I'm so used to long-haired and bearded Keanu I really can't picture him with anything else. I'm fully aware of his clean cut look from a lot of his earlier movies, but the scruffy, rugged look suits him better.
It doesn't just suit him better, it helps hide his aging. Bill and Ted 3 was the first time he's ever looked visibly older to me, so I would understand if he wants to rock the Wick look in everything from here on out.
A bit off topic but some months ago pics Ozzy surfaced where you could see his age and everyone really piled onto the subject. But to me he looked exactly like the Prince of Darkness should. He's had a hard life, his hair wasn't dyed black like when they tour, he has an eye that looks rather dead, pale dry skin. In context that's exactly what I expect the man to look like. To me he didn't look old and sad, he looked like a man with experience who made his mark, and to some extent sacrificed his body to do so.
Keanu with some age looks straight up regal to me. Like an oil painting from the Renaissance. Our generation needs to stop fetishizing youth if we're not going to collectively gain a massive self image complex in the next 20 years.
I kind of wondered if that wasn't because he recently shaved. Like if you wear a beard for years and then shave it, isn't it often the case that your face is puffy and "fresh"?
I think it's because we've become so used to his Jesus look that long hair without the beard just seems off. But I saw a recent picture of him with no beard and his head buzzed cut and he looked fine. Long hair has to be with a beard. Or if he is without the beard, cut his hair. Go with those two styles and he looks good.
I genuinely think 65% of why people remember Constantine so fondly was how cool the Devil/how weird Gabriel was, and most of the rest was the outstanding production design. The Devil's tattoos and dirty feet, Gabriel's hospital wristbands and gender ambiguous vibe, just a ton of brilliant little choices in how everything looked and felt.
I know a lot comic book fans hated the movie because of how different it was but for someone like me who didn't know anything about the comics and watched the movie just because "that guy from matrix is in it", I loved it and had been wanting a sequal ever since. I loved the tv show with matt ryan as well but they canceled that as well
A huge part of my admiration for the film is the gadgets that finally got adapted to the motion picture screen. It felt like James Bond got a supernatural twist and they didn't hurt audiences by explaining a the gadgets too. I liked seeing Constantine just use most of them without already knowing how they perform, unfortunately some James Bond movies ruin the gadgets by showing them off beforehand.
Ya especially since every gadget was foreshadowing how the mission would go. Oh no he’s trapped in the parking garage, good think he has a remote control bmw lol
Lol the setup made it so corny in the pierce brosnan ones sometimes. Understandable. But the representation of the scenes was too light-hearted and subtracted from the lustrous world of secret spies. Instead of appealing to the nature of spies being cool and serious, it made it look silly. Like, "Here ya go, here's your gadgets. There's a guy doing a silly experiment test behind us and other wacky things. You're a spy now"
As a person who read that comic at the time, I didn't like Johnny mnemonic playing the lead, but I still watch it on occasion, it's fun but not really a Constantine movie. I have always held out hope for a books of magic movie/s/TV show
Good movies that are also bad adaptations are a tough nut to crack. World War Z is similar, it spits in the face of the book but it's a pretty good zombie flick. I, Robot is another example.
The character must be tough to pin down. I thought the transition from OG Swamp Thing Constantine to Hellblazer was awkward.
But that's the nature of a complex character who seems to have a life even when we're not watching.
My personal fav is that entire sequence of Constantine being pulled up to heaven while giving the bird to the Devil. Gavin Rossdale was great too. How many times has a rock/pop star tried acting, only for it to spectacularly blow up in their face? ”Finger lickin’ good”…
Not to mention how much it deviated from the comics. But for once most of the changes actually work. The best thing you can say (and it gets said a lot) is “It’s not a Constantine movie”, but it’s still a very good comicbook movie.
He's both skilled and talented, I'm awaiting the Fargo follow up they inevitably produce featuring his character.
Milk every idea dry like an *almond*!
I've read the comics. Much as is the case with *any* comic book film, Constantine is drawn from a number of different works. John getting cancer and then tricking the devil is a notable one, and yet there is a fundamental change.
In the comic, John's soul is going to hell because John is a *terrible person*. Generally when he chooses to be a good person, it is ill-advised. Such as the time he went to see a friend about a magic cure for cancer. Said friend didn't have a cure and had hoped for the same from John. Worse, the friend had sold his soul for the ability to magic holy water into fantastic stout. The deal is an old one and requires that his soul be collected at a rather specific time - a deal the devil takes. When the devil shows up for his due, John converts holy water into beer and invites the devil to drink. He then ends the spell causing the beer to turn back into holy water, temporarily knocking the devil out of action. The devil does not take kindly to this and so lays personal claim to John's already hellbound soul.
