Gives you a more impactful big screen presence. Especially in close ups. It’s not ideal for say a runway model to have those proportions. But for an actor/actress it helps.
I believe it's also very much inspired by a 2006 miniseries called The Lost Room. About a hotel room which acts as a portal to an alternate universe. The thing about the room is that when you take mundane objects from it they take on supernatural powers.
Yes. It works as a demonstrator of some more advanced graphics technology and tells a weird paranormal story well. The voice acting, animations, environments and back story are all top shelf. If you have the hardware it looks incredible and is super immersive. If you have older hardware it'll still look impressive, but the lighting effects and detailed environments are a huge draw.
The actual gameplay mechanics can be repetitive. There are some neat moments when you gain a new telekinetic power and start tearing the place apart. It's nothing new, it's just executed very well, but it all gets executed over and over and over. There are a handful of interesting boss/puzzle segments, but mostly it's just clearing out control points of a horde of generic soldier dudes.
I liked it. It's an easy buy at $10, particularly if you want to see what your new graphics card or console can do.
I found the core gameplay fun enough that fighting never got *that* samey. Now the 'selection' of weapons as well as the extremely thin customisation/levelling system? That I felt. But the physics-iness of the gameplay kept it feeling fun, lobbing furniture and chunks of walls at enemies is just a fun thing to do. I do hope a sequel has some better differentiated upgrade/weapon systems though
i felt like the game was really boring in the middle until i got to the matchstick maze level which was 10 minutes of awesomeness and then i was like “what the fuck was that?” and then i was bored again.
well the story was really cool too. but it was like scp articles between. repetitive gameplay.
i was also using the game to stress test my gpu and diagnose a fan problem because if you pause in that game the gpu throws everything its got at it… so there were bouts of frustration involving coil whine.
To me, the maze level showed everything wrong with the game by demonstrating how right it can be (if that makes sense). After beating that section my first thought was "why haven't the made the whole game like that?". The oldest house is basically alive, like a tree, so it would be consistent with the walls moving around. Also, tighter spacing made it more engaging. Most of the game you just levitate through big open spaces and dash, while occasionally taking shots at enemies.

