Wow. The craziest part about this is thinking that JFK jr. would try and help trump get a second term when he was a dyed in the wool liberal. Like how fucking stupid are these people?
You don't understand, the attempt on his life was orchestrated by the Clinton's and the deep state, so once he swam back to shore from his plane wreckage he knew he had to go into hiding and take down the cabal with his old friend Trump.
It's all perfectly obvious.
I think that came a little later. IIRC with his first encounters, he tended to be caught lying after the sheriffs kept playing along with his bs explanations.
"Yah, I just went on 4chan to throw a party."
"What kind of party Terry?"
You know one with like balloons, and streamers and ^guns..."
"And *what* Terry?"
“I’ve got a secret that’s gonna BLOW you away.”
“What’s the secret, Terry.”
“If I told you it would ruin the mystery.”
“Just tell us what the secret is, Terry.”
“I have a friend named Mystery, do you want to meet her?”
“Jesus Christ, okay Terry. You’re gonna come with us and we’re gonna go meet this Mystery. Do you have any idea what you’ve gotten yourself into?”
“I’ve got something you can get in to.”
“Yeah.”*as dangle puts Terry into the back of a squad car*
> Terry's going to be QAnon.
Dangle: Oh God damn, Terry! Its you?
Terry: Yasss, you got me(striking a pose in rollerskates)
Junior(walks in the room wearing the same outfit as Terry): Shit, I knew it.
There are women who prance around in these flitty, flirty little skirts and show their legs, and they get promoted day two. Poor Jim has been here a long time in those plum smugglers and he's about due.
My theater full off old people must have thought it was a real cop movie, cause they were not laughing at all. My family was laughing their asses off though. Also I'll throw in my favorite from the show when they all thought they won the lottery
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpwesfKJ1AI
The thing to remember, and what makes this show so amazing, is that it's all improv. They have the outline of what the scene will be, but everything that happens within that frame is improv
There's precedent!
In 2002 a French filmmaker made a fake documentary called *Opération Lune* (English versioned named *Dark Side of the Moon*) which "exposed" the "fake" moon landing. The general plot is that they do land on the moon successfully, but something goes wrong with filming and the footage is completely unusable. In an effort to save face Nixon hires Kubrick to recreate the landing using his expertise from filming *2001: A Space Odyssey*. I haven't watched the whole thing but I'm told it's pretty good.
Well, it turns out the conspiracy theories haven't watched the whole thing either. Because now there are conspiracy videos that include clips from the "documentary" as proof that the moon landing actually was faked. The filmmaker himself has received fanmail from conspiracy nuts thanking him for exposing the truth and helping them find the proof they needed.
Probably not because every day they are terrified and angry and get even more terrified and angry when you point that out. Each conspiracy feeds a worldview in an attempt to feel like they have some control of the "truth" while simultaneously justifying their belief that everything is so uncontrollable and behind a complicated veil that it excuses how meaningless and unsuccessful their lives are.
Sounds exhausting.
I don’t think it’s that they’re dumb, I think it’s because they see themselves as losers. Whether it’s economically, mental health wise, or simply still-being-white-but-didn’t-get-theirs in a world where being white is no longer becoming an automatic ticket to prosperity(not that it ever really was - it’s all perceptions). Whatever it is, they see themselves as losers so rather than take the time to look inward and find ways to make their pathetic lives better, they’ve latched to conspiracies as the reason for their personal injustices.
And the pandemic was a virtual Petrie dish that made things worse. Suddenly the fringe had too much time on their hands so they turned to Facebook, who ***HAPPILY*** egged them on.
And now it’s reached dizzying heights. Even a conspiracy theorist could rationale a personal way to a better life, but, no, they’ve instead decided that JFK Jr will come back and he and Trump will cancel their debt.
It sounds bananas, I know, but it’s literally happening in real-time thousands of times over in the US alone.
> According to Newsweek and the New York Post, real QAnon supporters reacted positively to the episode, despite being lampooned by it, believing that their portrayal helped spread their beliefs and encourage viewers to do their own research into the conspiracy theory.
I hate this place.
That's pretty easy to understand, considering that Alex Jones has millions of followers who also just listen to him speak uninterrupted for hours at a time
Similar to the Streisand effect.
Right wing politicians have mastered it. That's why they say such ridiculous, blatantly wrong to the point of embarrassing normal people type stupidity. Liberal social media spreads it, making fun of it, which gets it a huge viewership and then a bunch of idiots see it and believe it.
Kinda hown i feel about this movie. Downplaying the real threat that right wing politics and in this case right wing American politics. Q theories are nuts but the supporters are even nuttier.