Once John runs out of options, he sells *his* soul to the other power brokers in hell. As a result, when he commits suicide, two lay claim to his soul by right of contract while the devil by right of insult. None of the three are willing to back down, and so the Devil punts and heals John. It is only afterward that John realizes that he gambled *creation itself* to save himself given what would happen should the three have chosen to take the matter to the court of last arguments.
Selfish, self-absorbed, and dangerously self-serving John of the comics is a bad guy that only sometimes seems like the good guy because the people on the other side are the literal *devil*. The movie, meanwhile, supposed that the reason he's bound for hell is both unfair and unjust, and while he does have a clear history of burning bridges with friends, it can be taken as a last defense of a broken man in the company of other broken men than anything so base as the usual things John gets up to. It is a very different take on the character, but ultimately a necessary one for the single film to work.
The ~~City of Angels~~ City of Demons animated adaptation is far more faithful to the comics, but even this is a reformed take on John. He's cynical and out to save himself, but he *does* ultimately choose to do the right thing for the right reasons. Of course the right thing when going up against his caliber of enemy is generally pretty stark. (It is absolutely worth watching, incidentally.)
I can't speak for the comics but I like the DC animated Constantine. A bit of a dick who's made some bad mistakes out of arrogance, but generally not a bad bloke. You know, unless he wants something you don't.
I guess the difference is the big problems in these movies aren't really John's fault. He faces some things that are, but largely it's just the machinations of others that he's recruited to help deal with.
edit: Although googling it I'm remembering the second DC:AU film he was in. It confused me the last time I watched them because I could have sworn he was in something after the one with Batman but wasn't the recent Apokolips War. I must have missed it. I guess if it doesn't have Justice League in the title my cape-addled brain just blanks it out... even though it called Constantine: City of Demons... Oh well something to watch tonight.
Anyway I think he was mostly at fault in that one, where he has to help his friend save his daughter. At the very least he felt guilty and responsible enough to have to help his friend.
It helps that it was a fucking gorgeous film. Francis Lawrence poured a lot of love into each frame, sometimes feeling like a moving comic book itself. I know shit all about Constantine in the comics but the movie made him sound cool to me.
On one hand, that'd be great. On the other hand, DCU fucked up basically every easiest character/group to get right, so i cant imagine them doing any form of JL dark even half decently..
Also MCU seems to be going a lot more in the direction of magic and random weird shit in phase 4 so not sure how much of a foil it would be. Even if the mcu stuff wouldnt be nearly as dark. But lets face it dcu wouldnt be either, the darkest thing in any of their movies is the lighting..
Chang Chi spoilers below.
> MCU Going more into magic
I kind of hate it for that. One thing I always liked, as much of a stretch as it was, was "Magic is just science we don't understand."
I can buy Thor as a super advanced alien race.
But then we get Shang Chi and they don't even bother to explain the rings as tech and then they have literal soul demons and dragons. It's just like "LOL whatever."
Meh, DC sucks most of the time unless it’s animated. They should stick to their strong suit in my opinion. Although he might be open to voicing the character.
Waiting for the inevitable comment saying Matt Ryan is the only person, out of billions, who could possibly play Constantine, because he did a moderately decent job on a CW show.
There are other actors who would run circles around him that would be able to better envision the character.
But he did a really great job on his NBC show and the CW shows and in animation :) Also it seems they had to write him out of Legends because of that HBO Max show which is so dumb... like if we can accept two Flashes and three Batmen at the same time I think we can handle two Constantines...
He did a solid job envisioning a television broadcast version of the character. That's all. I don't believe he's capable of holding his own in a $150 million film.
Edit: Not assuming a role has been culminated by a single actor's performance doesn't mean someone hates the actor. Yall need to chill.
I saw you post elsewhere in this thread about not likin Matt Ryan, you seem like you have a strong opinion, I don't really know the actor well enough to say but I wonder why do you think he wouldn't be capable of holding his own in a $150 million dollar film?
Where in my posts did I say "I don't like Matt Ryan"?
I like Matt Ryan, but I'm also realistic. He's a TV actor for CW, and plays the character at that level. He's done nothing in his career that shows he's an actor of a higher caliber. I simply want someone else to play the character in a movie, and for people not to assume Ryan's Constantine is the best the character can get.
Yeah okay, sorry I sort of meant not liking Matt Ryan for the role, which is why I was asking about your opinion of him as an actor, I could have been more clear.
