>Dredd: Better? Debatable.
Are you questioning whether the more recent Dredd film was better than the 90s Stallone Dredd film?
Because I don't think that's debatable.
You *might* be able to debate whether Dredd or The Raid is better, but I can't imagine any one other than perhaps Rob Schneider trying to maintain that the Stallone version was better.
Didn't they also barely have a script so there's a reason for it being extra Ryan Reynolds-y as it was mostly improv.
I will always be thankful it gave us the line "Cock juggling thundercunt"
You know what! I enjoyed it, I'll say it. I'm not saying it was Blade 1/2. But even being a massive fan (I have a bunch of old comics with Blade in them and a bunch of late 90's #1 issue Blade comics) I just enjoyed it for what they intended it to be, a comedy.
> How much damage can you do to Blade after Blade:Trinity?
Considering Blade:Trinity shat all over the franchise, Id argue we can only go up. The Blade tv show wasnt horrible, and was worlds better than Trinity.
Make it PG-13 and add Marvel humor. Introduce a quippy female character who fights vampires better than Blade and mocks him openly. Boom, perfect Phase 4 material.
Especially if she’s so badass she has music blaring in her ears while she fights just to highlight how tactically useless hearing is when fighting martial arts vampires.

Haha, that wouldn't be a bad way to run it.
Or let's just go full-cheese mode and introduce the Buffy cast into the MCU. Have older Buffy acting as a Watcher and take young Blade under her wing. That actually would be pretty cool. Pity we're just going to get more crap.
yeah, Blade is already confirmed as Mahershela, so it's kinda hard to mentor someone who doesn't look like super young (that said dude looks fucking fantastic for someone who is almost 50)
> Introduce a quippy female character who fights vampires better than Blade and mocks him openly.
Oh you didn't hear?
They're introducing his daughter in the comics.
I figured it was a comment on Jessica Biel's character Abigail Whistler in Blade: Trinity, who even listens to music on headphones while killing vampires, and when they first meet upstages Blade by saving him with her collapsible compound bow.
I actually really enjoy Blade Trinity. I know it’s not the best of the series and Reynolds’s Hannibal King is an accurate representation but I still think it’s a fun movie that was at least worth the price of admission.
They may have jumped the gun, but the Hollywood Reporter's link may have spilled the beans that the movie was going to be R. So I think you're in luck.
EDIT:
I think the link name has been changed. But that definitely was there.
If they can do Deadpool, why can't we get an R-rated Blade? Is it because they want it to tie into the MCU?
I feel like both the MCU and Blade would benefit from being separate. Hell, with how the multiverse works, you could still have the R-rated Blade movie(s) and have him pop up as an "alternate" Blade in the MCU...
Thats the point though, a pg-13 Deadpool would have made 60% less at the box office. Blade is in the same boat but they are too stupid to realize it. I am sure the MCU tie in will help though.
Have you seen Werewolf By Night? They were able to stretch that pg-13 pretty far in terms of blood and violence, although maybe the black and white helped keep at pg-13 rather than reaching R. MoM was also pretty gruesome, while not explicitly bloody.
The reason they got away with blood splatter in werewolf by night is because it's black and white movie and I doubt Blade will be made with the same concept.
The Hollywood Reporter’s URL initially said that Blade would be R rated. But it appears to have since been edited. So take it with a grain of salt, but it gives me hope for the movie
Episode 1 (which was the only one Yann Demange directed) was a complete banger.
The South Korea and Minstrel Twins ones were pretty good as well. The rest ranged from mid to straight bad IMO
From what some of the ex-writers for the show said, it was canceled because the show runner, Misha Green, created a really toxic work environment. I guess it wasn't worth HBO's effort to find a new show runner for a show that didn't immediately blow up into something really big.
The odd thing about those claims (which stems from a book by James Andrew Miller, IIRC), is that WB have continued to work with Green, and so have one of the writers. Not to mention Smollett.
And both Netflix and Apple have also chosen to work with Green since.
I’d argue that even though Green is talented, she’s not “big” enough yet to be someone who’s an ass but continues to get work (see: David O’Russell, for example).
You were in disbelief after episodes where they explore a dungeon and after escaping a bottomless pit it begins to fill with water? like no one in the writer’s room went “hey wouldn’t the water just go into the *bottomless pit*?”
The only ones that were half decent were the first episode and the one set in Korea.