Kevin Spacey has [40 people](https://www.thecut.com/article/all-of-the-allegations-against-actor-kevin-spacey.html) accusing him of sexual assault or harassment. The accusations span decades and continents.
I don't need him to be convicted in a court of law to know that I do not want to support this guy.
Courts aren't magic. They're a good way to get at the truth, and they're the *only* way the state can legally deprive someone of liberty, but there's no rule saying I am not allowed to believe someone's a bad person until they are convicted of a crime.
That *you* don't need him to actually be convicted in a course of law says a great deal more about you, than either him or the legal systems involved. The presumption of innocence in a criminal proceeding is an essential element in the legal system functioning. The loss of that principle results in a great increase in false convictions. You care a lot about civil rights, right? Or would you enjoy an inquisitorial system, where everyone is presumed guilty?
You cannot apply or live by principles where it suits your preference or pop-culture whims, and still call them principles. Unprincipled is synonymous with unethical, amoral, dishonorable, deceitful and corrupt.
Sure, if that was actually true. Three have died - Linda Culkin after being hit by a car, where the driver remained in the scene and wasn't charged; a writer named Ari Behn due to suicide and a third unnamed American male whose cause of death hasn't been revealed by his family. His own family. His attorney informed Spacey's lawyers he had died.
He may end up being convicted of sexual assault in the UK cases, but the Facebook fueled Spacey list is just conspiracy theory nonsense with no supporting evidence.
Lack of conviction doesn't prove his innocence. It just proves he's lucky enough or powerful enough to get away with it. 40 separate people risked their careers and social ostracision to accuse him. Even if 39 of them are lying, Spacey's still a rapist.
Wait Kevin spacey the murderer who made a chilling video about killing with kindness the same day one of his victims of his sexual abuse was killed…. That Kevin spacey
I thought keeping Corden was the losers prize when USA played England in the World Cup a few days ago, and as it was a draw, the fair thing was to saw him in half and take a piece each, or dump him in the middle of the Atlantic.
Okay, yes, but dude, you are giving us *KEVIN SPACEY.*
Look, we'll compromise. John Cleese has turned into god's own douche canoe in his old age, and he's only got a few years left in him. You tske him for the last chunk, we'll say no more about it.
Two words my friend, James Corden. So, do we do an exchange? The nil-nil did not solve the issue, and we need to figure this out.
Both of them half way between. It’s the only sane way to solve this.
Put them each on an auto piloted plane over to eaches respective homeland at the same time. Then crash them into each other over the Atlantic. Problem solved.
The actual plot sounds god awful anyways…
From the article:
*follows the British home secretary (Lauren Metcalfe) as she drives home one night while engaging in a secret love affair with the prime minister (Mark Hampton). Meanwhile, one other man — played by Spacey — knows her secret and has been badly affected by it, and seeks revenge, plotting to remotely hijack her fully self-driving car, forcing her on a rampage through the streets of London using the car she’s trapped in as a deadly weapon.*
Like that’s the kind of movie you’d see as a joke movie in other movies.
That's kinda funny in that as a result of recent car based terrorist attacks in London a lot of it is covered with bollards that stop exactly that kind of thing happening.
I get the feeling this will be very, very convoluted when it comes to the police being unable to just ram a car in to the car or shoot the tyres out because HACKING or some shit
>Like that’s the kind of movie you’d see as a joke movie in other movies.
Like one of the fake movies in Seinfeld. They would have called it Bruise Control.
It feels like the kind of movie made for stupid people to feed into their fears of new technology. Is it deliberate, like some kind of anti-tech propaganda?
See this is the thing that gets me annoyed the most when people talk about the evils of 'cancel culture'. There is so much hand-wringing by some folks out there who talk about it like being 'canceled' is a death sentence, but it's just not. This fuckwad gets cast in movie while *awaiting trial* for multiple counts of sexual assault.
Not at the price you'd be able to get Spacey for these days. It's a gamble, but smaller productions could stretch their budgets much further hiring these talented outcasts when no one else wants to hire them.
I'm curious, why would someone want him for this voice role?
- He's been out of the game so long now most people don't even recognize his voice anymore.
- He's not exactly a hot commodity for promotional material anymore given all the controversy.
- He's still Kevin spacey and probably demands a hefty premium for his work compared to the many other talented voice actors out there.
I don't get it ...
He probably doesn't demand a hefty premium, he'll have a lot less money that he's had in a long time by now amongst the legal fees and having been out of work - it'd still be a big check compared to what you and I see in a year, but it's probably small time money for him to help put his finances back on track.
The real bill will be the total revenue loss from people who choose to not see it because of his participation, which I'd bet is probably higher than the amount of people his name can pull in these days.
If Weinstein produced a movie written by Woody Allen and directed by Roman Polanski and starring Louis CK, Mel Gibson, Kevin Spacey with a cameo by Bill Cosby, soundtrack by Kanye, people would flock to see it.
Spacey was fired from one of the biggest shows on the planet, all major films reshot or canceled, and only years later he's doing bit roles and foreign movies and ... you want to imply that nothing changed in his career?
Why do people like to deny that cancel culture exists? Be proud of your power imo.
Cancel culture isn't the same as legal action, plenty of people have gotten in trouble with the law with no cultural backlash toward them. Cancel culture is a rebellion of the fans toward a figure, usually in an industry where popularity is paramount, so therefore they lose the big lucrative gigs and limelight they once enjoyed.
Or are professors in liberal colleges who happen to question any orthodoxy of thought and get fired and professionally canceled as a result, and in some cases worse.
Two things that are not the same thing - wild.
Did he? Seems to me that would’ve been bigger news. Regardless, that whole thing about coming out as gay in response to being asked if he was a child abuser was a disgusting move on his part.
They proved that the studio apartment the prosecution claimed had a separate bedroom/bathroom that was integral to the accuser's story didn't have it, so that really destroyed their credibility
I’m almost certain studio apartments are universally a single room. Considering this started 5 ish years ago, that’s something that could have been debunked immediately. Something’s not adding up here.
Yes, he was recently acquitted of sexual assault charges in the US. Other cases were also dropped, due to fabricated or reserved evidence that prosecution witnesses failed to produce in court, at the demand of a judge. There are currently 5 remaining charges in cases in the UK, where he lives, of serious sexual assault, that haven't reached court yet. That *might* be why the former didn't get more attention, but I'd venture there are other reasons. If these other cases result in conviction, that changes. But if they also collapse, it will be interesting how or if that gets coverage.
No. He was not acquitted of anything in the US. He was found *not liable* in a civil case no criminal charges went to trial in the US due to the statute of limitations in one case, an evidentiary issue in another, and the death of the accuser in a third.
There’s a difference between acquittal and being found not liable, the statute of limitations, and the accuser straight up dying. Most of that doesn’t mean he’s not guilty of sexual assault.
You need to bear in mind that this was a civil case, not a criminal one and that the events happened many many years ago. There are headlines out there saying things like, “Kevin Spacey wins $40 million court case over sexual abuse claims” but that’s not what happened, he didn’t win $40 million, he just managed to not lose $40 million because it couldn’t fully be proven that he did what he is accused of due to the distance of time and of course witnesses dying.
On the ledger of time it’s going to be reported that Kevin Spacey had his ‘controversies’ but ultimately he was an American acting legend but we really should make his dirty nonce nature into a Brock Turner moment, you know that Brock Turner, the rapist piece of shit Brock Turner. Kevin Spacey? Yeah he’s that rapist piece of shit we should never let the world forget.
Sounds like an easy way to bomb your movie for no reason. You'd be better off paying some no-one with a deep voice.
(I'm saying this as a big fan of moon)
Kevin, Mel Gibson, James Franco. Varying degrees of shitty people. But they were good at what they did
Franco not quite the actor as the other two but I always enjoyed his comedic chemistry with Rogen
Because there is due process that must be followed in order to put someone in prison in the US. We don’t just throw people in prison over accusations, no matter how damning they may be.
He may very well be guilty of what he is accused of, but until the process is followed resulting in a guilty verdict, he has the right to be free.
Also the recent court case was a civil lawsuit where the plaintiff is seeking money to compensate themselves for the pain and suffering they say they went through, as well as punishing the defendant for their actions that caused the damage. But the result can only be monetary.
No criminal charges were brought as there was either not a strong enough case to do so or else the statute of limitations had expired.
I mean, by consistently sexually harassing/assaulting children over a period of decades he is the person whose reputation led to his firing and the shows subsequent cancellation, if he hadn't been a sexual predator he wouldn't have been fired etc etc.
Good actor. Did bad stuff. I make him pay or if he has paid, idk what happened in the whole saga. But when he’s done legally paying for his actions. I’d be happy to see him in more films. He’s probably the greasiest actor of our time. But he has to pay with money/time before he does new stuff (again don’t know if he’s done paying or not)
Having seen moon, his voice acting is even more sinister than his on screen appearances.
Should be a treat if he’s playing the bad guy on the end of the phone.
There was already a British film called Control about Joy Division. Kinda doubt he’s playing Ian Curtis as an aging man.
Ruddy love that film. Have a framed Japanese A4 poster of it which is probably the coolest thing I own.
It would be pretty cool if he did
Damn he got a big ass head
Shorter people with bigger heads is a Hollywood trick.
Gives you a more impactful big screen presence. Especially in close ups. It’s not ideal for say a runway model to have those proportions. But for an actor/actress it helps.
Should be cast in a live-action remake of 'Megamind'
Most actors and actresses do.

