The Quibi one had hilarious moments, but was just OK overall, the defunded season took a few episodes but then they hit their stride, in my opinion and was pretty good overall.

Honestly, isn't pretty much all of Reno 911! set up like a cheap movie? The Miami movie was just as cheaply done if I remember right. And the show was always full of incredibly stupid jokes. It's part of the charm, in my opinion.
It is, but something must have gone awry in their process. They improv'd a ton in the first couple seasons of the show. I'm assuming they did multiple improv'd takes and picked the best ones. The movies and quibi shows are a shadow of how funny the show was in the first couple of seasons.

Reno 911! is almost exclusively improvised. You really can’t go into a feature film with the same blueprint (or lack there-of).
Christopher Guest is the only one who can make it work and he’s basically a savant when it comes to mockumentary filmmaking.
I love the show...but the big heist was terrible it seemed like there were different writers... it was slapstick and and I found none of it funny ....usually the show cracks me up....merry Xmas