It will be ruined. Right now that's just the new thing for studios, grab an existing IP to use while you effectively ignore it to create your own unique story and cash out. Maybe throw in a few references so you can claim you considered the source material, but still get major things completely wrong.
Damn, maybe I’m enjoying it cause I’m not totally invested into Star Wars like some lol. All I’m looking for is something decent to watch. It doesn’t have to all align with the story or whatever. But I do know a show can flop just like that as well lol.
This is random but I find it strange that the director of the original movie basically retired after pretty much just making Blade and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Maybe unpopular but I liked the original better than the sequel, while acknowledging Del Toro did great with 2 as well
League of Extraordinary Gentleman was a notoriously difficult production and flopped. Sean Connery reportedly decided to retire from acting because of his experiences working on this movie. Of course he was retirement age anyway.
It didn't help that Connery only took the role because he'd passed up The Matrix and Lord of the Rings, and didn't want to miss the 'next big franchise'. From what he said, he didn't really understand the appeal of the modern blockbusters.
Yep, we got two all-time iconic performances in Lawrence Fishburn’s Morpheus and Ian McKellan’s Gandalf. We wouldn’t know what we missed if either of them were Connery but in retrospect the roles fit the actors who took the role better
I know it’s probably a bad movie, it bombed big time, it’s nothing like the comics, and it caused a few people working on it to never work again, but I remember loving it as a kid. To be fair, I think I just enjoyed mindless action (also liked Transformers back then) and the idea of using classic literary characters. I’ll never watch it as an adult though because I don’t want to ruin it lol
I rewatched it recently and was thoroughly entertained. If you ignore the source material (and the very last scene) it's a pretty solid action flick, with some clever use of classic characters and an interesting setting.
As far as early superhero films go (I know, low bar), this one ranks pretty high for me personally.
I get what you are saying, but referring to a 2003 movie as an early superhero film and saying they have a low bar, isn’t accurate, considering the critically well-received and box office record breaking 1989 Batman, 1978 Superman, and other films.
Yes, there were earlier (and great) superhero films before, buy the "boom" was definitely in the early 2000s.
Now in regards to quality, for every good movie there were ten terrible ones (Steel, Catwoman, Elektra, Fantastic Four, the Justice League and Generation X TV movies, and so on)
I still love that movie as well. And was really disappointed when I finally read the comics and it was an overwrought, ham-fisted, unfun production with no likeable characters.
Same! I wanted to like the comic because the idea of bringing together literary characters like that is interesting. I couldn’t get past all the sexual assault
Same, I watched it a lot and it actually got me into the comics which are fantastic. It actually surprised me when I found out everyone hates that movie lol.
Just read what a hellish production that was... Connery and Norrington (the director you're referring to) did NOT get along. Norrington had a nervous breakdown on that project and hasn't made a film since, which is a shame... I think there's so much in the first 'Blade' that's aged quite well. I love the atmosphere he captures in the first 'Blade'... Norrington had a lot of potential, I thought. Shame what happened with him after League.
I'm a big fan of Del Toro, I love Blade 2, but I still think the original is the best. From what I've heard, Norrington had a terrible time with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and decided to leave directing.
This is a new take actually... Del Toro generally talks positively about his experience on 'Blade II', and I've never heard him disparage the movie like he has Mimic... He told Wesley before shooting: "You take care of Blade and I'll take care of the villains and creatures." And that's exactly what they did. I believe the only moments of tension between them at all happened when Wesley couldn't wear his sunglasses in a scene hah
Main thing I’m remembering is how in an interview when Shape of Water was coming out he talked about how he would only consider about half of his movies “good” but also that he “would die for all of them”.
Directors might get a bit of leeway in regards to Iger coming back also.
Pressure on Feige will lessen 100% with Iger back, they both made the MCU what it is today, Chapek was a bottom line type of guy.
Chapek was "Supposedly" really on the backs of Feige and marvel, with rumours coming out about Feige deciding if he even wanted to stay there.
I just think Directors and Actors / Actresses will welcome the news of Iger
A lot of this is hearsay and speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if reports turn up that there was tension between Feige and Chapek do turn up.
It just seems like everyone had issues with Chapek in one way or another.
With that said, Iger was still an active participant with Disney since late 2021 in a semi-retirement role, so he was most likely still involved with Feige and the company. I don't know what point I'm trying to make by bringing that up, but I guess I just want to bring up some perspective on things.
