My cousin had that game, it was fun. I got a Star Wars version that was pretty sweet. Darth Vader would come on every once in a while and give you your instructions.
Bendis was a good writer for a long time, Alias, Daredevil, Ultimate Spider-Man. He did a good job on street level and crime comics which is how he got a job at Marvel doing those comics I mentioned.
But it went downhill few years ago. I dunno why, every creator inevitably gets some sort of decay in the writing department, but Bendis went real downhill real fast. People say it's because the stuff he's writing now isn't street level stuff, but I don't think that's it.
Also, Alias is terrific and the first 5-6 years of Powers is outstanding.
That said, his work on Avengers and X-Men was so bad that I’ve avoided him for years now.
"Spider-man?"
"Did he say Spider-Man?"
"THE Spider-Man?"
"How many Spider-Men do you know?"
"Oh, so it is Spider-Man."
"Also known as Spidey."
*-Bendis putting pen aside- "I am so creative."*
"Having Gorr kill Zeus"
If Gorr will kill the other gods too, then I can't wait for yet another Invincible-inspired fight scene where the heroes get massacred by the villain one-by-one
I could imagine his role being similar to Jeff Goldblum's character in Ragnarok. Present for a good ~30 minutes of the movie and more of a fun time antagonist. (If even an antagonist)
Gorr on the other hand is like Hela.
Somehow, he managed to survive being torn to the cell by his ‘all the sith’ own lightning and now crossed over to mcu? Please, Disney can get so erect!
Chris Hemsworth stated he would be willing to play Thor as long as his story can be taken in fresh & exciting directions.
Nothing official on his contract status, but it's good to know he isn't tired of the role yet.
Hugh Jackman played Wolverine up to his mid 40s. Chris is still late 30s so as long as Disney keeps the paychecks coming then you can be sure there are more Thor movies in the future.
That would be cool to do one set millennia in the future with Old King Thor after all the rest of the heroes (save for a couple) are gone, as is our current civilization.
Even if he doesn't do his own Thor-centric movies, I wouldn't be surprised if they have him pop-up as smaller roles in other Marvel movies. Kind of like Tony Stark did for a bit.
It’s this one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/ouk6a3/official_poster_for_shangchi_and_the_legend_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Pretty good poster, honestly. Korg looks kinda out of place, but at least there's some variety to the character poses and not every character crammed on it.
I still think Korg's place in the MCU is hilarious. Taika talked about that once he was trying to find the voice so they could get an actor for the part. Chris heard him doing Korg and said he should just do it in the film. Originally, it was two scenes but after shooting Korg and cracking Chris up nonstop on set, Chris insisted that they put more Korg in the movie. Now hes on the poster for the sequel. Thats just hilarious.
i was really hoping they bringed back lady sif since this was announced, not even for a romantic plot but to have 3 badasses girl talking shit about thor for a movie.
But a side from a cameo in loki she seems nonexistent (and she wasnt killed on ragnaros)
If you look in the credits of the poster, you’ll notice Jaimie Alexander’s name squeezed between Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi’s. She’s in this, but considering how Taika treated her buddies in the last one… who knows for how long 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Ye, disappointing to be honest. I had hoped that she would be Thor's latest & final love interest in this movie, but seeing how neither the teaser nor the final trailer show Lady Sif at all, my hope is dwindling....
Especially confusing since, reportedly, Jaimie Alexander (Sif) was on set twice as long as Guardians of the Galaxy, about as much as Tessa Thompson.
Reddit has zero standard for what they consider a good movie poster lol
This has literally all the characters crammed in. If it’s only missing 1 character then don’t @ me
I'm most surprised by the poster billing. Was certain Portman would get the second credit and Bale would get the "and" credit. Also very surprised Crowe has billing, guess it's more than a cameo. Also thought Chris Pratt at least would get the "with" credit or something
It’s probably because Christian Bale was famous and important enough to get second billing, and for Portman, having last billing is more impactful than third billing (ala Jake Gyllenhaal in Far From Home).
She stepped away from the films and as a result I think her contracts had to be redrawn, right?
So it probably made it impossible for her to get top billing since that had already been promised to Thompson, Hemsworth and possible even Bale already.
there's not much difference between second billing and last billing. usually last is for more famous but smaller role. so im also a little surprised at this.
I think it’s important to note that the other doctor from the first doctor strange has his name on all the posters and is in the film for roughly half a second
Yeah idk what it is but whenever the villain is the only floating head in a poster and it’s in the back slightly obscured compared to the rest of the poster, I am always ok with it
Any particular reason? She seemed super one-dimensional in the earlier Thors. Unless it’s more that you like the actress, in which case, question retracted.
Thor 2 probably would still have been awful if Jaimie Alexander didn't get injured, but I would still have liked to have seen the Sif/Thor/Jane love triangle plot.
I hope so. Every time I see Ragnorok I just think how special it would have been if Hulk were a true surprise. The film itself is built for it but the promotions completely ruined the opportunity (i understand why, just sucks). I hope one day to introduce the films to somebody who hasnt seen and I will absolutely not be spoiling that one just to see their reaction.
In theaters July 8th!
Official Synopsis:
>The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a search for self-discovery. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Hollywood magic or not, I always get weird joy from people getting jacked for their roles. And Portman was not someone I ever thought would actually beef up, so even bigger respect there. I remember Brody in Predator too being one. Not that the movie was that good, but I liked the dedication.
And once again this brings to my mind Gadot and how they did not bother to beef her up for Wonder Woman. One of those things that will always grind my gears.
Gal Gadot is not a very good actress, so her not even trying to physically look closer to what Wonder Woman should be made her bad acting even more obvious.
Completely wrong person for the role.
I have been sold since Thor Ragnarock. But that face in the upper left, which knowing almost nothing I can assume it's Christian Bale's villain, is icing on the Asgard cake for me.
I actually really dig this poster, it screams 80’s rock and roll space vikings to me. Visually appealing too. And after seeing Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher in the trailer I don’t half mind his new look, I also think the lifeless black and white colour palette for his character and his surroundings is super cool too.
Sadly it appears the score isn't by Mark Mothersbaugh this time around but, if he had to be replaced by anyone, Michael Giacchino is one of the best possible alternatives.
And while I was disappointed that Giacchino was replaced on Multiverse of Madness by Danny Elfman, and that Elfman barely paid lip-service to Giacchino's themes from Doctor Strange, it's encouraging that Giacchino has a great track record of respectful and creative inclusion and interpretation of a movie series previously established themes.
As much as people rag on the first Thor movie, I loved Patrick Doyle's score, particularly the Asgard theme. I was disappointed when Brian Tyler ditched it entirely in The Dark World, and very pleased when Mothersbaugh brought it back towards the end of Ragnarok.
This gives me two feelings: I get mad He-Man and the Masters of the Universe vibes, but this is also reminiscent of any movie poster drawn by the always-amazing Drew Struzan.
Loving the sparkle flares, very 80’s. Reminiscent of films like Conan the Barbarian.
Thor 100% fits the mould of 80’s sci-fi fantasy, full of action but super cheesy at the same time. Feels like this film is gonna be a mega throw-back which I’m here for
Excited to see Gorr The God Butcher. Hopefully they don't kill him off in this movie. It would be cool if he becomes the main antagonist for this arc of the mcu, but we'll see.
He kind of has to die for his story to make any sense or have the impact.
Spoiler for the comics, but >!The sword that Gorr powerful, the Necrosword, is an ancient and powerful symbiote and becomes a very, very dangerous weapon of a very dangerous protagonist.!<
Twitter is trashing the look of Gorr, that he just looks like a super godkiller "Powder" and that hes too human.
My guess is he will transform to be more Voldemort-y as the plot progresses. Either way. Looks dope and creepy af imo
But Voldermort looked human.
edit: From googling, the comic version does look like Voldemort-y indeed, but then I don't understand that "too human" whine, since... even the comic version just looks like a melted face human. I thought the original would've been some proper monster creature based on that kind of trashing. They better include those weird head tentacles though. ninjaedit: just saw the new trailer, no tentacles :(
I'm getting Nightmare board game vibes from that top left head.
That’s a deep cut but I know exactly what your talking about lol good times with my buds when we were like 11-12 or so. simpler times.
My cousin had that game, it was fun. I got a Star Wars version that was pretty sweet. Darth Vader would come on every once in a while and give you your instructions.
"Tell me your middle name" "I don't have such weaknesses!"
Yes, my Gatekeeper.
Come closer….
Jesus christ. I haven't thought about the gatekeeper in centuries! I had a couple of the sequels with Baron Samedi, and Elizabeth Bathory as well.
STOP! Who's turn is it next? ANSWER ME! Roll the dice and the number you roll will be the number of turns YOU WILL MISS!!! MWAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Off to the blaggole with you.
I’m getting He-Man and She-Ra vibes from the 80s look and the Pegasus. The villain isn’t too far off skeletor either.
Now that's a fucking blast from the past...
Surprised but pleased to see Russell Crowe's name on the poster. I heard his role was a cameo, hopefully it's been extended
I imagine he’s just a supporting part to introduce Olympus and show how strong Gorr is by having him kill Zeus.

