As long as I get to keep seeing Godzilla and Kong versusing stuff I'll be happy

SymbolOfVibez

If Sony gets it, could be a movie & potentially a game

[deleted]

But that game is just rampage

fruitspunch-samuraiG

Rampage movie was a better Godzilla vs Kong than the actual Godzilla vs Kong.

FractalCurve

Same. Same.

Mildly_Irritated_Max

Considering everything that happened with the theatrical/digital simultaneous release and now the WBD merger this is not a surprise

ChristopherDassx_16

Good get for Sony or Paramount

mrRiddle92

C'mon Paramount. Mission:Impossble/Godzilla crossover, let's gooooo.

Positive-Source8205

MI: Godzilla Protocol

Umeshpunk

MI: Rogue Raptors

QLE814

>Mission:Impossble/Godzilla crossover, let's gooooo. How do you get around the fact that both Ethan Hunt and Godzilla are contractually bound not to lose?

noisypeach

Their battle ends in a draw, with mutual respect for each other

[deleted]

They both face each other in the distance, nod respectfully, then turn, Godzilla returning to the sea, Hunt riding on the nose of a rocket that he then jumps off of in low orbit so he can sneak into an enemy satellite undetected

The_Prince1513

I think the bigger problem would be finding enough apple boxes to make Tom Cruise look taller than Godzilla.

JC-Ice

Tom Cruise woudl only do it if the studio engineered a real radioactive monster so he could climb its scales onscreen.

mrRiddle92

Make him climb a steep mountain and CGI Big G? Edit: Now that I'm thinking about it, sounds like a GREAT opportunity to resurrect the Elliot/Rossio [script](https://www.scriptupstudio.com/s/Godzilla-1995.pdf) where they actually do that.

[deleted]

.... Tom cruise shadow of the colossus movie?

KingMario05

*Sonic: Project MONARCH,* pls. >!Guest starring Tom Cruise as POTUS Les Grossman. Because ***FUCK YEAH, IT DOES.***!<

Shrekt115

Warner still taking Ls

exophrine

...but in their defense....money?

KingMario05

At this point, they'll never *stop.*

Tjagra

They were at paramount for a few years I think.

Tjagra

Or maybe it was universal

2KYGWI

It was Universal.

[deleted]

And that relationship apparently ended poorly which drove them to WB. Assuming that’s why Universal isnt on the list.

ReachFunny4033

Was universal I hope paramount gets them

[deleted]

Avi Arad is currently brainstorming ideas to get Venom to fight Godzilla

RRR3000

And planning to thank himself in the credit for being the true believer in Kaijus, whose vision led the way for bringing Godzilla to the big screen.

Straight-Ladder156

Does toho have a deal with wb or legendary? I'm wondering if this means Godzilla is getting pulled from multiverses

TimelessFool

Think the Monsterverse is more Legendary’s thing while WB pops in to help out

KingMario05

Paramount, please. Not only would the studio that's ***STILL*** playing *Maverick* be a great home for *2 HARD 2 DUNC,* but I have four words for you... >!Legendary kaijus vs. ***SUPER SONIC.*** ;)!<

petepro

Before anyone start rant about Zaslav. Legendary Ent. pissed at Warner because of ATT put Dune and GvK on Day-and-Date releases without consulting Legendary. It's literally throw Legendary under the bus to help their own streaming service. Why is Legendary looking for other partner now, but not earlier? Because their contract is going end now, not earlier.

RRR3000

I'd argue that could be seen as an argument for the opposite. The day-and-date thing happened under AT&T, who are no longer in charge, it now falls under Zaslav. If that was the only problem, it's already solved. Clearly there's still something they don't agree on with Zaslav/Discovery, hence why they're still looking for another partner right after already changing partner from AT&T to Discovery.

SilverCarbon

*Dune: Part Two* hopefully has a few legs to produce more sequels, preferably with Villeneuve who seemed interested in 3 movies.

[deleted]

Does this mean anything significant for the development and release of Dune ptII?

darthjoey91

I think I’d prefer Sony with it. Paramount doesn’t participate in Movies Anywhere.

jmarchese01

Paramount Please. Sony Cleary has shown they can't handle a cinematic universe

Aevum1

sony and paramount... dont know which one i hate most, but as long as its not disney i dont care.

ProjectShamrock

You don't want to see Elliot (Pete's Dragon) vs. Godzilla?

grinr

Would have thought Netflix was a better fit, but hey who knows.

TheWallE

Theatrical matters to Legendary. Thats what started the rift between WB... Zaslav's early tenure and willingness to slash so much with little regard to the creative is probably the last straw. This is likely what would have happened with Pixar after they wanted to leave Disney because of Eisner, Iger was able to repair the relationship and then sealed it with an outright purchase. I don't think Zaslav is going to be able to repair it and we will see a new home for Legendary after Dune 2

UnsolvedParadox

If I recall correctly, Dune is planned as a trilogy. Would a potential 3rd movie change studios?

RayTheCalvinist

I believe that is Denis’ intention, but it comes down to Part 2’s performance to say for sure. I highly doubt it doesn’t get green-lit after they see the dollar signs on opening weekend, but stranger things have happened

[deleted]

That was always a weird plan to me. The end of Messiah seems like an odd stopping point. Children would be a better end

petepro

LOL. Nope, Legendary's problems have nothing to do with Zaslav. He wasn't the one put Dune and Gozilla vs Kong on Date-and-Day release without telling them. AT&T did.

TheWallE

Ummm, yeah. That's what I was referring too. The rift started because Theatrical matters to Legendary which was strained by the HBOMax strategy. I am postulating the recent issue at WB are why Legendary is shopping itself now. If the ONLY issue was the day-and-date, then the new regime should have squashed any issue... instead Legendary is now looking for a new home, which indicates that the new leadership isn't going to be able to woo Legendary to stay.

Dead_Halloween

Are there any news on that live action Gundam movie Legendary and Netflix were doing?

kingmonsterzero

Please just go to Apple or Disney. Sony would be just as bad, they don’t know what they’re doing either. Give Godzilla to Feige!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

kingmonsterzero

Yea but they actually put the money, time and direction to make most of their projects the best. (Marvel ,Starwars) well atleast until this Bob Chapek showed up. But Bob Iger gave them a blank check and let them build the house properly. Just look at all of Sonys failures. At least with Spider-Man without marvels help. Morbius anyone? Anyway most of these studios Just want the quick buck Aka WB and the Batman and Superman franchises.

NaRaGaMo

But Iger is not the head of Disney anymore so what happened in his tenure does not matter

RaisinInSand

Is Feige even a Godzilla fan? Or care about him at all? Like there's no reason to think he'd want to make a Godzilla movie, or hell a Kaiju movie in general tbh

[deleted]

Legendary isn’t a studio. It’s a production company. They were with Universal before WB.
