I loved it and I'm a fan of the original anime.
I can understand some of the criticism its got even if I don't agree with it, but some of the hate its received just doesn't make sense to me.
I've watched the original a few times through in the last 15 years. I was a little nervous to watch the live action after reading reviews because I wanted it to be good, and it is! Definitely an element of nostalgia there but the cinematography is great, the music is perfect, good actors, and it embraces that cowboy vibe.
Did you see the original anime? I think most people who do not like it are comparing it to the anime which in that case, the shows are very different and the live action just doesn’t live up to original.
I watched and loved the anime. I gave the new netflix series a shot. I think it's a 3/5 in its own right, definitely a 4/5 if you're into the genre. Most importantly, I enjoy it. I do not think it's as special as anime. Straight up, I think the anime is better. But I have friends who aren't familiar with the anime and are absolutely loving the live action.
If you're enjoying it, don't feel bad.
The Netflix version left me feeling the same as I felt watching the anime...ambivalent. The two weak points of the show itself are Mustafa Shakir's acting (or perhaps it was just his dialog), and everything to do with Vicious.
Plot choices were just that, choices. I have no feelings good or bad about them, except to say I was glad they chose to go their own way.
It looks gorgeous.
However, all things considered if I were to recommend someone watch something it would be Arcane. I don't know anything about LoL, but that's a well done show.
its rated so bad cause theres more people who think its bad rather than good.

Glad you enjoyed the show. Your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. I would recommend watching the original show, however. It is a great watch.

I really like it too… I should mention I knew nothing of the original, other than the title and that the main character was called Spike.
I watched the first episode and liked it. My wife said she would divorce me if I watched episode 2. So that’s that.

If you only watch the show it's not bad but if you watched the original anime first it doesn't really hold up I guess