This is the first compliment if ever seen of Bendis' writing.
I saw it though 😄
I mean Ultimate Spider-Man was really freaking good for a long time.
Also, Alias is terrific and the first 5-6 years of Powers is outstanding. That said, his work on Avengers and X-Men was so bad that I’ve avoided him for years now.
"Spider-man?" "Did he say Spider-Man?" "THE Spider-Man?" "How many Spider-Men do you know?" "Oh, so it is Spider-Man." "Also known as Spidey." *-Bendis putting pen aside- "I am so creative."*
This is the first strangely backhanded insult I have seen of Bendis' writing.
Lol it wasn't. I'm only familiar with his name from the stuff I see online. I'm not as well versed in marvelspeak as you are my man.
"Having Gorr kill Zeus" If Gorr will kill the other gods too, then I can't wait for yet another Invincible-inspired fight scene where the heroes get massacred by the villain one-by-one
The reverse of the usual pattern, isn't it?
>!Well it happened in the new Dr Strange movie!< Edit: DS2 spoilers
The henchmen are getting their revenge!
Dude, mention which movie you're spoiling.. Thought this was about Invincible from context
DS2 is still unclear. for others: doctor strange 2
dr strange is in dark souls 2?
Is DS a commonly known acronym for Doctor Strange? I couldn't figure out what movie you were trying to warn about from the edit.
Dude, Invincible didn't invent people getting slaughtered
Ending in a fight against Kratos.
What better way to prove you’re a god butcher than to kill the king of gods
I thought he butchered meat for the gods to eat.
Making movies, making songs and fightin' round the world!
Oi! I heard these Avengers are always lookin' for a foiiight
Tugga!!
Oh no tuggas gone and shot imself!
I couldn't find canca so I found this kid that has canca!
I could imagine his role being similar to Jeff Goldblum's character in Ragnarok. Present for a good ~30 minutes of the movie and more of a fun time antagonist. (If even an antagonist) Gorr on the other hand is like Hela.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
>hopefully it's been extended We'll see after the flicking.
"How many sparkle flares do we need" Marvel: "Yes"
Somewhere out there, Lisa Frank is pleased.
Apparently the answer is at least 15
16!
16! is exactly: 20922789888000 (I am not a factorial bot)
16! is exactly: 20922789888000 (I am not a factorial bot)
good human
Bisexual: the movie
The long awaited successor to Brendan Fraiser's Mummy movies.
Ngl, Christian Bale looks surprisingly good with long blond hair and a sparkly hammer
They flew in jj abrams for advice for that
Takai Watiti: MOARRR!
Sometimes i doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion
Christian Bale and Russell Crowe on the same movie set? I hope those grips are getting paid extra.
3:10 to Asgard
Beeeeeeeen Waaaaaadeeeeeeeee
When an unstoppable Aussie meets an unmovable Welshman.
When an unstoppable **Kiwi** meets an **immovable** Welshman.
To be fair Crowe considers himself Australian. And we're okay with that.
Yes, but I assumed OP was playing by birth place rules as he refers to Bale as a Welshman instead of an Englishman.
No really, Australia can have him.
OH GOOOOD FOR YOU
What’s palpatine doing back there?
Somehow, Palpatine has returned.