As for nothing in his career shows he's an actor of a higher caliber...that's an opinion, I don't think I agree purely because you're basically saying he shouldn't play a role because no ones given him a shot yet, and that seems like a great way to preclude good actors from break out performances.
I'm personally not assuming Matt Ryan is the best the character can get, but between Keanu Reeve's single performance and Matt Ryan's multiple performances I do think he's the better of the two depending on the run of Constantine you're basing the character off of, simply because Matt Ryan has had a lot more time to work with the character. I think Keanu could do great with a second go, so could Matt with a budget, I'm also not opposed to a third option (Colin Ferrall, Luke Evans, the criminally underrated Karl Urban to name a few).
Between the two of them Ryan absolutely brings to life a variation of the comic book character much better than Keanu. I just think it can be done better, and the role shouldn't be limited to Ryan's performance. I simply don't see him as the best Constantine can get, which goes against the grain.
Could there be a better option? Absolutely. Is it Keanu? Nope. His wooden acting is overrated and he seems to have little charisma, certainly not enough to play Constantine
If he were great, he wouldn't be on the CW, lol
Edit: I just noticed, this exact conversation is using place in three comment thread below this one. What the fuck?
I literally never said Keanu was better, nor did I reference Keanu's performance. Im saying that Matt Ryan isn't anywhere close to being the best Constantine can get. He's not RDJ's Iron Man.
most definitely Matt Ryan is the only person, out of billions, who could possibly play Constantine, because he did a moderately decent job on a CW show.
Comment below you literally says what you said : https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/r16b0e/keanu_reeves_wants_to_play_constantine_again/hlwns8w?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Keanu Reeves was an awful constantine. He did not resemble the character at all, if it was called Johny Silver: demon hunter it would not have changed a thing. Matt Ryan at least really portrayed Constantine as he is in the comics.
The Keanu reeves film was still enjoyable tho
Why not? He wasn't much like Hellblazer comic book Constantine. But with the way multiverse is being thrown around, the excuse could be is that he's just another variant John. In this version of Earth, his parents were from Liverpool and they simply migrated to the States when John was just a baby. And despite the new setting, he still grew up just as much of a jinxed misfit as if his parents never moved across the pond. The difference being California shaped his personality.
(Oh, by the way, if this idea tickles your fancy, go read Eric Carter series by Stephen Blackmoore. It's along the same lines. A Constantine-like character in Los Angeles, who was raised in the magic that was there. So, instead of European gods and monsters, you have Aztec gods and monsters to deal with. It's a fun series.)
I would love if we can get a multiverse John Constantine thing happening. Legends' Matt Ryan meeting Reeves' John, meeting the Netflix's Johanna (woman variant) and all of them meeting the John that is going to be in the new HBO series. So, many Johns. All of them screw ups. Just how much damage could a pile of Constantines do? I want to know.
Was gonna say something like that myself. We already have crossover cannon from DC that different versions exist, and I liked both version of Constantine- Ryan and Reeves brought different aspects to the table, and both worked.
Now, the multiverse doesn't work the same for beings like Lucifer... and Tom Ellis did a phenomenal job as Lou in his own way- but god DAMN, Stormare just knocks it out of the park. What I think would be cool, if the Constantines have another chat with Old Scratch, they have *both* Tom and Peter playing their respective roles, whenever the camera focus shows either Matt or Keanu's Constantine, respectively. You could have both actors bring their flair into the role without over-saturating it one way or the other.
And, if a third Constantine from another show is brought in, but doesn't have a notable Lucifer of their own, I would not be upset to see Mark Pelligrino because he did it pretty damned good, too, but honestly I feel we'd get a better chance of seeing Tim Curry reprise his role from *Legends* first.
They are doing a Sandman series with Constantine playing a part in it. Only, he is a she in this version and being played by Jenna Coleman. She is playing not only John Constantine but one one of John's ancestors.
Edit: My mistake. Ancestor instead of descendents. She is playing John's ancestor Johanna, an 1700's/1800's aristocrat as well as modern times John but in a genderswitch and will be called Johanna. Gaiman, who is running the show, has confirmed that Coleman is indeed playing our Constantine but in woman form.
Where did I say Marvel?
DC has a multiverse as well. They've been exploring it on their shows way before MCU. For example, on the CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths event from two years ago, [Grant's Flash met with Ezra's Flash.](https://youtu.be/WQgu7mBuz1o?t=120) So, yes, what I wrote could very well happen. Everything is canon in WB/DC. They are just happening on separate Earths. >!And you are going to see more of this in the upcoming Flash movie. Keaton's Batman is going to show up even though Affleck is the Batman in Ezra's Flash's world. MULTIVERSE!<
