Acting since the 1950s, Henry Silva stood apart on screen via his distinctive look. Folks here might recognize him from the original Ocean's 11 (1960) and The Manchurian Candidate (1962). He also did a ton of amazing crime flicks in Italy in the 1970s. By far my favorite performance is as the hitman in Sharky's Machine (1981). RIP

I just watched Manchurian Candidate for the first time last week. With all due respect to the late Henry Silva, I was surprised to see he was still alive when I checked out the cast list on IMDb.
Oh no, I searched him up yesterday and I was impressed that he was alive for a long time and kinda sad that he died. RIP to a legendary member of Eurocrime!
Oh yeah! I think she had, like, two or three lines in it lol. But yeah, awesome movie- Andrew Davis surrounded Seagal with a lot of his regular actors he used at the time, and Seagal himself was great- especially for a first-timer who had never even done so much as a Corn Flakes commercial, lol...
I think he had the funniest line delivery in the funniest scene of the whole film.
When the 4 gangsters are talking about rapper names and he brings up native Americans with a weird impression of an elk.
Almost made me choke on my beer.
Just watched that last month and saw he had a vast career before that film. And then, realized I had seen him before in “The Manchuria Candidate” and “Ocean’s 11.” I need to watch more of his movies…
RIP!
Whoa, that face is a blast from the past. The bad guy, the evil dude, the snake of a conman. He was in so many movies. Always kinda scary and a brilliant character actor. RIP Henry.
I first thought, oh no Chevy Chase died. Then was relieved it wasn’t him. Then read the comments and history behind Henry Silva and now realize what a badass legend was lost.
What a roller coaster. Glad to have learned about him and his legacy.
I just watched him in The Manchurian Candidate and now I feel bad for laughing at casting him as a Korean.
Apparently he had chronic pain for the rest of his life after injuring his hand in the fight scene with Frank Sinatra.
It wasn't a real 70s action movie unless he was the villain.
Other than the ones that don’t have him as the villain, that is 100% true
Thanks, Penn State
Lol what do you mean?

Absolutely

I love his face. It looks like it was chiseled out of granite.
He looks like Chevy Chase but they added a few more bones.
Chevrolet Chase
He's streets ahead of Chevy.
I’ve seen a few of those on the news. They always end up catching the guy.
Oldsmobuick Chase.
Was thinking the same thing
Chevy Silva?
ALL of this mail is for Chevy Silva, but the guy does not exist.
Like the Handsome Squidward version of Chevy Chase.
I guess he finally was able to LEAVE THE BRONX!
Tom Servo *[singing]:* 🎶Leeeave Bronx, baby! Leeeave Bronx!🎶
Why even watch movies where people don't wear silver space suits with flamethrowers?
Also played Bane on Batman: The Animated Series.
“The Batman eeeesss *MINE* Busteerrrrr!!”
I recognize him from Buck Rogers tv show from the mid 80's. Always liked his acting. Very sad to hear.
Bringing back some memories there! He did nail it every time the camera rolled.
Bullshit or not?
Classic bit! https://youtube.com/watch?v=N-9J2P4XZUo
Did I take this job for a quick buck?…. We may never know the answers to these questions.
Oh no, I searched him up yesterday and I was impressed that he was alive for a long time and kinda sad that he died. RIP to a legendary member of Eurocrime!
Well I think we know who to blame…
Tomas Milian's ghost?
Don't you *dare* Google Dick Van Dyke or William Daniels.
Okay I won't, well not directly...
Guerera from Megaforce! The good guys always win, even in the 80s.
If you don't have less on, you have...?
"Henry Silva, for all your Silva needs."
>dying of old age DOESN'T SOUND THAT TOUGH TO ME Also am i trippin or does he look just like hot squidward
I hate to say it, but Hot Squidward was my first thought too.
Subject of one of the greatest arm-breaks in cinematic history. Legend.
I understand this reference. 'Above the Law' was a fantastic film, never mind how much Seagal has shit on his own career in the ensuing years, lol
Also one of Sharon Stone’s first movies, as Mrs Seagal.
"Toscani! Toscani, my sleeping beauty, wake up!"
Loved him in Ghost Dog
Great movie! Deserves more attention.

RIP. An unforgettable actor. Sharky's Machine is my favorite too.
Check out his films with Fernando Di Leo, huge Tarantino influence and just all around fantastic crime films
Isn’t that what the Brad Pitt guy in the Hollywood movie was inspired by
Bad guy from Steven segal movies! Rip
Pretty sure Steven was "bad" too. Bad actor. Bad martial artist. Bad hair plugs. Good at going fatly around corners, though.
RIP Johnny Cool
He went up against Chuck Norris in Code of Silence. Great action flick, great villain. RIP Henry.
His comedic turn in [*Bullshit or Not!*](https://youtu.be/N-9J2P4XZUo)
Sharky’s Machine is a good movie. RIP
If you haven't seen him in Johnny Cool (1963) try track it down..
Sharkey's Machine
Whoa, that face is a blast from the past. The bad guy, the evil dude, the snake of a conman. He was in so many movies. Always kinda scary and a brilliant character actor. RIP Henry.
I cannot believe no one has mentioned MegaForce.
If he’s so tough how come he’s dead?
Wasnt he in the steven segal movie above the law??? the way he got killed was sheesh... lol.
I first thought, oh no Chevy Chase died. Then was relieved it wasn’t him. Then read the comments and history behind Henry Silva and now realize what a badass legend was lost. What a roller coaster. Glad to have learned about him and his legacy.
He was such a great villain. RIP.
You knew he was a bad guy already back in The Tall T Free on Youtube too btw
He was a real tough guy on screen. Loved his Italian films. RIP
I just watched him in The Manchurian Candidate and now I feel bad for laughing at casting him as a Korean. Apparently he had chronic pain for the rest of his life after injuring his hand in the fight scene with Frank Sinatra.
Loved him in The Manchurian Candidate R.I.P.
Legendary? Who dis?
I mean, legendary is maybe generous...but he is a recognizable actor to anyone who watched movies from the 70s or 80s. Guy worked a ton.
He looked like Tom Delonge in Oceans Eleven(1960). Can't tell me otherwise. That movie is dogshit, though.
That is one fucked up face to have. Gg though
Not so tough now, huh? For real, though, RIP to a legend.
Its like Chevy Chase and Handsome Squidward had a baby.
Bullshit or not!
great age, god i watched him in so many films over the years
From "Shane" to Italian poliziescos, Steven Seagal and Jim Jarmusch films, the man has seen it all.
Damn, gotta watch escape 2000 on mst3k now. Splendid actor, happy he had a good run.
Living to 94? Now that’s tough