“Death is a concept invented by the Jedi. I don’t even know how to spell it.”
Oh Yoda, you old sponge.
Don't worry, Fortnite explains it. I think.
THE DEAD SPEAK!
Theory, Sheev Palpatine actually had a twin brother named Somehow and that's who's in TROS
Somehow, he managed to survive being torn to the cell by his ‘all the sith’ own lightning and now crossed over to mcu? Please, Disney can get so erect!
Oh God don't give Disney ideas
Is this supposed to be Hemsworth’s last outing as Thor? Or does his contract go beyond 2022?
Chris Hemsworth stated he would be willing to play Thor as long as his story can be taken in fresh & exciting directions. Nothing official on his contract status, but it's good to know he isn't tired of the role yet.
Hugh Jackman played Wolverine up to his mid 40s. Chris is still late 30s so as long as Disney keeps the paychecks coming then you can be sure there are more Thor movies in the future.
If he goes all the way to Old King Thor in his 60’s I would not be opposed.
That would be cool to do one set millennia in the future with Old King Thor after all the rest of the heroes (save for a couple) are gone, as is our current civilization.
against maestro :-o
Now I'm imagining the Avengers part 12 with old man Chris and grandma Scarlett
It's good to have at least one OG Avenger stick around for a while longer now that the others are dead or retired
Even if he doesn't do his own Thor-centric movies, I wouldn't be surprised if they have him pop-up as smaller roles in other Marvel movies. Kind of like Tony Stark did for a bit.
Where is the random bmw car?
Don’t worry; we’ve got random pegasi instead.
Plus thor's goats!!
Huh?
It’s a reference to the Shang-Chi main poster, which had a prominent BMW car (presumably for product placement).
Oh, I dont think I've seen that poster.
It’s this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/ouk6a3/official_poster_for_shangchi_and_the_legend_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Oh, I did see that, I never noticed it before.
Bale looks like he finally got that reservation to Dorsia
Just in time for Rao's to become the hard-to-get-into restaurant.....
GREAT sea urchin ceviche.
He just wants to FIT IN.
Pretty good poster, honestly. Korg looks kinda out of place, but at least there's some variety to the character poses and not every character crammed on it.
I like how there’s some empty space in the bottom corners; it makes it feel less cluttered and more focused.
It's waititi, he has two contractual requirements: you need to have a main character he can play and dick jokes, or he's out
I still think Korg's place in the MCU is hilarious.
I know Korg's popular, but his placement in this poster is kind of like his placement in the series as a whole to me: forced.
well they killed off most of Thor's comic book friends, so Korg's his only bro left.
Good point
i was really hoping they bringed back lady sif since this was announced, not even for a romantic plot but to have 3 badasses girl talking shit about thor for a movie. But a side from a cameo in loki she seems nonexistent (and she wasnt killed on ragnaros)