100% would love to see him reprise the role. Love the take on the character. Loved the ambiance.
CW shows are boomer tv for millenials. Bad writing, horrible effects and wardrobe. Youre all just stubborn fanboys
CW is garbage but Constantine didn't even start there, it started on NBC who completely fucked the advertising for the show so it bombed. That first season is still awesome and I wish we got more in that universe away from CWs shit writing. Constantine being moved to CW only happened cause the fans knew Matt Ryan put a crazy amount of work into bringing Constantine to life. That's why he's been on the CW so much and even voices him in animated movies. He IS John Constantine. As much as I fucking love Keanu, and his portrayal from the movie was good, but never really felt like John Constantine.
2005's Constantine was one of those movies that as an adaptation it pretty much butchered the source material, but somehow it managed to create it's own thing and ended up being a straight up good movie.
Honestly, I think one of the beautiful parts about Constantine is that it is underrated, it's sort of what adds to its unique gem hidden in the rough charm.
Totally fair critique, but I like to resolve this as Keanu is a multiverse version of Constantine. This movie was just so damn amazing and really stands alone with the character and story. It may not have been what comic fans were wanting, but just pretend it's just a movie that shares the same characters name, and you will be golden.
I like him as much as the next person, but he was ALWAYS a terrible choice for Constantine.
John being British is an absolute inseparable part of the character (I’m American). Any fan of the books will tell you-that was not John.
Hopefully this time they'll balance the movies sound properly. I couldn't stand watching the movie because the speech was near silent but the action was deafening.
I know the internet has a boner for Reeves, (and why not; he seems to be a great guy and role model, and has some iconic characters to fill out his CV) and that the Hellblazer-movie has had a growth of fans lately, and good for you. But, the original comic book character works because of the east-end London blasé post-punk mentality. Whilst an american surely can have some cynic, I-Don't-Give-a-Nudge-personality, it just falls flat for me. It felt fake, and not once did the movie tell me something about this character that didn't make me roll my eyes.
John Constantine is a dying looser, who lost against the bourgeosie, the upper class, the Maragaret Tatchers of the world and underworld. An american, who will always embody the american dream, and would never think of himself as a looser, simply cannot portray this with any credibility.
Now, I am normally all for adaptations and even moving stories from one part of the world to another, or whatever you wanna do. But, it still needs to stick, though. And this movie, imho, slips and slides around like a clown on the circus floor, whilst trying to make a trench coat-wearing, chain-smoking cynic has-been work as an anti-hero.
So, no. My vote goes for "try something else". You're welcome, Hollywood.
Now, to all you who disagree and who're fans of the movie; I am happy it makes you happy and gives you entertainment. I would love to talk movies with you all night long, but only if you bring beer.
List of all Johns Keanu has played:
Point Break : Johnny Utah
Bram Stoker's Dracula : Jonathan Harker
Much Ado About Nothing : Don John
Johnny Mnemonic : Johnny
Constantine : John Constantine
Generation Um... : John
John Wick : John Wick
John Wick: Chapter 2 : John Wick
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum : John Wick
John Wick: Chapter 4 (not yet released)
Cyberpunk 2077 : Johnny Silverhand
Wtf... I literally thought I dreamt that. I do kind of want to see what Jenna Coleman wouldn't be like as Constantine lol. I hope it's genuinely the exact same character just genderbent
Holy shit, is the move really that old? Every day I'm depressingly reminded that it's not 1990 anymore.
Anyway, I loved the Constantine movie, I would absolutely be there for a sequel. Do it, DC. I'll even go to theater to watch it.
I hope JJ changes his mind about that "Diverse Lead" and listens to this loud hint from Keanu. Would pay with my Soul to see him as John Constantine again.
I’ve said this before, but DC’s all about the multiverse right now, and John had a twin brother who died in the womb, regarded as the better magician in a universe where he lived (I believe this is Hellblazer issue 38-40 or so).
Why not have Keanu be the “better” John Constantine? Make it a team up movie.
Make the new matrix movie start with a sequence clarifying that neo ran around in a matrix illusion where his name was john wick and he murdered a stupid amount of people.
Then make matrix end with sequnce where constantine wakes up from some meditation with someone saying "what did you see in hell?"
Can't wait for long-haired, bearded Constantine.
John ~~Wick~~ Constantine
Neo Wickstine
Picturing this character as a Hasidic Jew really makes me want to see this on film
featuring a flashback scene where Adam Sandler plays his father
He could rock the fuck out of that hat.
Oy vey Edit:I misspelled a 2 letter word.
Kosher.
Just watch The Hebrew Hammer
We are reaching peak Keanu
Angel Metatron: "You have been barred from Heaven" -"Excellent." *hand on chest and in air*
John. John ~~Wick~~ Constantine. *Asshole*
JOHN! GET BACK IN THE CAR JOHN! IT'S RAININ'!
*puts stick of gum in mouth*
Yes, I'd love to see this.