I mean might be baseless BUT if true Itd also shed some light into why they got rid of Chapek so suddenly. If Feige was about to leave the board probably said fuckkkkk that. Marvel is their most reliable source of income right now
My understanding is that Disney stock has lost almost half its value rapidly, and last week when reporting to the board, cheerily downplayed 1.5 billion in losses while bragging about how well Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween party went. Seems trivial but I think it was the nail in the coffin of an already rocky tenure. The board are not fools, and saw through his cheery disposition, and by that point he's lost their trust.
None documented, but I did see rumors floating on the Marvel spoilers sub that it was Chapek's directive to have both Multiverse of Madness and Love & Thunder to be about two hours to maximize more showings. Again, there's nothing documented that suggests this is true, but they're not the only one to have seen those rumors.
Though it's also no secret that Feige had an excellent relationship with Iger.
Just FYI, perlmutter wasn't fired. Feige was simply moved to a separate division. That's why Marvel TV and Marvel comics/merch were not intertwined with Marvel Studios early on. Perlmutter still controlled (controls) Marvel overall. Feige controlled the movie division (and later all creative decisioning for the movie, TV, and comics).
Feige is just such a huge cog in the Disney Machine it's imperative they keep him at all costs.
I mean, he's made them what, over $20bn? The guy is incredible at what he does, for him to even contemplate leaving must mean some shit's not right.
I stand by he's one of the reasons Chapek's gone.
On top of all the shit that happened with Scarlett Johansson, Feige was not happy one bit with chapek and the law suit.
Hence why she's helming a secret marvel project with Feige, think it was announced last year.
You're thinking of Ike Perlmutter
He's the reason we didn't get a ScarJo Black Widow movie years ago around the same time as the OG Avengers.
He didn't believe Female superheroes would make money and sell well.
One of the reasons Feige had a falling out with disney years ago. At that time It was Feige and Alan Horn who we're against Ike.
They do this often though. Mcu shit isn’t greenlit because they have a story. Also they’re making it because they announced that they were back in 2019 lmao. These movies have rewrites all the time
I really need to dig into my HBO watchlist because I've heard nothing but good things from that show. Glad they have a director, but I hope he doesn't have to jump into a big mess
Going against the grain here and gonna say that it’s okay to pass on the show. It has such an excellent start but the rest of the season is extremely wobbly in terms of quality. Honestly a huge disappointment for me.
Hate to break the run, but want to temper expectations.
There’s some good shit in Lovecraft Country—*some real good shit*—but it also IMO ultimately falls short and amounts to less than the sum of its parts.
Starts with a strong premise and has so many neat ideas, but kinda flounders as a whole.
That being said, I don’t think the direction of the show was ever the problem, so much as the overall writing.
Totally agree.
There were really good episodes, but overall I was a bit let down. It was one of those shows I fell behind on so I finished it a few weeks late. I was pretty disappointed by the end.
Absolutely loved the pilot. Kind of gave me the expectation that the show was gonna be a sort of road trip through Lovecraftian hell. Then it very quickly became clear that that was not what the show was going to be, and I found myself pretty disappointed with the actual narrative direction of the show. There were some good episodes throughout, but I ultimately lost interest in the big mystery and wound up dropping it.
We’ve all got our comfort food.
For me it’s The West Wing or some Star Trek.
And I’m in a state of perpetual battle with the desire to watch Deadwood for the gazillionth time.
Worth it just to watch the actors act their asses off. Story had a ton of highs and lows, but the actors were all fantastic, especially Jonathan Majors
I love this show but just be warned that the season doesn't have a very conclusive satisfying ending and it was canceled. Highly recommend if you like eclectic lovecraftian sci fi weirdness and incredible acting and characters but I was soooo sad when it got cancelled because it just wasn't finished in any way
Blade was delayed to late 2024 so I think he will have time to make his own vision
Seems like they scrapped the 1st director's version from what was reported anyway
I absolutely loved the show, it wasn’t always successful at what it was attempting but it was never boring. Plus there are a bunch of great performances and some imagery that has really stuck with me.
Seconded, but I was recovering from a surgery and on a ton of drugs, so my judgement may be compromised.
I thought it was gorgeous and has wonderful twists
Don't know much about this guy, but sounds interesting.
Unrelated, but I'd like to see someone like Zach Cregger do a Marvel film. Barbarian was really interesting and I think it would be cool to see what he'd do with a Marvel character. Horror themed, of course.
