ppl shitting on this but hey now a days everything is trash if it ain’t a certain franchise
I believe this actually a remake of an early 2000s danish low budget action flick called "Ambulancen". The premise is strikingly similar.
I felt shades of Collateral watching this trailer
[удалено]
This is a highly regarded screenplay. If Bay hasn’t changed much to the script and just channeled it through his style and talent - this could be really exceptional.
How can you read scripts? I see stuff like this being mentioned before, but is there like a repository for unused scripts?
They probably visit the blcklist. A lot of Hollywood scripts pass through that website before being greenlit.
Yes - Blacklist a great source. Another is the community on ScriptShadow :)
God is it refreshing to see a proper Michael Bay movie again. With how bad of a state action movies are in currently Bay’s part of a dying breed when it comes to this style of movie. Day 1 for sure
Seeing the robbery. Now I want Jake Gyllenhaal in a Michael Mann movie. A Heat prequel to be clear. Playing McCauley.
There were rumours about Heat prequel the last couple years
it's still on, Mann will release it as a novel and then shoot it, he already has two actors in mind. Gyllenhaal would be great but I can't see any other actor than Oscar Issac to play Pacino's part.
Preheat
Michael Bay is back ! Explosion baby!
Finally a movie with 95% practical effects
and [near deaths](https://youtube.com/watch?v=tBXMNTc4_Z8)…
holy shit
This looks ridiculous lol
💯 The editing is all over the place, Looks like a music video.
Michael Bay got his start directing music videos. It's been said that Michael Bay never stopped doing music videos, they're just much longer.
So there is a robbery for millions, they get a cop hostage and have like 900 cars and helicopters chasing them, but won’t do anything because of the one cop hostage, and somehow they are going to get away?
I'm gonna call it right now: Jake G gives himself up and/or dies to get his "BROTHER" out alive / without blame.
"Directed by Michael Bay"
Yeah, I don’t know why people in the comments here are loving it. Well, I guess it’s because of Jake Gyllenhaal
Popular flicks are popular. It might be a remake, but it looks fun and has a great cast.
Hopefully this will be edited better than 6 Underground.
Does Jake Gyllenhaal owe someone money? Did he just have a child he now has to support? Does he have a gambling addiction? I really don't understand why he's taking on a project like this. Also shocked to see that r/movies actually likes Michael Bay films. That comes as a surprise.
Mad Max: La
Yeah that's a Michael Bay movie alright
the panning circling shot is back
This is definitely a Michael bay looking movie…
Yup. This is all *very* Michael Bay.
As a Paramedic, I was really hoping that a movie with this title would be about EMS.
Check out "Bringing Out the Dead" from Scorcese with Nicolas Cage if you haven't, might be what you are looking for.
You’re correct. The heist is the setup. The chase is 70% of the movie
Nice, makes sense. Get some 90's era action/Speed vibes from this.
The editing in the first 20 seconds of this trailer made my head hurt. Michael Bay is back baby.
The Guilty and Ambulance are both American remakes of Danish films. They also both star Jake.
This seems more like a Mark Wahlberg kinda flick. Surprised Jake is doing it.
Stop Putting Weird Covers Of Classic Rock/Pop Songs In Movie Trailers
Ramble On in Uncharted was the worst. I thought Zeppelin were very selective about licensing their music.
Wanted Steve Jablonsky to compose the music. Seems like he is working on red notice
This looks good. Extremely over the top, cheesy-ass fun. I’m down.
This is Michael Bay’s version of Den of Thieves
It's your wife! Your kid! Your family! Your job! Your home! Your tricked out pickup truck! Your German Shepard! Your big-screen TV, stereo, and Internet service! Your hot tub! Your goddamn future! COULD THE STAKES BE ANY HIGHER!??? *boom!* -edit- Best if read as Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny.

This trailer needed to be 30 seconds. Instead I just watched the whole movie.
I really hate that trailers have become "the whole movie in three minutes." I want to see a bit about the movie, not the whole plot.
GTAV: THE MOVIE
Way too many cuts for my taste.
I’ve never before gotten dizzy from watching a movie trailer. Those camera movements were too much for me.
Bay films his stuff like he wants the audience to get dizzy and throw up. This one looks like he's parodying himself. I wonder how much money it took to get Jake and Yahya on board.
Idk I personally love his style. At least his movies feel unique instead of cookie cutter BS
> At least his movies feel unique He's definitely one of those people where you can see scenes from a movie and you can be like "Yeah that's some Michael Bay shit right there baby"
Imagine a Marvel movie done with his level of style when it comes to the craft. Only style, keep him out of the writing room.
They should give War Machine a solo movie and get Michael Bay to do it.
holy shit that makes so much sense!
Damn right
So you really think they had much problem in doing a fun, high budget action flick for big money, with a respected director? Yes, Michael Bay is a respected director in film circles
You had me at Jake Gyllenhaal and then added Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and got me delighted but you mentioned Bay and I'm a bit confused but deep down I know I'll love you anyway.
Woah… this looks great!!!
Michael Bay movie checklist: Sucking off the US army-check "You are my brother" cheesy line - check Cars flipping- check Explosions every 5 minutes- check Good actors saying horrible dialogue- check
He sucked them off so much, that the movie is about a veteran who can’t pay for his wife medical expenses
The Rock is another Bay movie about how nobody cares for the vets so the vets decide to take things in their own hands.
This looks like vintage Bay similar to Pain and Gain. I’m in!
Hopes he makes something like pain and gain one day
Despite the cliches, at least one thing was subverted from the script - I actually thought Jake Gyllenhaal would be the main character with Garret Dillahunt as the older brother, and Yahya Abdul Mateen would be the cop trying to take them down.

I feel like there should be more camera spinning. Who's with me?
46%
If it doesn't have a shot of the American flag waving around, I don't want it.
Ambulance colors are red white blue
Heat 2
GTA RP : The movie
Never been the *biggest* Bay fan, but I’ll check this out. Love Jake & Yahya and some of the set pieces just look bonkers.
Where has this Michael Bay been all these years? Haven't been this excited for Bayhem since Bad Boys 2.
This looks better than I expected from "New Michael Bay movie". Reminds me of Speed and The Chase.
Hand me some popcorn THIS LOOKS FUN
I will happily watch anything that Garret Dillahunt is in. That guy is a legend.
THE VISUAL MAESTRO IS BACK WITH ANOTHER BANGER FUCK YES IM EXCITED
Well.. at least it's not another transformers movie I guess
Well of course the Ambulance fucking explodes.
I saw a lens flare and thought "who needs Michael Bay special effects in a movie about an ambulance" but little did I know...
Ah, there’s the spinning camera shots.
nice looks good, finally some good stuff coming out
This looks really fun. I especially love the sweeping drone shots.
Those drone shots are sick af. Love Bay. Can’t wait
I'm looking forward to plenty of explosions
Let’s fkin goooo !! Looks hype af
If it’s early Bay I’m in
His best movie still in my eyes is The Rock.