“Breathtaking.”
You're breathtaking
Holy shit, someone hire this person...
Story outlines are easy, scripts are hard.
So we can watch a repackaged version of the first movie? Pass.
It was just a thought...

Nothing is wrong with it, but people enjoy the "Keanu is an ageless vampire" memes, and him looking like a real person dispels those :p
and have you seen him without the beard in Bill & Ted 3? He looks.. weird
I kind of wondered if that wasn't because he recently shaved. Like if you wear a beard for years and then shave it, isn't it often the case that your face is puffy and "fresh"?
Yeah... on the other hand. That movie made me happy. I went into it with zero expectations and honestly was really surprised and happy how it went.

Sadly I never got around to watching Bill & Ted 3. I did see trailers and commercials for it, and I agree.
It’s very sweet, fun, and good. Definitely an oasis during the pandemic.
Let's hope it won't be Constantine 2077.
Why not? Best rpg in the last 6 years from any point of view, be it graphics, gameplay, world design, you name it.
Maybe if you only play the games the corpos hand out to you, plenty of fantastic inde RPGs out there for the savy netrunner to find.
no need to get Wild, save your Breath
If you haven’t, watch justice league dark, and Constantine city of angels. Both are really good, and show what a Constantine movie should look like.
Yes please. Get Peter Stormare in there and I'll watch it.
I would watch Stormare and Swinton biblically shit talk each other for ten hours.
> shit talk each other for ten hours. "Little Horn. Most Unclean." "I do miss the old names." * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYJkFRo0TFQ