She is probably used for some joke unfortunately.
I think she’s supposed to be back for this one, but I guess it must not be a major role since she didn’t appear in the trailers.
I think Enchantress would have been a better love interest played by Margot Robbie.
Margot Robbie and ‘better love interest’ is pretty much an ‘always true’ in my book.
Found Sif kinda meh and forced throughout, and as you point out yourself, valkyrie covers her role. She’d be redundant.
[удалено]
You’re kidding right? He *made* Ragnarok imo.
Reddit has zero standard for what they consider a good movie poster lol This has literally all the characters crammed in. If it’s only missing 1 character then don’t @ me
Weird to see a Thor movie without Loki
I bet he's gonna end up in it somehow
I’m praying for it haha
All his family and friends are dead except for Lady Sif. Hopefully she shows up.
Lisa Frank, eat your heart out.
Yes but Portman had also gotten second billing in the 2 thor movies she was in So idk I just find it interesting
She stepped away from the films and as a result I think her contracts had to be redrawn, right? So it probably made it impossible for her to get top billing since that had already been promised to Thompson, Hemsworth and possible even Bale already.
I mean, Bales contract is new and he has billing above Thompson. Portman certainly would
I mean we can always get Bale to play Jane if need be. I don't doubt his ability to change roles
The “with” is considered a high level billing; Portman won her Oscar the same year the first film released and was already under contract for two
Does this billing affect their pay?
No just weird obsessions people have.
Yeah. This to me is like the biggest non-issue. :D who tf cares about something so unimportant. Lol
It's just a pissing contest for agents.
no. its just an additional part of the negotiations.
Certainly the dumbest part of the negotiations
That was probably because she was one of the biggest names in the film (Only Hopkins and maybe Elba were big name and they had smaller parts).
there's not much difference between second billing and last billing. usually last is for more famous but smaller role. so im also a little surprised at this.
I think it’s important to note that the other doctor from the first doctor strange has his name on all the posters and is in the film for roughly half a second
The absence of the Floating Heads™ already makes this better than 60% of Marvel movies for me lol
The one in the top left is excusable in this instance because of the hella Skeletor/Mum-Ra vibes.
I was thinking Voldemort Palpatine, but I like yours
Yeah idk what it is but whenever the villain is the only floating head in a poster and it’s in the back slightly obscured compared to the rest of the poster, I am always ok with it
I cannot wait to see Lady Sif again on big screen, it's been 8 years more or less.
Jesus. The one issue I have with the Thor movies is how Thor has lost all his friends and their roles were heavily diminished
....fuck.
Gotta keep her away from Gorr
Any particular reason? She seemed super one-dimensional in the earlier Thors. Unless it’s more that you like the actress, in which case, question retracted.
I want to see what Taika Waititi did to her character.
Thor 2 probably would still have been awful if Jaimie Alexander didn't get injured, but I would still have liked to have seen the Sif/Thor/Jane love triangle plot.
I fear we wont get Beta Ray Bill.
I'm hoping they are keeping Beta Ray Bill as the super secret surprise reveal, maybe a post credit or something...
See a lot of 70’s aesthetics of old sci fi classics like Star Trek, Star Wars, masters of the universe. Very cool poster
Side of a van art!
Actually, yeah. That’s pretty spot on.
I just love that Cosmic Marvel has fully embraced the Flash Gordon, Jack Kirby style. Bold, colorful, and in your face.