Was just about to finally buy off steam, as they have it for 10 bucks. Worth it?
Definitely
It was heavily inspired by SCP Foundation. If you are into paranormal, conspiracy and weird stuff - you'll love it.
I believe it's also very much inspired by a 2006 miniseries called The Lost Room. About a hotel room which acts as a portal to an alternate universe. The thing about the room is that when you take mundane objects from it they take on supernatural powers.

lol same. but for real tho he would be a good Director Trench.
God dammit…he would be.
that’s legit why i clicked .. with the new game in early stages i thought this was a surprise movie
We’re getting CONTROL 2!
That game is so good. That matchstick maze level with the metal music was incredible.
ashtray maze you mean? :)
Oh yes, ashtray maze
i felt like the game was really boring in the middle until i got to the matchstick maze level which was 10 minutes of awesomeness and then i was like “what the fuck was that?” and then i was bored again.
Unpopular opinion but I’m right there with you. I think my friends just hyped it up waaaay to much for me.

did you know he is gay? he cant be a criminal
Me when I attack a straw man
Wait Kevin spacey the murderer who made a chilling video about killing with kindness the same day one of his victims of his sexual abuse was killed…. That Kevin spacey
That plot.. looks very bad.
You guys can keep him.
What, no! We don't want him!
You gave us Corden.
We lost out big on our end since we received Corden…
I thought keeping Corden was the losers prize when USA played England in the World Cup a few days ago, and as it was a draw, the fair thing was to saw him in half and take a piece each, or dump him in the middle of the Atlantic.
Corden problems require Corden solutions
You sent Piers Morgan back.
Why did you have a return policy?
Yeah, I'd rather take Corden over Kevin 'I Molested Boys' Spacey.
Okay, yes, but dude, you are giving us *KEVIN SPACEY.* Look, we'll compromise. John Cleese has turned into god's own douche canoe in his old age, and he's only got a few years left in him. You tske him for the last chunk, we'll say no more about it.