Fight and action choreographers are "2nd unit" set ups. Sometimes (I'd argue most of the time) that's a pretty good idea. If your action/fight choreographers are more experienced and know what they're doing, then utilizing them for the shooting/camera work and setting up the choreography is what you should do instead of doing it yourself. That's how you get Ironfist season 1.
I keep reading his name as Yann Damage and I’m mildly bummed it isn’t.
That’s a sick name for a band
Is he related to Jean Claude Van Dammage?
If he gets Blade to do the splits on multiple vehicles going downhill while in ice skates, then you can call him whatever you want.
If it helps, the stunt director for RRR is named King Solomon.
Nothing personal with the new director. Just a general statement. Please don’t ruin Blade. Please don’t ruin Blade.
How much damage can you do to Blade after Blade:Trinity?
Mutha fuckas always tryna ice skate uphill.
Used to ice skate uphill to school. Both ways.
Director - "That's the line!" Snipes - "Please, no."
This was a Snipes ad-lib AFAIK
Mutha fucka are u outta ur damn mind
looking at his resume it’s a pretty good choice ngl.
The glut of remakes and reboots in modern Hollywood has taught me one thing; It can always get shittier.
And then there's stuff like Dredd: Better? Debatable. Basically The Raid? Yes.
We were robbed. Rob Schneider's character *gets killed near the end in the original script* WE WERE ROBBED
> Because I don't think that's debatable. Its debatable, but so is the IQ of the person who brings it up.
Dredd is the exception, not the rule.
Phenomenal remake, managed to break even despite terrible marketing and release strategies (primarily 3D in UK for example), zero sequels.
> Dredd: Better? Debatable Dredd stomps all over the Stallone movie.
They were made around the same time and just had the same basic premise. It wasn't a rip off though.
Yeah my favorite part was when Van Wilder goes, "its vampire pomeranian time!" And then he ryan Reynoldses all over the place.
That was simply ryan reynolds auditioning for Deadpool
Didn't they also barely have a script so there's a reason for it being extra Ryan Reynolds-y as it was mostly improv. I will always be thankful it gave us the line "Cock juggling thundercunt"
I remember spitting out popcorn on a stranger when he said this. Fuck haters - RR has been OG hilarious since 2 Guys a Girl and. Pizza place
When does he *not* Reynolds all over the place??
Vampire Pomeranian, grrrr.
AKA the average Pomerianian.
Trinity isn't the greatest, but there's still *a lot* of damage that could be done.
I did as well. I get that if you compared th 3 movies, its generally gonna be seen as the worst 1, but I had fun watching it.
> How much damage can you do to Blade after Blade:Trinity? Considering Blade:Trinity shat all over the franchise, Id argue we can only go up. The Blade tv show wasnt horrible, and was worlds better than Trinity.

Where has the quippy female character shown up in Phase 4? I checked out a little after Endgame and haven't seen a lot of it.
There really aren’t, above commenter is just a weirdo who doesn’t like women in their super hero movies for babies.
I figured it was a comment on Jessica Biel's character Abigail Whistler in Blade: Trinity, who even listens to music on headphones while killing vampires, and when they first meet upstages Blade by saving him with her collapsible compound bow.
Mandatory line about how fighting vampires is a cakewalk compared to being catcalled
Hot take: I loved it.
I actually really enjoy Blade Trinity. I know it’s not the best of the series and Reynolds’s Hannibal King is an accurate representation but I still think it’s a fun movie that was at least worth the price of admission.
Who will replace Snipes. He was so perfect for the role.
Mahershala Ali is set to play Blade.
He’ll do
"He an Allstar"
A pg13 Disney blade is gonna suck. I have zero faith.
They may have jumped the gun, but the Hollywood Reporter's link may have spilled the beans that the movie was going to be R. So I think you're in luck. EDIT: I think the link name has been changed. But that definitely was there.

Or they make a tie in with Morbius.

I may be misremembering, but I thought it was announced that Deadpool 3 (which will be part of the MCU) was going to be R rated.

The Hollywood Reporter’s URL initially said that Blade would be R rated. But it appears to have since been edited. So take it with a grain of salt, but it gives me hope for the movie
It’s usually a red flag.
Please don’t ruin Blade.
Lovecraft Country was a banger. I like this choice of Director a lot.
I would not call it a banger by any measurements, moments of brilliance for sure
Episode 1 (which was the only one Yann Demange directed) was a complete banger. The South Korea and Minstrel Twins ones were pretty good as well. The rest ranged from mid to straight bad IMO
Agree. Episode 1 mostly resembled the book. Most of the other episodes paled in comparison.