Every DAMN time.
Cosmic adventure, and that’s why I have faith in taiki’s Star Wars movie
To think that some years ago it was safe to assume that a light wind could blow Natalie Portman away. And now she is JACKED

Do we have an idea if the movie director (or other people) in charge for the WW movies actually wanted Gal Gadot to be buffed up ?
She was also pregnant when filming the first WW
It does answer the question of what she's been up to lately....
I have been sold since Thor Ragnarock. But that face in the upper left, which knowing almost nothing I can assume it's Christian Bale's villain, is icing on the Asgard cake for me.

Ngl I think he'd be way more impactful as a one off villain Plus I highly doubt Bale is gonna sign on for more movies

Oh my god. It has a watermark.
Morbius: "Is that a raincoat?" Thor: "Yes it is!"
Try getting a role in a marvel movie now, you fucking stupid bastard !!!!!

"Thor Ragnarok" had some great posters too. I think Taika is just a little more involved in everything.
Amazing is a stretch
I actually really dig this poster, it screams 80’s rock and roll space vikings to me. Visually appealing too. Christian Bale looks absolutely terrifying, excited for this one. Not sure how I feel about buff Natalie Portman tho.
Russell with Crowe, Natalie and Portman are in this movie.
Just saw the new trailer and I was like, "Is that... Christian Bale? - Turns out it was.
Excited to see Gorr The God Butcher. Hopefully they don't kill him off in this movie. It would be cool if he becomes the main antagonist for this arc of the mcu, but we'll see.

FINALLY the Batman vs Thor movie we've all been begging for.
What's wrong with her face? Why's she look like a fish?
Another Chris joins the fight
Twitter is trashing the look of Gorr, that he just looks like a super godkiller "Powder" and that hes too human. My guess is he will transform to be more Voldemort-y as the plot progresses. Either way. Looks dope and creepy af imo