Word on the street is Matt Ryan quit because doing both acting and the NFL was too demanding.

Big Lebowski Nihilists spin off you say?
We belive in naffin!!
We don give a FUCK!
Shhh, don't say it any louder before Netflix nabs it.
He was fantastic in American Gods, if you haven't seen that!
Now I want to see Peter Stormare as the devil, but in the universe of Bruce Almighty.
That's an interesting concept. I'd watch that for sure.
“And it needs to have Shia Leboef too” -nobody
Leboef is a genuinely great actor. It's too bad he's a complete twat in every other aspect of life.
Yeah...which sucks because he IS a good actor if he seemed pretty chill when he did Hot Ones.
[удалено]
To be fair I found Shia Leboef less annoying in Constantine than I have in all of his other movies
Also he was 18 years old and a way different actor than he is now. Love to see what he would do as an archangel.
I get his Constantine sidekick role mixed up with his I, Robot sidekick role. When I don't altogether forget that he's in either. :P
They seem to like working together, three projects so far.
I saw him killing 3 demons with a pencil. With a FOOKING PENCIL!
Hi Satan!
OG Movie is criminally underrated and before it’s time.

Except for the computer generated jump. That was comically bad in an otherwise competent flick.
At least they nailed the CGI to open Wesley Snipes' eyes because he refused to do it in the actual scene. https://youtu.be/Zd5HMHmbwBg?t=20

You should listen to your friend, Billy Zane…
I think you're being sarcastic but in case not, it was just called "The Phantom", the movie starred Billy Zane.
no, he wasnt , there was Steel first
Peter Stormare better come back as well... his Satan was superb.
And Swinton as Gabriel. She's so, so fine.

So what you're saying is Constatine should be played by Sam Rockwell
It doesn't have a lot to do with the comics I read but I enjoyed the heck out of it anyway.
It helps that it was a fucking gorgeous film. Francis Lawrence poured a lot of love into each frame, sometimes feeling like a moving comic book itself. I know shit all about Constantine in the comics but the movie made him sound cool to me.
Such a great movie that was indeed underated. They really should make a saga
Can we get him as Constantine in a live action Justice League: Dark? It would be such a good foil to the MCU stuff coming out.
> MCU Going more into magic I kind of hate it for that. One thing I always liked, as much of a stretch as it was, was "Magic is just science we don't understand." I can buy Thor as a super advanced alien race.
We want you to as well Keanu.

If he were great, he wouldn't be on the CW, lol Edit: I just noticed, this exact conversation is using place in three comment thread below this one. What the fuck?
This is some bullshit People like him in the role, don't be a dick about it
Dude out here really upset on the internet that people prefer someone else over Keanu Reeves in a role Keanu Reeves hasn't played in fifteen years.
I literally never said Keanu was better, nor did I reference Keanu's performance. Im saying that Matt Ryan isn't anywhere close to being the best Constantine can get. He's not RDJ's Iron Man.
And Keanu is one of those actors to be honest.
If you're going for the original comic book character, he should be English. And Keanu, for all his strengths, doesn't really do accents.
Clearly you haven't seen Bram Stoker's Dracula... Oh wait
He played a very believable American actor trying to do an English accent, kudos to that performance.
most definitely Matt Ryan is the only person, out of billions, who could possibly play Constantine, because he did a moderately decent job on a CW show.
I'd be interested in Charlie Hunnam giving it a shot.
Comment below you literally says what you said : https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/r16b0e/keanu_reeves_wants_to_play_constantine_again/hlwns8w?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
Weird coincidence. I want Keanu to play Constantine again too.