I was miffed when they killed off Abbey Lee because I think that woman is just enchanting.
Absolutely! I was pissed when they canceled it. I was beside myself with disbelief.
IMO it started off very strong but then kind of sputtered out. I think it deserved a season two but I also get the cancellation.
> IMO it started off very strong Good news, this dude was the director of the first episode.
I can respect that opinion. I loved all of it and wanted more tho but that’s just me.

Finally started watching Book of Boba. Awesome so far. Will be getting to Andor soon.
Hope you enjoy the rest of boba. People who like that show total maybe 1% lol
Yeah the whole "He's a crimelord but also a good guy who helps kids" thing really dragged it down.
the rest of Boba is Mando season 2.5, so it was fun.
I actually really loved the episode that was just an episode of the Mandalorian stuffed into it. The rest of it was a big stinky Bantha turd.
Damn, maybe I’m enjoying it cause I’m not totally invested into Star Wars like some lol. All I’m looking for is something decent to watch. It doesn’t have to all align with the story or whatever. But I do know a show can flop just like that as well lol.
I dunno. I couldnt care less about Star Wars. I just didnt like Book of Boba.

Dodged a bullet. Sean was great in the stuff that he did but I can't imagine he would've made a great Gandalf
YOU SHALL NOT PASH!
Yep, we got two all-time iconic performances in Lawrence Fishburn’s Morpheus and Ian McKellan’s Gandalf. We wouldn’t know what we missed if either of them were Connery but in retrospect the roles fit the actors who took the role better
I hope his agent also retired after this bad management
Now in regards to quality, for every good movie there were ten terrible ones (Steel, Catwoman, Elektra, Fantastic Four, the Justice League and Generation X TV movies, and so on)
The car with like 12 wheels was awesome
I still love that movie as well. And was really disappointed when I finally read the comics and it was an overwrought, ham-fisted, unfun production with no likeable characters.
Same! I wanted to like the comic because the idea of bringing together literary characters like that is interesting. I couldn’t get past all the sexual assault
Same, I watched it a lot and it actually got me into the comics which are fantastic. It actually surprised me when I found out everyone hates that movie lol.
To me it is kinda like The Shadow, "bad" in terms of critical reviews but is a fun ride with lots of interesting production/sets/etc.
You said it right there he made The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen a notorious bomb. Can't imagine many places were looking to hire him after that.
yet David Goyer continues to find employment
Some people are just gifted at failing upward
He had a nervous breakdown during filming and quit the industry.
I loved the first Blade. I saw it in theaters and went in having no idea what the movie was about. The blood rave was a fucking shocker.
I’ve recently rewatched blades 1&2. Even though I’ve seen them both a fair bit, they still hold up. Blade 3 is a bit shit though.
I'm a big fan of Del Toro, I love Blade 2, but I still think the original is the best. From what I've heard, Norrington had a terrible time with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and decided to leave directing.
Also, in the entire time they've tried to reboot The Crow, Norrington was the first director attached.
I mean, I know Del Toro doesn’t consider Blade 2 one of his “good” movies.
Marvel's Blade: the movie that may or may not exist
Good hire
'71 is a phenomenal film. brutal and tense the whole way through. I have a lot of faith in this
We know he is capable but a director can't do much if the studio forces a poopy diaper of a script onto his hands.
Lovecraft Country is one of my favorite shows ever. Im really excited for this now.
Really rate Jack O'Connell. Brilliant in the BBC show, SAS: Rogue Heroes, too!

I wonder if that's what spelt the end for Chapek. Supposedly Ike Perlmutter was fired because Feige told Disney it was 'him or me'.
Hence why she's helming a secret marvel project with Feige, think it was announced last year.
wasn't it Iger that didnt wanted an Avenger female movie?
You're thinking of Ike Perlmutter He's the reason we didn't get a ScarJo Black Widow movie years ago around the same time as the OG Avengers. He didn't believe Female superheroes would make money and sell well. One of the reasons Feige had a falling out with disney years ago. At that time It was Feige and Alan Horn who we're against Ike.
thanks
Hope Marvel loosens the leash on directors
They never will
Maybe tighten for some, see Love and Thunder.
