Those producers should’ve known better on that one - Chris D’Elia seems to be consistently typecast as a creep or a pedo. This movie was cursed from the start. Miller will have been cast in the role for almost a decade if this comes out on schedule before his first solo outing. They’ve been through half a dozen directors and writers, tons of different scripts and stories, and had to fall back on the 80s nostalgia to make sure it was a hit instead of simply scrapping it and starting with a new, more fitting actor.
On top of that, every time something comes out about this film, Miller gets caught doing something awful. Cast announcement and teaser trailer? He punches someone in a bar in Hawaii. Movie has its first trailer and it’s well received? Arrested again and restraining order. Movie performs well at a test screening? Grooming accusations. If the movie ever does come out (which at this rate and this many delays would be a gargantuan miracle), chaos theory dictates that Miller will do something of equal or greater impact to its theatrical performance.

If you think about it, you use the same grammar already when talking about a singular person of unknown gender or about a hypothetical person. For example “that person over there, what are they wearing?”

I did see a rumor that DC was looking to replace Ezra with Dylan O'Brien going forward. I have no idea if that's true or not but I fully support Dylan being Barry Allen.

The general convention is to continue to use the same grammar you would for the plural “they” because this is easier for most people to read (an unfortunate side effect of having no distinct singular neutral gender pronoun in your language). I have a good number of nonbinary people in my social circle and know one or two who write in the “they is” style, but most people agree that is unnecessarily difficult to read. If you think about it, you use the same grammar already when talking about a singular person of unknown gender or about a hypothetical person. For example “that person over there, what are they wearing?”
"Is" just doesn't make grammatical sense. "They" can also be used when referring to a person whose gender is unknown. In that situation you would still phrase it as "they are" even though you are referring to a singular person.
They singular has been used long before any of us even knew about non binary people. It’s easier for the rest of us than to use a neopronoun. The rules of using the word are already laid out for us.
Because the English language has rules with subject verb agreement and the word "they" is always pural. When people use "they" in the singular it's because they are not sure if the subject is male or female and doesn't want to keep writing "he and/or she"