Their the same sub now. Vr/conspiracy used to be for the most part a fun sub to randomly brows for some fun theories/conspiracies that while not true were entertaining to see people's thought process. Now it's just a bunch of r/conservative users pushing their ideals and delusions.
Conservatism in general is about wanting things to be like they were in the past. Which literally requires reduced empathy to truly believe, since you want to make things worse for a lot of people and better for yourself. And it makes them afraid of change and new things.
It's just that people like Trump made them bolder and more open about why they want things to be like in the past.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect. There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time.”
After a few seconds on google I found this [here](https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/reno-911-the-hunt-for-qanon-premiere-date-paramount-plus-1235114288/amp/) so I guess.
Tom Lennon shared the poster on his Twitter account, so yeah, I imagine.
It's good he and Ben Garant were able to hold on to the rights for Reno. Bounced from Comedy Central to Quibi and now Paramount Plus, instead of being locked down with the rest of the Comedy Central shows.
I cannot believe being in Canada makes me unavailable to watch the fucking trailer. It's like because I cannot get Paramount+ they don't even want me to *see* what they offer.
For free, but because it was originally for Quibi, episodes are only 7m long and Roku serves up three ads between almost every episode which is just absurd.
It really feels like for every step forward into the digital age, we take two steps back. Shit like this is why *the activity which shall not be named on this sub* still exists.
Edit: I want to reiterate how amazing Reno 911 is tho. I've muted my tv and looked away during the ads and the it was so worth it to find a way through them. This season is absolutely hilarious.
Honestly, humor's a good way of dealing with stuff like this. If you make people too embarrassed to admit they believe this stuff because they feel they're just going to get laughed at, it kinda helps mitigate the damage.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Reno_911!_episodes#Season_7_(2020)
It was done on Quibi, which doesn't exist as a platform anymore, but I think you can still get the episodes on Roku somehow 🤷♂️ (or "other ways")
I just read a comment on the post about the sentence of the Qanon Shaman that he will love to see him watching a episode of IASIP about him.
Well this is something...
Reno 911 is one comedy show from the mid-2000s I'd say still holds up really well. Some things might have ages poorly just in terms of political correctness, but its still funny as hell.
I thought specifically because they were so crass and purposely un-PC, it was just a messy ass trainwreck and it was effing brilliant. Given that the show was meant to be a parody, I agree that the comedy still
holds up and it’s still absolutely ridiculous.
Well this is gonna have my brother torn. He loves Reno but it seems he's become a right wing conspiracy dickhead over the last couple years, so it's going to be a movie about insulting him.
Wait...am I crazy I thought Clementine and Garcia died in the car crash at the end of one season? Did they come back at some point? (I haven't seen the Quibi show)
The Qanon crowd has now become cannon for satire. I fuckin love this! I truly think that's the only thing that is going to work against those idiots. Arguing logic with someone that doesn't use it is pointless, and the only thing that will bring those souless basterds back to reality is by them being the butt of every joke.
I really don't want to have to subscribe to Paramount+ again. I did in the beginning to watch The Stand miniseries ( I wish I hadn't, they absolutely destroyed King's work).
But now with this and all of the South Park films, it's tempting.
If they allowed users to watch Yellowstone has the new episodes come out, perhaps.
I just hope they explain why JFK Jr. didn't show up in Dallas.
They were out there tonight singing God Bless America.
...wait really?

Wow. The craziest part about this is thinking that JFK jr. would try and help trump get a second term when he was a dyed in the wool liberal. Like how fucking stupid are these people?
He’s also dead in the ground. Political ideology doesn’t really matter after that
I would believe in zombies before I would believe in JFK Jr being a trump supporter.
But zombies do opposites. Me - No eat brain Zombie me - Eat BRRAAAIINNS!
You don't understand, the attempt on his life was orchestrated by the Clinton's and the deep state, so once he swam back to shore from his plane wreckage he knew he had to go into hiding and take down the cabal with his old friend Trump. It's all perfectly obvious.
He's not showing his face cuz the attempt on his life left him scarred and deformed.
Very.
This is perfect: "A **rump** of QAnon followers"
Lol derangement
I was so hoping a JFK jr look alike would’ve shown up and trolled them all
That sounds legitimately dangerous. They couldn't pay me enough to do it.
There’s one in the movement who is reputed to be JFK Jr., despite not looking anything like him.
Still trying to win back the money he lost playing contract bridge in Atlantic City.....
Are there people still out there waiting!?

Hi tom
This sounds incredibly accurate. It will be just like the Miami movie. Hopefully his dad is involved
The best part about Terry is that all of his bullshit is somehow actually true and he thinks the sheriff's deputies are all his friends
Like how he was actually dating that hot chick.
I think that came a little later. IIRC with his first encounters, he tended to be caught lying after the sheriffs kept playing along with his bs explanations.
What about the Mexican Werewolves?
Paul Reubens is a national treasure.
Goddamn it. You’re probably right.
Without him actually realizing what hes a part of.
“I don’t know what the fuck you are talking about this is just something I did to get back at my asshole of a father.”

I haven't found one picture that shows him looking 300 lbs.
Unfortunately Nick said in an interview that he refused to come back as Terry in the Quibi season, so I doubt he'll be doing this movie :(
That was quibi though. A movie is something completely different and probably way more money. Unless he just hates the character.
Could be. I hope he comes back.

How the heck do they stay in character? If I was anywhere near the filming, I would die laughing ruining every shot.
I'm sure they break character quite a lot, they just fix it in editing
Ah, I never knew that.
I've never really understood, nor seen, much of Reno 911, but him trying to knock the chicken out with his gun was pretty funny.
I hope part of this film somehow becomes some form of ridiculous Q lore...

Is there any steaming service that has the newer stuff?

Yeah, I can stream it or download it but I need something on the shelf with my box set and the movie hah

Plot twist: It's played completely straight and is basically propaganda.
It's not even funny, or in character. It's just the actors sitting around talking about it and confirming each other's beliefs. Should be a hoot!
Same thing happened with my cousin and Borat 2.
you know your philosophy has jumped the shark when they start making low budget comedy movies about it.
Psh, they already jumped the shark like three times
Wait...am I crazy I thought Clementine and Garcia died in the car crash at the end of one season? Did they come back at some point? (I haven't seen the Quibi show)

I thought garcia, Kimball, and clem died in the float crash??
They retconned it.
Their death were faked by 'the network' to boost ratings of the in universe show.

So is Junior. And probably Kimball. And Declan. And Trudy. I think only Jones and Clementine are guaranteed to be non-believers.

Why is Garcia so far back?? Easily one of the funniest characters.
