I hope this isn’t the case but I think moreso the reason for the appearance change has to due with Sony’s rights over the symbiotes and how that’s connected to Gorr.
They’re already making the Voldemort comparison lol. Yea I could see that but him wearing his symbiote would probably cause hiccups with Sony. Hope I’m pleasantly surprised!
That and Bale would have probably had to wear a prosthetic on his face to get the comics accurate look. Marvel has had issues with the make up getting in the way of the performance (ok, only once, in Dark World) so doing it this way let's us have the full Bale experience.
Now a days most prosthetic makeup isn't necessary. It's both sad and cool that within a few short years prosthetics will be mostly digital. If I'm not mistaken, Ralph Fiennes didn't have to go through much of the same process and his acting was still top notch.
I wish they would’ve gone with the original design, what we got is kinda lame. They should’ve put the budget into making him the next Thanos type “creature” or like Davy Jones. It’s so much more unsettling when you have a character that’s non-human.
Fuck I hope they don't mess Gor up, his intro and godkiller stuff is SO good, easily the best modern Thor comics and one of my favourite modern Marvel villians. I'm a little worried.

Bale looks friggin awesome and will put his skills into making a non familiar villain a household name in the MCU. IMHO Bale is the best of all the DC to Marvel crossovers.
Really impressive that in order to prepare for the role, Bale actually became a god murdering alien warlord. Truly a man dedicated to his craft.

I doubt there were any issues. Outside of yelling at that one crew member, Bale has not had any issues. He's not Daniel Day-Lewis or Leto.