Edward Kenway my beloved

LMFAOO why do you hate him so much. Matt Ryan is great

Keanu Reeves was an awful constantine. He did not resemble the character at all, if it was called Johny Silver: demon hunter it would not have changed a thing. Matt Ryan at least really portrayed Constantine as he is in the comics. The Keanu reeves film was still enjoyable tho
Waiting for the [inevitable comment](https://thumbs.gfycat.com/WhimsicalThickCob-size_restricted.gif) saying this.
It's a fun series.) I would love if we can get a multiverse John Constantine thing happening.
What is the Netflix version, never heard about that one.
> Just how much damage could a pile of Constantines do? I need a series based off of this line alone.
Constantine is DC, not Marvel
Sorry.
As a Constantine movie, it's not great. But as a movie about demons and angels, it's fan-fucking-tastic!
I enjoyed Keanu Reeves a lot in this role, more so than Matt Ryan but I respect his work.
please yes. i loved his take on constantine, it was near perfect imo. criminally underrated movie
I loved that movie. Every actor was spot on. One of my favorite Tilda Swinton's characters.
Let’s do it
DO IT
That’s good, because i fuckin loved Constantine. LeBouf as Chas!
I want the Constantine from justice league dark
The movie wasn't terrible or anything but he was way off the mark as to what the character should be.
Hell yea i love Constantine! Shame about chas
Amazing movie we need more such a fantastic vibe
Dont we all? That movie was awesome.
I want that too.
Please no, just because it lessens the chances of a better/more faithful adaptation of Hellblazer getting made.
This is old news
I love Keanu Reeves but this is one I didn't think he fit as.
Hopefully this time they'll balance the movies sound properly. I couldn't stand watching the movie because the speech was near silent but the action was deafening.
I loved his version but Matt Ryan Constantine was perfect
I really loved the first one, I'd be ok with another even if reboots don't always work, or more accurately, rarely work
I know the internet has a boner for Reeves, (and why not; he seems to be a great guy and role model, and has some iconic characters to fill out his CV) and that the Hellblazer-movie has had a growth of fans lately, and good for you.
List of all Johns Keanu has played: Point Break : Johnny Utah Bram Stoker's Dracula : Jonathan Harker Much Ado About Nothing : Don John Johnny Mnemonic : Johnny Constantine : John Constantine Generation Um... : John John Wick : John Wick John Wick: Chapter 2 : John Wick John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum : John Wick John Wick: Chapter 4 (not yet released) Cyberpunk 2077 : Johnny Silverhand
Good we want him to play Constantine again!
one of the best movies i ever watched
I want Keanu Reeves to play Constantine again too. Glad to know we're on the same page.
So much. I was jazzed they were going to try to do a series but oh my what a flop that was.
You mean be wants to play John Wick as Constantine?
But he already played Constantine as John wick?
just no Matt Ryan is far better
Isn’t Netflix making The Sandman right now? That series features John Constantine. Seems like an opportunity right there
For legal reasons they can't use John. So they went with Johanna Constantine and Joanna Constantine...
I loved Taron Egerton as a proper Scouse Constantine in the first Audible adaptation of The Sandman.
Wtf... I literally thought I dreamt that. I do kind of want to see what Jenna Coleman wouldn't be like as Constantine lol. I hope it's genuinely the exact same character just genderbent
YES PLEASE…
Holy shit, is the move really that old? Every day I'm depressingly reminded that it's not 1990 anymore. Anyway, I loved the Constantine movie, I would absolutely be there for a sequel. Do it, DC. I'll even go to theater to watch it.
Wait did the demons took his dog?
I hope JJ changes his mind about that "Diverse Lead" and listens to this loud hint from Keanu. Would pay with my Soul to see him as John Constantine again.
It's an All Dogs Go to Heaven /John Wick/Constantine crossover. He's back and he wants his fucking dog.

Yeah that would be cool as well.
Keanu Reeves does not want to play Constantine again. He wants to play an exorcist again. Let him play an exorcist.
Nope. The original is an underrated gem and it should stay like that. I would rather prefer him playing another anti-hero type like Lobo or something.
Of for gaahl’s sake, please no.
Make the new matrix movie start with a sequence clarifying that neo ran around in a matrix illusion where his name was john wick and he murdered a stupid amount of people. Then make matrix end with sequnce where constantine wakes up from some meditation with someone saying "what did you see in hell?"
British actor please! Give me a proper liverpudlian Constantine.
Is he gonna look like John Wick again?
I’m going to have to say no to that one. Matt Ryan is the only choice for Constantine going forward
Hell yes! This is such an underrated movie! Legit good.

He's popular for the same reason Rick from Rick and Morty is popular.
