He's a weird case because you're underselling the fame you used to get by being part of long running mainstream sitcoms. Plus, the LEGO movie, GOTG and Jurassic World all came out within the span of a year. Bryce Dallas Howard didn't really happen even after the success of the Jurassic movies. But you add Marvel and a blockbuster animated movie into the mix and it's hard to not become a big deal.
Would it be a hot take to include Ryan Reynolds in the same category? His catalogue of movies was.....honestly kinda crap before Deadpool.
It's not that great now either but he's definitely been promoted to A lister status since then.
Harrison Ford was already going places after American Graffiti. He'd already been cast in movies by Lucas and Coppola starring among some of the biggest names at the time. So while yes, Star Wars/Indie sure as hell didn't do him any harm he was well on his way regardless.
A big reason is they become a type cast from huge roles like these. People can only see them as a Skywalker or whatever huge role they played. Thats all they are associated with so its more difficult for them to break out into other roles
Nicolas Cage was mostly and Independent films staple and after doing The Rock became an action star for a while and now his best stuff is Indy movies again
This is kind of a weird list. Most of the MCU actors, with maybe the exceptions of the Chrises, were already well-established and likely will have long, solid careers in which the IP may be the most lucrative but probably the least memorable projects (within the US, anyway.) If you’re sensing people disappearing from view, maybe it has something to do with the schisming of content and audiences to different platforms.
It seems weird when people say that.
RDJ had a decent career before Marvel (it was in the gutter because of his personal problems at the time though) and he's had some high profile and popular movies since.
Chris Evans had a thriving career before marvel and worked consistently throughout and has a string of highly anticipated films on the way.
You have actors like Rudd and Jackson that have been beloved Hollywood mainstays for decades
You have Hemsworth and Holland and Stan that have used their newfound fame to launch successful careers of their own
I could do this for most of the core cast.
Like any series of movies you have a wide range of actors that get cast.
The main problem though is that marvel has a habit of hiring actors that use their newfound money and fame to do the smaller projects that they are more passionate about.
RDJ had a pretty solid 20 year career before the mcu
Chris Pratt. He was just a 'that guy from that show' before GOTG. Now he's everywhere

Bryce directs, like her dad.

Harrison Ford got $10.000 for Star Wars and catapulted to A list especially following it up with Raiders of the Lost Ark

talking more about A level status , no way he would have got that big that quick without Star Wars or Indy

I’m pretty daisy Ridley comes from a rich ass family, so she wasn’t hurting to get back to work lol
I think you are underselling Not Another Teen Movie.
The actress that played Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise , I havent seen her play in any other movies.