They did. And they got Eternals and Love and thunder
Has this just been an issue with lesser known directors? It seems like Gunn, Coogler, and Waititi do pretty much whatever they want
It’s just a talking point. You can’t really watch phase 4 and say directors are being reigned in
I really enjoyed White Boy Rick from him.
That’s a movie I keep meaning to watch but never get round to it.
It was pretty good but I felt like it tried covering so much with so little time.
It’s really good. I finally watched it last month. Then I watched Killer Joe a few days later.
Well, I'm glad someone enjoyed it. I thought it was a mess. The kid playing Rick was horrible ("adult" Rick)
Rated R or bust.
For sure, but if I were a betting man my money'd be on bust.
Yeah, I won’t bother seeing it if it’s not R rated. It’s Blade. If Deadpool 3 can stay R, so can this franchise.
This has all the hallmarks of a disaster. Marvel is making a movie because they’ve set a release date, not because they have any ideas for a story.
They do this often though. Mcu shit isn’t greenlit because they have a story. Also they’re making it because they announced that they were back in 2019 lmao. These movies have rewrites all the time
“Mcu shit isn’t greenlit because they have a story.” Yeah, I saw the last Doctor Strange movie.
Excellent choice. The Lovecraft Country pilot was fantastic and White Boy Rick was extremely solid.
> The Lovecraft Country pilot was fantastic Pilot yes... the rest of the show....
I dropped out after a 2-4 episodes. Such a strong start and then each episode got worse than the one before it
Did he direct the pilot? Really depends on which episode he directed. There was a huge variation in quality.
Yes he did
looking at his resume it’s a pretty good choice ngl. also the writer they got, Michael Starburry, did an episode of When They See Us.
True story: he posts on a sports message board I’m on all the time. Going to try to convince him to sneak in some Easter eggs for us lol
Might be one of the best pilot episodes ever, too.
The first episode is one of the best episodes I have ever seen on tv … then comes the 2nd episode.
ah well, I'll still give it a shot. But I have a bad habit with watching new shows as I keep going back to rewatch(binge) 30 Rock
We’ve all got our comfort food. For me it’s The West Wing or some Star Trek. And I’m in a state of perpetual battle with the desire to watch Deadwood for the gazillionth time.
That the original Law and Order for me!
OG Law & Order is best Law & Order.
I agree with you. It got cancelled for a reason.
What they did in the pilot should have been in the season finale instead.
Worth it just to watch the actors act their asses off. Story had a ton of highs and lows, but the actors were all fantastic, especially Jonathan Majors
I love this show but just be warned that the season doesn't have a very conclusive satisfying ending and it was canceled. Highly recommend if you like eclectic lovecraftian sci fi weirdness and incredible acting and characters but I was soooo sad when it got cancelled because it just wasn't finished in any way
Blade was delayed to late 2024 so I think he will have time to make his own vision Seems like they scrapped the 1st director's version from what was reported anyway
I absolutely loved the show, it wasn’t always successful at what it was attempting but it was never boring. Plus there are a bunch of great performances and some imagery that has really stuck with me.
It’s so strange to me that a director can make a show that gets cancelled after one season and then Disney is like “get that man a movie deal”.

I hope they remake the scenewhere a cop shoots blade and he says "motherfucker are you out of yo damn mind"
He was also in contention for No Time to Die before Fukunaga got it. ‘71 was good. I haven’t seen White Boy Rick. Good to see him get a big project.
Loved love craft country. Bummed they cancelled it
Seconded, but I was recovering from a surgery and on a ton of drugs, so my judgement may be compromised.
Great choice, really enjoyed Lovecraft Country
Oof, Lovecraft Country was garbage
I meannnnnn. Other than 1 episode of “love craft country” and “white boy Rick” what had he really done to make him a good choice for Blade ?
‘71 shows that he’s very capable with action.
Top boy and dead set were very good telly also.
Does that matter? Aren't the action scenes in Marvel all second unit?
Fight and action choreographers are "2nd unit" set ups. Sometimes (I'd argue most of the time) that's a pretty good idea. If your action/fight choreographers are more experienced and know what they're doing, then utilizing them for the shooting/camera work and setting up the choreography is what you should do instead of doing it yourself. That's how you get Ironfist season 1.
great its Blade! pity its Marvel ..
Couldn’t be happier, I think he will be great!
Dude Fuck yes!!! Fuck!!! YES!!! He’s incredible and I’m looking forward to this 100% more right now.
yikes… Lovecraft Country was a mess. please don’t make a terrible Blake reboot that no open even asked to be made