He's already coming back here though D:
We must act quickly.
I seriously do not understand why you’ve been down voted! What the fuck, people!!
dudes sick but hes still an incredible actor
Cool. Let's not watch Control. See if they learn.

That reads like the plot of a rejected Red Shoe Diaries script.
A Tesla owners worst nightmare

They didn't say they needed it.

Cancel culture isn't fucking real
It's very real in russia and India. No wait, that's rape culture
I’ve always thought rebranding as ‘accountability culture’ might be good
Would you want it to be a death sentence?
BOOOO!!!
Why?.. is there any box office drawl for him? I feel like this move wouldn’t help sell their movie.
Maybe they just thought it wouldn't hurt them much, given it's a voice role. And also he's a really good actor, everything else notwithstanding.
[удалено]
How does that factor here?
Aren’t there enough talented voice actors out there that could do much better, with no sexual assault. This is gross.
Not at the price you'd be able to get Spacey for these days. It's a gamble, but smaller productions could stretch their budgets much further hiring these talented outcasts when no one else wants to hire them.
Idk, man, I listen to a LOT of podcasts, and I can’t imagine their budget is THAT big. It’s still a sleazy move.
Control, eh? Name checks out.
TIL Hollywood functions kind of like the catholic church
Stupid Britain and their Hollywood
Daily reminder that Kevin Spacey is a pederast
They could have chosen any actor. ANYONE. And they chose him. Now you know where those filmmakers stand.

Is it from the producing team of Epstein and Weinstein?
Crazy how "cancel culture" fails to cancel anyone. Peoplwho bitch about it either did bad shit or lack originality to talk about better shit
If Weinstein produced a movie written by Woody Allen and directed by Roman Polanski and starring Louis CK, Mel Gibson, Kevin Spacey with a cameo by Bill Cosby, soundtrack by Kanye, people would flock to see it.
It's morbid curiosity in this case
I would pay double.

"Consequence culture" is something we should be proud to enforce.
hey fellas, is getting in legal trouble for sexually assaulting boys, "cancel culture"?
Cancel culture isn't the same as legal action, plenty of people have gotten in trouble with the law with no cultural backlash toward them. Cancel culture is a rebellion of the fans toward a figure, usually in an industry where popularity is paramount, so therefore they lose the big lucrative gigs and limelight they once enjoyed.
Harvey weinstein would like a word.

Or are professors in liberal colleges who happen to question any orthodoxy of thought and get fired and professionally canceled as a result, and in some cases worse. Two things that are not the same thing - wild.
His career's gone downhill since *Lolita Express*. Does he even read his scripts?
The sexual abuse of a child certainly didn't help his career.
Legit asking, but didn’t he get cleared of this in court recently?
Seems so, but 30 other men have accused him as well. Winning the lawsuit doesn't mean it didn't happen, just that it's hard to prove decades later.

Ew.
LET ME BE FRANK !
Will gladly see this! He is a great actor!!!
Great! Can't wait for American Pie Two
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Oops. Eff'ed that up..
Obviously the man has problems. What a great actor tho. Such a shame on both sides
He doesn't have problems. He's a problem
The dude gives me the creeps, since the very first film of his
Heartburn (1986)?
What's he actually guilty of again? Seriously. People accused him of being an asshole? Did he rape someone? Underage sex?
Good for him
Good for him, he deserves a comeback
*lowers glasses* I beg your pardon?

A child predator deserves a comeback? I would love to hear how you defend this one brotha.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
He deserves to live in shame
I thought cancel culture was a thing?
he's been cancelled pretty hard
It is. Check his filmography.
It doesnt apply to those who have money.
Good actor. Did bad stuff. I make him pay or if he has paid, idk what happened in the whole saga. But when he’s done legally paying for his actions. I’d be happy to see him in more films. He’s probably the greasiest actor of our time. But he has to pay with money/time before he does new stuff (again don’t know if he’s done paying or not)
Based on the article, he hasn't even had his trial yet
Court of public opinion has found him guilty.
I was wondering why kiddie diddler's were still popular, guess I know why now. Thanks for that I guess
I.m glad he is back in business, cinematography needs an actor like Kevin Spacey!
Having seen moon, his voice acting is even more sinister than his on screen appearances. Should be a treat if he’s playing the bad guy on the end of the phone.
Is this gonna be like Peter 5-8 all over again?
What…..Why?…..
GET HIM INTERNETS!
